Let me start by saying, I'm not a fan of this place at all. There are many other local bars that are much better then this place and I'm kind of upset I've had the pleasure of "Checking-in" to this place enough times to be the former "Duke". This place is nothing special, just your typical outdated Irish Pub. Wood floors, wood bar with cheap plastic top, wood paneling all over the walls, bright lights on and a few tables that look like they belong in a school cafeteria... The only reason i have come here is because a lot of my friends come here for some reason i cannot quite wrap my head around. There are bars within 10 minute drives of this place that are much nicer or even have cheaper drinks if you wanna go that route. This place is a just a regular bar with regular prices, mediocre bar food that closes their kitchen earlier then most bars, and no women bar tenders. The only thing this place has going for them is they have $1 Coors light mugs during certain sports games like if the Yankees are playing and stuff. They also have towers which you can get for like $26 or something which is cool to drink with a group. If i never came back to this place i wouldn't lose sleep over it. I am giving it 2 stars on my review because its not that bad or gross. I just don't like the fact a lot of people praise this place when its not even a cool dive bar or anything, its just a sub-par Irish Pub. Walked into JJs and felt like I walked into 1980. The bar had a few scary patrons and the place is gross. The chairs are ripped and the decor is dirty. A great place to relax and have a drink (or 2). This is a blue collar place with good service to match its good food and drink options. They have some of the best hamburgers around for a small local pub. Daily specials are posted for lunch and dinner some really good options too. If you are coming here and expecting to be blown away don't bother wasting the time of the staff and other blue collar types who populate this place. I was pretty surprised reading the reviews about this place Because my experience was very bland. We came to watch Sunday football, have some beers and some food. It is definitely a locals bar. Bartender was pretty unfriendly-I wanted a Bloody Mary but got the impression he'd be pretty annoyed with me for asking so I stuck with a $7 bud lite pitcher (which is a good deal!). I ordered chicken fingers and onion pedals. The chicken was meh but the onion pedals were decent. Fried food is pretty standard, however, the food tasted like it was cooked in old oil. They only have a very narrow menu during Sunday football games and you WILL be told that you can "ONLY ORDER FROM THE SUNDAY MENU" if you try to order anything else. There are plenty of TVs and all of the games were on. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd go back here for beer and to watch the games, maybe. I think there's a parking lot but we parked on the street. A good old bar that has delicious food. My husband and I had a beer and a girly drink. He had the soup du jour and I had an app special. Huge portions and scrumptious. For dinner, I had the roast beef with mozzarella and gravy. It is had a soft roll that it felt like it had mashed potatoes instead of a roll. My husband had a chicken and with bacon and some sort of sauce with seasoned fries. The thing was huge. It was on 2 sausage rolls. It was delicious as he said. I found my old Greasy Nicks burger from the New Rochelle (aka Leno's Clam Bar)! As a young guy we would play golf at Pelham/Split Rock Golf courses and the topper was a trip to Greasy Nicks afterwards for some clams, corn on the cob and a classic Greasy Nicks Cheeseburger on a Kaiser roll with all the fixings and Fries. I wanted to give 3.5 stars but i was feeling nice and decided to round up. JJs pub is a local favorite of mine for sunday football. I used to come here more frequently (every sunday and for notre dame games) than I do now but there is no reason for this except i have cut down on my drinking. Its got a nice sized L shaped bar with ample seating. Bartenders are friendly enough. At peak times it can be hard to get a drink. One bartender on duty during football games? Not really a recipe for quick service. Wide variety of bottled beers and tap beers. Average price for bottles ($3-$4) and average price for shots as well 4-5 bucks. Not really into mixed drinks so not quite sure of the price. Best part of JJs is the specials on Sundays. 1 dollar mugs and towers of beer at a good price. Sunday food menu is pretty solid as well. The food is good not great but more than gets the job done for pub food. Chicken wings are pretty good. The chili as well is quite good. Wide variety of sliders which are also pretty delicious. Decent amount of parking. If main lot is full there is a lot next door and one across the street. Crowd varies in age. Some regulars tend to get extremely loud n rowdy. They are usually older gentlemen. The one time i was there an older man fell asleep standing up with his head on the bar. So i guess they over serve patron. Big buck hunt video game in the back serves as entertainment as well. Also have dart boards for the bar athletes. Abundance of tvs and the nfl and mlb package allow you to catch any game you could possibly fathom. Just be careful on your way out as cops frequently are passing by. read more

Have moved away from the area, but whenever I am back in town, JJ's is always on my must go to list. If you are looking for a pretentious, over-priced bar with watered down drinks for $15 a pop than this is not your place. If you are looking for a neighborhood bar with good pub food to watch the game, look no further.
