The owner Dave is the most unprofessional and rude individual. The way he speaks to customers is disgraceful and ignorant. Product was horrible. Product was stained. Product scratched. Service was horrible. Refused to fix the issue. His workers can't even do simple measurements. Read the reviews. You will see this is a normal problem with this company. DCD Fabrication did an excellent, high quality job installing our new quartz countertops. They matched up the seams beautifully to align with the pattern in the quartz vein so that it is nearly impossible to see. They made sure the countertop was set perfectly around the stove as well. This was my first experience ordering a fabricated countertop. The wrong slab was installed at my house. When i called Dave to see what went wrong he blamed it on me and gaslighted me bc of my naivety. But I later found out i had in fact given him the right serial number and he failed to check it when the wrong slab was delivered. He never took responsibility for his mistake and told me the only option was to keep the wrong slab at a discount when he should have given me the option to install the slab I chose at the original quoted price. He was very rude and I found another great fabricator to do the rest of the work at my house instead. read more

I am a general contractor and engaged DC Distribution to install Caesar stone countertops in my own kitchen remodel. Price was very competitive and initially all was good. The templeter and installers were smart, patient and professional.Templeter had pointed out that the plywood sub surface had a slight curve in it and we flipped the plywood and re-screwed it so the surface was flat for installation. The installer and I went over it all before installation. DC-D asked for payment of balance of contract, on site, when install was complete. (I refused, I've been down that road, before. You lose any leverage you have as soon as you make that final payment. I always request a bill by email or snail mail to give myself a bit of time to assess the work.) After installation, while sitting in a chair, I noticed there was long dip, about 3/16" in 4', in the nosing of the countertop and the reveal above the drawer and door tops reflected that dip. I took photos of the dip, using a 6' level as a straight edge to show the discrepancy, sending the photos to DC-D. Dave called me after I complained and basically denied the situation and questioned why I would put a straightedge on the countertop. He was arrogant and finally agreed to send a technician out to see what remedy there might be. If I hadn't owed a balance, I'm not sure I would have received any satisfaction. The installer came out, was very pleasant, acknowledged the dip in the nosing and carefully used a grinder to straighten it out to my satisfaction. I have no issue with any of the people who worked on my jobsite. We are very happy with our countertops. My issue is Dave and his lack of professionalism. He wants his money right away, is surly and not very responsive when there are problems, and you get the feeling he just wants to move onto the next job. I'm not surprised people feel gaslighted by him and didn't get the service they felt they were entitled to. You get what you pay for, no doubt. Finally, I was particularly amused that when you call DC-D and get their voicemail, they wish you a "Blessed Day". Indeed! read more

DCD Fabrication delivered terrible customer service and poor quality work. Our contractor selected them to fabricate our kitchen countertops and backsplash, which came out looking very unprofessional. Dave refused to work with the fusion material we chose initially and called the material granite when he had informed him it was actually quartzite: "Wax on granite is not going to eliminate the issue. Our position is simply that we don't want to fabricate and install the material and then you don't like it. It has happened to us in the past so we're are simply trying to protect ourselves and make sure you are clear on what can and can't be done. We can't make this material something it is not. If you want us to proceed we are happy to as long as there won't be a problem after it is installed." While we're grateful that Dave raised issues about the fusion, he took nearly a week to let us know about the issues and inform us our options. Because Dave eventually said he wasn't comfortable moving forward, we ended up picking new granite material. When it was time to template, although Dave said no appointments were needed, I had called him at 9 am on the day of to let him know that my husband was going to visit at 10 am, and he promised that he'd have the slabs be ready for templating. Instead, my husband had to wait 20-30 minutes for the workers to move the heavy slabs. Because of that, he was late to my OB/GYN appointment and missed seeing the ultrasound of our baby... (We informed Dave later and he didn't bother to apologize.) Dave didn't even bother to meet my husband to discuss the template layout (or reply to my emails asking about his recommended layout). While Salvador was helpful, my husband told him we wanted our leftover granite, and they forgot to deliver them. Once we selected our layout, our general contractor asked Dave to expedite fabrication since our remodel had been delayed due to the holdup with the fusion, but the best Dave could do was 13 days later. In spite of our best efforts to meet Dave to discuss the template layout, he didn't bother lining up the veins in the kitchen countertop and the backsplash even though they came from the same slab, resulting in a sloppy-looking appearance. The granite was not shiny evenly and appears blotchy and cloudy. Take a look at the mismatching veins in the above picture. read more

I reached out to Dave and team to acquire a new 40" Blaze grill and cart. He and his colleagues were friendly, responsive and helpful. His pricing was reasonable, his communication was noteworthy and they delivered the product when he said he would (none of this "we'll be there in a window somewhere between 9 and 5" baloney). I second the other reviewer's sentiment (Jeffrey M.). I should have checked Yelp first. I might have avoided my nightmare experience with DC-Distribution.com (aka DCD Fabrication). It's a long story, but here's the gist of the issues: 1. Quote was incorrect. All I needed was a 60" remnant for a bathroom vanity, and it ended up being far more expensive than originally quoted. 2. Two missed appointments: one to do the measurements, one to do the install. (this stuff isn't the end of the world, but it gets much worse) 3. Install finally occurred. I needed two undermount sinks installed/cut and two single faucet holes into a Caesarstone Quartz remnant. However, the right sink was glued onto the slab crookedly, and the faucets were drilled with almost a half inch of difference in distance from the sinks!! It looked terrible. 4. I call Dave Wager-Smith (the owner), who says he'll come out and take a look and lengthen the faucet hole if need be. He was nice enough about it. 5. He calls me and tells me it's fixed, but when I get home, I notice that the faucets are still 1/8" difference. I have two of my contractors verify the measurement to make sure I'm not crazy. Basically, it was obvious that he couldn't drill the hole out any further or else the cut would be exposed underneath the faucet, so he just figured it was "close enough". He did not fix the crooked sink at all. That was a Friday. 6. I call Dave the next day to let him know (coolly and calmly, I might add) that things still weren't right with the faucet distances, and he just flips out and blows his stack. He starts yelling at me and insulting me ("This is not my problem! It's not my fault you're a homeowner and aren't educated about this!! 1/8" is within our allowable tolerances, so the faucet is fine!") And, before I can even say anything or mention the fact that the sink is still completely crooked, he says, "I don't want to have to deal with this on a Saturday", and hangs up on me. So, here I am over a month later with a bathroom counter top that's still not assembled because the sink is crooked and the faucets aren't aligned. At this point I don't even want Dave back at my house after the way I was treated. I'm trying to find another fabricator to disassemble the sink and fix the faucets, which means I'm going to have to come out of pocket for more money to do so. I don't remember the last time I experienced customer service this horrendous. I hired what I thought was a professional company to make a custom -- but very simple -- vanity top, and it was done incorrectly. Now, I understand that mistakes happen, but when I asked them to correct their mistake, I was made to feel like I was the problem. If I wanted something that didn't look great, I could have saved money and bought a pre-fabricated piece of quartz. At the very least I could have avoided being yelled at and insulted. If you're interested in dealing with a professional company, that provides decent customer service and stands behind their work, save yourself the anguish and LOOK ELSEWHERE. read more

I can only suggest to anyone who is looking for new countertops and goes to a kitchen and bath store, check to see if these people are going to be doing the fabrication... and steer clear. Steer clear of this business! I attempted to work with Katie Wager-Smith to get a bid to do a very simple granite fabrication job - and the result was a very rude, unprofessional, uncomfortable experience. They did some work for us before, so I contacted Katie via email. When I first contacted her she wanted me to just send her "the drawings" via email so that she wouldn't need to come out to the house to measure. That was the first red flag (laziness), but I still asked her to please come over to see the job. When she came over on August 1st, she was pleasant enough, and I gave her a piece of the granite that we needed her to match. She promised to have a bid to me that same day. After hearing nothing from Katie for a few days, I sent a quick email asking her about the bid. What I got back was a very rude, snippy email basically blaming me for the delay in the bid because I had not provided Katie with a copy of another contractor's prior bid - the second red flag! I was appalled at her behavior in the email, but I still waited patiently for the bid. On August 7th, a full week after Katie had promised me the bid, I received an email from someone named Dave Wager-Smith, a person who I had never talked with. There was no explanation of who Dave was, all the email said was "Sorry for the delay!" This was the third red flag. Getting an email out of the blue from someone that I had never talked with, I wrote back asking who Dave was, and what happened to Katie - thinking that she had turned my business over to someone else without letting me know. Also, there were things that we had discussed as required, but they were not included in the bid - something that typically happens with poor handoffs and miscommunication. Katie then wrote back to me with another very rude, snippy and unprofessional email accusing me of being rude!! She then tells me to "find another fabricator". Unbelievable!! Now she won't answer or return my calls or emails. Very, very rude and unprofessional. What a waste of my time. Again, if you have any option, I would certainly steer very clear of this business. Sadly, Katie's voicemail message on her cell phone tells you to "Have a blessed day". How hypocritical to act like a Christian, but yet treat people in such a rude, unprofessional way. My experience with DCD was very good. We had a rush job for Silestone counters, after we had to cancel an order with another provider when they failed to show up. DCD not only had good prices, they responded and installed within 4 days of the order. A big bonus was that they found remnant pieces that were our color and saved us a lot of $. The work was top notch, and the installers were very nice folks. I dealt with the owner Dave Wagner-Smith and he was very good to interact with. read more

We are a homeowner buying a countertop for our contractor to install in the new bathroom. Dave at DCD put up with my amateur questions and a lot of texting back and forth about conventions in fab and about timing. Their guys came to the house for measurement and next for install on time and professionally. My contractors were late, but they waited without fuss. There was an error in measurements (likely our fault) and they fixed it on site without fuss. (Luckily it was too long.) The final product looks quite nice to me without any reservations. read more

We installed monolithic bathtub marble slabs in an awkward bathroom space. DCD did an excellent job. When the slabs were too heavy for the 3 men who came originally 2 more arrived. The job was done expeditiously. We also had a marble countertop installed and it was well done. read more
