No offer to repair or refund was made. I asked for them to be repaired. It was not a warranty issue it is clearly a manufactures defect as it's on all the glasses. I have had multiple clients contact me with similar issues. They are writing testimonials for court. To date no reply to repairing the glasses. Total unethical lies about offers to repair or refund. I recently came back here after having had to go to a different provider for a few years because of an EPO plan through my employer, and I immediately remembered why I love Blackstone so much. It's such a small and friendly office, where everyone is really kind and helpful. Over the years, I've seen 3 different optometrists here and love them all. They all take the time to answer your questions--all your questions! Unlike my work EPO plan, where the optometrist didn't take the time to discuss a plan to combat computer-related eye strain with me, Dr. Tina Cheng, discussed exercises and even demoed them. :-) The appointments flow, and you're not sitting around some huge waiting room between steps. I think the people who were complaining about the office not answering the phone didn't take time to leave voicemail. I've been going to Dr. Simon for the past three years now. Every year when I get my eyes checked and new prescription filled, I am always met with exemplary service. They are always very thoughtful and communicative. Dr. Simon will even go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and clearly explain everything, that even when I'm sitting there, blind and in the dark, I don't feel like I'm visually impaired at all. Not to mention they are always well-prepared. They send reminder texts and emails, and they also get your insurance information ready before you even step into the office. They do a good job of explaining your benefits and any additional costs; you are never surprised when you go back to the front desk to pay. The office is a little bit small, and the furniture may be a little bit old, but it is clean, the equipment is well up to date, and the customer service is incomparable. I had an issue with my eye and was very scared about it. Blackstone was good enough to get me in to have it checked out within an hour or two of calling. OK, working again (YAY!) and have good insurance. Because I'm lazy and this place is only a few blocks from me, I decided to give them another try. UGH! Walked in on a Sat., no one there but the guy behind the counter. I waited patiently while he finished a call...and waited...and waited...and waited. Once he was done, I asked about some RayBan frames like I had before. He said the frames alone were over $200 and then tried to sell me some cheap frames with the lenses I requested. Price came to over $450 with my insurance!!! Thankfully, I told the lad I wanted to call around and see what else was available. Turned out I was able to get the RayBan frames I wanted, w/ top of the line RayBan lenses, with all the extras for $220 delivered! I'm done with Blackstone for good. read more

I have been having my eye exams done here for the last four years or so. The exams are always thorough and precise. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Before I came here to Blackstone, my prescriptions from a previous service at a local HMO were always slightly off and I struggled to pass basic mandatory eye charts. Blackstone gets my prescription corrected (at least in one eye) to 20-20 which allows me to easily pass mandatory driving and work eye exams. read more

I needed a new prescription because I've been woking from home and staring at my computer endlessly (hello eye strain!!! not a cute feeling). Anyways, I was feeling extremely hesitant about coming in for an eye check up because of COVID and how tight and busy the office can be. I left a message to book an appointment and was completely satisfied by how Nancy assisted me over the phone from start to finish. For example, she informed me what the safety protocols were , helped me find my insurance information quickly, and answered ALL my questions about the initial appointment. I had a lot of specific requests with my order and yet Nancy was super patient and helpful throughout the process. What an ANGEL! She was super friendly, helpful, and kind! I have been going to Blackstone Optometry for almost a decade and I have never wanted to switch optometrists. I am so happy that I have vision insurance and that I am able to use it here. Their eye examinations are very thorough and technologically current. Dr. Cheng is good at staying up-to-date along with his staff. They have the best customer service here. Everyone is knowledgeable and knows what they're doing. They explain everything to you from what each test is for, to which frames or contacts would be good for you and why. They have a great selection of current and stylish eyeglasses and sunglasses. They even provide rebates for your contacts' order to help you save more money and lower the price. I always feel welcome and comfortable here. They answer all my questions and even when I have trouble with my frames, they are able to fix them. On a couple of occasions, I have brought in vintage frames that I needed to put prescription lenses in and they were able to do them both times as if I bought the glasses already with my exact prescription. Their work was flawless and you can't even tell that the lenses were replaced. I hope to continue with Blackstone Optometry as long as I can and if I move, I will surely miss them. Located in a great area too with amazing restaurants in walking distance. Parking is street parking, but I've never had a problem finding parking nearby. read more

They have awful Customer Service and they are blaming it on employees staff shortages. I called the office over my sons contacts and they screamed my calls and never return my messages. Then I called using my sons cell phone number and they answered the phone and were surprised that it was me on the other line. I believe that they are retaliating against me and my family for our political beliefs. Unfortunately they are hurting my sons eyesight by not giving him his contacts that are medically necessary for an existing condition. They were great for years until the pandemic occurred. Beyond disappointed with my experience at Blackstone Optometry. I was excited that there was an optometrist in my neighborhood that seemed to have good reviews but will definitely not be back. I visited because my eyes were so irritated that I could not wear my contacts from allergies. Dr. Roden first prescribed me drops that she prefaced as being expensive and possibly not covered by insurance. I expected them to be in the $50 range - they were well over $200. That would have been helpful to know up front. I called (twice) to ask to have this script substituted for a more affordable option. I finally received a return email with a new prescription and take it back to the pharmacy. Another $200 prescription! Seriously? My pharmacist is now working with me to try to find an alternative drop that is covered by insurance. They have called and faxed Dr. Roden with forms that would aid in this process with no response. Over a week after my pricey optometry apt and I am still unable to treat the problem I was seen for. Unbelievable. The only redeeming factor here is how pleasant the front office team is.
