If you are passing through Springfield MO you have to stop at Black Sheep for lunch! Their burgers and fries are to die for!!! We ordered the Don't Go Bacon My Heart" Burger and the flavor was on point! But.... What really stood out was their Truffle Parmesan Fries. They were hot and crispy and flavorful all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I'm just sad that I don't live closer to have these again soon. Clean establishment, great service and great food. Burgers were ok but Luke warm. Fries were great but also not hot. Our server was busy and didn't like us. Place needed to be swept and I felt like I had asked for a special Soufflé when I asked for more KETCHUP! Maybe the one downtown is still good. Amazing food and service. We were in a rush on our lunch break and our server was more than willing to accommodate. I got the blues burger and was drooling!! One order of fries was plenty for four adults to share (truffle fries or nothing!!). Our server brought us all of the dipping sauces on a tray- doesn't get better than that! Our family ate lunch at Black Sheep Burgers and Shakes after spending the morning and early afternoon at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield. My daughter and I love a peanut butter burger and after noticing they have peanut butter on several items but no burger we asked about adding it to a burger and they did! And it was delicious!! But the fries were the real winner here!! They are the best fries I have ever eaten!! We did the Sea Salt n' Pepper Fries and the Apple n' Hickory Smoked Fries!! Both Delish!! They are served with several sauces: regular ketchup, chipotle ketchup, truffle mayo, sriracha mayo, smoky garlic mayo and ranch. The server was very friendly and did a great job with refills and checking on us!! The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. Would definitely recommend eating at Black Sheep!! read more

Not your average burgers or fries at Black Sheep. We tried the ASAP location on Sunshine and it's great as well. Loved the cloth napkins, clear milk containers serve your water table side. I'm becoming more of a foodie as time goes on. I find myself seeking out restaurants which are a little off the beaten path. I found Black Sheep and chose the Cowboy Carl (sans bacon) along with the Salt & Pepper fries. Needless to say, as a single diner, I couldn't finish it all. The fries were on point, not too soft and not too salty or peppery. The burger was perfect and presented perfectly, as well. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is ideal for the location. I'm not sure where to begin because we've eaten just about everything here Obviously the burgers are amazing so I'll also add that the cauliflower "burger" is excellent and the GF buns are even good. Went for lunch. Had an ugly cheeseburger, smoked fries, and their seasonal shake, the smashing pumpkin (non-alcoholic). Burger was juicy and right ratio of bun, double patty and condiments. Fries were ok, smoke wasn't overpowering and they were crispy (not a soggy one in the basket). The smashing pumpkin shake was decadent yet comforting. Husband has been telling me about this place for a while. We finally made the drive down to Springfield and decided to eat here after our errands were done. It was well worth the wait. We had habanero pickles to start then he got the Cowboy Carl burger and I got the Bacon my Heart burger. We shared a sea salt & pepper fries.. more than enough to share. We are from Springfield, but live out of state. We wanted a place with a dog friendly patio, and saw that Black Sheep had that. Great service is one thing, but this staff went beyond that. Even though the patio was closed on the day/time we arrived, they opened it so we could dine with our dog, Walter. My wife and I have been here a few times now and have yet to be disappointed. The burgers are great. Some of the appetizers are huge (as in big enough to be a meal by themselves) and are very tasty. I highly recommend their shakes. The best shake I've ever had is their strawberry shortcake shake. Oh my goodness, the smell that hits you even before you enter the restaurant will have you salivating for what's to come. They really know what they are doing with these huge, JUICY burgers. We came on a Friday early afternoon and received excellent service and outstanding food! I must say the salt n vinegar fries are delicious AF as is! The fact they brought a sauce sample dish was a major plus. Garlic aioli, truffle aioli, sriracha aioli, mayo, honey mustard, chipotle ketchup, ketchup wow!! Really heavy food. Burgers are huge, too large to take a normal bite. Multiple times we had very long wait times - pre-pandemic. Once they had a few leaks in the ceiling and sat us so close we were getting splashed with the water from the bucket and had to request to be moved. Decor is interesting barn wood industrial feel and staff was very polite and accommodating. Get yourself a double veggie patty and enjoy their take on that patty. We ordered the veggie burger, bleus brother burger, side of salt n pepper fries, a blackberry mint tea, and a strawberry lemonade. Food overall was fine--one thing to change is use better buns. While I appreciate lots of toppings, they overwhelmed the bun which was quickly soggy and needed fork to eat. On bleu burger, one patty was cooked well, the other patty was medium. Fries were crispy but scant on seasoning. Drinks were delicious but so small! Carry out cup held 10 oz, surprising since each drink was $4. This review is base purely on the food and not customer service. The customer service is good. The server come check on me several time and she is nice. While the guy at the front door does not lie about the wait time. When he said 30 minutes he meant it. So if you looks into good customer service, then come here. Also take this with a grain of salt as this is coming from someone that does not eat a lot of American food. All I was think of while eating the bean veggie bugger and the truffle fries is salty and I probably have to run 6 miles after this to get rid all of that sodium. It's just so SALTY. The veggie burger, as I bite through it, the blue cheese is just so dominance that I barely can taste the bean paste, even with lecture and avocado, I can barely feel them but it is just all the blue cheese. It's not as mushy as a lot of other review said, it's just soft. While the truffle fries is taste a slight of garlic and then just salt. Even when I dip it in the sauce, the saltiness just not residue. Overall, I think I'll come back the next time I visit to try out their meat since the veggie does leave a bit disappointed. read more
