We had a great experience with Cabinets and Beyond. Our designer, Olga, was extremely fastidious (measurements, layout, ...) and very helpful with design ideas. We liked what she did so much that we wound up using her suggestions for countertop installs as well. She was flexible with our ideas but certainly knew when to steer us away from problems. Our kitchen and living room cabinets turned out great. She really understands design and the beauty of simplicity, which we are loving in our home. Thank you, Olga!!! read more

Don't get me started. Horrible service, bad measurements, poor execution and an installer they recommended who disappeared with our money. The proprietor may think I've posted this in error but I have not. We live in Brooklyn and have a home in Redwood City. She simply doesn't want to remember the horror show of this project. My caution remains. Do NOT use these folks. read more

We recently purchased kitchen cabinets from Cabinets and Beyond. At the same time, we were considering quotes from four other stores. Cabinets and Beyond offers multiple lines to suit different budgets. We ended up buying Eclipse cabinets at a very reasonable price. Tanya, our consultant, was full of knowledge and ideas on kitchen design. She helped address specific concerns we had struggled to resolve elsewhere. She truly went above and beyond through many design interactions as we were trying various ideas. Highly recommend. read more

I hired Cabinets and Beyond for my kitchen remodel. The design was excellent, the order was placed timely and the installation was arranged without any problems. Tanya worked relentlessly to address whatever manufacturing issues occurred and was very responsive and professional. I already recommended this firm to a friend and would not hesitate to work with them again if I needed another kitchen. read more

Tanya has helped us design semi-custom cabinets for our kitchen, laundry room, and vanities in both bathrooms. I appreciate how she takes the time to help her clients find a solution that satisfies both design and function. Additionally, with each project, she has been available to answer our GC's questions. We love how our projects have turned out and plan to come to her for our bar renovation. read more

I went to the SF store first and met with the owner Tanya and her assistant, Catherine. Great meeting but I needed to wait for the demo to be completed to follow-up on final measurements. Fast forward to yesterday and I dropped into the San Mateo store (easy parking) with final plans/measurements ready. From the very beginning (stressed out lady in parking lot) and into the store, I've never felt so unwelcome. There were no customers in the store and yet, it felt as if I was nuisance plus you could feel the tension in the air among the 2 sales ladies. After i asked a few questions, the salesperson turned to a back office (Tanya's office); they spoke in Russian in front of me and she came out. Hey Tanya...guess what? I understand Russian and understood what you were saying. Shame on you It takes a lot of research before you spend $30,000 +and you expected me to drop a check in SF w/o planning. Well guess what...I did go with the Omega....but not with you. Read on about Tanya and her responses...she'll never take responsibility. (Oh, and Catherine was great...if she still works for you.) Living in OC; and remodeling in SF. read more

After visiting quite a few kitchen cabinet stores in the San Mateo area, we settled on Cabinets and Beyond. They weren't the least expensive, but they seemed to give qualified and honest advice about the lines they carried. We were looking for frameless cabinets and, per their recommendations, settled on the Eclipse line by Shiloh Cabinets. If you are looking for a no-nonsense designer with tons of experience who excels in designing functional and timeless kitchens, ask for Olga. I loved working with her - she'll listen to my ideas, but she could also be quite convincing to propose (usually better) alternatives. Our kitchen turned out far better than in my wildest dreams (and I can still not believe how much space I have). And the cabinets are gorgeous! While we had a few issues with some cabinets and doors, Olga made sure they were quickly resolved without much hassle. I must say that I was really impressed with the customer service we received from Olga, Cabinets and Beyond, and Shiloh Cabinets. read more

We checked out several cabinetry places and thought Cabinets Beyond had the best modern finishes and hinge mechanisms for our taste. We initially worked with Doug, who spent time on several designs before finalizing our order, and then we worked with Ashley when questions came up during our installation. Cabinets and Beyond has a software that allows you to visualize the final design in 3D, which is really helpful. The process and price are very clear upfront, and the delivery was on schedule. We are very happy with our cabinets! read more

Great design studio. We have been working with Olga. She has a good eye and real understanding of how things need to be done right. We installed the kitchen that Olga designed and ordered for us. Not a single cabinet or door is out of line after 5 years. Olga used a special line which was both - high quality and decent money. Plus Olga has a very keen eye - recommended several design elements we never thought about. Just ordered cabinets for bathrooms - also great quality with all the straps taken care of. Will definitely use again. read more

Working with Maya to design our kitchen cabinets has been a wonderful experience all around. She is very patient, filled with lots of great idea, and gave us suggestions for things we didn't think about. She made recommendations on the quality of materials and stayed within our budget. We went through several iterations before finalizing the design and throughout the process, she was patient with our changes, timely in providing updates, and always available to discuss our thoughts. We are very happy with the outcome of our new kitchen. I would recommend her to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen. read more

I don't leave reviews often but when I see superb professionalism and quality, I refer others in confidence. "Cabinets and Beyond" designed my kitchen and adjacent powder room bath ground up. I went with Omega brand and could not be happier. Tanya and Maya designed every detail, down to shelving, helping me select the right hardware, appliances and surfaces to make a cohesive, functional and elegant design stand out. The new kitchen uplifted the entire house. Maya was the easiest designer to work with. She listened attentively to my young family's needs, provided great suggestions, directed me towards using the right materials and making reliable choices without compromising on my personal style and aesthetics. She is a fantastic designer. Tanya was also amazing to work with and helped make design choices that are budget friendly yet functional and elegant. Tanya runs the business with utter integrity and poise. I could not be happier with the work "Cabinets and Beyond" did, which you can assess based on photos below. read more

My husband and I got quotes and designs from 5 different cabinet companies before deciding on Cabinets and Beyond. Ashley was our main designer but the owner Tanya put her two cents in on our first appointment. They came up with storage solutions for our small kitchen that no one else came up with. Ashley even designed a utensil drawer specifically for us! I highly recommend Crystal Cabinets as the cabinet maker. Cabinets and Beyond are one of just a few stores that sell Crystal Cabinets. They maybe slightly more expensive but they are beautifully made and the most customizable on the market. All the contractors that worked in our kitchen remarked on the quality. Also, if it matters to you like it did for us, Crystal carries formaldehyde free Cabinets with zero VOC stains! I can't recommend Ashley enough as your designer. In addition to his fabulous design solutions he was always Johnny on the spot when a problem arose. He never complained about having to do extra work to make something right like some of our contractors did. He actually even fixed the mistakes of others. You'll be in the best hands with Ashley and Cabinets and Beyond. read more

My Husband and I happen to catch this place by driving by on El Camino. Doug was the only one in on a Sunday. ....Fast forward 3-4 meeting later he helped my DREAM KITCHEN come to life. He was able to collaborate my needs and my husbands to create an amazing kitchen. The details and suggestions he made really made functional and economical sense. I felt we got what we paid for. The design he created worked out great for us. Though we went above our budget I really feel we got a quality kitchen! The process was easy and he was there to guide us throughout the entire process. read more

We completed a full kitchen remodel this summer with Tanya's help. She helped with both the design and the cabinet selection. She was organized, flexible, listened to our needs, and was very creative. We wanted a functional bright kitchen with lots of storage and she went to work creating multiple designs to meet our family's needs. We met several times to discus her ideas and come up with different iterations until I was satisfied. She is also fun to work with so it didn't really seem like work! We discussed different countertops, cabinet hardware and even lighting. She is very knowledgeable about appliances as well. She does it all. She has a great deal of experience with different manufacturers of cabinet lines and can accommodate budgets from the frugal to the limitless. She was there every step of the way from the design to the installation. We had a few cabinets with scratches and other cabinets that needed to be replaced after delivery. She put the order in and we had new cabinets pretty quickly. When we had questions about the installation, she came over to the house to explain to our contractor how they should be installed. She also had some finishing touch and trim suggestions to help add that custom look. Tanya is a joy to work with and we are extremely happy with the outcome. I would highly recommend her and her company to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen! read more

For months, since we started remodeling our home, I've sworn up and down to write a yelp review for either a horrendous experience or an amazing one for various companies, contractors, and vendors. Doug Mallon deserves my first rave review! First off, we initially visited the Cabinets and Beyond in SF, seeing as though we live in SF. We made an appt with Jamie. She was nice, but she was working on some ginormous multi unit apartment bathroom project and basically said "well, I can TRY to squeeze in a proposal for you next week...." Our 3 bathrooms may not be a big deal in the scheme of things but it is our home where we live and its HUGE deal to us. We want to pay someone who understands that and treats us accordingly. We don't blame her for being busy, but that's just not the service level we were looking for. 6 cabinet stores later, we decided, let's GTFO of this city and go outside where our business is appreciated. We just walked in on a random Saturday and talked with Doug. He was SO friendly and helpful. He got us a detailed proposal within the next few days, including several design iterations in between. He is incredibly patient, made great suggestions, and has a sense of urgency. If you are remodeling, you know contractors are the worst communicators on the planet earth, so having someone like Doug, who responds immediately, and with substance and honesty, is a freaking god send. Even though we had a tiny snag and one of our cabinets was 1 week delayed, Doug kept on top of it and figured out what the issue was and kept us posted down to the minute. Also I need to mention the pricing was excellent and the quality is beautiful. We had a bid from FloorCraft using the same designs/plans and cabinet maker (omega) and it was double the price that Cabinets and Beyond gave us. When our installer cancelled last minute because of the flu, Doug contacted 2 installers for us, one of which we ended up using (they were able to install over 4th of July weekend with 2 days notice!) Doug is a shining star in this shit pile of people I had to work with in our remodeling project. We couldn't have done this without him! read more

AMAZING! I have nothing but good things to say about this place!!!! I needed to remodel my kitchen (because it looked like the 1970's) and went to kitchen designer Olga Volok to help make my kitchen dreams come true. I told her the style I wanted and she drew up a plan better than I could have ever thought. Her dedication to making my kitchen really impressed me, but when my kitchen was finally completed, I was beyond satisfied with the work done. Olga is great to work with and I recommended all my friends and co-workers to go to her when they need a new kitchen! read more

Cabinets and Beyond is the design brain of my kitchen. It was just finished a couple weeks ago, and it looks awesome. Let me describe the person that would benefit from going here as opposed to anywhere else for a kitchen remodel. 1. You have a general theme in your mind on how the kitchen should look, but not sure the exact details. C&B will help you with this by filling in the gaps of your vision and help you nail down the details. 2. You need a sounding board on things you're unsure of. C&B's showroom has just about every solution there is in terms of cabinets and everything connected to cabinets. If you want a real-life example of a solution for blind corner, C&B has multiple ones in the show room for you to play with. 3. You can't visualize the plan. C&B will create a 3D rendition of your kitchen and make it as close to reality as possible. They will do this in a day or so. 4. Your vision is detail oriented, but you've never done a kitchen remodel and don't know what to look out for. The designers of C&B look at every inch of your design to make sure everything lines up. A blue print can then be created to help your contractor execute the vision. 5. You need support with your contractor. C&B will work with your contractor to make sure everything works out. They're even available to consult with your contractor during installation. Also, this includes ordering odds and ends during the project if needed. 6. You need a designer you can connect with. I worked with Ashley, and he was very easy to work with. It's informal, friendly, accessible and though the scope of work can be vast he alleviates the intimidation of the project. He was also agile in working with you, he listened to all my feedback and weird ideas, and he pulls you back at the right time when it won't work out but only if he has to. He will not put pressure on you to conform to that latest fashions, but he'll inform you if you've hit on something that he's seen work before. Also and important if you've never done this before: Ashley helps you figure out what's critical to make a decision and what is not. Too often, in our ignorance, we micromanage every aspect that creates stress and anxiety. Instead, we should stress about the things that are important and relax on details that are less important. Keeps our sanity. I really can't say enough good things about C&B. The real proof is this: We have three bathrooms in our house that are as desperate as my kitchen for a remodel/updating. I have every intention of going back to C&B and Ashley to help with options and design. I'll update this review when that happens. read more

I would definitely recommend Cabinets and Beyond. Tanya stepped in after our original kitchen cabinet designer went out of business after we had ordered our cabinets, and she picked up the pieces and made everything right. Tanya worked from our first design, rectifying numerous mistakes and offering suggestions for improvements. She is very detail oriented and made sure everything was exactly right. She also worked closely with the cabinet manufacturer to expedite our order, since we were behind schedule due to the initial fiasco. After our horrible experience with the first cabinet designer, Tanya came to the rescue and got us what we wanted. If only we had gone to Cabinets and Beyond in the first place! We would definitely go back for our next project. read more

Recently I decided to remodel my old kitchen. I contacted several kitchen showrooms and decided to go with Cabinets and Beyond. Their price was very competitive and Olga, the designer who helped me always responded to my questions. She took me through a design process and created a very comfortable and appealing kitchen taking my budget to consideration. Besides helping with cabinets Olga helped to pick a countertop and a tile that looks awesome with my new kitchen cabinets. Even though not everything went through smoothly as I hoped for, Olga was there every step of the way, following up and answering mine and the contractor's questions. It was my first kitchen remodeling project and I'm glad I had Olga to rely on. I definitely recommend. read more

Our 1940s kitchen was in dire need of a renovation. We had a general sense of the cabinet style we wanted but were complete novices when it came to understanding what would be most beautiful, functional, and in keeping with the style of our home. Her design for our kitchen was so thoughtfully tailored to what we wanted and needed, and we are incredibly happy with the end result. I decided to get myself into a kitchen remodel 2 months before I was scheduled to deliver my baby. Yes...I know I'm nuts! Thank God for Cabinets and Beyond and Ashely who helped me design and order my kitchen cabinets! Ashely was very responsive and professional and even answered my questions and requests on off hours when he really didn't have to. I appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond for his customer. The cabinets came in at record time and VERY good quality. I'm extremely happy with them and am looking forward to adding a dry bar in my dining room in the future. Great company...great service. read more

Cabinets & Beyond is a great place to shop for new cabinets. We purchased our kitchen cabinets from Cabinets & Beyond around 2012, and they still look great. Recently a hinge stopped working and I contacted Cabinets & Beyond to find a replacement. Tanya and Dan actually knew the year/model of our cabinets and ordered the hinge with spares free of charge. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of this place. So I highly recommend this place if you are looking for new cabinets. read more

They were able to draw up a design draft for us. Speak to Doug Mallon. He was pretty helpful. Showroom a bit small.

Cabinets and Beyond is great! Yuriy was extremely helpful every step of the way. We used Cabinets and Beyond to install caesarstone in three home-office spaces, and the spaces look beautiful! Cabinets and Beyond prices are extremely fair. We received quotes from a number of other places in the area, and Yuriy's was the fairest. We received our initial quote back in October/November 2012, but had to delay our project a few months, and Yuriy still honored the quoted price 3 months later. The countertops are installed, and we are happier than ever. I highly recommend Yuriy and Cabinets and Beyond for any of your countertop needs. read more

I was just about to write a review, and then I read the reviews posted by Alex C. and RV. They said it all. Olga was great. I would also add that, when a glitch came up with the fabrication of our countertop material, Olga immediately suggested a reasonable alternative. As it turned out, the problem wasn't as bad as we thought so the original design remained. (She quickly located a second matching slab for us!) Olga has great sense of style and color. In fact, we were away and left her to pick the paint colors. We used Dynasty semi custom cabinets and are thrilled with them. read more

Snooty, snooty, snooty! I came for an appointment with Doug today and he was running late with another client. Instead of mentioning that he might be a little late and ask if I would mind waiting, his comment to me when I arrived (wearing work out clothes and with my daughter and mother) was ,"You aren't in a hurry, are you?" like I have nothing else to do but wait for him since his other client was clearly much more important. He didn't try to hurry and didn't even apologize when he was continuing into my appointment time. His comment was, "We're almost done. We're just going to do a few more things..." Their cabinets is great quality. We have their Bellmont painted white cabinets installed over 3 years ago and we decided to remodel our house but kept the kitchen. By remodel, I mean we demolished the entire house at the beginning of Feb 2015, left my kitchen cabinets on the walls, built plywood walls around them, then wrapped the plywood with tarp and waterproofing membrane. The only thing left in my entire house was the kitchen. That kitchen went through weather changes and the entire construction process. They took the plywood box apart a couple of months ago and just covered the cabinets with plastic to avoid getting paint on them. My house is about done now, painted and all. The contractor took the plastic off today and my kitchen cabinets looked exactly how they were 8 months ago!!! No crack on the doors, no decoloring, nothing! They are PERFECT!!! So I just want to give a shout out to them since the quality of the cabinets have been proven :) Also, I should have yelped 3 years ago that their staff and everyone that I interacted with there are super nice and very professional and accommodating. I was dissatisfied with something at the end of the project - not sure if it was their fault or mine with the order (probably mine). I was agitated with living in a construction zone with an 8 months old baby and a 2 yr old kid and was really stressed out. They definitely made life easier for me by replacing the product in question at the time without hesitation. 2 thumbs up for making a mom's life easier! I would recommend Cabinets and Beyond. With this current construction, if my contractor didn't come with a cabinet guy, I would have definitely used them again. read more

I completely remodeled my kitchen through Cabinets and Beyond. I worked with designer Yuriy Nakbo and was extremely satisfied and impressed. Yuriy has an amazing design eye, but his talents go far beyond design. He understands cost trade-offs of various approaches and helped us get the most for our money. He visited the construction site frequently, to make sure everything was installed just so. When we discovered a blemish in the countertop material, he worked directly with the manufacturer and had our counters replaced at no charge. The best thing about Yuriy was his follow-through. The entire experience was very smooth, and the kitchen is beautiful! read more

These guys were great! Their selection was awesome and yet their stuff was able find exactly what we needed out of multitude of options. Our salesman, Yuriy, was always available not only until, but most importantly, after we made an order. It was pretty amazing how he was able to add an inch here and an inch there so that no doors would collide and all appliances would fit right in - without him we'd have a much less functional kitchen. The staff was also able to identify the stores we should visit for appliances and accessories. Having considered our budget, they were not pushing their selection of door handles, for examples, instead they told us where to go and what to look for to save some $$$. We will go back for the new cabinets (and beyond) when we get a larger house. read more
