The second time here and it's been a great experience. The food is amazing not to mention they added a few new things to the menu. The ambience was very welcoming and perfect for your Friday Saturday Sunday night vibes late night not to mention the drinks were amazing. Service was top-notch.

Visited this place for dinner with friends . Waste of my time !! First we had to pay $20 to get in because it was a party going on ! Then they only served appetizers / small bites ! Which the menu was a hit & miss.. I ordered the guacamole which wasn't fresh !!! It was guacamole purée with some hard chips !! The only thing I enjoyed was the lemon drop made with tequila that was good !! Our server was attentive but barely spoke English which is my pet peeve when ordering at an establishment!! This establishment does have some spots inside and out for photo/video content..

The only thing I liked about this establishment was the setup and decoration once you are on the roof top. However, the service wasn't good at all. Our server rang in the wrong order and tried to tell us what we ordered. The food was basic and overpriced. I signed my tab with one price and days later was overcharged by over $50. I wasn't happy with my experience here at all.

"Guac & chips" looks like it's out of a bag The ketchup is from my "truffle fries"

Slates Sundays is great Good music Good crowd & vibe Love the ambience Lowkey spot. Everything is new & I'm enjoying it so far Jersey needs more roof top spots. My server was great She refilled my glass before they emptied without asking Love that. The food needs a lot help tho This is my guacamole & chips Looks like they bought it from the grocery store and threw it on a plate. The "truffle" fries are sad I came here once before and they had ACTUAL truffle fries which were tasty, but these? Come on...

Got there about 20 minutes after opening and sat at the bar. On Sundays they have happy hour all…read moreday. It's a very nice place. Very spacious and has dedicated parking. We ordered a few things. Spicy Tuna Tartare: wasn't spicy, didn't taste fresh which wasn't a deterrent to me as this isn't a seafood restaurant or fine dining. Next time I'd pass on that. Bavarian Pretzel: amazing. Very tasty. Came out nice and hot. That rarebit cheese sauce? Oh honey that can come home with me anytime. Absolutely delicious. And this is coming from someone who hates that fake cheese, cheese whiz type taste. Margherita Pizza: didn't come out hot which is probably why I wasn't a fan of it. It was pretty mediocre for such a basic pizza. And the food didn't come out all together, so not sure why that didn't come out hot. Wings and waffles: Tasty buffalo wings. The waffles actually taste like funnel cake which was a nice surprise. THEN. The burger came out and that is why this review dropped. It had a small hair on the side of the plate and a closer look at the rest of the plate, you'll see a long hair on the pickle. That was disappointing but happy to have tried the place nonetheless.

The Roosevelt is a themed restaurant, lounge, and speakeasy inspired by... you guessed it,…read morePresident FDR. For those who aren't history junkies, FDR ran on a platform calling for the repeal of the 18th amendment, Prohibition. During the Prohibition Era, speakeasies (hidden drinking establishments) popped up left and right due to the nationwide ban on alcohol sales, consumption, production, importation, and transportation. After his presidential victory, the 21st Amendment, ratified on December 5, 1933, officially repealed Prohibition. The restaurant's name is a celebration of FDR's repeal and how it impacted the American hospitality industry and economy as a whole. The interior is meant to transport customers back to the roaring twenties. Think flappers, The Great Gatsby, dim lighting, black/gold/burgundy colors, plush chairs, geometric wall patterns, vintage chandeliers, mosaic tiled floors, etc. There's four "sections" of the restaurant to dine in, each with a different vibe. *Lucy's Parlor - A hidden speakeasy named after FDR's mistress. This is my favorite space. They really went creative with the wall decor! There's black and white photos of Prohibition protests, as well as excerpts from love letters exchanged between FDR and Lucy. There's a small bar and a good amount of seating. Sophisticated, sexy vibe. *The Hide Out - A private and intimate dining space for a group of 4-6 people. You get special attention from the Executive Chef. They offer two seatings per night by reservation. *The Saloon - One of the main dining areas, complete with a large bar, high top tables, a fireplace, a vintage piano, and flat screen tvs. *The Dining Room - A formal dining area for private events and parties. It has a mahogany bar, skylights, and LED lighting. The drinks and food? Of COURSE they're on par with the theme. Most of the menu is elevated bar food, but they also have steak, pork chop, and seafood options. They have Happy Hour every day - all day on Wed & Sun and twice a day from Thursday-Saturday! DJs on the weekend. They even have a Sunday brunch! I've only had drinks, so can't speak on the food yet. I've tried... *Roosevelt Side Car (Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, syrup, and lemon juice with a sugared rim) $15 - Definitely a strong drink with a sour aftertaste! Not my favorite. *The Bee's Knees (Hendricks Gin, St-Germain, lemon juice, and honey topped with rose water) $15 - Refreshing, bright flavor and definitely on the sweeter side, but I loved it. Whether you want to sip on creative cocktails, book a private event, or enjoy a dinner meal, The Roosevelt is worth a visit.

We tried the Ham & Brie Croissant with Tavern Fries. The Croissant was big enough for two of us to share and SOO good. I had the Golden Peach Martini while my girlfriend ordered the Brown Butter Old Fashioned. I'm not typically one to order an Old Fashioned so I always try hers out -- this has to be a top 5 for me!! This was my second time coming to Union. I had initially come in the fall for a Yelp Elite event but I've been wanting to come back ever since. For a "bar," their food and drink list is elevated and better than most! Shout out to our server Mariah! She said the bar had poured too much prosecco for another table, so we got to enjoy some complimentary prosecco -- can't let that go to waste! ;) Parking in East Rutherford can be tough at times, but I do love that Union has their own lot with plenty of parking. It just makes choosing a place to go easier!

We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to seat us in the dining room as long as we could wrap up before 1:30, which we appreciated. I wasn't super hungry so we shared the crispy cauliflower and lamb ribs from the appetizer menu. The crispy cauliflower was excellent -- hot, actually crispy, and not drowning in sauce which I really appreciated. The lamb ribs came over labneh (a yogurt base) and the first plate arrived with the lamb cold. I asked our waitress if that was intentional and she said only the labneh should be cold. They immediately replaced it with a fresh order and handled it really well, which I appreciated. Great service recovery and overall a really enjoyable brunch spot with a lively atmosphere.

My friend and I went at a normal time, and the place wasn't even busy. We originally ordered tacos and chaufa, but they brought us the wrong food. We told the server, and she said she'd go find the woman who took our order, but she never came back. After waiting about 20 minutes, we told another employee, and she also disappeared. Eventually someone finally came back and apologized, saying they were busy -- which would've been understandable, except the restaurant really wasn't crowded at all. At that point, we were tired of waiting and just ate the food they gave us. But paying $18 for 3 basic tacos is honestly ridiculous. Their solution was basically, "We can make the correct order, but it'll take even longer." Then they automatically added an 18% gratuity for just two people, even though the service was far from good. Overall, the food was very basic, the service was frustrating, and the whole experience just wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We came to Ceviche 517 Restaurant & Lounge as a group of five, hoping to find good food, great…read moremusic, and some fun new cocktails--and this place absolutely delivered on most fronts! A quick heads-up: on Google Maps it's listed as Ceviche 517, but the sign on the building says Tavern 517, which initially threw us off. We were circling around until we decided to just trust the physical address--and we're so glad we did. As soon as we walked in, the name didn't even matter anymore. The decor is stunning--definitely has an upscale, Instagram-worthy vibe with a modern lounge feel. We might've come a little early because the place was quiet when we arrived, but that worked in our favor as we got to settle in comfortably and explore the menu. Drinks were a mixed experience. We tried the margarita flight, which included coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry. The coconut and passion fruit margaritas were absolutely delicious--fresh, balanced, and memorable. The strawberry, however, was a big miss--tasted like kid's medicine and no one at the table could finish it. We also ordered a drink called something like Chicola--it had ginger ale, lime juice, and some type of liquor, and unfortunately, it was another one we couldn't get through. The flavors just didn't mix well, and everyone at the table agreed it was a no for us. On the flip side, the Perfect Mule with a strawberry twist, the Henny Mojito, and a bold and fun drink called No Sheets were much better received. Menus are displayed on sleek tablets, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the in-house menu offered way more options than what's listed online. And the food? Absolutely excellent. The Tallarín Saltado with vegetables was beyond delicious--we placed it in the center so everyone could dig in. The ceviche flight was fresh and flavorful, and the jalea (a fried seafood platter) didn't last long on the table either. One friend had the larger ceviche bowl paired with a mojito and already asked to come back just for that combo. Even the kid's arroz chaufa with chicken impressed us, with a big enough portion for leftovers. If there's one thing that fell flat, it was the atmosphere--at least early in the evening. When we arrived, the music playing sounded like retro video game tunes, but thankfully it transitioned into upbeat Spanish hits, including some great bachata that gave the space some energy. All in all, despite a few drink misses and a quiet start, this spot is a gem. The food alone is worth the trip, and we're definitely planning to return--next time a little later in the evening to hopefully catch a livelier vibe!
