Winter lychee martini
She A.

Came here on a Friday night during the holiday season. There was parking in a lot, which was very convenient. The restaurant is inside the hotel on the top floor. We were seated at a table close to the bar area, which we liked. We ordered lite bites and some drinks. Out drinks were okay, but a tad bit pricey for the amount of drinks we received. Our food was okay was well. The ambiance was beautiful, views were amazing and the music was on point

Five stars for Concourse Club. This vintage style rooftop cocktail bar atop the Element by Westin in Wood Ridge New Jersey has an upscale atmosphere and skyline views. I ordered the shishito peppers but the chef burnt them. The bartender was honest and the house sent complimentary calamari which was delicious. The cocktails were amazing. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They turned a small issue into a great night. Highly recommend. Will return soon.

This was my first time trying the Concourse Club for drinks and dinner. My friends and I arrived on a Saturday evening. The food was better than expected. We ordered the chicken sliders and the grilled Caribbean garlic shrimp- very good! The drinks were good too, but as we got later into the night they seem to come watered down and less alcohol in them. We had to ask our waitress on an occasion to double check :( I've heard the music and vibes at this place used to be good, but once we moved the party to the rooftop, we were a bit disappointed of the music and some of the people that were allowed in. Nothing against people having fun and being a bit loud, but we saw a few guys being just overly loud and just weird. I'm sure the gals reading this WOULD understand. Service was great though!

I'm a little conflicted about how to rate The Concourse Club. On one hand, the drinks, ambiance, and views were fantastic- but the food, just decent, didn't blow me away. That said, this place definitely has a vibe. The decor transports you into a swanky, retro airport lounge. Think bright orange mid-century modern lamps, cozy rounded booths, fireplaces, and a mix of high tops inside an enclosure and an outdoor space with gorgeous city views (even if you're technically perched above a not-so-pretty highway). As for the food, I tried the General Tso's cauliflower, tuna tartare, and the shrimp with fried plantains. The cauliflower was the best of the bunch- sweet, sticky, and not mushy at all. I would've loved more heat, but the texture and flavor were spot on. The tuna tartare was just okay; the wonton chip it came with was thicker than I prefer and lacked that perfect crisp contrast I usually love with tartare. The shrimp were juicy and fresh, but the plantains were super dry and underwhelming. Overall, food value was on the lower side. Drinks, though? Excellent. They were unfortunately out of ingredients for the Tropic Thunder (hilarious name), but the In Full Bloom cocktail I had was well-balanced and strong--with a really nice touch of fresh lychee on top. Service was also solid. One weird thing: it showed no reservations available online, but when we arrived on a Thursday evening, the place was pretty empty. They could really improve their visibility and open up the reservation system- because this is a spot people would go to for the atmosphere and cocktails alone. In short: come here for the vibe, the views, and the drinks. Just don't expect to be wowed by the food.

A lot of mixed reviews but I had a great experience! Not many places in Bergen county like this. I really enjoyed my visit. The DJ was great. The waitress was very kind and attentive. Food is overpriced for what it is but it was good for what it was. Nice environment to socialize or celebrate.

Nice place for drinks or a date. It's very nice inside, but not much of a view from the rooftop. The nightlife gets going late night, and they have a DJ. They have a parking lot or valet.

The place is beautiful with great music . Great for birthday, the staff was very nice. Food was good.

Ambience is great for a girls/guys night out, celebration, date night, etc. nice view and upscale restaurant/bar vibes. Friday night music was great throwbacks! Food was ok. Lobster bao buns were my favorite. The fish tacos were dry and needed more filling and a sauce. General tso cauliflower was tasty but the breading was falling apart. Chicken tortilla soup dumpling were another favorite but the soup is more like a pure at the bottom of 4 small dumplings. The grilled chicken Caesar sliders were decent, nice warm bun was a plus. We ended the night sharing the espresso brownie which was ok. A lot smaller than expected for almost $20. Honestly, it's a bit expensive for food that could be a bit better for the prices they charge as well as the nonexistent service. We had to call our server over a bunch of times (to order more food, drinks, refill on water, retrieve our bill, etc.) Overall nice atmosphere but expensive for food and service that could be better.

I was a bit disappointed, but let me explain. The food is definitely overpriced for what you get, but the drinks were solid and the staff was really friendly, which helped balance it out. Honestly, I mainly came for the view and ambiance, and that part did not disappoint at all. It's such a pretty spot and perfect if that's what you're looking for. I went on a Saturday night, so it was pretty busy and things took longer than expected. That said, I really enjoyed hanging out at the bar the bartender I met was so sweet and even recommended I come back on a weekday to really enjoy the view and atmosphere without the weekend rush. I also ended up sparking some great convos with others at the bar, and the DJ definitely had me singing along, which made the night more fun. So I guess not the worst experience overall. Come for the drinks, the view, the music, and the vibes you'll probably leave happy.

Awesome ambiance. There's views of the New York City skyline. Large drink menu with good mocktail options also. The service was a little slow at times and a few items from our order were missing initially, but we went on a Saturday night so it was busy. Both the grilled chicken sliders and the smoked cheddar beef sliders were good. The citrus red snapper ceviche was a smaller sized order than expected. The truffle chicken parm "pizza" was delicious and perfectly done, as was the general tso cauliflower bites. The DJ there was incredible and the vibes were great.

Calamari and spring roll

I was slightly surprised to see the many negative reviews for this restaurant lounge, but can justify what other people have said. I came on a Thursday night and it was not busy at all and no reservations were needed this probably contributed to my positive experience because the server was very attentive up until we got the check. This is located in the Element Hotel on the rooftop. They have a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays that comes on at 9pm until close at 1am. I was pleasantly surprised that the DJ was there on Thursday. Weekday here is a chill vibe, not too loud so you can still enjoy conversation with friends. Food is small plate tapas, but the prices are way too high for what you get. For example, the calamari was good but I feel like I was scammed. It was disappointing that there were only a few pieces of calamari on top, but the bowl is almost entirely pieces of fried onions, peppers, and tomatoes... what a joke! So lesson learned, don't order this. Best thing on the menu is the salmon poke, basically salmon sushi on crispy rice. All in all, you're paying for the experience and ambiance. Cocktails were made well and they do have the fanciest bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant.

Parking was easy. I went through a few incorrect doors before I was finally headed the right way. We came on a morning that wasn't crowded. There were three other groups all having a blast. There was a DJ and valentines decoration. The food was good and they had holiday inspired drinks.

Calamari
Lorian T.

Went with a large group and bought most of the menu. Atmosphere is beautiful and drinks were nicely made. Sadly, we were not impressed with the food at all. From the calamari and tacos, to the cauliflower and lobster bao buns. Not good. Service wasn't the best, but were kind. I would only go back to socialize over drinks, not to eat.

Bavarian Pretzel: amazing. Very tasty. Came out nice and hot. That rarebit cheese sauce? Oh honey that can come home with me anytime. Absolutely delicious. And this is coming from someone who hates that fake cheese, cheese whiz type taste. Margherita Pizza: didn't come out hot which is probably why I wasn't a fan of it. It was pretty mediocre for such a basic pizza. And the food didn't come out all together, so not sure why that didn't come out hot. Wings and waffles: Tasty buffalo wings. The waffles actually taste like funnel cake which was a nice surprise. THEN. The burger came out and that is why this review dropped. It had a small hair on the side of the plate and a closer look at the rest of the plate, you'll see a long hair on the pickle. That was disappointing but happy to have tried the place nonetheless.

Like the brewpub, Silk City Distillery had been on my wish list, and it was not until I arrived at Ghost Hawk that I noticed that they were adjacent to each other, allowing me to check both off at once. The tasting room was adorned with barrels that were holding their vast selection of spirits, such as bourbon, whisky, rum, gin, vodka, and more. They also offered a handful of regular and high-top tables, which we were easy to obtain on that afternoon (given the outdoor options as well), but typically reservations were recommended. Though the seating was comfortable, the temperature was not. In fact, it was freezing in there, and we, along with a lot of other parties, switched tables multiple times to find the best fit. We approached the counter to order from their lengthy cocktail list, which included standard and more custom cocktails. I decided on their rendition of a Lime Rickey, asking for it to be made with their gin. The tart, sour, and sweet drink was light and refreshing. I enjoyed each sip so much that I wound up getting a second round. While many distilleries offer a few types of alcohol and a handful of cocktails, the Silk City Distillery went above and beyond with their vast array of options. Any connoisseur should enjoy the place!

We tried the Ham & Brie Croissant with Tavern Fries. The Croissant was big enough for two of us to share and SOO good. This was my second time coming to Union. I had initially come in the fall for a Yelp Elite event but I've been wanting to come back ever since. For a "bar," their food and drink list is elevated and better than most! Shout out to our server Mariah! She said the bar had poured too much prosecco for another table, so we got to enjoy some complimentary prosecco -- can't let that go to waste! ;) Parking in East Rutherford can be tough at times, but I do love that Union has their own lot with plenty of parking. Ownership really did a great job creating a very cool, city-style, modern atmosphere. Before writing this review, I had to really think about what UB&P really is and (duh!) the name says it all. This is more of a bar first and food ( provisions) secondary. As long as you visit with this in mind you should have a good experience. Well lit, well stocked bar with as pair of large TVS for watching a game. Not a craft beer bar but ok on the wine selection and it has an interesting craft cocktail list. However the drinks sounded better than they were made. My dining companion and I have had our fair share of Old Fashions and Lychee-style martinis. The versions here GOLDEN PEACH MARTINI & BROWN BUTTER WASHED OLD FASHIONED fell flat. At $16-18 per, they need to get better. As for food, a very small menu ( which I do like at times) but this one doesn't have anything that says "I have to try that!" Again I'm feeling that what with all the great restaurants in the next town it makes sense to push the alcohol here more than the food. We split he hummus platter which was very good; For our main course: the house burger ( with fries) and meatloaf ( with sauteed spinach and pureed potatoes). The burger was very good and cooked as ordered. The meatloaf was good\ok, but I have the opinion that most of us already have a version of our favorite meatloaf from somewhere else ( mom's, spouse's, our own). A side of cornbread was ordered too. I find most places make it too dry but this version was very good. Do NOT expect to have dessert here as it is almost non-existent. No menu and only a few generic choices like cheesecake, chocolate cake, creme brulee ( they had 1 left on a Wednesday night! really? ) Anyway, good place for catching the game with some drinks. Food here if needed to keep the night going. They just need to do a little work on those cocktails.

At that point, we were tired of waiting and just ate the food they gave us. But paying $18 for 3 basic tacos is honestly ridiculous.
