Love Georgia Mac's! It's a great place to come and have lunch solo on the patio (I tend to do this during off peak hours, so it's quieter and I can read a book and so it's not so uncomfortable being surrounded by a bunch of tables with lots of people at them and I'm a lonely heart. LOL!). I have also come with a large group of people during peak evening hours and with live music so loud you can barely hear each other speak. Both experiences are excellent. Service is always outstanding and the food is good. I love their deviled eggs and burgers. I definitely need to branch out on the menu and try some more items. Highly recommend. read more

Charged for a second ticket that wasn't mine. This happened in May 2026 too where a 2 was added in front of my 7.00 tip to make it 27.00 on a 35.00 order!! Went today spent 40.00 left a 7.00 tip got a pull from my bank fir the 40.00 and a second charge for 19.45! Not my ticket!! Is this a mistake or a scam by servers to make money off of our cards!!?? Does everyone check there charges? Probably not. But for this ti happen both times we went in a 2 month time is pretty fishy. Watch your charges from Georgia macs and put a zero in front of your tip if it's less than 10.00 or they may add a 2 or 3 in front of your 5.00 tip!!! read more

Elevated bar food. We were there with friends and the food was very good. We all enjoyed our meals. My only issue was that the bun on my sandwich was soggy. Normally I would write a scathing diatribe after an experience this bad. So maybe it says more if I don't? I don't know, I mean I don't generally write bad reviews, and to write a really bad review the experience just has to be horrible. This would explain why I feel the need to write this, but honestly I just can't do it justice as I don't have the emotional bandwidth right now to go into anything this horrible in detail. Short take: We never got a sever until we tracked one down. All the food was bad. There were four of us. The burgers and onion rings were cold and greasy. I had the pick 2 sliders, which tasted like airline food. They were cold, stale, and just nasty. I ate a single burger slider, and half a ham and cheese slider before giving up, and the pretzel sticks were the best Costco has to offer apparently. The wife had the catfish, which was crazy hot, which made us wonder if our other food cooled as they prepared hers, in any case she said it had almost no actual flavor to it. In the end, after waiting forever to get served and the have bad food eventually show up, we were all hangry and sniping at each other. So take friends here, put that relationship to the test if you dare. read more

Service was spot on. Forgot to bring my hot sauce with me, but was given two kinds to compliment the fried okra beautifully. They also hade malted vinegar for the fish.i did save one piece and some hush puppies home to try with my sauces. Went amazingly with of this years sauce made. Who is great it's a blend of Midwestern and southern cooking too best you love the atmosphere and just that feeling of family. I was with a bunch of seniors. This place was a happy accident. We chose it from Yelp when my wife and I came to Springfield, MO. We had little idea what to expect. The service was marvelous, quick, caring, and efficient. My wife went with the fried pickle chips and the broccoli cheddar soup, while I chose the fried mushrooms, the BBQ rib sandwich, and the sweet potato fries. It was all delicious, and things went so well that we asked for the manager - they get the complaints, so it only seemed fair that they should get the compliments. The atmosphere was fun. There were abut half a dozen TV screens showing different sporting events, including bull riding and NASCAR funny car time trials. If you didn't immediately see something you liked, there would be something else soon enough. We will most definitely be returning when we come back to Springfield. read more

Man, this place was an excellent find. My husband actually found this place and suggested that we go there for dinner. The service and the food were excellent. Everything was affordably priced. This place is a bar, yes, but they are family friendly before 10 PM. I believe the kitchen closes at 9 PM. The food is really upscale for being in a bar. Fresh ingredients, nicely prepared. My only critique if I had to give one was that the chicken fried steak was really chewy and I'm not a fan of chicken fried steak when it's like that. Other than that, I have no complaints. It is rare to find a good bar - that also has good food - but here's one that nails it! FOOD: Start with The Devil Went Down to Georgia as an appetizer; 2 each of 4 types of deviled eggs - WE LOVED THESE! My BLFGT sammy had the tasty bacon that I live on, with fried green tomatoes! If you've never had fried green tomatoes, this is the best way to enjoy them. Two thumbs and a big toe way up for this! My wife ravaged the Chicken Tender Dinner, and brought home enough chicken to feed our 3 hungry dogs! We both loved the crispy fries, and her Cheesy Corn was a nice touch. DRINKS: the Chocolate Cake Shot caught our eye, and we enjoyed the taste so much, we'll make these at home! Drink special today was American Honey; also good. My double-vodka & Sprite was strong (home run)! Soft drinks are also available of course. The bartender has just the right balance of being helpful, from a respectful distance, so we could talk privately amongst ourselves. When your favorite team or league finals is on the line, your selection of a sports bar is critical. There are only a handful in Springfield that have the perfect combination of atmosphere, good chow & beverage options with a plethora of TV screens with a perfect view at any angle regardless of table. Let's be clear, GMac's is a perfect sports bar hitting all the targets. The service was outstanding, courtesy of Hannah (look her up). The food was surprisingly good, especially for a sports bar - some dishes were even great. The drinks were outstanding - kudos to the bartender. The atmosphere was lively without being obnoxious but, of course, we went there early in the evening. I saw a table of geriatrics next to families with children, and bevies of friends out for the evening...a most unusual mix for that environment and all having a wonderful time. This would be a good stand-alone, Southern-flair restaurant on its own even without the sports. It's nice to have the menu variety to appeal to all tastes.Two of us started with Mac's Margaritas which were divine. The third had a Georgia Tea which was obviously delicious. My wife & I split an order of Fried Mushrooms upon the suggestion of our waitress and they were perfect: firm but juicy with a light batter with a side of their special ranch dressing...delicious. My wife had a a lovely Blue Cheese Wedge while my sister had the heart-deadly Fried Chicken Livers and Chicken Wings which were apparently tremendously satisfying. I had the Chicken Avocado Wrap with a side of Fried Okra - some of the best I've had in memory. We were all too sated for dessert though it looked enticing. I really didn't expect excellence of the golden triad that we experienced: Price, quality of food & drink, and ambiance. It was perfect for our sports-oriented evening. Bartenders are rude. They seem to be more interested in talking to each other then serving drinks. Watched them pass two gentlemen that just came in and stood at the bar 6 times before I finally said, "ma'am?" When she looked at me I simply pointed at them before she gave them the time of day. The place is full of underage drinkers and a wasted female with a husband that gets in your personal space and hits on you just so her incompetent husband can try to start a fight with you. Georgia Mac's is our regular go to place for delicious and well priced bar food & more! When our relatives come from out of town they love it! Service is always friendly and the prices reasonable. Very clean and have expanded adding an additional dining area and an outside patio. Beers and mixed drinks are great, not sure about the wine. I've ordered the fajita chicken salad and it's consistently been amazing and filling! Their burgers and wraps are always great as well. Went in today for a club; wanted something light. It was extremely dead but still took our waitress awhile to take our order. Ordered water, and a chocolate milk for the kid, but they didn't have chocolate milk.. I ordered my club, and the wife got a BLT. After about 20 minutes our food arrived, it was smaller than I last remembered. The sandwiches were saturated in fat, grease, and butter. I wanted something light and it definitely wasn't. Felt like I was eating pure fat and butter. Never again all done not going back again. read more
