Great local spot ! Staff is great. The burgers are the best around.great place for a drink and lunch or dinner

Our super-duper server (sorry I forgot her name). - A woman with curly hair is seated at a table in a bar or restaurant, smiling and holding a drink. The table has food items including fried snacks and a dip, along with glasses of water and a beverage. The background features a bar area with bottles, multiple TV screens showing sports, and other patrons seated at the bar. The setting appears lively and casual.

Great local business. Wife and I were just passing thru town, and this place was cozy, welcoming and burgers were outstanding!

Ahi tuna tacos

I decided to head for lunch out, and a few people have told me really good things about this place and they weren't lying. The first thing that I noticed was that it was really nicely decorated for Halloween, so they automatically got points in my book. The second thing was it was spotless. The bar was so clean everything was gleaming and that's really important to me. My bartender was very pleasant and answer any questions that I had about the menu. They do have some really great small plates from 3 to 6, but I was there a little bit sooner, so I just got some Ahi tuna tacos, which were out of this world also, I have to say this is probably the first place ever that the house Chardonnay was not rancid. It actually was tasty and you can't beat it at five bucks a glass.. They had a lot of good vegetarian options on the menu, which shocked me because it is an Irish bar and you don't normally see that. I was very happy with my whole experience there my only nightmare was the parking, but that's not their fault.

Chrispy Chicken roll - Chicken, lettuce, tomato, onions on a roll - Two sandwiches with bread rolls, lettuce, tomato, and sliced meat are presented on a white square plate. A small metal basket of French fries is placed in the center of the plate. The setting includes a fork on the left, a knife on the right, and a glass of dark soda in the background. The plate is on a wooden table with a green paper liner underneath.

Stopped for lunch at Blackjack Mulligans Irish Pub in Hawthorne, NJ. The husband/wife team and chef are owner operators. They were fun, personable and provided exceptional service. You can dine in the bar area or dinning room, both have TV's set up making this a great destination as a sports bar, group gatherings or family. We ordered the Garlic Shrimp appetizer, it was flavorful and balanced. The garlic butter lemon sauce was great for dipping the bread, fries and we took the remainder home to serve over pasta. The crispy chicken on the sandwich roll was hand breaded, had great taste and with the added crispy bacon was a great choice. The fries were very crispy and hot. I was going to order the cajun dusted fries(forgot), but the regular were very good. The cheese quesadilla with chicken was great with lots of meat, onions, peppers and gooey cheese, I would recommend the addition of guacamole/avocado in the future. The portions are large so we took home the leftovers to enjoy later. If you're in the neighborhood, this is a great place for lunch!

Food was great

Food was great. My friend reccomended this place.. it was pretty packed for a Wednesday night im guessing because it was trivia night. The food was palatable, we had garlic shrimp, pierogies,, grilled rib eye steak with mashed potatoes/ veggies and pasta with shrimp covered with crab meat..

Stopped in after hearing that this is the place to go at the end of the night. It's just up the road in Hawthorne, so easy enough to get to. There is an inside bar that's dark, moody and had karaoke. Then there is a brighter outside bar that's closed in and has sports on big screens. Seemed like there was an age difference between the two spaces, also. Inside was an older more serious crowd, and outside was a young, more casual group. We sat outside and ordered a couple of beers and loaded fries. The bartender was attentive. The boiler maker fries were typical pub food & the draft beer was cold. It was a good second stop.

French Onion Soup - A ceramic bowl filled with French Onion Soup topped with melted, browned cheese. The bowl is placed on a white plate with a napkin underneath, and a metal spoon rests beside it. The setting appears to be in a restaurant with a wooden table, napkins, and a dark beverage in the background.

Took a spur of the moment trip here for lunch with some friends. Our waitress was so kind and friendly. The menu is extensive with so many options that sounded good. Ended up getting the French onion soup for myself and my friends for a pulled pork sandwich and chicken fingers. Everything was so tasty- after a few bites we were talking about coming back and trying other things. Limited seating but that's to be expected.. interested in seeing the wait time during a weekend for dinner. I will 1000% be back.

Outdoor sidewalk seating with multiple tables, chairs, and umbrellas outside Blackjack Mulligan's Irish pub in Hawthorne, NJ. The pub has a brick exterior with black awnings displaying the name. A signboard hangs above the entrance, and an American flag is visible. Parked cars line the street, and utility poles with wires are present. The scene is set during daylight with a clear sky.

I went to blackjack mulligans for Thursday night football with a few friends and I walked in an hour before and there was no seating at either bar and barely any tables available. I had to find someone to seat me and was going back and forth from the inside and outside area trying to find a spot for us. We finally got seated in the outside area which was pretty cool. The service was good until 30 minutes before the game started and it went down hill from there. Me and my friends ordered food and it came out really fast because it was before game time but if I wanted to order anything after that it was near to impossible. You had 1 waitress for 50 people and she did her best but couldn't keep up with the demand and she had no one helping her so it took about 10 minutes to get my next round of drinks. As the night was coming to an end we paid the bill and the waitress was sitting by the bar and I went to give her our bill and thanked her for her help as she was talking to other another coworker (busboy). After I walked away the busboy was making fun of my physical appearance to the waitress and a friend of there's and they were all laughing really loud and looking in my direction knowing they were talking about me because when I looked there way they all looked away. It ruined my night and I'm still feeling very bad about it. In an establishment like this or any no one should feel that uncomfortable or be treated that way even if the workers are tired and it's the end of the night. I would suggest going there if you want to get a couple drinks with some friends but there are plenty other places to go for a night out with friends. Blackjack's you need to do better, staff your establishment accordingly, and tell your employees to have some respect for the customers that are providing you business.

Chicken tacos - Three chicken tacos topped with shredded cheese, lettuce, and sauce are arranged on a white plate on a restaurant table. The table has a pink placemat, a glass of water, a glass of iced drink with lemon, a crumpled napkin, and a fork. The setting suggests a casual dining environment with beverages and food presentation.

Place is very nice! Great for UFC fights. We were here for about 5 hours for the fight and we had a great experience. Matt (the manger) came to our table and was very polite and accommodating to what we wanted to watch. Matt explained to us when the fights would be on and how the volume would work. Matt knows how to manage! Andy was very attentive as we asked him to put the fight on early for the prelims. I got a gimlet and a shot while my boyfriend got a margarita. The drinks were very good. I was very satisfied. For food I got the sliders - they were delicious!!! My friends got penne vodka, quesadillas, and chicken tacos. Overall, we had a good experience after all the hassle of getting the fight on. Not sure why our waitress couldn't have the manager come over sooner to talk to us - she acted as if it was nearly impossible to speak with him. Again, he was very great - polite, & accommodating.

Great wings. Irish fare with a twist. It's a spot. Good for a night out with the great unwashed.

Kind of pricey. I really like the French onion soup and the wings. The wings are reasonably priced on their 3-6 weekday specials.

In addition to having a full size bar and main dining area, the walls are adorned with very attractive wall art. Thai Chili Wings: The wings have a perfect blend of sweet and spice. As always, the blue cheese dipping sauce is the backbone to this appetizer. Bavarian Pretzel: In lieu of being shaped into a knot, the bavarian pretzel looks like a hot dog. I may not agree with the appearance, but I 100% agree with the taste. The pretzels are war and crispy on the outside while soft and doughy on the inside. And don't be shy with those helpings of pretzel salt! Steak and Arugula Sandwich: This tender, superb sandwich was cooked medium rare and served with sauteed onions & mushrooms on ciabatta bread. Classic BLT: Served on Texas toast, this sandwich has an addition of mayonnaise and avocado to supplement the three primary ingredients. Crab Cake Sandwich: For an Irish pub, this was an excellent seafood sandwich. The crab cake was breaded with panko crumbs and had a variety of toppings. The chipotle aioli sauce was the backbone to this boneless meal. As a bonus, this pub hosts special events throughout the week from Trivia Night to live bands. This pub serves excellent meals and it goes to show you don't need alcoholic drinks or cocktails for a great dining experience! #celticcorner #hawthornenj #irishpub #thaichiliwings #bavarianpretzels #steaksandwich #BLT #CrabCakeSandwich #eats #localspots #foodreview #foodstagram #njfoodie

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

He was a big help in answering any question I had. Our party was roughly 25 people and we reserved the back room for the party. The back room was big enough for all of us to fit comfortably without it feeling cramped. We ordered the apps ahead of time and were told that they would be ready at 5:30. Sure enough, at 5:30 all of the apps came out and they were a big hit. Everything was fantastic. We got some large pizzas, nachos, mozzarella sticks, potstickers, and calamari. There was practically nothing left. The entree's were great and came without delay. I didn't hear a single complaint from any of the guests. I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about our waiter for the night, Alan. I don't think I've ever seen someone be so on top of things before. He handled the whole room essentially by himself and somehow it never seemed like there was a single hiccup the whole night. He was beyond excellent. He was such a good communicator and kept me in the loop with timelines and was overall very organized. He played a significant role in the night going as well as it did. It barely had onions in it and it was a twist to the normal original French onion soup. I was quite disappointed. The kids pizza wasn't fully cooked on the bottom. The Mac and cheese had a weird taste to it. The slice steak had zero flavoring to it. Great food, great space and GREAT service…read more We dropped in at around 5:45 PM on an early Friday evening and had NO IDEA this restaurant was as big as it was once we got in. Although it looks quite modest on the outside, this restaurant actually has THREE dining rooms inside. Yes, THREE! The main dining room contains the bar and classic tavern booth seats, while the 2nd and 3rd dining rooms have your typical tables with chairs. We were seated in the last dining room, which probably was the largest of them all. The menu was very typical of your neighborhood pub/tavern - simple appetizers, burgers/sandwiches, salads and entrees. As we always did, we had already done research ahead of time and knew what we were ordering even before we stepped in. For our kids, we ordered the Kids Mac & Cheese and Kids Burger Sliders with American cheese and French fries. Both came with a beverage and ice cream. My better half got the restaurant's self-proclaimed 'Famous' Sliced Steak Dinner with a Baked Potato and I ordered the Prime Rib Cheesesteak topped with cheddar, peppers, garlic aioli, and onions served with a side of fries. First, the Kids meals. The Kids Mac & Cheese was LEGIT. None of that Kraft stuff. This was real, authentic, fresh cooked on the stovetop Mac & Cheese. The Kids Burger Sliders were 3 oz each and were pretty big. I had a small piece of one and it was shockingly goooooood. They were expectedly well done, but still very good despite the fact that they were not medium. As for the 'Famous' Sliced Steak Dinner, the sliced pieces of steak were tender, juicy and flavorful. Don't think we've ever had a sliced steak meal quite like this one and it was verrrrrrry, verrrry good. As for my Prime Rib Cheesesteak, dare I say it was probably better than some Philly Cheesesteaks I've had in Philly??????? YES, I said it! The bread was pillowy super soft and the chopped up pieces of cheesesteak were delicious with the toppings. There isn't much happening in the downtown Glen Rock area, so it's not hard to proclaim The Glen Rock Inn as possibly the best restaurant in the area. However, with that said, the food was great, the amount of space inside of the restaurant was more than multiple restaurants combined and the service from every single employee we encountered was fantastic. Even if The Glen Rock Inn was located in a dining hotbed, like Ridgewood, it would still be close to the top of my list of places to dine at in these neck of the woods.
