    Foodie Burger
    C Daniel C.

We were traveling though Springfield and needed a place to have a quick bite. We choose here because they have gluten free options for my wife. I had the Born in the USA and loved it. My wife had the Foodie and really liked the caramelized onions. We shared the salt and pepper fries and they were excellent. We also loved how they gave us numerous dipping sauces for them. Finally, we topped it all off with the Strawberry Field Milkshake. It was amazing! Overall, it was a great meal and we look forward to going back the next time we are in town.

We stopped for lunch at Black Sheep Burgers & Shakes at the strong encouraged by our daughter!! We were greeted by a friendly server, ordered a Foodie burger, Malt Vinegar Aioli, Garlic Aioli, Sea Salt fries, & Purple Haze Blackberry Shake. They were courteous enough to split the burger for us. The burger was delicious, grilled onions could have been a little more grilled, otherwise perfect. The sea salt fries were the best + Purple Haze Shake was the most delicious shake I have ever sipped + ate small pieces of blackberry pie. Yum!!

In town for a couple days and was told I had to try Black Sheep-and I'm so glad I did! I went before they got busy which allowed my wonderful server Jacob to help me choose between some amazing options. I went with the Espresso Yourself boozy shake (also available in non-alcoholic), the apple n hickory smoked fries, and the what the Dr ordered burger. Wow. Let's start with the shake. Salted caramel, espresso, coffee liqueur, vanilla custard, topped with a tasty bite. Very sweet, but well mixed and the booze kept it from being cloying. The fries-wow. I said that already, but it's worth saying again. I have no idea who thought about smoking fries over wood chips, but you can taste the smoke and it is incredible. Jacob brought me a plate full of sauces to try with the fries as well- my favorite was the smoky garlic mayo. Finally, the burger. A 4oz patty, short rib that was slow cooked in Dr Pepper, and top it all with an egg, truffle mayo and chipotle bbq. Have lots of napkins ready-this is messy in the best way!

Stopped in for lunch right when they opened and enjoyed our experience. The staff were all very friendly and our server was great. He asked if it was our first time and he made great suggestions as well as brought us every type of sauce to try with our fries. I went with the light my fire burger and we shared the truffle and parmesan fries. You get a choice of sauces but like I said, our waiter brought us one of each to try, which was awesome! The fries were delicious and we loved so many of the sauces. The portion of fries was huge and we couldn't even finish it all. All of the sides are large portions to share, rather than a small side to pick with your burger. I thought the burger was great other than it being obnoxiously massive and hard to handle without needing a bib. The homemade pickles were interesting but so tasty. The burger wasn't too spicy, which was my fear, but full of flavor instead. We will definitely come back!

Great service with really pleasant and knowledgeable staff, who get your order out to you quick. The atmosphere/ambiance is also great with dining on a couple of different levels. When it comes to the food everyone was cooked fresh and piping hot. The parm fries were super crispy and seasoned just right. My wife's Elvis shake was great and my Baar garita wasn't lacking in tequila. As for our burger and chicken sandwich they were cooked perfectly and really great flavors. My only gripe is they are greasy and messy to eat, but maybe that's to be expected with a gourmet burger.

Great location and ambiance. Super chill location and people. Great service. Food was amazing. My new favorite burger joint. Will definitely come back. Dr Pepper burger was ridiculously good!!

I've heard mixed reviews on this place. So I finally tried them for lunch yesterday. My husband ordered me the foodie burger, he thought it was appropriate considering! We got the fries with ketchup that had a pleasant kick. Also the spinach salad with modérela walnut and a delightful balsamic dressing Soooo good The burger was made with a special cheese and the bun was as soft as good be. My husband wants to go again and dine in they have special cocktails! Can't wait

This place will bring you back nostalgically with its music atmosphere, and of course the food. I would definitely recommend the "you're all that I want shake" which you can get alcoholic and non-alcoholic. So bring your appetite and the inner child and come on out to this establishment. Service was great and served with a smile

Our order came out quickly, the food was hot and portions were far too much! She kept our drinks full and offered to go boxes. As I stated there were 7 of us and we had full plates and all had sodas and the total was under $90 we would have spent $90 to eat at McDonald's. I would recommend this place! The place isn't fancy looking, definitely no frills or fancy decor. But if you're looking for a good meal and a good portion at a decent price, try this place!! I hope you don't get our first server with the nasty attitude and excuses for her behavior! I would have given this place 5 stars had we not encountered her. I wanted to be honest with the review. 5 stars w/o the hateful waitress, just judging our experience and food and the second waitress. Enjoy!!

We started out with a couple drinks -- a jalapeño Paloma and a whiskey-based drink with smoked maple syrup. They were pricey but had a good taste and were STRONG, so don't let the price discourage you. We had to go with the fried spinach appetizer and were impressed! It was like a more delicate version of a kale chip with a good crunch and great seasoning. My table went with a porterhouse, a chicken Caesar salad, a lobster ravioli, and a mushroom soup. The soup was delicious; it was creamy but also had nice chunks of fancy mushrooms. The Caesar salad got a great reception for the dressing, presentation, and overall taste. The lobster ravioli showed why it's been on menus for nearly three decades! The porterhouse was a bit overcooked for a medium but was said to be excellent in flavor. All plates were cleaned! The desserts were solid, with a top-notch homemade tiramisu being the star. The ambiance was also great, with the music being fun and the decor being a little upscale without feeling uncomfortable or "stuffy". This is the best meal I had while visiting the area, and I look forward to coming back again. We felt so welcomed and like we were in a restaurant that genuinely appreciated us being there. And the feelings were mutual!

Unfortunately, I left disappointed because the food quality just wasn't what I remembered. I had been telling my wife how great the food used to be--almost like gourmet bar food--and was really looking forward to sharing that experience with her. The smash burger no longer tasted like the duck-fat burger I remembered, and the fries definitely didn't seem to be house-made anymore. They tasted more like a lower-quality frozen product, which was a letdown. On the positive side, the service was excellent. Even with the restaurant getting busy and a live band setting up, the staff stayed friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. One thing to note is that we initially arrived around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, only to find out they weren't open and was told that something came up and they didnt open until 3:00 p.m. on this Sunday. Overall, I still enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciate the great service, but I hope the kitchen can get back to the food quality that made Lindberg's one of my favorite spots in the past.
