Cool spot to grab drinks! The tomato drink was a little weird because it was sweetened with agave but the bees knees was so good I could drink 10 of them. Large place. Kinda hot so winter months are probably more ideal. Get food from Rutts Hutt across the street. There's both the distillery and next door is the brewery for beer. The cocktails were all very unique. Staff was friendly.

This place is amazing. Simple and plain. I'm so glad Clifton, NJ has a distillery in town. They make absolute bangers for drinks. Service is great. The vibe is chill. Love the ambiance in this place.

10 out of 10! Love a good Christmas decorated bar! Staff is so friendly and the drinks are amazing!

Amazing owners, not a bourbon guy, but what they offered made me think twice. Best bourbon I have had, I can't have anything else. Can't wait to be back.

Was invited to a benefit here 3 years ago. Nice place with a few tables. You can see the distillery behind the fence and all the barrels aging the liquor. Went to another event there this past Thursday. Had live music which was great. Nicely Decorated for Xmas. Staff was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful with the drinks. Last time I was there I tried the bourbon. Not a big hard liquor drinker but the way the mixed it.... It was delicious. This time tried their vodka. Very smooth. Had a few dirty martini's (which were excellent). Nice place to just go have a few drinks and relax without the over crowding of a normal bar.

This place is such a hidden gem. The cocktails are amazing and creative. To begin with the bartenders are amazing.. they are warm, friendly and happy to provide suggestions. Each cocktail is unique and creative. It shows that they have put a lot of thought in creating these. Not only do they taste great they are also presented in a beautiful manner. They allow you to bring your own food to enjoy with the cocktails. Great place to hang out with your friends.

Never heard of Silk City Distillery until a friend recommended it. Who knew it would be so close to home! I enjoy anything and everything bourbon, and Silk City whips up some great cocktails. Honestly, every drink I had was smooth and tasty. They are also BYOF (Bring Your Own Food). The drinking area was clean and staff were very friendly. Parking is available in their lot or on the street. Highly recommend!

Rum drink was really good.

Really nice cheky spot. Awesome drinks and very trendy drink options. The owner was super friendly and very helpful.

Cool place for strong bourbon and other spirits. Paterson missed out on having this business. Shares the same parking lot/space to ghost hawk. And across the street is rutts hut. I'd come back and buy a bottle of whiskey from here next time I'm around. There's a clean bathroom if you break your seal.

I accidentally found this place and I am so happy about it. I has a joint parking lot with a brewery next door. It opens around 1pm and close at 6 pm which is a little early to me , the night is young. We were welcomed by very pleasant bar tenders who introduced us to their distillery. I inserted a watermelon fizz , which was a great options on a hot day. My husband got his results old fashioned which he said was good. I will definitely spread the word about this place as it has legit cocktails and great bartenders

Hosted my husbands surprise 40th at Silk City. Taylor and the crew were amazing. The atmosphere was great, staff was extremely accommodating and focused on delivering amazing service. Friendly, family owned and a great place to hangout and relax or host an event. The drinks were amazing, as was the service. Can't wait to go back! PS buy their Tshirt! They are amazingly comfortable.

I tasked the husband with finding us a midwinter adventure that didn't involve beer, as I was beered out. The husband used Google Maps to search for distilleries in our area and that's how we found Silk City. Opened for almost 14 months, the space is well laid out with a distillery on one side, tasting room booking the other, and a loft space above, hard to believe this wasn't added to YELP? On our visit we had the opportunity to chat up one of 3 husband/wife owners. He gave us a tour and she finished up our tasting and made us a delicious 4 grain bourbon old fashioned, and a rye one too. Love how almost all ingredients are NJ sourced. These are quality products and I will look for them while out and about. Best of luck guys!

Why didn't I find this place sooner? Such a great distillery with so many options. Customer service is great, bartender provides great recommendations to try. Also, there is usually food truck or you can bring you own food as well. My favorite drinks are big sexy and 5th year anniversary. Love it, found my new weekend spot to hang :)

First off, we couldn't even find the place. When we finally did, the front was completely blacked out and the security guard had on a bulletproof vest... sketchy. But we went in anyway. The first floor had a weird smell, so we went upstairs. The vibe was better up there, and the host was really nice. The decor was totally on theme, very Cowboy Carter. The brunch menu looked decent, but weirdly we couldn't order any appetizers just the brunch entrees. Kinda annoying, but whatever. We got the shrimp and grits, and the chicken and waffles (served on a skewer). Oh and we had to pay right when we ordered. Like... why? That was definitely a red flag. But surprisingly, the food was actually so good. As for drinks, I got something with rum and it was solid. My partner ordered the $30 mimosa pitcher, and it was mostly juice way too sweet. Definitely not worth it. The food is 11/10, but not my everyday go to spot!!! Try it out and let me know your thoughts

We ordered a few things. Spicy Tuna Tartare: wasn't spicy, didn't taste fresh which wasn't a deterrent to me as this isn't a seafood restaurant or fine dining. Next time I'd pass on that. Bavarian Pretzel: amazing. Very tasty. Came out nice and hot. That rarebit cheese sauce? Oh honey that can come home with me anytime. Absolutely delicious. And this is coming from someone who hates that fake cheese, cheese whiz type taste. Margherita Pizza: didn't come out hot which is probably why I wasn't a fan of it. It was pretty mediocre for such a basic pizza. And the food didn't come out all together, so not sure why that didn't come out hot. Wings and waffles: Tasty buffalo wings. The waffles actually taste like funnel cake which was a nice surprise. THEN. The burger came out and that is why this review dropped. It had a small hair on the side of the plate and a closer look at the rest of the plate, you'll see a long hair on the pickle. That was disappointing but happy to have tried the place nonetheless.

We tried the Ham & Brie Croissant with Tavern Fries. The Croissant was big enough for two of us to share and SOO good. I had the Golden Peach Martini while my girlfriend ordered the Brown Butter Old Fashioned. I'm not typically one to order an Old Fashioned so I always try hers out -- this has to be a top 5 for me!! This was my second time coming to Union. I had initially come in the fall for a Yelp Elite event but I've been wanting to come back ever since. For a "bar," their food and drink list is elevated and better than most! Shout out to our server Mariah! She said the bar had poured too much prosecco for another table, so we got to enjoy some complimentary prosecco -- can't let that go to waste! ;) Parking in East Rutherford can be tough at times, but I do love that Union has their own lot with plenty of parking. Ownership really did a great job creating a very cool, city-style, modern atmosphere. Before writing this review, I had to really think about what UB&P really is and (duh!) the name says it all. This is more of a bar first and food ( provisions) secondary. As long as you visit with this in mind you should have a good experience. Well lit, well stocked bar with as pair of large TVS for watching a game. Not a craft beer bar but ok on the wine selection and it has an interesting craft cocktail list. However the drinks sounded better than they were made. My dining companion and I have had our fair share of Old Fashions and Lychee-style martinis. The versions here GOLDEN PEACH MARTINI & BROWN BUTTER WASHED OLD FASHIONED fell flat. At $16-18 per, they need to get better. As for food, a very small menu ( which I do like at times) but this one doesn't have anything that says "I have to try that!" Again I'm feeling that what with all the great restaurants in the next town it makes sense to push the alcohol here more than the food. We split he hummus platter which was very good; For our main course: the house burger ( with fries) and meatloaf ( with sauteed spinach and pureed potatoes). The burger was very good and cooked as ordered. The meatloaf was good\ok, but I have the opinion that most of us already have a version of our favorite meatloaf from somewhere else ( mom's, spouse's, our own). A side of cornbread was ordered too. I find most places make it too dry but this version was very good. Do NOT expect to have dessert here as it is almost non-existent. No menu and only a few generic choices like cheesecake, chocolate cake, creme brulee ( they had 1 left on a Wednesday night! really? ) Anyway, good place for catching the game with some drinks. Food here if needed to keep the night going. They just need to do a little work on those cocktails.

My friend and I went at a normal time, and the place wasn't even busy. We originally ordered tacos and chaufa, but they brought us the wrong food. We told the server, and she said she'd go find the woman who took our order, but she never came back. After waiting about 20 minutes, we told another employee, and she also disappeared. Eventually someone finally came back and apologized, saying they were busy -- which would've been understandable, except the restaurant really wasn't crowded at all. At that point, we were tired of waiting and just ate the food they gave us. But paying $18 for 3 basic tacos is honestly ridiculous. Their solution was basically, "We can make the correct order, but it'll take even longer." Then they automatically added an 18% gratuity for just two people, even though the service was far from good. Overall, the food was very basic, the service was frustrating, and the whole experience just wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend this place.

A quick heads-up: on Google Maps it's listed as Ceviche 517, but the sign on the building says Tavern 517, which initially threw us off. We were circling around until we decided to just trust the physical address--and we're so glad we did. As soon as we walked in, the name didn't even matter anymore. The decor is stunning--definitely has an upscale, Instagram-worthy vibe with a modern lounge feel. We might've come a little early because the place was quiet when we arrived, but that worked in our favor as we got to settle in comfortably and explore the menu. Drinks were a mixed experience. We tried the margarita flight, which included coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry. The coconut and passion fruit margaritas were absolutely delicious--fresh, balanced, and memorable. The strawberry, however, was a big miss--tasted like kid's medicine and no one at the table could finish it. We also ordered a drink called something like Chicola--it had ginger ale, lime juice, and some type of liquor, and unfortunately, it was another one we couldn't get through. The flavors just didn't mix well, and everyone at the table agreed it was a no for us. On the flip side, the Perfect Mule with a strawberry twist, the Henny Mojito, and a bold and fun drink called No Sheets were much better received. Menus are displayed on sleek tablets, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the in-house menu offered way more options than what's listed online. And the food? Absolutely excellent. The Tallarín Saltado with vegetables was beyond delicious--we placed it in the center so everyone could dig in. The ceviche flight was fresh and flavorful, and the jalea (a fried seafood platter) didn't last long on the table either. One friend had the larger ceviche bowl paired with a mojito and already asked to come back just for that combo. Even the kid's arroz chaufa with chicken impressed us, with a big enough portion for leftovers. If there's one thing that fell flat, it was the atmosphere--at least early in the evening. When we arrived, the music playing sounded like retro video game tunes, but thankfully it transitioned into upbeat Spanish hits, including some great bachata that gave the space some energy. All in all, despite a few drink misses and a quiet start, this spot is a gem. The food alone is worth the trip, and we're definitely planning to return--next time a little later in the evening to hopefully catch a livelier vibe!
