i went here on a date. we were in the area looking for bars. when we got there, there was no seating by the bar so they sat us outside. it worked out good because we were able to smoke hookah outside. just a heads up the hookah is separate with a woman that provides it, its not included in the bill for the food and drinks. my date didn't know. he wanted to put it all on his credit card. he was lucky he had some cash on him or he would of had to zelle it. its not her fault we just didn't think. other than that we had a couple drinks and the service was good. i would go back, but i feel like its not really a date spot. i would go back with a couple girl friends of mine for a Friday night hangout.

This place has been on my radar for a few years but I never had a reason to go. I recently decided…read moreto come here for a wedding anniversary dinner and was blown away by the service and the food quality. Started off with oysters, wine and fresh bread. I could tell that the butter was house made and asked for extra because it was that good. Had the beef duo as the main course. I found it to be satisfying and also much better value than the steak frites. All of the items I received were very detail oriented and as well as fresh. We were seated on one side on the restaurant that I believe was blocked off for more special occasions. The other side of the restaurant seemed to have tables placed more closely to one another. Our server consistently checked on us throughout the night to make sure we were okay. Overall I was very satisfied with the service that I received here as well as with the food.

I love how we were greeted with energy and they were truly happy to see us. This walk to our upstairs table was like getting a tour. We requested a table that would allow us to have easy conversation with our friends who were joining. And it was a great table, looking down on the main dining room. The only real dig I had was the lack of lighting upstairs. I literally could not see the beauty of my dishes because it was too dark. There was a flickering light above us which was taped over, but I do think they need to reconsider whether it's bigger candles, or even some type of table lighting. Wines by the glass, would have hoped for a bigger selection. The white cranberry cosmo was terrific. Great menu! French traditional favorites coupled with a creative collection of Spanish and Italian dishes as well. Chicken, beef, and super great choices of fish. I honestly didn't spend time looking at appetizers as I went right to the salads and entrees. And yes, interesting creative selection of salads. I had a beet and hummus salad. My wife had a kale and grapefruit salad and there were others to choose from, with the exception of no Caesar nor plain house for the boring pallet. I had scallops and pistachios and it was very good. There was branzino and also a beef duo of flank steak and oxtail ordered. All the dishes were really well prepared, seasoned and beautifully presented. Again, I would have enjoyed seeing what was on my fork for each bite. Dessert menu was okay. I thought a bit overpriced and just not overly appealing. Too many caramel offerings, and not enough diversity. We did offer their version of a chocolate lava cake but it was like a tapas portion of dessert. It was good, but 3 bites worth, hardly shareable. It would be unfair not to mention the great service. Our waiter was chill, let us chat away for over 3 hours. Never felt rushed and all his helpers knew exactly who was getting what. Well done .... I'd go back in a heartbeat.

My boyfriend and I had the four course meal: we both started with burrata and prosciutto salad, he had the crab cake, I picked the duck reuben (which was unreal), we both chose the filet mignon with creamed spinach and polenta (up-charge of $15 but well worth it), he finished with the pb chocolate banana bomb and I had the lavender blueberry crème brûlée. The outdoor garden patio is absolutely beautiful, filled with flowers, lush greenery, and tranquil water fountains that create an enchanting atmosphere. It's also BYOB, which is a nice touch. The menu changes seasonally and offers a prix fixe option: two savory courses plus dessert for $95, or three savory courses plus dessert for $125. The staff was exceptional, polite, attentive, and very accommodating throughout our meal. A few things to keep in mind if you choose to dine outdoors: since you're eating in a garden, you may encounter a few ants or mosquitoes. It wasn't overwhelming, but it's something to expect. Also, the portion sizes are on the smaller side. As for the food, I thought it was good, but I didn't love it, especially considering the price. We ordered the crab cake, burger, crème brûlée, and venison. The crab cake and crème brûlée were both beautifully presented and delicious. However, the burger was undercooked, and my date found the venison to be quite dry. Overall, this is a wonderful spot for the ambiance and experience. The setting is romantic, peaceful, and unlike many other restaurants. While I personally didn't find the food memorable enough to justify the cost, I'd still recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful evening in a truly magical garden setting.

Title: An Absolute Gem! Exceptional Food, Impeccable Service, and Incredible Value!…read more What an absolutely outstanding dining experience! Latour in Ridgewood is a true hidden gem, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. We visited on a very busy evening and opted for the four-course prix fixe menu, which is an astonishing $59 per person. Considering the quality of the ingredients, the preparation, the beautiful presentation, and the level of service, this is an exceptional value. Frankly, I would have expected to pay considerably more for a meal of this caliber. We began with the lamb bolognese and cheese soufflé, both of which were absolutely delicious. The French onion soup was wonderful, and the steak au poivre was beautifully prepared, with a rich, flavorful sauce. For dessert, we enjoyed the chocolate ganache and profiteroles with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Every course was outstanding, and there wasn't a single disappointing bite. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the service. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, our server was absolutely impeccable. He was attentive, gracious, professional, and remarkably efficient throughout the entire meal. Our needs were anticipated without our ever feeling rushed or interrupted. I regret not getting his name because he deserves special recognition. We were so impressed with both the quality of the meal and the exceptional service that I felt compelled to leave a considerably larger gratuity than usual. As we were leaving, our server actually came outside to personally thank us and invite us to return. It was such a lovely, genuine gesture and a perfect reflection of the hospitality we experienced throughout the evening. It's increasingly rare to find a restaurant that delivers this level of quality, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality at such a reasonable price. Latour manages to make fine dining feel special without being pretentious or prohibitively expensive. My compliments to Chef Michael Latour and the entire staff for a truly memorable evening. We will absolutely be returning, and I would enthusiastically recommend Latour to anyone who appreciates beautifully prepared French cuisine and exceptional service. A well-deserved five stars. An absolute gem!

Food was delicious so that made the first bad impression on the side. Afterward the chef came very friendly and polite to ask about our dinner. It's nice to see the chef walking around and caring for their customers, unfortunately the lady at the reception is a disgrace

It's one thing to get photo updates -- and texts about her generous poops and farts -- but another thing entirely to actually hold and entertain her. Unfortunately, the delta variant delayed our "IRL" meet for many months. But when things finally died down, I met up with Meg R. at Village Green. Decor is swanky but not oppressively so, with a clientele that's older but not geriatric. It's BYOB, which probably does wonders for the liquor store across the street. If I were a restaurant owner, I might open a shop just to collect money I lost from the liquor license racket.* We had duck crepe, meatballs, and the short rib. I recommend them all, especially the duck crepe. Staff were super chill and helped us accommodate a no-res walk-in. Adelyn was great and seemed to really enjoy 1-2-3-4-5-6 in Mandarin, along with being lifted up and down like a rocket ship. No "stranger danger" stuff that you sometimes get with babies. * I'm a social democrat, and this isn't meant to be some libertarian swipe. But licensing often isn't about protecting the consumer but conferring advantage in state-constricted markets. It also compounds the struggles of running a restaurant, already a low margin business that often depends on alcohol revenue.

With both à la carte options and a $44 Prix Fixe menu, we went for the prix fixe -- and it was the best decision of the day. A truly enchanting brunch that felt as if we had slipped away to a cozy café in Paris. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with live soft jazz music setting the perfect tone. The staff was warm and attentive, anticipating every need -- even the bread served with a luxurious French butter with black sea salt was top notch. No land Lake served on their tables. Cocktails Bloody Mary -- perfectly mixed, bright and briny with just the right touch of horseradish Peach Bellini -- light, fruity, and beautifully balanced Appetizers Salmon Tartare -- diced fresh tuna , with a vibrant pesto sauce, served with crisp baguette toasts. Not only did the food roll off my tongue, but it was a substantial first course. Hubby opted for the Soup du jour, a comforting individual tureen of butternut squash soup, delicately garnished with sunflower seeds -- savory with just a hint of sweetness, the perfect bowl for a cold, rainy day. I had a few spoonfuls and can agree it was delicious and warming. Entrées So many options I really had a tough time picking one. So many classic French dishes, but the buckwheat crepe won out. A SMOKED SALMON CREPE Filled with chopped salade, in a buckwheat crêpe, sunny up egg. Great to the last bite. Husband continued with a French theme steak sandwich with brie cheese, pickle shallots, aioli, and pomme frites Dessert Chocolate Mousse -- airy, rich, and deeply satisfying; the perfect sweet finish. The waiter comes over with a huge tureen of chocolate mousse and scoops out a huge amount of it to add in your dessert plate . Quite the presentation. Paired with after-dinner drinks, this brunch was a seamless blend of French elegance and warmth -- every bite, every note of music, every detail thoughtfully done. A truly delightful experience we can't wait to repeat.
