Let me be honest, the pizza here is just fine. But THE SALAD IS AMAZING! I've been coming here for years, it's been great to see how this place has grown and become more funky/fun. Used to, you'd eat in Paris or London (the name of the tables), but now you have a dedicated server and can pay with a credit card. The pizza is pretty solid if nothing special. I like that it's easy to customize and the slices are generous. The salad is the most amazing thing and very hearty. I always buy the dressing and try to make it at home. Yet I can never quite get the right amount of love in it. Over the years, I think some of the veggies aren't being chopped quite as fine (particularly the cucumber doesn't seem to be seeded any more). It's still delicious. This place is great for kids of all ages, which is a real bonus. They have an indoor play kitchen and a few toys. Then there are two different play places in different parts of the restaurant. And, of course, they have pizza, a kid's favorite! The sweet tea and cokes (house made) are great, too. We've never had their desserts. But we love the presentation (in a viewmaster thing). There's tons to explore and experience. They have live music all the time. The service has always been great. And don't forget to round up for a local charity! I enjoy this place so much. We had the caramelized onion bacon and meatball pizza. This is a stable in Gainesville's. The roundness and boldness of flavors makes this pizza such a desirable place to order from. This place is best as a takeout. I had their famous Tammy Ranch, and it didn't do it for me, but it was good. I couldn't put my finger on it but it felt more like flavored mayo than it being a component that makes up ranch. Nonetheless the flavors of the pizza were delicious. We called our order ahead and it was ready and fresh. After seeing bumper stickers everywhere we decided to check out Satchel's. If there was an award for most fascinating and eclectic restaurant, they would win hands down!!! We showed up on graduation day so our wait was about 45 minutes. With so much to look at we didn't mind. I was so intrigued. I couldn't help but take so many photos. I wanted to explore it all! The place was packed, elbow to elbow. I had so much fun walking around and seeing all the art. I had a blast on the swing. There was so much to see. In one of the bathrooms, the walls were covered with children's games. And you won't have to worry about running out of toilet paper because there were a bunch of holders. We got seated outside. Our server came quick but gave us enough time to order. I ordered a pesto pizza with extra sausage and tomatoes. It took about 30 minutes to get our pizza but we knew it would take longer because of how busy it was. When I got my pizza it was piping hot. Pulled a slice off and it was loaded with sausage. A meat pizza! Impressive!!! It was delicious. The right amount of sauce. The slices were large. I liked it a lot. When we finished eating pizza the server brought the dessert menu. The coolest menu ever: it was a viewfinder!!!!! I had to order dessert just because of the menu. I got the chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. It was a huge piece, moist, and the frosting had the right amount of sweet. It was worth every calorie. I was so excited about my food I forgot to take pictures. Oops! I can't wait to go back. Pizza was very good, super thin in the middle with an inch high of crust on the outside ring. Very Pricy though...$30 for a medium 14 inch pie. They did have real sugar soda which is exceptional! This is my second time visiting Satchel's and it was just as tasty as I remembered. The pizza was delicious, although they could've extended the sauce and cheese a little further to the edge because the crust was about 3 inches. Our waitress was a bit odd. We ordered ricotta cheese on half but apparently she submitted the order with ricotta on the whole pie and was giving us a hard time that she couldn't change it. Meanwhile, it was about 30 seconds afterward so she could've just walked back to the kitchen and told them. She ended up fixing it, but it was off-putting. We were also informed when we were seated that gratuity was included, and that the bill could not be split. This might be helpful info for larger parties. Revised opinion to 5/5! Again, satchel's is quirky and unique which is already such a draw but on this visit, the complaints I had last time were completely resolved. I got the meatball instead of the sausage this time and it was delicious. Additionally, the crust was not as rock-like as last time, still able to maintain its structure but crispy instead of crunchy. I'm so glad the crust is edible because the garlic flavor was delicious and I'm glad I didn't have to skip it this time. Also I've gotten to try several different toppings, none of which disappoint. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and are open 11am to 10pm five days a week and closed Sunday and Monday. Sauce cheese and crisp are amazing! I didn't think it would live up to the hype but it surpassed it! As for the restaurant itself it looks like an artist dream!
