came here because we heard they offer $2 oyster deals and it was great! however the deal is only for one specific oyster and not the full menu, but it was still decent for the price. their truffle fries were good as well. the ambiance inside was nice and we got to watch part of the world cup finals while dining.

Stopped by Black Lamb for dinner as it was close to my Hotel. Was a lively place. Got the mussels in green curry! Love green curry and this sauce was good! Not the best I've had but solid. It was topped with a crispy slice of sourdough bread. Recommend for a quick bite!

A south end favorite! I love going to the black lamb for their ambiance, great food and drinks and amazing service. This is a great spot for drinks, small bites or dinner with friends. If you like a nice cocktail, check out their drink menu for cool drinks. They also have a seafood bar with a great selection of oysters.

Visited the Black Lamb for the first time last night. My two friends and I were greeted nicely and promptly seated at a table. Our servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt at times, while at other times we would have preferred faster service. Drinks were delicious - The gimlet and the old fashioned were both crafted with care and were perfect. For food, we started with the artichoke dip, which was served warm with large chips. The dip was creamy and tasty, and the quantity of dip and chips matched each other well. I would definitely order this again. My friends also ordered a dozen of the $2 oysters, and enjoyed them also. We also ordered a bowl of chowder (not a very large bowl for the price), a cheeseburger, and the lamb burger. The fries that came with the burgers were really good. They were shoestring fries with a great crunch to them. I had ordered my cheeseburger with the sauce on the side, but it arrived with the sauce on it which ended up making the bun soggy, slippery and difficult to pick up. I wish there were more choices on the menu and the prices were a little on the higher side - $24 for a cheeseburger is too much for what we received. The Black Lamb does have a nice atmosphere - it was relaxing, warm, and comfortable. Service was friendly, but woud I go back? Maybe I would if my friends wanted to go there. But I would probably prefer to go somewhere else given the wide variety of restaurants in the area.

Creme brulee with strange items on top

Great meal. The cornbread was outstanding. The lamb ribs were very flavorful with a satay kind of sauce. The creme brulee itself was good, but the toppings were odd. There was a dry foam that was like bread midway through being vaporized, and the other accoutrements felt like things you'd use to lure a bird into a trap. Overall, great experience and I plan to come back.

If you're looking for a great restaurant in the South End, this spot is definitely up there with some of the best! Their dishes are crafted to perfection all while maintaining a level of simplicity that celebrates the culinary skill of the chefs and the depth of flavor from the intentional ingredient pairings. Everything I tasted felt effortlessly flawless and incredibly satisfying. Right off of beautiful Tremont St, this spot has such a chill, calming vibe perfect for any meal, but emphasizing the comforting energy of dining alongside people you love- the dinner felt just as much about the company as it did about the meal all thanks to the beautiful environment and accommodating/caring service. I cannot recommend this establishment enough! It's perfect for a calm night out with friends or family to enjoy a mouth-watering elevated meal. Pro tip, get their lamb burger!! It's a perfect reflection of their amazing menu and is absolutely spectacular! You will not be disappointed dining here!

Came here for lunch on Friday early afternoon, party of 2, no reservations needed since it wasn't crowded on a weekday, sat inside. Our order: corn bisque with salmon ($32), Brussels sprouts, poke ($20), 3 oysters ($2 each , special of the day). Everything was $80 ish total including the 4% wage fee. Pros: - DELICIOUS seafood. Salmon was well cooked, hiramasa poke was so unique (reminded me more of ceviche with sashimi sized fish with shrimp chips) and flavorful with different textures that blended together really well. Brussels sprouts were a great tasty veggie (much needed after long travels) - kind service - our waiter was helpful in rebalancing our tippy table and service was efficient - beautiful upscale ambiance inside, but not so fancy that you feel underdressed. The bar area is really pretty. - indoor and outdoor seating available - walkable from train Cons: - none. Great menu. Will be back.

Really great place and would go back. Service was just perfect. Atmosphere is super. Not too fancy but a nice place. Kind of wish we'd sat outside but when making reservations you never know what the weather will be. Food was quite good, a bit pricey. But location was good. I could have skipped the cornbread. Others loved it. Burger and Lamb Burger were well liked. Grilled cheese was great but too rich as an entree so I mostly shared it. Good dessert.

I've been to Black Lamb three times now, once for my birthday and have had great experiences all three times! They have $2 oysters every weekday or day until 5 (I believe all day on Mondays) and they have a great assortment of food options and drinks! I have ordered their salmon entree, the cheeseburger, and the mussels and they were all delicious! Service is great and the ambience inside is perfect for group outings, dates, or hangouts with friends.

I popped in for lunch and had the cheeseburger with bacon, fries and a couple beers. I've been to Black Lamb before for a couple drinks and it is always good time. It gets packed with people and the ambiance feels like that of an elevated happy hour. This was my first time having lunch and being there during the middle of the day. It was quiet. I am a burger lover and I must admit, when it arrived it was not visually pleasing and honestly, I would rank it as just okay. Especially for the $26 price tag. The fries were the better of the two and I was impressed by the large, generous amount of fries. So that was the win. The bartender was nice and suggested a good beer when I requested something on the lighter side. I will be back for another drink soon. I'm sure there are better food menu items, and I like this establishment, so I will try something else next time!

Came here for a quick lunch before leaving my business trip. I was seated quickly and had Greta service. The inside is a typical burger joint but very comfortable. The burger was delicious, slightly messy, but if a burger isn't messy then I believe it isn't a true burger. The bun was soft, the patty was cooked PERFECT. I also enjoyed the caramelized onions and the special sauce. The fries with the different dipping sauces were great. I also did the oysters to start, and was not disappointed. A solid choice- very high quality and fresh. I have no complaints and would be back!

I enjoyed everything I tried including the artichoke dip (which had really nice chips), duck frites, lamb burger (which came with a lot of fries), and rose mojito (not very strong). Somewhat pricey as all things in Boston are but portions were good. Automatic 20% service fee is added for groups greater than 5. Side note - I used to walk by all the time and it made me said when their $1 oysters changed to $2.

Great bar to chill at. Two TVs, amazing service and great food/drinks. One of the few bargains left in Boston is $2 oysters until 5. I shouldn't be telling you this, but the oyster deal is even on the weekend! Shuck away!

In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.

My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.
