We visited the Glow Room at Clifton Billiards last night for a 21st Birthday celebration. Room was clean and perfect size for our Party of 11. Black Light Artwork was very good and added a lot of fun and character to the space. A much larger "Speak Easy" themed room is also available. Game Equipment was well maintained with plenty of Ping Pong Balls for the couple that got away (under a couch). Bar Service was decent with a modest selection of mixed drink specials and included the classics. Bar Food was good, although the full menu shown online was not available during our visit. Give them a try next time you are in the area; definitely worth it. read more

Randomly googled something to do on a Saturday evening and came across this establishment. Great little gem. Service/drinks: the moment we walked in one of the bartenders asked if we had been before and thanked us for going. We were asked if we wanted drinks and given the blue Long Island recommendation. We went with that. The drink was good, as strong as long islands usually are. Food: we ordered a chicken quesadilla and French fries which were both good. The fries were crispy on the outside and were nice and hot when brought out. The quesadilla was cheesy with ample chicken and crispy on the outside. Both were good. Atmosphere: we were allowed to play immediately when we entered. We ate our food at a high top table near the Pool table which was convenient. The music playing was hip hop. Some songs I could do without but nonetheless it is a chill spot good for friends or a date night. We will be back again! read more

Came in with a large group to celebrate a friend graduating, and we had a great time. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a place like this and it wasn't too pricey at all. The drinks were great too, although the bar tenders could have been a little more attentive since it isn't as busy as other bars but they took just as long. Tuesday comedy BS whatever is the worst thing i have ever experienced in my life. It reminds me of a mental institution with individuals that need mental health. Let the music play and let these individuals go home. I left in 20 mins. Refused to pay for the food i ordered. I will never go back on a tuesday night again. What a horrible experience. So after a reply from the owner and a call to the actual facility I have to change my review back to 5 stars, someone is going on vegan pages in NJ and spreading hate about Clifton billiards and saying they removed there vegan menu which is completely false. My mom and I loved this place so hearing that really hurt considering Clifton billiards has been around for a while and feeling included with a diverse menu means a lot especially when you have someone with a special diet. Thank you to the owner for replying to me in a respectful way and helping clear this up. Went there for the 1st time there after seeing it on social media. Unfortunately the place looked NOTHING at all like it did on Instagram. On top of that, the old guy behind the bar didnt kno how to make a margarita. (A bunch of lemon juice and triple sec dsnt make a margarita). Full disclosure, I really liked this spot until there were some odd things that happened with the bill. I came here with a group of friends a couple weeks ago, on a Friday night. My friend who got there first, went in, got a table and started playing right away, the rest of us showed up between half an hour to an hour after. All told, we were there a total of 4 hours by the time the last few of us left that night. The place has a nice look to it, it's clean and, it looks like they did some remodeling within the last couple of years. There was enough space between the tables so you weren't on top of other groups, they allow you to vape inside, and they have a good selection of drinks and food. They drinks were made pretty good, I got a couple of LITs. I didn't have anything to eat, but my friend told me the quesadillas were really good. We had fun. It was a good way to spend a night doing something more lowkey. We played a bunch of rounds, it was comfortable, no one bothered us. The issue I had with the bill, was first - they told my friend they couldn't give him a receipt. When he told them he needed something so he could see how much each of us needed to chip in, they took a partial picture of what they had on screen. I assume there were four different prices for each hour we were there, because some of us got there later, and some left a little earlier, which fine, OK. The drink menus at the pool tables said LITs were $9 each, but we got charged $10 for each. Again, not a big deal, but you should have the correct prices on your menus. Then the last thing was, when the last four of us left, they charged another $3/person. Not a crazy amount, but we were still within a four hour window, which we had already paid for. So why did we get charged more? I don't know. Separately none of these things are particularly a big deal, but taken together, it doesn't sit right with me and makes me feel like we were taken advantage of. There are definitely good things about this spot, but charges need to be more clear. read more

Place is a great hang out if you like to play billiards and just hang out. The burger is really good. The pool tables are a little old but still useable. They charge by the minute so you don't have to worry about leaving before the hour ends. read more

A lot of the reviews on here are about Clifton Billiard's food menu, unfortunately on my visit I did not get a chance to eat. Though I did have a great time playing Billiards and touring through their secret passage way into two party rooms. AND yes, fellow yelpers I said - secret passage way, it's like a movie you lift a book on a shelf and out comes a hallway it was great. The owner is extremely nice and took the time to tour us around even though the establishment was busy. I'll definitely be returning and bringing some more friends next time around. read more

The Good: - I came here for a party and it was awesome, they had a little hidden speakeasy area for us. - The owner was super friendly and nice. He was even "in" on the birthday surprise. - The best part was that amazing local craft brew selection from Alementary to Carton. Yes!!! This man knows his beers! - Friendly staff all around. The Meh: - We had a mix of food and we thought it was catered however, it was all done in house, which is quite a feat! Sadly, the sliders were a little dry. However, the other food was pretty decent. Would be interested in returning to try some of their other choices. - No parking lot so parking is on the street only. The Bad: None. Came in on Sunday night to hang out with a friend. The place is very dimly lit, only the tables being used have the lights on, everything else is dark. The guy working was quick with the jokes and very friendly. He gave us the balls and lit up our table. After a few games, we decided to have a few beers. I was surprised at the tap selection. Besides the normal macro brews, they had a decent number of craft taps. The guy working could tell I knew my beer and we had a good discussion about what kind of stuff is good to drink in the colder weather. Ended up picking up a pitcher of Carton of Milk Stout from the Carton Brewery. The pool tables and cues are well kept. I would gladly return here for drinks and games, maybe even try the food next time. read more

I had to give negative stars I would. Their tables are broken and cause injury. Who puts a metal plate to number a pool table? It's preposterous. The metal plate was broken and cut my thigh and my hand and has now left me with ugly scars. Moreover, they don't care. When I showed the injury, a guy (apparently owner's son) came with a plier to rip the plate, provided no medicine, no bandaid, charged us money without providing a bill and have no shame nor ethics to apologize nor compensate for the injury. Horrible Horrible and sick people. The labor, business or whichever responsible department exist for these establishnents should shut down such dangerous business. Sick unethical and greedy people are operating this place. There should be a department which can make them compensate for such injuries without expensive court proceedings. read more

My review is based on a visit a few month ago. Hubby and I visited on a whim on date night. For a Friday night it was pretty empty, less than three tables were occupied. Came to this place on a Monday night and the place was pretty busy. The tables play nice and the guy behind the counter was very friendly even informed us that they just newly remodeled the private rooms. We ended up renting the private speakeasy room and l it was amazing theres even a secret door to get in thee room, you have to open a bookcase to enter the rooms and all the decor is from the 1920's with old school lights. We had some of there food also and everything was great the quesadillas, best i ever had! My girl had their Vegan cheeseburger and she said it was better than anywhere else. The drinks were all strong, the pour double shots in every drink, definitely a good thing! Well place looks rustic and a bit smelly. Food was over cooked and sliders tasted awful. Owners attitude is not too pleasant and overall experiences not so hot. I went to play pool on the Sunday night before Labor Day. It was not that crowded but even if it was, they have a large amount of pool tables (at least 15 because that was my pool table number haha). I really love how friendly the staff was (I think he might have been the owner). Honestly I really appreciate small businesses and this pool hall definitely has that feel. I got the impression that the owner of this business truly loves pool and that's why he owns a pool hall not just to make money. I don't know if this makes a difference to anyone but it sure does for me. Anyways, yeah it's a nice place to go with a couple of friends for a nice game of pool. They also have a bar which serves anything from cappuccinos to hard liquor. I also noticed that they had a wall memorabilia of a famous pool player that goes and plays there every Wednesday which I thought was pretty cool. So excited that I finally got to try this place. I sent my daughter a week ago because she was looking for a burger (vegan of course). She LOVED it. We ordered takeout tonight - one beyond burger and one impossible burger. My husband really liked the impossible burger, fries and special sauce. The beyond was awesome too! Possibly the best pool joint around. As soon as you go upstairs there's lots of clean tables nice lighting on the tables. On top of having great pool tables it's a sports bar/party area. They have lots of rooms in the back to throw parties. The food was pretty good I had fries and a personal pizza. Highly recommend this place, if you're looking to enjoy a pool game. read more

They were on their InstaGram page excited about all of the VEGAN products they serve. Well they mentioned Daiya brand cheese. I replied and told them that Daiya was recently sold to a Japanese company that tested on animals and suggested they try another brand of Vegan cheese. They REMOVED MY POST! I feel that it is neccessary to inform the VEGAN community that there is a product out there that is "VEGAN" but being made by an animal testing company, but it goes to show GREED played a part and reared its ugly head at Clifton Billiards. Great idea for a much needed night out !! Went there late on a Sunday and it had a good low key atmosphere (my kind of place). Good bar and beer selections, knowledgeable and kind bartender. Even if I don't know my stuff, I know who to trust with craft beer selections and he is on that list !! Have not tried the food yet, but looks great and I look forward to going back !! Oh my god this place is amazing. My boyfriend and I got the private room for three hours and not only was it private and quiet it was nice and cold and we could talk to the people through an intercom.
