I visited with a friend and wow this place is a hidden gem. Apparently they have been around for 47 years! I had the lamb/beef gyro which was delicious! The pita was soft and pillowy and fresh, so authentic and the lamb and beef were seasoned well. The French fries were hot and fresh! I got my gyro without onions and tomatoes. They have a plethora of bak lavas! I tried the corn flake one and the chocolate almond one to go and they were both delicious!! The service was fast and efficient and ambiance was clean and casual. Honestly, I would rate the food lower than 3 stars but it's a family run business and I don't want to be too harsh. The food was okay and the prices were high for the portion size. There was barely any gyro in the plate and the "salad" was maybe 3 fork fulls. The hummus was tasty though. They do need to season the gyro more, however. Genuinely just stopped by for a quick eat but it was actually so good considering how unassuming the inside and outside are. We got falafel wraps and tabbouleh. The wraps were really good and full. The pita is thick and the falafel is smashed so you're not chewing through an entire ball of falafel and the experience of eating is smoother and more enjoyable in my opinion. Comes with tahini to dip in, wish there was garlic sauce. The tabbouleh tasted fresh but the mint flavor was just too strong that it overpowered it all. A nice unexpected find! read more

Gyro Plus is a great local spot for some Mediterranean bites and has a great menu variety for meat and vegan/vegetarian lovers alike. The restaurant is placed in a plaza next to Zeezenia International Market so there's a good amount of parking. I was greeted by a friendly older man who gave me a few minutes to look over their extensive menu. I was in the mood for some great veggie options or platter. I decided on the vegan falafel platter which comes with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and salad which consist of pickles, lettuce, and tomato. I also ordered a side of baba ganoush, which is one of my favorite side dishes. The food took about 7 mins and it came out a little under $20. I did this as a to go order, so I was excited to try this once I was home. So the platter had about 4-5 falafel balls that were crispy yet moist on the inside. They were bursting with a lot of flavor and were very filling. There was also a side of white sauce or tahini I believe however, I used the hummus and baba ganoush for dipping purposes. The hummus was very creamy and savory. This is one of the best hummus I've had. The tabbouleh can be a hit or miss due to the herb mixture of mint and parsley - but this one deserves an A. If you have never tried tabbouleh, this is a salad that is made up of parsley, mint, tomato, bulgur, onion, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. I have also seen tabbouleh with pomegranate in place of tomatoes. This was refreshing in addition to the hummus and falafel. It's like a palate cleanser. Lastly, the baba ganoush...I could not stop eating this. Literally I could've eaten this with a spoon it was so creamy and delicious. Gyro Plus is as authentic as they come! I can not believe I have not been to this place before, but I will be back to try one of their vegan desserts and other platters that they offer. read more

The gyros here are excellent. They are loaded with meat, but not to the point where the ratio is thrown off. The falafel is also amazing, but a bit pricey considering you are only given 3 pieces. The service is alright and the guy can come off as a tad bit aggressive, but by no means is he rude. The interior is alright. It is definitely made to be a quick-stop restaurant and it does a good job at that. It is very clean during the times I have went, except one time where there were some crumbs sitting on the table. I will say that the sweets and pastries displayed are very oily and the ones I have had are very sweet. Some of the best, freshest falafel I've ever had -- and I used to eat regularly at Mamoun's in the West Village (NYC)! Lots of vegan/vegetarian options as well as delicious meat options. I visited Gyro Plus for the first time in May 2024. I tried the lentil soup and zataar pie as well as an order of fries. The lentil soup was watery with very few lentils. The zataar pie was nice if you want a very light veggie option. I really wanted the spinach pie but they were sold out. The fries were piping hot! I also got a pistachio baclava and walnut baclava. They were a bit small so I'm glad I got two. The dining area is simple and brightly lit with fluorescent lighting. They have a condiments counter and self-service cleanup. The next time I visit, I'll try their gyro and hope that they have spinach pie. While I was there, they received several food delivery orders but the dining area was empty. The restaurant in a small strip mall off the south bound lane of hwy 441 (13th St). If you have a few extra minutes, visit the Mediterranean grocer in the same strip mall. read more

This place is very authentic. It is very reasonably priced and the owner is great. We got one falafel and one beef wrap. Both were very good, but I were prefer more meat/falafel in the wrap.
