It was pretty busy and service was friendly. I had the blarney burger (requested to sub Swiss for the cheddar). My burger was ok - nothing bad to report. I didn't care for the political pic posted up on the mantle, it felt a bit out of place & I would just like to enjoy dinner without thinking about politics. Noise level was slightly loud but not unmanageable.

I had the haddock fish & chips, my husband had the bangers and mash, and we finished with sticky toffee pudding and custard. Everything was delicious and felt like authentic British pub food. The atmosphere was fun, and we loved how the TVs are hidden behind what look like paintings when not in use -- such a cool touch! There's plenty of seating, even for larger groups. We'll definitely be back for future England games, and next time we may bring our dog since we found out they're dog-friendly too!

First off-the owners are so FRIENDLY and kind--you can talk to them about anything and they are happy to answer questions about any of the food and/or drinks. You can tell they love owning this place and meeting customers. I have heard so much about the Pub and went for the first time yesterday with two friends. We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. If you are in the area-stop by for a drink or two and you will not be disappointed-you feel like you are transported to England with these type of pub.

Basically, you order at a bar and you bring it over to a table. The food menu is quite limited. I posted a menu picture. We ordered beer and wine, two hamburgers and a Turkey BLT with fries. The Tavern is known for their hamburgers. Food is just fair. My turkey BLT was okay. Fries could've been much better. I had a taste of the burger. It was pretty good. Only after we ate, a server did come by for drink orders. The Tavern has a very nice outdoor garden seating area for the warmer weather. Basically, I think this place is just best to stop in for a few drinks. A small, very tight parking lot is available. In addition, street parking is available but be prepared to walk a distance.

Obviously the outside is traditional to the moon but once you go in it is a mix of character and new age bliss. They only have one happy hour special at the moment which is a beer, a burger and a shot for $10 which can't be leaked. Unfortunately I wasn't opting for the burger but I was able to get a beer and add a $2 shot to get the most bang for my buck. The tap collection is a great mix. It's one of the few places that has a a selection of local New York Piers, including harp lager, but then you always have your traditional Sam Adams, which this time was a winter white air and of course PBR. The beers come in 10 oz mugs which is an interesting size. They range from $5 to $8 at this moment. And the well liquor is not the type that will give you a headache unless you're just drinking it in excess. When I came there was no one there but it was a slow Monday. Either way the service was great. The music mix was fun and very diverse as well as they have three TVs that you can adjust. Pool tables, arcade game. Retro lounge chairs with a cute custom table. I'm a sucker for a bar where I can go by myself until the home and this one did the trick. Prices are reasonable but I miss the $3 beer days lol Since I didn't get the food and I do think the price is a bit high for the area and giving it four stars. But honestly for what it is I would pay a dollar extra for a beer here versus some other places.

This is a kitschy throw back to a…read moredifferent era in South Jersey that really hits the mark for what it is trying to deliver, and does so with a panache that is hard to dislike. We went not expecting to like it, and goodness me the parking lot confirmed my fears of a huge Jersey institution. But then you walk in and the spot feels like Medieval times turned into a steakhouse. There are wonderfully kitschy decorations and some amazing charcoal ovens available for all to see. The service matches South Jersey, it's a vibe for sure, and it's caring and loving while lacking grace and professionalism. The salad bar feels the same way (everyone gets to go to the salad bar if you order something I think) and the caesar salad was just maybe the most mid caesar salad ever, but that's okay...you could add anything you wanted, and I added bacon! My manhattan came with a sidecar, which is atypical these days, though the sidecar was hard to pour in to the glass because it was just in a regular glass. The cocktails were great though. The prime rib was not that great, but the 2lb Tomahawk we got was amazing. I think every bite was flavorful, juicy, and fatty. I'll be back - this place embodies the land it sits on.

Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people.
