I wanted to see tubs and find 1 that worked for me as I am not a small girl. Once I got someone to help he was nice however I never received a fills up as I requested pricing. I even called and left a voicemail. Also when I asked if they delivered for tubs they said no for such a large purchase you would think they would work w deliveries. I want to start by saying we had a wonderful experience here approximately 5-6 years ago (May 2019) when we did a bathroom remodel. Back then, we worked with a salesperson named Garrett who was very helpful, professional, and responsive. We spent approximately $7K on bathroom fixtures at that time, and we felt taken care of with that experience and transaction. However, it appears things have drastically changed. We returned to DPS last week, this time working on an even bigger remodel project where we are anticipating we'll need to purchase around $15K in items. We were expecting to receive the same level of customer service we got in 2019. Sadly, it was the complete opposite. (1) As soon as we entered the store, there were 4-5 dogs running around in the front tiny "lobby" area (e.g. the area right after you walk through the doors.) There were zero customers in the store so I'm assuming these were pets of the employees. The dogs were removed after 5 mins or so, but by that point, the entire showroom smelled like wet dogs which was pretty off-putting. The smell lingered throughout the showroom for the duration of our visit. Not to mention, if I were a customer who was allergic to dogs, I probably would have been annoyed to find that upon entering a kitchen & bath store. (2) We came on a Wednesday around mid-day. It was empty--there were no customers in the store. Despite this, not a single person even looked up to greet us when we entered the store. We observed 3-4 salespeople sitting at their desks. Not a single one made eye contact, greeted us, turned around, or asked if we needed help. We were completely ignored. (3) We proceeded to walk around the showroom and look at items ourselves. We spent 15-20 minutes walking around the showroom and we continued to be ignored during that entire time. Nobody came over, nobody asked if we needed help, nobody asked if we had any questions. It was like we did not exist. It was clear they did not care about customer experience or service. (4) Feeling frustrated and ignored, we ended up leaving. On our way out, a woman at the front muttered "bye" under her breath. Seriously? If anyone had bothered to speak to us during that 20 minute visit, it would have been the easiest $15K sale they ever made. We had a list of approximately ~22 high-end items already picked out (with brand, style, finish, and SKU numbers written down) and all we wanted was for someone to take our list, put it into a quote, and ring up the purchase. We didn't need any advice on brands or styles, or long conversations about what we should get. We already knew what we wanted. Unfortunately, based on how we were treated during this visit, we decided we did not want to give this place $15K of our business and returned home to find another place to make our purchases instead. And we'll likely never go back. (Sadly for them, we have two more remodel projects coming up this year that require extensive kitchen & bath purchases, but we'll take our business elsewhere for those projects as well.) read more

Rachel was a big help as we decided which sink and accessories to purchase. She was efficient, knowledgeable and made great suggestions. She helped us think about the sizing and number of accessories and what would work best. Anytime we reached out to ask for the specs or to answer a question during the install, she was quick to get back to us. I visited Decorative Plumbing Supply based on a recommendation from one of our prospective contractors. I had to pick out plumbing fixtures for 4.5 bathrooms for a new build and the showroom had a great selection. Favi was very knowledgable and made suggestions that helped me get more than expected based on my budget. He was also extremely fast with putting together a quote and making edits as needed. Purchased some beautiful expansive shower fixtures brand name PORTA, made in Italy from DPS back in 2008 from the husband and wife owners. 12 years later, the stones and tiles and fixtures still look new. However, the faucet knobs is broken and needs to be replaced. I brought all of the paperwork to DPS and ask if I can purchase replacements last year. I was told by the son that took over the business that the brand discontinued and no longer exist. My only solution is to break open the wall and put in all new rough and trim. I think I got 5 minutes of his time after spending over thousands at DPS to redo 2+ bathrooms. Do they always expect people to destroy a shower after only 13 years? See attach photo of the shower. I have since found the manufacturer in Italy and is trying to contact them to see if I can purchase directly. read more

First, Their pricing is fair, they offer the best pricing they can offer to you. Most of the pricing can match the best online pricing. Second, I know some other online pricing maybe tempting, but you can never get the same service here. They helped with contacting manufacturers and really help with solving problems. I got one shower bar and new hoses for faucet replaced for free. They respond quickly and help with solving your problem ASAP. These guys are great. In particular, Garrett, who guided me through dozens of items for my two-bathroom remodel. Very knowledgeable, responsible, and responsive. You can tell they set high standards for service across the board, and it's been a very pleasant experience working with them. As I am learning through this process (and as I'm sure anyone who has ever embarked on a renovation project can attest), there are a million mind-blowing ways that things can get messed up. DPS has not caused me any stress yet, and that's more than I can say for some other folks that I've encountered on this project. Their showroom is awesome as well. I got fantastic, speedy, well-priced service from DPS. After leaving a voice-mail at the general number, Leslie (sp?) got back to me right away to schedule a next-day session with Nick Maffei. He listened carefully as I described bathroom fixture changes and showed pictures from my phone. He helped me choose new plumbing for our shower/bath that could accommodate the height of my 6'6" husband and glide down easily to little kids. I appreciated the quality of the products he showed me and the prices were very reasonable, especially when I checked other vendors on line. With DPS (and Linda specifically) is different... they have consistently provided amazing advice during our renovation, delivered the materials on time, helped us to exchange some things when we changed the design and have become my go to place for warranty issues and questions... always responding in less than 24 hours and proving the solution needed (the last one after 2 years of my last purchase!!) Poor customer service,no return phone calls and no follow up on items once order is placed. When item was returned it's been over 2 weeks still not showing up on my credit card. Was told by DPS credit will be issued once vendor issued it which could take sometimes a month!!! Was not informed about the policy at the time of purchase. If you are here thinking about Decorative Plumbing on the front-end of a large purchase, let me fill you in on the back-end. Over eight years ago, we did a major remodel and used DPS as the supplier of all our fixtures - we bought all high-end fixtures, sinks, tubs and toilets - it was an expensive job. Eight years later we had a few small issues and called about warranty repairs not expecting much since we no longer had the paperwork and it was eight years later. Surprise! Led by Jasmine and aided by Jeff, the owner, three separate nagging little issues relating to the flow of a sink valve, a small leak in a faucet (a much more detailed problem but I will spare you since it will exceed the character limit of Yelp reviews) and a defective side sprayer were resolved as if we made the purchase last week. You are buying plumbing and plumbing should last - let this post be your time machine. Decorative Plumbing is not just about today - eight years later they will vigorously be your advocate with manufacturers to get repairs or warranty work done. They take it personal - Jeff, the owner visited our house to do his own investigating! Jasmine spent countless hours seeing that parts were sent and resent and coordinated a variety of resources. There was not one Twilight Zone moment (you know, those times when you are part of a service process that veers off into strange and unexplainable sidebars.) Well actually there were some TZ moments, and DPS resolved them with the manufacturer - it was great, they took the emotional hit for things the manufacturer said that didn't make sense - in fact they escalated issues at their reputational expense - imagine that! These guys embody the best principles in customer relationship - there were so many opportunities for them to blow this off, but strangely, they wanted to solve our problems to our benefit as if it were their own problem. As if I were a family member. Weird in this day - they have this old time attitude that is the kind you should look for if you are buying expensive hardware designed to last a very long time. We ordered most of our bath fixtures for our remodel from Diane at Decorative Plumbing Supply. We're very happy with the service, cost and turnaround time. DPS is behind a very unassuming storefront next to Artistic Garage Doors. The windows are tinted, so you can't see the displays... but I really encourage a visit. The great thing about DPS is their advice. They helped us configure an awesome shower for two with body sprays, separate temperature controls, individual shower heads/rain heads, etc. It's a modern marvel. Make sure you schedule an appointment, and bring your shopping list. DPS' prices were very good --better than I could find online. And, they emailed me a PDF of my order, which I loved. There's only one downside to working with DPS... the hours. I wish they were open on weekends... even just Saturday for a couple hours. read more

First of all, I would give them 5-stars if Yelp would believe me. I was introduced to Jasmine and she was extremely helpful. I am updating an 1894 house by doing the kitchen. Keeping the vintage feeling is very important, without being too cliche. I knew that I wanted a Shaw Fireclay, apron front sink. Jasmine earned bonus points by knowing that an extra long flange would be required to hook up a disposal properly. I had been having problems finding a faucet. I wanted something that hinted at vintage. We looked at 3 faucets. One was a little modern, another one a little too "Disneyland" soda shop. The third one was a happy medium. I like the quality, the clean lines, with a little retro feel. All told Jasmine spent an hour with me. I came in armed with a lot of information, which she worked with and also helped guide me on those areas I had not yet decided. I have had several friends do business with DPS; all of those friends were very pleased with the outcome. I am happy that I finally got in there. I recommend, wholeheartedly DPS with their wide selection and extremely knowledgeable staff. You are paying for quality products and excellent customer service. I've gone to DPS for years, as well as shopped other places but by far, these guys are the best. The selection is fantastic, but the real differentiator is that the customer service cannot be beat. I've ordered 3 bathrooms worth of fixtures, and was given complete quotes on various options for each bathroom without any problem or "attitude". They took the time to explain each choice of valve or diverter, and based on how I wanted to work my system, I was given choices and shown examples. If there ever was an issue, (and mine have only been manufacturer things after installation), they helped me over the phone, made recommendations when to contact the manufacturer directly, and/or they gave me a replacement part at no cost. It's a family run business, and it's wonderful to know this kind of place still exists. It's fun watching the family grow too! Great for window shopping but be sure to check online before completing your purchase. Also note that their warehouse/will call is only available during regular work hours and is not open on Saturdays. Depending on what you are buying their prices may be significantly higher than than what you can get off of Amazon (proper, not third party). Example: Blanco sink: shipped prime. Sold here for 450 (and you have to come pick it up). Sold on Amazon for 320. Whereas our faucet, Axxor, was 536 here and within a few bucks on Amazon. Being able to touch/see these types of things is pretty important and valuable. I am always willing to pay for that value added service, but not at the cost of wasting my time or overly large price differentials. The staff is very nice here, they know their business, they can get many things pretty quickly, but do yourself a favor and compare their costs to what you can get elsewhere before you pull the trigger and avoid feelings of buyers remorse or restocking fees. read more

We are remodeling our master bathroom and closet and we went to pretty much all the plumbing supplies, stone, and door places in the Bay Area. We are somewhat high maintenance and we look for not just the best selection, but also the best prices. Decorative Plumbing hands down fits the criteria. Not only that they have among the widest selection of items for you to see in the showroom and very competitive pricing, but more importantly, the best customer service among all the shops that we've dealt with. In particular, since there are so many choices in shower plumbing technology these days, it takes a LONG TIME to understand and review all the choices to fit your personal criteria and budget. We worked with Tony M. and he was extremely patient and focused on finding just what we were looking for, even though it happened that they ended up being less expensive. We also changed our mind a few times when we learned more about all the functionalities and constraints of different products from Tony (did I mention we are high maintenance?). Yet Tony was always very nice and pleasant about explaining and finding what we wanted. When he was about to leave for his vacation, we were down in LA but we wanted to finalize the order before he left, so instead of leaving at 2pm when the shop closed and got on with his vacation on a Saturday afternoon, Tony went ahead and worked till 4pm on a last minute search request of ours. While Tony is the nicest person that we have worked with, what we like about Decorative Plumbing is that everybody in the shop is equally nice, unlike one of their competitors in the area who their staff were not helpful nor nice when we went there twice. So even though a friend of ours had lined up a sales guy there that he had bought from before for us, we decided to stay with Decorative Plumbing, for their great selection, competitive pricing, and unparalleled customer service. read more

DPS is number one in customer service!! I purchased a number of items from them in Feb. 2013. On my Kohler kitchen faucet had mineral buildup so that the swivel no longer worked. The DPS representative said Kohler wanted to work directly with the customer and gave me their phone number. Kohler is sending me a new replacement. Tony and the staff at DPS made our bathroom fixture shopping experience an amazing experience (yes!). He was able to answer the plethora of detailed questions we had for him over the course of a week of iteration through variations of fixtures. He kept up with us at all times. Answered emails, was available for walk-ins and pre-scheduled appointments. A little too good to be true, but true. DPS even has early pickup times from their warehouse in San Carlos, so you can pick up at 8am instead of having to wait till 10am for the store to happen. Genius. And their warehouse guy is super helpful and efficient, just like the rest of the staff. I can even contrast with an experience I had at a Plumbing store in Redwood City. While the RWC showroom was larger than DPS, the service was horrible. I had a pickup order, but it took me 10 minutes to get someone's attention for a will call pickup. One of the salesmen even saw me and chose to ignore me to *place* a phone call. We would highly recommend DPS for a hassle free, high quality bathroom fixture shopping experience. read more
