I manage a community of 62 townhomes in Mill Valley. Black Diamond Paving installed speed bumps around our clubhouse. Aljohn the representative ensured the project went perfectly. We had clear pictures of what everything would look like in the proposal, and the crew showed up on time and maintained a safe work environment throughout the project. The bid was very competitively priced. All around 5 stars and our go to for paving! read more

Black Diamond Paving - General Contractors Near Me - Hayward, California

Absolutely horrible company to engage. My HOA contracted with these guys and, despite the enormous efforts to coordinate the multiple phases of paving, black diamond managed to royally mess up and refused to remediate. Context - Got misled by the ratings on here - should've looked more closely - many of them are profile with few connections and limited history. Anyways, if you don't want to end up losing your mind, pick any other paving company and you will probably end up better off. read more

Splattered asphalt over my garage door, neighbor's garage door, and the facade/stucco of my building. After over 1 week, multiple phone calls and emails, this has still not been resolved. Chris, the project manager, offered to touch up the paint, but did not agree to a professional painter. As an analogy, if you own a bicycle company and hit my car, I would not agree to you personally painting over my car. It needs to go to a body shop. No response from Dawn Launer, manager, and the receptionist has stopped picking up my last 3 phone calls (straight to voicemail). read more

Our company used Black Diamond Paving for a large commercial industrial job and they performed up to expectations. Their communication was outstanding throughout the project and their pricing was very competitive. Project result was excellent. Quality workmanship. We will be using them for more projects in the future. Their estimating is accurate and they stick to the pricing they quote without large change orders. read more

Their customer service providing proposals has a fast turnaround they answer all questions thoroughly. If you have concrete needs I definitely recommend checking them out. Great company! read more

If you get Brandon as a consultant be aware it might not go as planned. No show on first scheduled appointment to get a quote. I called asking if there were still coming. He rescheduled for later that week. The day before that scheduled meeting I get this email "I need to cancel our appointment for tomorrow morning. Our backlog is backed up right now and we can't get to this job. If you can wait until late next week to reschedule, please let me know. If not, I recommend reaching out to some other companies." Definitely won't be rescheduling a 3rd time. Complete waste of my time. read more

Black Diamond Paving just finished repaving our HOA. During the prep work they dug up cables, removed the top-soil and then claimed they hadn't done it and said the cables must have been laying on the surfaced all the time. It was obvious by the missing soil, and cable what had been done. They refused to complete the job and repair damages.. I would not recommend this company. After making several contacts with the company they sent someone out to rebury the Comcast cable and replace the top soil. read more

Our HOA (440 homes) just had Black Diamond Paving repair two dips in the street, sealcoat our entire development, and repaint all of our parking spots and street markings. They did a remarkable job, and we would highly recommend them to anyone else. Black Diamond's bid was not the lowest, but their knowledge of asphalt and their professionalism made them the our choice. The crew, including supervisor Kristina, was professional and responsive. A high priority of the Board of Directors is keeping the residents abreast of any work that may cause an inconvenience. Black Diamond distributed notices in advance, and listed the impacted streets with dates/times to give residents the information they needed. The crew, on the days of the sealcoat, put up cones and caution tape early in the morning prior to work being started. The employees doing the work were careful to keep the sealant on the street and not on the abutting concrete. They worked steadily to finish so that the sealcoat was completed in the scheduled timeframe. Black Diamond's work was first-rate. We could not be more satisfied. In the future, when we have a need for street repair/replacement, we will definitely solicit a bid from Black Diamond Paving! read more

this paving company is top notch they do high quality work, are conscientious hardworking and pay close attention to detail. We are 5 star supporters of this business! Black Diamond Paving is a professional force that came in last week and installed 237,000 square feet of pavement for our community in Napa Valley. Multiple streets, 212 homes and 350+ residents were accommodated and respectfully communicated with. From the initial sale and project consultant process with Derek Thomas to the installation leadership and expertise of Fernando Ruvalcaba. This project was stellar. Additional Project support from Brian Lisco proved invaluable as well. The finished product is solid and the team that works with these field leaders worked so hard and left us with a clean job site and beautiful new streets that has drawn raves from our residents! We strongly recommend this company! They are fair, honest and deliver! read more

I would like to extend my biggest compliment and appreciation for the seal coating project recently completed. It was one of the best experiences our company has had the pleasure of going through. To make jobs work and run as smooth as possible, it is a two way street. It is important for me to handle our part as it is for Rich to handle Black Diamond's work. Rich provided a quick site visit to guide us through preparing for the upcoming seal coating. The project was large scale and preparation was a lot of work. Being prepared allowed the Black Diamond crew to come in and efficiently do their job. Which ultimately makes all the work look effortless. It was worth it. Rich, everyone on your crews (sealing guys and striping guys) were professional, courteous, kind, prepared and hard working. Will you please extend a thank you to each crew member. It was a true pleasure to have all of them on the property. It also didn't hurt that I am a long time and avid Jeff Gordon fan! Loved the machine! :) Give Rich at Black Diamond the opportunity with your work. You will be pleased. Black diamond has done several jobs for our homeowners association. As president of the Board, they have done a great job. Working with Mike Bower has been great. Phoney company. They can't do a simple paver job. Call them at your own risk.

Ours was a relatively small job in a very neglected area. Dan and Alex were very helpful in providing a solution that met our budget. The crew arrived on time and were finished that afternoon. These guys are great. Without a doubt, would use them again if a paving need comes up. read more

Love these guys. Worked with, Matt Rieffanaugh, and the process and work they did couldn't have been better. Price was very competitive.

Very poor planning was done when it came to this company repaving for our HOA. They started way to late in the day and as a result residents were not able to park in their carports when they were told they would be able to. There was absolutely no parking available on the street due to the number of residents that were inconvenienced at the same and the fact that parking is only available on one side of our street. But when you live under an HOA they're going to go with the lowest bid or the company who is friends with someone on the BOD because in the end they could careless about the residents. read more

Black Diamond just finished a repaving project for a HOA I manage in Fremont. This is the second time I have used Black Diamond for a paving project and I could not be more pleased. Mike and his team are very professional and responsive. As a property manager, I am most concerned about keeping the homeowners informed of what is happening and going on. Black Diamond takes care of all the notices and gives the homeowners plenty of information and notice of start dates. They provide a cell phone number for the homeowners to contact the foreman with any questions. For me, this is a huge service. If I have a project as invasive as a repaving project can be and I do not receive one call from a homeowner, it is a testament to their great communication. The work was great. There lines are very clean and there was no overspray/spill as you sometimes see. Work was done on time and on schedule. I will continue to solicit bids from Black Diamond for other HOA's I manage. read more

We hired this company to do some repairs in our complex. They gave a clear and fair bid and did exactly what they said that they would. There was a bit of cleanup that we had to ask for, but there was no push-back. I recommend them. read more

I'm the President of my HOA and we just had Black Diamond Paving finish a sealcoating of our development along with repainting all of our parking spots and curbs. They did an AWESOME job and I would highly recommend them to anyone else. Rich the Project Manager was a pleasure to work with. Black Diamond had done a complete reconstruction of our driveways 7 years ago, so when he came to meet with me for the sealcoating bid he still had all the specs from last time with him which really impressed me. The crew doing the work were very professional, friendly, and did great quality work! I'd like to comment on the review by "Truth Fairy' who obviously has no clue on the bid process that an HOA board goes through with contractors bids. Our board got 3 bids for the sealcoating and painting job. One bid was 4 days of work, another 2 days, and Black Diamond was 1 day. Our HOA only has 1 driveway in and out of our complex, so Rich said he would just put on a larger crew to complete the work in 1 day and be less of a inconvenience to our residents. Black Diamond's bid was NOT the cheapest but not the most expensive one either. Our board decided to go with them since they were the most professional of all the companies giving us bids, and that how he would put on a larger crew than he would normally do to be less of a hardship on our residents. As for the 'Truth Fairy' stating the crew started late, I highly doubt that. I"m sure her HOA got the same letter as ours did from Black Diamond of the details of the project. It clearly states on the letter that the ending time is approximate and that if the coating hasn't cured yet that some areas might be closed until the following morning until it's fully dried. The drying all depends on the weather and our HOA had a handful of carports blocked off until the next morning since the weather was overcast here in July on the day of the work. Those areas are also in the shade which affects the drying process. Black Diamond's crew did a great job of directing our residents on how to safely walk in and out of our complex during the work. Rich even provided his direct number for any of our residents to contact him on questions or reasonable special accommodations. So to finalize, I would highly recommend Black Diamond Paving to anyone else. Thanks for the great job Rich, our residents love how great it looks now in our complex! read more

I've used them in the past and was very impressed then. Had them competing with several other contractors for a large job for our small business. They were very competitive on price and won the job. Derek communicated with us well about job date and starting time and followed up shortly before the job date. They were in and out in 1 day as they had agreed and did a phenomenal job. We are very pleased: Competitive pricing, good communication, perfect execution...what more do you need. read more

Black Diamond has done big and small projects for HOAs that I manage. Clients have been impressed with the quality of work, and the projects were extremely well organized from a management perspective. Even complex scheduling issues on very large projects were identified in advance, simplified, and communicated effectively to residents. Rich made himself immediately available to address any concerns and answer questions throughout the entire process. I would absolutely recommend Black Diamond. read more

Our HOA had a very positive experience dealing with Black Diamond. All phases of our street repair work was done as quoted. The 'postings' were placed as reminders for the residents and the workers showed up exactly on time for each phase of our project. We feel we made the best choice with Black Diamond; they did a great job and were easy to work with. read more
