I've worked with Farr and his team 2 times. First time I contacted him to replace only 2 showers in my old condo. A lot of contractors and businesses I contacted for quotes ended up either not showing up because the job was too small or they gave me outrageous quotes, but Farr was the only one to give a fair quote and a detailed scope of work. My previous roommate and I were absolutely thrilled with the final result, and the showers were a big selling point when I sold off my condo. Fast forward 2 years later and we purchased our first house which needed a lot of cosmetic renovations. We had at least five consultation and made the final decision to go with EZ bath. We are very pleased with their pricing, quality, and communication. It's very family-oriented and they are very accommodating to our request. We paid deposit and the rest after work has been inspected and done. We did a renovation on our bedroom shower and chose Sentrial material due to the ease of maintenance and waterproof feature. Visually they are very attractive and look like the Calcatta white marble that I love without the pain of maintainance. We went over the option via his laptop and he was very knowledgeable, resourceful and was able to answer all my questions. During the construction, there was a situation where it wasn't perfect and the floor was 1 degree off. Instead of covering it up and be done with, they were honest and replaces the part to get it perfect. We really appreciate their integrity and honesty. TL; DR - Did a good job and Farr is good at guiding you through what you're looking for, but get other quotes and ask for a detailed invoice It's been a couple years (summer 2019) since EZ Baths completed the work, but I'm looking at getting other work done (not the bathrooms) so I thought this might be helpful. Plus, the owner asked me a couple times to write a review, but I usually don't these unless it's a rave or I was really unhappy. Anyhow, we got our upstairs bathroom redone. Redoing a sliding glass tub, putting in a Toto toilet, new cabinets in the sink area and mirror, replacing a window in the bathroom and also a whole house fan. We were debating between central air or getting the bathrooms redone and Farr suggested a whole house fan (ok when the weather is mild, but not for these hot summers we've been having). Farr was great at making suggestions on what we needed, but he would say, this is more expensive than that, or this is just a little bit less than that. I didn't ask for a detailed estimate or invoice so that's on me. I think it was a little over $10,000 for everything, also more costly because we wanted it properly permitted. The work was done in about a week (from what I can remember), though I was disappointed that during the renovation they turned the water off cause of a leak, but they didn't tell us. So when we got home, we turned on the water and noticed the leak. Because we didn't plan on not having water, I spent a couple nights at a friends. Owner is very responsive to texts and he was apologetic about the miscommunication. Because we had a permit pulled, the inspector came and said we needed to change out the lights. So my husband and I went to Home Depot and bought new lights and EZ Baths installed them - I think it was $100 to install. We got our permits and the bathroom was complete. Window was not done very well, but that's not their specialty so it was my bad for having them do it. Little things like the old cabinets they ripped out must have been a bit bigger than the new cabinets so you can see the line where the paint ends. It wasn't discussed in the contract, but I mistakenly thought it would be like HG tv where you come back and it's all perfect haha. We did have a leak in the sink area last year which Farr promptly came and fixed. It was a failure of one of the pipe parts or something. There are a few parts on the cabinet where the wood finish is coming off (probably from my husband's belt rubbing against it). We also had two major leaks from the upstairs bathroom to our garage down below, which stemmed from clogs. I am only guessing, but I think it's because our new toilet is a low flow toilet and we have old pipes. So it's creating a backup. I think we need to replace the pipe in the garage which we are getting quotes from plumbers to do that work. We'd likely still use EZ baths when we have enough funds to do the downstairs bathroom. I would likely just ask for a detailed estimate on how much things cost and get multiple quotes. I do feel a little bad, cause he has all 5 star reviews. Honestly, it's probably more my inexperience with renovations (being afraid to ask for a detailed estimate) and asking for work (like the window) that were outside their scope. read more

I was looking for someone to do my Mom's oh-so-small bathroom and had a hard enough time getting contractors to respond and when they did most of them gave me ridiculous estimates or that the project didn't meet their minimum. We finally decided to redo one of our bathrooms and powder room and were on a strict budget. Additionally, we are working professionals, not home repair enthusiasts, and frankly have no interest; going to Home Depot is a total chore for us. Farr gave some great suggestions, all of which did not add to his bill. You could tell he takes a lot of pride in the projects they take, and they just want the final product to wow us. He took all of our changes and last minute decisions in stride and everything went smoothly. The additional things we wanted he gave a fair and straight forward price, updated the bill as we went, everything was transparent and very fair. In the end, we could not have been any happier with the work, and I'm happy to report that after about 3 months everything is holding up great. At the final bill I was prepared to be blindsided by something, but the bill was exactly how we talked about down the penny. As Farr said, they don't nickel and dime, what we agreed is what we agreed. Last point, there was a situation during the project where the water pressure was low, they made it a point to ensure we had working bathrooms before leaving every night, and on a Friday evening I discovered an issue. I texted Farr about the issue so that they could address it when they returned on Monday, no biggy since we still had other sinks we could use fine. Farr texted back and said he was on his way to handle it himself. As anyone who has hired contractors know, you always get the unshakable feeling that they're trying to find more opportunities to take your money, it's business after all. With EZ Bath, that was absolutely not the case. Farr does his best to capture everything upfront, frankly the job would have been done in the time he estimated had I been more decisive at the beginning. He absolutely understands customer service, is transparent, and professional. He definitely delivered everything he promised with a smile. And a shoutout to Martin who handled much of the project, a true craftsman who insists on doing all the little things to make the final picture perfect. I waited too long to get this project done. I finally spent enough time at home after surgery to do some research and got some quotes for the bathroom remodel. I don't disagree with reviewers who say the EZ Baths "did a good job" after seeing their work days or weeks after they were finished. But the true measure of quality includes gauging the condition of the "product" after years have passed. Three and a half years ago, we had our bathrooms remodeled by EZ Baths. Recently, a plumber reported that one of the toilets was leaking waste water at the bottom (see photo), and the reason was that the toilet was NOT BOLTED TO THE FLOOR. The only things holding the toilet down were gravity and a good smothering of caulk. So as the toilet was being used through the few years since, it rocked back and forth causing leaks around the sealing rings. It appears that the worker who did the toilet was more concerned with outside appearance, than safety and quality. I also remember that our agreement with EZ Baths was for them to remove ALL existing tiles on the wall before putting in the new tub. During construction, my wife noticed that the workers attempted to simply lay the new tub over the old tiles - contrary to our agreement. So we demanded that they re-do it, removing the old tiles first. If the old tiles were kept in there, mildew would have grown and spread uncontrollably behind the new tub. Again, a shortcut that does not measure up to long-term quality. read more
