The dip trio was good, the spinach dip was mediocre but the hummus and guac were nice. All of our entrees were tasty - the wasabi mayo on the tuna sandwich has a good kick & they put cinnamon sugar on their sweet potato fries, two interesting but good variations from the norm. Came here for lunch on Saturday. We've never been so we're a little confused about the valet parking vs parking across the street. Agreed to valet since it was complementary and we didn't really want to cross a sort of busy street. The place itself is extremely nice inside. The bar is huge with lots of TV's playing all sorts of sports they also had a good number of booths around it. They also have a whole upstairs where you can chill when there is event nights (music, trivia, etc) They had a nice drink menu I ordered was an orange-brew creamsicle drink. Was in a large glass so was definitely worth the money and they did not water anything down. Very refreshing!! Hubby ordered an ON Tap The Bowlero Snort Donut Forget About Me (cider) which was extremely good. I ordered which is pictured a French dip with American cheese, and did an upcharge ($6.00) for Parmesan truffle fries. My sandwich was delicious. Very tender meat and the roll it came on was very fresh loved the au jus and the French Fries. I'd go back just to get those as an appetizer. My husband got the MBH filet mignon steak sandwich (w/o mushrooms) on focaccia bread... I did take a picture but it didn't save in my phone. He loved it. He's the type to eat everything on his plate and he could only finish half because it was such a nice size portion. Our server Ariel (I hope that is his name - I'm looking on my receipt and that's what it says) was so nice and attentive. He told us about the different theme nights they have, how packed they get etc. An A+ server. Found this Chill spot while visiting from out of state, great for a sports pub vibe. The drinks were on point, but the food left something to be desired. I tried the guava Thai wings, but the sauce missed the mark--neither mango nor spice came through. The curly fries were solid, and the calamari was decent, not pictured here but the marinara sauce tasted like it came straight from a can of SpaghettiOs--not appetizing at all. I've been to Midland Brew House a couple times now and I'm not itching to go back anytime soon. The first time I went middle of the week and unsurprisingly we were one of the three groups that were there. It was like a ghost town and they were cleaning up to close early because of the lack of customers. Service was okay but definitely felt rushed. The other times I went was for Trivia Night. We tried the Dip Trio and Mac and Cheese bites. Both fell extremely flat. The dips were watery and tasted like nothing. The Mac and Cheese bites were so hard it was a struggle to cut into them. They were also very dry. The only saving grace that night was their house margaritas which we were surprised by considering the let down with the food. The place is nice and when they're busy it is a nice vibe. Definitely would go there just for drinks and skip the food though. Or maybe I just need to try other things on the menu. read more

Do not go to Midland Brewhouse in Saddle River, New Jersey to waste your time! They should really stop letting the ID10T bouncer decide who can come in and who cannot, and they change the serving ages daily according to the bouncers mood. Very unprofessional, trying to bend our licenses that were legitimate-if they had a scanner, they would know, instead of allowing that not so smart bouncer make their decisions for them!! They lost a lot of business last Friday night and as we were escorted out after we were allowed in because he decided he didn't want anyone under 23 years old in the bar area any longer, and a ton of people got turned away for no reason at all! It wasn't even that crowded, which I do not understand how the owners can allow this dumb, steroid head be in charge of decisions anywhere especially THEIR business! Don't waste your time and money!!! There is a great brewery down the street so just go there and have a great time and let this bouncer, or whatever he is, get replaced by someone with a brain and that cares about the business!!! First time here visiting my parents nearby. Not impressed. Entering the parking lot and immediately had a terrible and confusing first impression. We saw a sign for "valet parking" pulling into the driveway which my husband and I laughed quizzingly at as this is just some non-descript sports bar in the middle of a run-down mostly-abandoned industrial area of town. We see another car park a hundred feet or so down into a half-filled parking lot. We proceed to park there too and then the valet guy proceeds to RUN to our car and YELL at us for parking in what is "obviously" valet parking (there is no sign saying this is a valet lot and it's not even a lot at all). He says we need to (again) "obviously" park in the church lot across the street if we don't want valet -- like parking across a four lane road in a church parking lot is intuitive. Okay then. Off to a good start. Also, turns out the valet parking here is FREE which he did not mention. So why wouldn't he just tell us this and take our keys? Or did he want us to turn around, go back to the valet stand, and then have him take our keys so he could drive the car into the exact same place??? The whole thing made no sense and was incredibly irritating. Attitude also odd and unnecessary. There were like five cars parked in the whole place folks. No, I'm not still annoyed at all. Service inside was also pretty awful. Felt worse because the restaurant was almost entirely empty, with only one or two other tables occupied. There was a host stand but no one was there to seat us. After twiddling our thumbs for a while and finally getting seated, a server did come by within a reasonable time to take our orders but after that he never came back once to see if we wanted another beverage or needed anything. We couldn't even find anyone to flag him down and literally could not find anyone to give us ketchup or a water refill. Again, empty restaurant and really dampened the mood. My parents go there often because they live down the street and said service is a consistent problem. Ambiance: Credit given as due. The space is pretty new and is really cozy, especially for a sports bar. They were also super-decorated for Christmas, including a tree, which was really cute. The space is divided into a front wraparound bar area with a few booths and a back area with traditional seating. There are large flat screen tvs in both sections but not so many as to be obnoxious or scare your girlfriend off. You could totally come here and not watch any sports. I assume that they do put the sound on for football though and that it gets pretty crowded on Sundays. I can definitely see this place giving Miller's a run for its money during football season and I think it's a great add in that respect because while Bergen county may be the retail store capital of the country, it oddly sorely lacks in sports bars. If you live here, you know. And in that case, you probably know about Midland Brew House for this reason and maybe don't need to read this review. Food: Disappointing. I had the French Onion Soup, which was pretty good although they just dumped a piece of bread in it rather than the proper crouton which was pretty gross. But I'd definitely order this if you like French Onion Soup or if the rest of this review makes you afraid to order anything else. My husband had the disco tots, consisting of tater tots, short ribs, and braised red cabbage with a side of gravy. Sometimes you gotta let kids learn by letting them fall. The tots were just Ortega tots because what more can you do with that. Fine. The short ribs were shredded and pretty tender if dry and under-seasoned and the too-vinegary cabbage really did not work at all with the dish. It also needed more gravy and ketchup but, as previously discussed, that wasn't in the cards for us at the Brew House. My mother got the burger which looked sizeable but dry and was not cooked to order. She said it was good but she says everything is good so who knows. My stepfather ordered some sort of pork sandwich (the "Roadhouse") that he said was terrible. But he says everything is terrible so who knows. They are not food sharers which is a terrible personality trait so I really do, in fact, not know. In sum, I think absolutely go to Midland Brew House if you are looking for a place to watch a game and drink some beer. I wanted to like this place, I truly did. However, I left underwhelmed. Firstly, the food was nothing memorable. Yes, it's bar food, but I've had some pub food that will knock your socks off in comparison to this place. The food at Midland Brew House simply seemed like your typical inconsistent, frozen, fare. Heat it up, throw it together, and serve it while pumping out quantity over quality. Decent selection of TV's. Seems like a good place to watch a game with friends. The place was jammed with people, so getting drinks at the bar as we hung out was quite difficult. Getting the bartender's attention was difficult several times throughout the night. This was a frustration, especially considering they would acknowledge me, then take care of people who got to the line at the bar after me. Beer selection is good. Cocktails were decent. Place feels like it turns into a club as the night goes on, which isn't my thing anymore at my age. However, I can't deduct points for that. Just putting it out there for those of you who have never been. Overall, was left underwhelmed. Decent beer list doesn't redeem the subpar food and difficulty with getting drinks ordered. This is a typical bar/restaurant. I came with a group of girls after going to dinner to celebrate a birthday. It was pretty crowded as it was a Friday night around the holidays. I've come here several times and it seems to be a hit or miss. I like that the location is convenient; it is close to my house and they have parking. My best experience here was for their brunch a while back (not sure if they still have brunch). Our waiter was attentive that visit and the food was great. I've tried several items from their regular menu and the food is pretty good but not great. I haven't left there already planning my next trip to have a dish again like I tend to do lol. I visited this past Sunday which was busy of course because of football. They have football Sunday specials which I thought was great. We ordered wings and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were good and it's 4 big ones (forgot to take a pic). The wings were ok. I understand it was football Sunday and I'm not sure if they were just short staffed but the service was terrible. We had to keep flagging our waitress down and we weren't even seeing her that often because she appeared to be covering tables in another section. The other waitress attending to some nearby tables had more of a presence. Again, it could've been because of staff shortage but I was still not pleased during my visit because neither the food or service was great. Finally ventured out to covid era indoor dining. This place is definitely big enough for social distancing. We were seated upstairs in a corner by the balcony. Started with the blackberry thyme collins - a winner in my book! Totally refreshing and well balanced. 2nd drink I tried the st Germain fizz punch - pretty good too but on the sweet side. For apps - the disco tots with short ribs were the bomb! The short ribs were slightly sweet and tots had plenty of cheese. The coal fired wings with lemon garlic butter were a good change of pace from regular wings. The onions were not caramelized enough for my taste but fine. Big mozz sticks were legit - stuffed with melty "real" mozz and better than your average mozz stick. The ahi tuna tacos were disappointing. 1. Should have asked for corn tortilla - I got soft flour. 2. Didn't see ginger in the description. I hate ginger and it overwhelmed the dish. 3. Not enough mango - could barely taste it and it was chopped as fine as the ginger. 4. Soy sauce and guac - meh. Just overall I didn't think the combination worked very well. Wouldn't order these again. Just not for me. For dessert we tried the "French toast creme brulee". My fault for not reading the description very well because I was expecting more of a custard dish but it was literally French toast bites with 3 dipping sauces. Still good but a little heavier than I could handle after all the food I ate. Nice crispy outside and fluffy inside. Had a bite of zeppole and thai calamari - both solid choices. Recently visited MBH and was pleasantly surprised. It's well kept and feels clean and upkept. We ordered drinks, blood orange margarita and strawberry cosmo, both were delicious! We also got regular fries and mozz sticks. Both came out extremely fast like 5 minutes so this makes me a little curious about the freshness but for such basic app food I can't ask for much. The mozz sticks were a little bland on the cheese part but I enjoyed how crispy and fun they were! Our server was very attentive and friendly and overall felt service and ambiance was great. My one gripe is the parking, it seems for their lot it's valet only and self park is across the street. That wasn't clear when entering on a Wednesday evening, so I wish there'd been clearer signage. Can't wait to go back! Hung out at the bar on the second floor waiting for a friend to arrive for his surprise birthday gathering. At about 8pm there was about 15-20 of us. Some of us just ordered drinks and some added food. Everyone was able to open their own tab throughout the night. Shout out to the bartenders and manager/owner. Every single person we came across was extremely attentive. True definition of teamwork. As the night went on the floor got crowded and this did not stop the workers from providing their great service. The food was outstanding!! We had the Ahi Tuna mini tacos, crispy calamari and Buffalo chicken pizza. The calamari was Thai style with pineapple, peanuts, cilantro, scallions and sweet chili. Still drooling over that! The bill was a little over $200 for two ppl. Yet, this included four shots, appetizer, two meals, and a handful of drinks throughout the night. Its a decent spot for a group and/or drinks. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and tasty. My favorite was the Insane in the Brain IPA, which was delicious. A few of us ordered steaks, and unanimously agreed that they were pretty terrible. Very poor quality meat, and not cooked well (ordered medium rare and it came out more medium). Maybe it was our fault for ordering steak at a brew house. Unfortunately the parking lot is (complimentary) valet only. I despise valeting my car, but they confirmed that I could use the Tutor time lot next door since it was closed. read more

Ahh so much potentisl. Came on a Friday night about 8ish, had a reservation but didn't really need it. They advertise for live music from a dj but that didn't happen. An eclectic crowd indeed, we did notice an outstanding amount of men with fabulous hair here, it was weird, but true! Some hot bartenders for sure! They made a strong drinks after we mentioned one drink differed taste wise from the next, exact same drink. So kudos for that. Food, well I saw a lot of Ahi on the menu so went with that. The service was very slow took about 35 to 45 min for our meals to come out. My cousin got the steamed clams, I broke my clam cherry on them and was not impressed as I came out with a mouth of gritty sand from a bite. The broth and sausage served with it was superb tho as well as the toast points. As I previously mentioned, I went for the Ahi tuna bc it was alllll over this menu. I opted for the Ahi tuna on ciabatta with avocado and wasabi mayo and lettuce. The tuna was fresh but lacked flavor. The wasabi mayo helped, I kind of overdosed on it the sandwhich to compensate. As I was starving by this point, I ate half with fries in record time. But the flavor could def be improved. It did satisfy me at the time though. So as the night got later the music amd crowd got louder and louder. The music selection was beyond decent. Like great in fact.
