Service is great and establishment is clean! Def prefer this CAVA over the one on University. Food tastes fresher here too!

First with the positive. The food was amazing! I had the spicy chicken avacado pita and my wife did a build her own bowl. We both loved the food. It was very flavorful and good portion. The negative was that the business seemed very unprepared. Long line that lasted for a good while. They kept running out of food and just wasn't prepared for a dinner rush it seemed. I waited almost 45 mins in line to get my food. They were out of additional add on items as well. While I continued waiting on the line for the chicken to be cooked, I figured oh well let me go ahead and pay and get some drinks. Well they were out of ice as well. Finally once the chicken became available, they quickly tried to finish my order but the an employee trying to wrap my pita had no idea how to wrap it. It was super sloppy until another employee was like "let me finish it." The tasty food will bring me back but the unpreparedness by the staff and the business turns me off. read more

Foods great but DONT DO MOBILE ORDER! It won't save you time! I arrived on time to pick up and ended up waiting for 30 mins while non-mobile line goes through quickly. Cava was a popular American Mediterranean chain that started in Maryland and Washington DC. And it is now available in Gainesville as Cava acquires Zoe's Kitchen! While they are separate companies, the way you order Cava's bowl is quite similar to Chipotle's. But instead of barbacoa or carnita, you get American Mediterranean items like falaffel(different from authentic lebanese falaffel) or lamb meatballs. And instead of salsa, you get to add taziki sauce and different kinds of hummus. They also have pita chips instead of tortilla chips as their side item. read more

Starting with the positive. My husband and I tried Cava a couple months ago and were BLOWN AWAY. The food was absolutely delicious. So many flavors and combinations to choose from and the food is overall very nutritious. We went during an odd time of day, so the wait wasn't very long. We immediately identified Cava as a new go-to place for lunch/dinner! Unfortunately, that excitement was very short lived. We started going back on a weekly basis and the experience got worse each time. The wait times started getting longer and they are now consistently at least 45 minutes. They are frequently out of key ingredients, such as feta, grilled chicken, tzatziki, etc. They are extremely understaffed given the popularity of this restaurant. Last week we decided to try delivery to avoid the long line. Unfortunately, our food delivery was delayed by 2 hours. We were told that there were only 2 people working and that everything was backed up, so we were promised an 80% refund due to the delay. It was 9 PM when our food arrived and we had already decided to go pick up food somewhere else. At the end of that terrible experience, I have yet to receive my refund. Cava is truly a gem that has lost its shine due to poor management and understaffing. I truly hope that they are able to improve their customer service to be on par with the quality of their food, otherwise this will just be another failed business. read more

Pita day was today its a weekly tradition. The customer service was great as usual, it's a warm inviting pleasant setting. The employees are very willing to help me pick out a meal based off my preference. The lamb was amazing, very moist and decadent. read more

Ok this is Heaven in a Mediterranean bowl. You get to make your own bowls just like at Chipotle. Food is very fresh and quite tasty. My mouth waters just thinking about it. Make sure you add the white sweet potatoes to your bowl - that tops it! The dressing options are very good. I highly recommend the date vinaigrette and the garlic dressing. So yummy! I could eat this every single day if Cava were closer to my home. Try it now! Don't even settle for another place. Oh - and don't forget the side of pita chips. I can't even explain how good these things are. Comes with about 5 in a bag. Lastly, the app to make a to go order is pretty seamless and works great. Order your food and pick up your food without waiting in line if you don't want. Restaurant was clean and simple - Mediterranean vibes. read more

First time going to Cava- What a find! There was a line, but no one in line got upset , I suppose because they knew they were going to get WONDERFUL food! Brenda was working the line, and she was really efficiently going- getting every order right, and not getting frustrated. Although there were a lot of people, we didn't wait long, and whatever time it was- it was SO worth it! The food was, (sorry Zoes Kitchen), the best Mediterranean around. The sauces were fresh and bright and very flavorful! Lamb kebab and falafel were tender and spiced well. Lettuces and vegetables were fresh and crisp. I just wish I could have tried everything- I don't think I would have been disappointed! Eat outside if the weather permits. Oh! Also, The ambient music was even good and surprisingly different from the ubiquitous droning normally heard in todays restaurants! read more

Wow! I love this place! The food is so delicious and I like that it is a healthier alternative to a place like Chipotle or even Bolay. I've tried close to everything at this point because I have been going multiple times a week. I know, crazy! My favorites are the crazy feta dip, eggplant dip, every topping, garlic sauce, and lemon herb tahini sauce. I recommend getting just grilled chicken and the harissa dip instead of the honey harissa chicken, it's extremely similar in my opinion and saves you a couple bucks! Service is usually great. Morgan is one of the best people there! Now, when they get really busy they do run out of a lot of things which is a bummer but understandable during times like these. That is the only reason I put it as 4 stars because some days, they're out of crucial parts of the bowl! Otherwise, this place deserves a perfect score. Highly recommend you try it! read more

Super happy to have Cava in Gainesville! Love the fresh Mediterranean style food, that is tasty & healthier than most fast food options. Have been 3 times now, and food is always good. The reason I can't give it 5 stars is the service. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 times the workers on the service line to make the bowls & wraps have been rude & short, not only to me, but to other customers in line as well. They also have been out of items that a Mediterranean restaurant should not be running out of - feta cheese, pickled onions, roasted corn?? These are pretty much staple items to bowls & wraps! Have not been once that they were not out of something. Management can definitely make a few tweaks to this however and it will easily be a 5 star place. Just don't let it go down from here or it will cause people to not come back. read more

This was my first visit and the staff was very helpful when I asked about all the selections. I was offered a falafel to try and it was delicious! I chose the bowl and every addition was fresh and delicious. Plus I can't do spicy, and there was plenty for me to choose from. A great first visit and I will be going back for certain! read more

We got carry out and I got the spicy greens bowl, it was soooo good. I mixed the whole bowl together after eat the falafel and it was the perfect mix of everything, it wasn't that spicy, but it was still really good, maybe a 2/5 on the spice scale, 1 being jalapeño and 5 being Thai chilis read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Poor customer service. Workers were rude. The man handed a sample of dressing to a woman and didn't wait for her to grab it and he dropped it on her shirt. The food here is great. Its a Mediterranean styled chipotle with a great selection of proteins, bases, and sauces. Its a little bit on the pricier side for a "fast food" chain. With that being said. The food is great... if they have it. They constantly are out of top selections. The service on the otherhand is subpar. The staff are not very friendly or helpful.. in fact borderline rude. If you ask questions they look bothered and like they hate their job. It just overall leaves a bad taste in your mouth and turns you off from coming back. read more

I had the most wonderful interaction with a woman named Cara at the counter today. She was incredibly personable, and had a positive upbeat attitude that was so contagious! She helped me with my order and the food was phenomenal. The interior is also clean and has great lighting with the floor to ceiling windows along the front. This place has excellent food but they mess up your order so often it's ridiculous. After previous bad experiences with takeout taking forever this last Monday I placed my order at 5:15 to be ready at 6:45. It still wasn't ready at 7:00. What was worse was all the missing items when we got home. We had no sauces. Both of our bowls were missing the Avacado we payed almost $5 extra for. No Tzatziki or corn either on mine. A bowl that was supposed to have 8 toppings had 4. Every time we've gone here there aren't enough people working and it's impossible to get help. I am so disappointed because the food when it's right is good but I won't be returning to this location. Management must be pretty awful. read more

Upon visiting this location, we along with several other groups in-line, we're met with nothing but negative attitude and unprofessionalism. Specifically, the two young ladies behind the counter informed everyone.."well look, we had some folks not come in so yaw need to order on line and get out of here!" When one person asked.."but we are here in line can we get service?" To which the worker stated.."you trippin...unless you want something special in there.." We waited for over half an hour to get to the front of the line. When we got there, cleaning the food station commenced....another 5 full minutes. I'd checked on line before getting into line and while they were out of somethings, falafel was definitely on the menu. There was no falafel, no corn, no avocado and no potato. Will not be returning. Food is good. Sanitation is terrible. Food was spat in by the person serving it unintentionally not on purpose. I didn't want to embarrass her by telling her, but there should be something in place where the workers aren't talking and serving and accidentally spitting in the food. The restaurant itself is filthy tables are dirty and sticky rice all over the floors not sure how a place is allowed to conduct business like this, truly my biggest complaint is the sanitation and their lack of it here. It is too bad because the food is actually good. Employees are wearing gloves but they're touching everything around them including checking people out and then touching food. I was completely grossed out by this experience. not sure why places aren't regulated to uphold some sort of level of cleanliness. If I were the owner, I would be there cleaning tables and floors and making sure that the servers who are handling the food do so in a manner that is sanitary. Archer Rd restaurant. Great food. Ambiance is somehow a bit "industrial." Service is good. A variety of options for those who like to construct their own meals; but, it also offers menu options of bowls and pitas with a specific list of ingredients for those who cannot make up their minds.
