Have been here a couple times and honestly I love it every time. Adding to the part that you can get anything on it with the speciality or the build your own, or a one topping, or a simple cheese pie. I like that I can get my own personal pie and not have to share. I love the idea. I always want a simple one topping or the red vine just the way it is and my husband likes to add things like olives which I can't stand. When we used to order pizza I would usually sit there and pick out all the olives and peppers... but I would still taste it. So for me blaze is THE PIZZA place I like to go to! Where you go down the line, similar to chipotle, choosing from sauce, cheeses, meat, veggies and finishes. The experience is very personal since they label your order with your name and are greeted by each employee that handles your pizza or rings you out. In total it took less than 5 min once the pizza was put in the oven. The pizza is a thin crispy crust creation of your own that is simple yet delicious. Different crusts to choose from as well as different sauce options. The staff was friendly, however there is some ironing out to do there. I'm not sure if this blaze is newly opened or not, but the way the staff was working it seemed like it was newly opened. If you enjoy fast food and pizza, give blaze a go! I'm glad I decided to give Blaze another try. They had a fundraiser for homeless dogs, so of course I wanted to help those furballs. It was insanely busy when I came in, I read that on nights when Blaze does fundraisers it gets very busy. When I left the line was out the door, but I am genuinely impressed with how efficient everything was. The line, though long, moved smoothly and relatively quickly given how many people were ahead of us. I got a simple pie - same as I got last time - but with the high rise dough. I am a big fan!! I enjoyed it quite a bit more than the regular crust. It was perfectly cooked and it was delicious. I also got a chocolate chip cookie with sea salt... WOW. It was fantastic. My husband really enjoyed his pizza and while I was there I picked up some food for people I was meeting up with afterwards and they all enjoyed it. I'll definitely be going back. My fiance and I decided to try Blaze Pizza for the first time today. She was so excited she put the order in at 10 am for a 5:50 pickup. She arrives on time to learn her pizza isn't even in the oven yet, in fact, they were still making hers. My pizza was almost done at this point. She watches them making pizzas and one drops on the floor; guess whose it is? That's right. So they begin the stressful task of making her pizza again. Finally, they put the pizza in the oven, but soon realize they made it completely wrong. The pizza finally gets made and we wait. Meanwhile, my pizza is out of the oven and ready to go, which doesn't help. Nothing was offered to compensate for the nonsense that has just occurred. My pizza is now being reheated in the oven because it's as cold as the current air outside. 45° Fahrenheit. We'll now choose anywhere else to get pizza. Way to go. I've been to Blaze several times and I am very familiar with how everything goes down. Two people that definitely stood out the most to me today was Mohammed and Stephen. I've returned to Blaze since writing my original review and I have to say, I love the concept but I hate the execution. The toppings are all hideously over-seasoned, the sauce isn't particularly tasty, and the service unfortunately isn't what it was when the store originally opened. Normally, I either finish my meal or take home leftovers, but at this visit I didn't even care to wrap up the leftover slices. I don't think we'll be returning. read more

This is my favorite pizza place in the capital region, Upbeat place with great food and great customer service , Went there Yesterday and had a different experience , The normal Fast and pleasant cashier was not on, had to wait in line to be cashed out way longer than usual . Finally when someone did come to ring me out, they had no idea what they were doing & rude as all get out. Blaze Pizza is awesome. It is a trendier version of the "Top My Pizza" model. Basically it is a make your own personal pizza assembly line ah la chipotle model. This pizza crust is really just a delivery system for a ton of toppings and wacky combinations. The more toppings you pile on the better it gets. If you looking for killer NY style pizza Marisa's Place on New Karner is the place to go. Defazios in Troy makes a pretty good thicker crust. Little Bites in Latham does the best heavy Upstate style. The one and only chain pizza I truly enjoy! Their pies are awesome. I love that every pie is made fresh and served hot. Every topping you could ask want, they have it. Their drink selection has a good mix of non-traditional items (highly recommend the blood orange lemonade). The cons? The place can get mobbed at times. It's a good mix of college kids and families. I try to time my visits during non-peak hours bc it's not uncommon for the line to be all the way to the door. Even ordering ahead for a to-go order sometimes means waiting 20 minutes. I am super pleased with the responsiveness of the manager as well as the staff service I received. It was a HUGE difference visiting my 2nd time around. I ordered the custom pizza and it was very good. I was also impressed by the quality of customer service I received while there. So we put it on half of the pizza and then I got all of the toppings I wanted. I thought it was so cool that I could get whatever I wanted on the pizza. Surprisingly decent pizza, but chincy and not very friendly staff. I went here on a Friday night around 6pm and there was only a small line. The seating area seemed a bit dim and gloomy but I was looking for takeout anyway. I was bothered that their menu board only faced in one direction, not towards the line that is waiting to order, but towards the people that already put their order in. I was awkwardly leaning over someone else to look at the board as I got towards the front of the line. I've never been so ill prepared to order. They have pre-stretched doughs waiting to be dressed up next to the person that takes your general order. Also, when you walk in, there's a window where two workers were eagerly making the doughs. It is definitely an interesting process. Having been to Italy, I have quite high standards for fast fired pizza. This pizza was between mediocre and above average. I can't quite bring myself to say this is great pizza, but it's decent. It satisfied my pizza cravings. I ended up ordering a build-your-own for $7.95 (it was about an 11" pizza). I began with asking for the spicy sauce, which had a nice kick and whole pieces of roasted garlic. Next, I asked for traditional mozzarella and parmesan. The woman took a serving spoon, measured out the cheese and put it on my pizza. She ended up doing this twice, but the result was giant gaps of cheese-less pizza around the edges. I asked for some more cheese and she just took a small handful and addressed the outer edges a little better. It wasn't perfect, but I didn't want to bother to ask for more. She then past the pizza to the guy next to her. This whole process was sort of awkward and impersonal. The people seemed rushed and less than joyful to be there. The first topping I asked for was pepperoni. The guy picked up a small handful of pepperoni and placed 7 regular sized slices of pepperoni on my pizza..."Um, can I have more pepperoni on that?". The worker wordlessly grabbed some more pepperoni and placed it a bit more generously on my pizza. It was like pulling teeth trying to get ingredients on my pizza! There are three stations total, but there was no rhyme or reason to them. The first station had most of the meat, but some other items too like spinach. When I asked for spinach, he said they put it on at the end..."oh, okay". Then why was it at the first station? Moving on to the next person I began ordering my veggies: mushrooms, jalapenos, green peppers, roasted red pepper, cherry tomatoes. I liked their variety of vegetables, they even had zucchini if I wanted it. Finally, the last station I asked for spinach and pesto. She actually put a decent amount of spinach on my pizza! But apparently the pesto goes on after the pizza is baked. The overall set up was strange to me because even though they pass the pizza down the line, some of the stations have some of the same ingredients. It wasn't organized very well in my opinion. I ended up paying for my pizza and waiting three minutes while it cooked. I watched as the oven guy constantly moved the pizza around to get them cooked evenly and the server worker scrape the edges of the pizza with a pizza cutter upon being taken out of the oven. It was an interesting process. I'm sure they got the process down quite well the day they were giving free ones away. Before he packaged my pizza up, I went up to ask him for pesto. He seemed a little put off for disrupting his rhythm. They were all working at such a fast pace. As for the actual pizza, it wasn't bad. The crust was super thin and borderline like cardboard, but when I got to the edges the crust actually had a good flavor; a nice balance of buttery and salty with a crispness. One side of my crust though was a little burnt, which was disappointing. But the flavors and toppings I asked for blended well and there was enough cheese on it to my satisfaction. Overall, it is a bit unorganized and the employees have obviously been told how much of an ingredient to put on a pizza, but I was actually fond of the pizza overall. I can't decide if $7.95 for an 11" pizza is a good deal or not though. On the one hand, you don't get a lot of toppings, but, on the other hand, you can get as many toppings as you want with a build-your-own. You just have to ask, "Can you put on more of that?". I'm not sure if I'll come back here or not. I much prefer Little Anthony's pizza or my own, but I'm sure if some friends wanted to hit this place up, I would not be opposed. read more

The boyfriend and I checked this location out on a Friday night and the line was almost to the door. The line went smoothly and all of the employees were nice and helpful. We each had build your own pizzas (unlimited toppings) and shared a fountain drink, which totaled $20. The inside was clean and there was an employee walking around cleaning up and cleaning off tables after customers left (it again was very busy). It was cool to see a window where, while waiting in line, we could watch the dough being made. There are numerous bottles of hot sauce, sriracha, parmesan cheese, oregano, crushed red pepper and garlic powder throughout the restaurant and conveniently located above the trash receptacles and by the drinks. They do have a dessert: s'mores. They also have a selection of small salads in a cooler with bottled drinks. One thing I would love to see would be garlic knots or breadsticks. Pretty good pizza place. I like the concept of making your own pizza. My boyfriend customized his own pizza. He had the spicy sauce which wasn't THAT spicy even though the workers said it was. It does have a slight kick as an aftertaste. I, on the other hand, wanted to try their Green Stripe Signature pizza because I wanted some pesto action. It was pretty good. I give a 3/5 because I have tried other custom pizza places and my favorite is Pieology which I think has a bigger selection of things to pick from. But since Blaze is the only custom pizza place in this area, it's a great place to get your personalized pizza at an affordable price. If you decide to go, I recommend not going too crazy with the toppings because if you add too much, the crust doesn't come out as crispy and that's the best part. read more
