We came in here after a long day of travel, about an hour before they closed (seems like everything else around here closes at 8!). We were not disappointed at all. The staff were all so friendly, and knowing it was our first time here, they were so helpful with the self pour explanation. Roderick was our waiter, so friendly, and obviously happy to work there. The menu has something for everyone, and our food was so good. It doesn't matter where you sit, it's the best spot in the house for watching sports on the large tv's! What a great concept! We stopped by Blast & Brew on our way home driving up the coast to our home in Merced and we had a great time trying all the different beers they have on tap here. The food was great and came out quick. They seemed busy (maybe understaffed?) but the bartender, Zach, made sure we felt relaxed and always made sure we had what we needed. Our server was great. He had lots of suggestions for the menu. The beer wall self-serve was cool. The food was good. The only thing I would say we didn't like about the restaurant was there was too many flies. Two self-service cards didn't work. Staff said they were finicky. Two beers I wanted yielded no beer, yet the display did not give the user any indication. When I informed the staff about the kegs being dry, he was ambivalent. White wine had tons of tiny bubbles in it. My wife would not finish it. Several food items were unavailable. It was challenging to get the staff's attention to check out. The approach to self-service is novel. This place's execution is lacking. We have no desire to return. During crazy times with covid, I find it hard to believe a place like this would be as dirty as it is. We even had dirty silverware with the worse possible service. Waited a half hour just for a water refill while the "manager" walked around like a snail doing absolutely nothing to get the place organized and cleaned. Instead of swear of sweeping the floors, he thought it was a good idea to use a blower on the floors around peoples food and drinks. No social distancing at the bar area. In fact looks like windows have food stuck in there since who knows when. Hope they can get it together. read more

Went here last week with my oldest, and it served two purposes: one - we were both super hungry and two - we were able to do some beer, cider, and wine tasting. First of all, I love the space. It's open and inviting. It feels a little like a pub, a little like a pizza place, and the monitors on the walls made it feel like a sports bar. Good ambience. Second - the taps. I love the business model of giving the customer a card that is assigned to them so that they can go and try out all the beer, cider and wine they want. As a customer, I really liked that I could just take a tiny bit of something to try it without paying for a full glass. I also appreciated that the cost for a full glass is clearly listed, as is a description of each selection. I knew how much each selection was by the ounce, and the organization was very easy to understand. We had a lot of fun trying out different beers and ciders. The menu is terrific, and we started off with a pretzel to share. I loved the sauces and the pretzel was so good. Definitely worth trying. For pizza, my oldest had a build-your-own, and I had a Farmers Market, which has a white sauce and vegetables. We both loved our pizzas, the crust was perfectly done (no soggy crust!), and the vegetables tasted very fresh and not charred or burnt. Our waitress didn't rush us, and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite places! read more

It's definitely a great place to come in and have a beer, or two! I do love the huge variety of beers that they have on tap. I'm not even a big drinker myself and I like it. The concept of using a card to keep track of your beer purchases is amazing! You just turn your card in when you leave and pay your bill. It works well but it can get out of control with your money if you don't pay attention. The food is good. Not great but, good. I wasn't really all that impressed with the pizzas. The wings were spot on perfect! They also have lots of TV's for the people who need their sports fix. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I liked how they show the first timers how the pour your own beers thing and the card work. It's simple but, it's nice to get a first time run through. It's definitely a great place to hang out for some appetizers and some drinks. I just don't think I would order a pizza again. read more

Whatever you do, get at least a cup of the Tri-Tip chili. Exceeded all expectations!!!

This place is great in concept and got off to a pretty strong start. However it seems to have gone downhill pretty fast in three big areas: 1) On the first trip all beer taps were flowing with a good selection and some interesting beers. Now, about one third of the taps are empty and those running are pretty standard middle of the road stuff. 2) Pizzas aren't as good as they were on the first couple of visits. Toppings seem to have become pretty skimpy. 3) Service has deteriorated. Servers seem confused and sometimes overwhelmed with trying to keep up with food and the drink cards. It's still with a visit and maybe they can recover by working on the beer selection and other correctable problems. read more

We live 10 blocks away, and have only been here one other time... and the service was SO bad, that the manager comped our meal and apologized over and over. So we tried again, just tonight! Walked in and immediately the server said, 'You can sit on this side of the restaurant' and pointed to one side. We looked around and thought, it's so nice out let's sit outside. I asked her if we could sit on the patio and she looked at us, rolled her eyes, and said I GUESS. First of all it's 8 freaking O'clock downtown Paso and you have 2 tables! It's a whopping 8 feet away from the table we were at! It's beautiful outside and we wanted to sit on the massive patio and were denied. Disgusting. I will never come back to this place ever again. Slap the card onto the card reader pour your drink and then check out the price. The hostess was very nice, and told us we can wait at the bar first. So went to go grab a beer and our buzzer went off after 5 min. I was very excited, because I was starving. We sat down and were talked to and explained how it all worked in a timely manner. They have a great beer selection, and it's pretty straight forward process. We decided to share a Make your own pizza! You simply fill out the sheet, and give it to the server. We stopped in this restaurant one day when we were passing through Paso Robles. I think we chose poorly. After we left the restaurant we found many other restaurants that probably would have been better options. We sat outside as it was a gorgeous day. After the hostess sat us it was at least 15 minutes until the waiter appeared with water and menus. We placed our drink and food order. The food came out 30 mins later.........no drinks. We asked about it and he said he was getting them. We finish our lunch and he brings out the sodas. We told him we didn't really need them now. He put them down on the table and walked away. He never once asked us how our meal was (very average) or if we needed anything.....more water would have been nice considering we didn't have anything to drink with our meals. We had to flag down another employee to find our waiter to get our bill. Of course he charged us for the drinks he didn't bring us until we were finished. Boo! Also, I wouldn't recommend getting brews or wines from the self-service taps.. The entire area was dirty. Empty cups everywhere, puddles of liquid, trash, and flies buzzing all over the place. There was nobody cleaning off tap handles, no hand sanitizer available, and few employees were wearing masks. read more

So halfway through our dinner our server decided to either get completely wasted drunk or do drugs because he barely made any sense when talking to us and he also decided to take off his mask. When I asked him why he took off his mask he said, "yeah we don't really care about masks here" so why wear it in the first half of our dining experience and then once you bring out our food it's off?! Went there today, our waitress was amazing. The food was pretty good as well. I was really disappointed that half of the staff was not wearing a mask even though they had a sign posted at the entrance asking that everyone help stop spreading Covid and wear a mask. The food was so delicious! The Classic Blast Burger has to be the best burger I've ever eaten in Paso Robles! Cooked perfectly medium rare, and the aioli spread made it unbelievably good! I'm gluten free and our server James was so respectful to make sure my cauliflower pizza was cooked to perfection with no cross contamination, and my friend with other dietary restrictions (vegan) highly recommends the build your own with cauliflower crust, olive oil base- artichoke hearts, black olives, red peppers, roasted zucchini squash with bbq drizzle.
