I'm a full year late to review this company. They'd get five stars except for mistakes on my part. I didn't price-shop before going with them for a shower remodel so I'll never feel sure that I got a good price; that's on me. Also, I selected a shower wall design that I don't like; despite having seen pictures and an actual physical sample, I'm disappointed every time I look at it. Also, they took great care to put tarps down to protect my old, grubby stair carpet but I didn't ask them to be careful of the bathroom floor, my favorite in the house; my house cleaner made it look good as new once they finished. That said, they designed it exactly to my specs, did the work quickly, even accommodating a delay on my part, and gave me a result that I'm pleased with every time I shower. I had the tub spout moved toward the back of the shower so it wouldn't be in somebody's back if they sat in that end of the tub. The crew boss said he might recommend that to future customers (but I'd suggest moving it toward the front). The shower head was offset to the front to help prevent water spraying out. The extra plumbing was expertly done. I don't use the shower seat but I may need it in future. and it can serve as a table while using the tub. Two grab bars and a non-slip tub bottom mean I feel very safe at age 77. Everything is scaled to my 6'3" height without putting it out of reach of future owners and possible children. The corner shower caddy is within reach while standing or sitting in the tub. I enjoy it every time I use it except for my mistakes as noted. read more

Owner seems legitimately concerned with the quality of the work and says he's working on improving the team's work & communication. My experience was that the installation was somewhat sloppy, getting things fixed was difficult, the sales manager told us many things that then weren't communicated to the installation team. Basics that we shouldn't have to request (such as splash guard on the shower door so water doesn't leak out onto floor) didn't get installed. Balls were dropped. Waiting for a final fix and I will update this once that's done with a new photo. read more

While the quality of the work is robust, they do not know their codes for permits. An "oversight" of electrical work clearly evident prior to project start derailed my remodel in favor of True North profiting. Beware of the "warranty" TLDR: Shower door they installed with remodel exploded on our son, took over 2 months to replace, and I experienced the worst customer service ever! We had our bathtub done in Jun '23 and everything went great. We paid more than we had originally planned but we thought that going through NorCal (this business' former name) was worth it bc of the warranty. Fast forward to Oct '25 and my teenage son is in the bathroom and all of a sudden we hear a big boom and the sound of glass shattering. I PANICKED thinking he fainted and then fell through the glass shower door. He came running out and was covered in shards of glass everywhere, blood and cuts all over his arms and legs and was confused and freaked out. He said he was on the toilet when all of a sudden the shower door just exploded and shattered glass everywhere. (Photo attached) Apparently the integrity of the glass can be affected during production, shipping, or installation. I wasn't sure what to do because we only have one bathroom for our family of four and my kids (and myself) were now terrified to go into our bathroom. We decided to get a hotel room for the night until we could figure out what our next steps were. I also found out that you could buy safety film to put on glass doors to hold them together in case they shatter. We decided to buy it for the remaining door and then got a shower curtain so we could continue to use our shower. I remembered we had a warranty through this company and emailed the last correspondence I had and never got a response. So I called two days later the number on the email and asked if this was covered. It was so I was relieved. I had questions on how long it would take and if I could have them put the safety film on the doors even if I had to pay for it. The call center said they would have to ask the installers and someone would get back to me. It took ONE MONTH for me to even talk to the coordinator for installing the new shower door. And the only reason someone called me back was bc I called back the call center, asked for the supervisor and she escalated the issue to the owner. I magically got a call the same day. I was told someone would respond in 5 days. I called every week to follow up. Then when the coordinator called, she took no time to ask me questions and just immediately asked if they could come replace the door the next day. We have one bathroom for a family of 4. I work, my husband works, my kids have school and activities. I can't just drop all my plans bc they remembered to finally call me back. I reminded her I had questions on how long the install would take as well as if they could install the safety film as now our family was anxious every time we were in our bathroom. I asked if we could be reimbursed for the safety film we bought for the shower door and the shower curtain for their delay in response (less than $100) and was told no. We finally got to an agreed scheduled install day but they said they couldn't do the safety film. Fine. I was annoyed but we would just do it ourselves. They said the installation should take like 1hr bc all they had to do was literally just pop another shower door in. The installers show up and they start bringing in more materials and mention they are changing both doors. I was confused but I was like, "Okay maybe we're just getting a whole new set of doors?" Then I notice the new doors are a different size than what we currently have. WHAT?!?! Apparently when we had our doors originally installed, they gave us ones that were different than what was recorded. WHY?? I was PISSED. This back and forth took another couple hours to figure out and then finally get the new door in (which btw had different hardware) so now they don't match. I asked for compensation again of the safety film and shower curtain (less than $100) and was told management would call me back. I have followed up numerous times and have been ghosted. It's now Mar '26. I don't even care about the money but this experience was AWFUL and not to mention traumatic. read more

The sales person Chris was fabulous but after that it went down hill. appointment got scheduled then canceled then scheduled again. Two men can on the first day. The next day they had a schedule issue and different show up until 2:30pm. worked on Wednesday it was finally finished on Friday but as I was cleaning up I noticed. Tile was cracked. I called the project manager Max, he came out, fortunately for them we had a pair piece a tile so it was able to be fixed. What was upsetting it was broke and nothing was said. Two days later my husband was taking a shower and whole shower head came off only the pipe was coming out of the wall. Max was called immediately And came out to replace the shower head. I cannot say enough about this company. From the salesperson to the installers it was a wonderful experience. The installation was done earlier than expected. Unfortunately they found termites behind my bathroom tile and had to replace all the wood causing them a two day delay. This was handled in a very professional way and they replaced the wood, wiring, etc. and even patched the paint where needed. Gabor and Jose were our installers - they were so professional, easy to work with and the cleanest contractors we have ever worked with. You couldn't tell they had been here when they left each evening. Besides tolerating my barking dog, I hope they found the job was a success for all! I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!! We had a great experience working with True North for remodeling 2 of our bathrooms. We need to have the shower/bath tub areas remodeled and changed our sink fixtures, and each bathroom took 3 days. Our project managers were Tim and Max, and our installers were Gabor and Balint. They were all respectful and communicated us realistic expectations on timelines, and asked us questions as needed, and we were happy with the finished product! Two phone calls to request an on-site visit and quote, only to receive another text at 3:30 pm the day before the scheduled appointment saying they needed further information by 5:00;pm or they could not send anyone out. Unfortunately, I did not see that text. I can see why some people complain about unexpected delays. Unable or unwilling to even keep an appointment for a quotation. After receiving 2 other consultations and quotes, I decided to move forward with NorCal Remodeling for the following reasons: - COMMUNICATION: Initial schedule and consultation communication via web form, phone call, email, and text were clear and punctual. Each representative hand off the project to the corresponding person with ease and everyone is kept in the loop during hand offs. - PRICE: Initial quote was slightly higher than others, however, with their promotions, it was reduced to competitive price. Full shower/tub and vanity remodel was $15K (purchased the vanity, mirror, and lights separately). Plus, the lifetime guarantee also gave me a peace of mind. - CONVENIENCE: I appreciated the concept that one business, NorCal Remodeling Group, would handles all the supplies purchase (through Bath Planet), delivery, and installation. While other companies I consulted with required either I source all the materials, or only managed the shower/tub but not the vanity section. - SERVICE: Design Consultant/Jason B: My first meeting was with Jason B, who was a Design Consultant/Sales. He was friendly, informative, and paid attention to details. For example, he measured the wet area and verified with Project Manager to confirm that a deep soaker tub would fit in the area no problem. He further advised me on my vanity and light purchase to ensure that I'm not going to incur additional labor fees that were outside of the initial contract (ie. moving the electricals and plumbing). He visited on site each day of installation to ensure project is going as planned, and collected payments. Installers: There were a group of 4 installers on Day #1, and 3 installers on Day #2 to finish the job. They were respectful of our home and you can tell they enjoy their work. There was a slight language barrier but we managed. It's been 4 days since NorCal Remodeling Group transformed our guest bathroom. Had the experience of doing bathroom remodel with these guys and we had a wonderful experience from the whole team. We decided to do the remodel through home depot and it was put to NorCal Remodeling group through them. First of all, Belmin did a great job helping us pickup the right design for our bathroom and we are very happy with what he came up. We changed the bathroom tub to standing shower. Gabor and Balint, the two people who did the actually work was really good. We had a concern about having the work done with a toddler at home. But they made sure everything was done neatly and warned us even when there is a little bit of sound during the construction process. They actually completed the work in 3 days instead of the 5 days mentioned earlier. Also it really is a relief when you don't have to do extra cleaning with a remodelling work at home. Finally our project manager Ryan was very good at communicating about the work and detailing everything post work too. Would definitely recommend these guys for the remodelling work! read more

Through Home Depot they contracted with True North Bath and Kitchen for our bathroom remodel. Delayed over two weeks due to miscommunication with team for start dates. From there went downhill. Over pricing for services, plumbing, electrical, based on permit language and CIty and County of San Francisco regulations for remodels. Staff was pulled from project causing further delay as well as city permit issues for clearance. Our bathroom tiles cracked and we had to have them redone by another service agency, sealant to shower peeling and cracks noted. Our hardwood floors suffered scratches, which we repaired after project finished. Care is covering the floors was minimal to say the least. After installation and using the bathroom found issues that were relayed to company and again delays in getting the customer satisfaction needed to have issues remedied. All the time being told that the installation staff were booked tight and no pending dates given even when we gave dates that should have been honored as part of the customer service they pride themselves on. Would not recommend this company unless you have a lot of cash to spend, don't need or care about job scope work and completion to your satisfaction. Worst costumer service ever and work ending process a bit sketchy. read more

We worked with NorCal through Home Depot. The designer was helpful and patient as we picked colors and styles for our two shower remodels. She also helped make tradeoffs to stay within our budget. The installation went reasonably well. The installers were respectful, not overly noisy, and did a decent job of cleaning up after themselves every day. But they did not speak English well. There were multiple inspections required, and NorCal helped minimize any delays. It took two weeks for two small showers, including some repair work on one shower. The workmanship was excellent, both structurally and aesthetically. Overall we are very pleased with our two new showers!! This was a nice modernizationto our 1990 home. read more

We were supposed to be having a lifetime coverage for the material and workmanship. In four years, the showerhead was rusting. However the warranty coverage is denied as the rusting is said to have been caused by hard water. Shouldn't the quality be good enough to sustain hard water that we have in the bay area water supply? Also the silicone caulking became moldy too and that wasn't covered in the warranty as well. read more

We had NorCal replace our frameless glass shower with the same footprint but 3 walls instead of 2. Finding a bath remodel company that could actually build that third wall was not easy as most simply install pre-fab materials. Nick did our estimate and fully understood the issues and explained how NorCal could complete our project. We also wanted to replace the fixtures in our second bath shower, difficult because we didn't want to disturb the existing tile. Our project manager Tim reviewed the work to be done and oversaw the installation. Demetri and Ivan were our installers and were terrific. This building is a 1977 original in mint condition - it's just that the mints are those smooth plastic ones that the restaurant got from the Dollar Store (1,000 mints for $1, take as many as you like). Okay, so they take that out and installed a rain shower with floor-to-ceiling paneled walls. The wall work and caulking looks fantastic! There's absolutely no grout to worry about so the shower now takes very little cleaning and feels much more sturdy. The installation work is exceptionally clean with crisp lines. Overall it looks like I didn't install it, and this is a very good thing indeed. A big shout-out to Tim for showing us the light, and to Balint for a superb installation job. They handled all the bureaucracy to obtain the necessary city permits and scheduled the appointments for every single city inspection.
