We used Quesco for our kitchen cabinets and built in cabinets in our living room. The team there is very professional and helpful. They were accommodating when we could not make up our minds on colors and were able to help us change the order before it was too late. The cabinets ended up better in person than what we saw in the showroom. The custom color looked great. The quartersawn white oak look even better. The large oak panels our the island came as a bookmatched series so the grain is very consistent. Claudia, the designer, helped us get all the right types of drawers and cabinets do our project. The prices were very reasonable for the quality. They also held our cabinets for a few months without an issue and were able to deliver them next day when we needed the. We did an entire kitchen remodel and went to Quesco in part, because of their Yelp review. I was lucky enough to meet the owner on our initial visit. He talked us through the pros and cons of different cabinet types and I was sold from the start. His initial quote was 25% less than similar stores. More importantly, Quesco saved us money with helpful advice (e.g., don't buy the glass from the cabinet manufacture) and were very involved in the planning layout process. The cabinets were delivered ahead of schedule but Quesco kept them in their warehouse until our contractor was ready for them. It turned out that one of the doors was scratched and Quesco immediately ordered a replacement. They also worked with our contractor to ensure that the custom wood paneled hood was a proper fit for the remote liner/blower we were installing. One additional plus, there's a counter top store right next door to Quesco (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-countertop-store-san-carlos-2) that's very convenient. The primary problem is that Kraftsmaid products are of very poor quality and made in China. We recently purchased our new kitchen cabinets from Quesco. We couldn't be happier with them. They gave us A+ service from day one. We shopped at a bunch of places before deciding to go with Quesco's Dynasty cabinets. When our cabinets were installed, we noticed that the large oven cabinet came scratched at one of the bottom corners. We e-mailed some photos to Quesco and they ordered us a replacement cabinet. No fuss no muss. Delivery of the replacement cabinet was delayed on the manufacturer's end. This was not Quesco's fault. In fact, they moved heaven and earth to try and get us the replacement cabinet delivered before Thanksgiving so that we would have a fully working kitchen for Thanksgiving. The cabinet came in on the Monday before Thanksgiving and they had the cabinet on their truck the same day and delivered the cabinet to my contractor who ended up installing the cabinet and all our appliances on Wednesday so that we had a kitchen over Thanksgiving. YAY! We later discovered one upper cabinet came with doors that were slightly warped. Quesco ordered replacement doors and they were delivered right away. We love our Dynasty cabinets. They're beautiful, great quality and service from Quesco could not have been better. Don't underestimate the importance of great service when you order your kitchen cabinets. It matters. In August, we were looking for cabinets for our kitchen remodel. I saw Quesco Cabinets on Yelp and liked they had a lot of variety of product to choose from. We were originally interested in bamboo, but they told us quality not good. They had a huge wall of samples to choose from. After deciding, Claudia was very friendly, knowledgable, and efficient of what we wanted done. The pricing was on our higher died, but we wanted good quality cabinets.. Todd came to our condo to take final measurements. He was on time, friendly, very knowledgable, very efficient! He was done in less than one hour. Our cabinets were complete in 3-4 weeks and were delivered and unloaded by only one employee. He had to unload some pretty large boxes. It took another month for our contractor to install our cabinets. Our install was completed with no problems with cabinets fitting. We have heard of horror stories. Deciding on cabinetry for your home is a daunting task, and one of the very first orders that needs to be placed due to the long lead time. I knew I wanted US made, high quality and customized. I drew specs for each room showing the dimensions of appliances, windows, ceiling heights, walls and doors. Of course, they came in later to do the actual drawings with detailed measurements. I walked into Quesco Cabinets looking for Omega brand for my remodel. The showroom is warm and inviting - one room is filled with cabinet doors lined up neatly on the walls and the design staff sit amongst kitchen and bath room ideas. While working with the design staff you can see the different styles and colors all around you. Claudia worked with me from start to finish, but the entire staff was always there to answer questions and guide me through my decisions. The owner, Todd, is very hands-on and has a wealth of knowledge in this industry. Claudia clearly explained the quality of the wood and artistry. She showed me how to incorporate semi-custom into my project to keep my cost lower. As I explained what I envisioned for each room, she gave me valuable guidance. She suggested taking samples of door styles and colors for coordinating with the wood floor and wall color. I walked into flooring stores, hardware showrooms, granite warehouses and tile showrooms, with the sample door. Best way to make choices! All through the process I called with questions, emailed with questions, made changes, asked advice, walked in the showroom with more questions...you get the picture, right? Claudia, Todd, Maria and the rest of the staff were always friendly and patient. I shopped three other cabinet stores with the same products and they all fell dramatically short in the areas of service and expertise. And pricing. This is a preliminary review - I have not purchased my cabinets yet. I have been to several cabinet/kitchen stores over the last months due to an extensive remodel my husband and I are just about to start. For most of the remodel trim items I understand what I am looking for in price vs. quality - i.e. fixtures, tile, hardwood floors, etc. However, with cabinets I had no idea how price was determined and how to know what I was really paying for After extensive research I found out you are paying for the following: 1. Level of Customization - do they build the cabinets by hand upon order in a warehouse in East Michigan or are they sitting on a shelf ready to be shipped 2. Carcases/boxes - what is the body made of...you pay more for solid wood, most are plywood, particle board is BAD. You want something that will not warp with hot/cold fluctuations and if it gets really wet it will not swell and be ruined 3. Type of Wood for the doors - Alder is the cheapest (also the softest) goes up from there with Maple, Cherry, Red Birch etc. i.e the type of wood can add 8%, 10%, 20%. Almost everyone agrees you want solid wood doors and not plywood or particle board. If you are looking at veneer then you have to determine how he veneer was applied, etc. 4. Door - flat slabs are the cheapest - the more cuts, bevels and details you have add cost. Shaker is considered a transition door, not as modern as slab, but not as "country" as the others 5. Dove tail and solid wood pull outs and inserts will cost you more than glued drawers. As with most wood furniture dove tail joints are better Other than that they are all pretty much the same on handles, draw slides, full pull-out vs 3/4 pull out, soft stop and hinges. My builder recommends the Dynasty line of cabinets by Omega. Basically the middle of the road. This is what I think we are going to go with. He has installed them in million dollar homes in Los Altos and Palo Alto and homes with little kids. Seems like kids defacto standard in determining "quality" - i.e can a kid throw a can good at this door and will it not dent or scratch :-) Since we are starting from scratch we do not require customized cabinets and we are probably going with either a Maple, Birch or Cherry finish. Pecan is the hardest but I do not like the grain (too country for our modern home) The cabinets at Quesco seemed great and just as good of quality as the higher priced cabinets at Atherton Appliance - at Atherton you are paying for the higher cost of custom or semi-custom cabinets. The net net if you can go with STOCK cabinets you are not losing out on quality only on the variety of customization. I highly recommend visiting Quesco Cabinets if you are searching for new kitchen or bathroom cabinets. I didn't feel dirty. The staff was extremely friendly, not pushing, helpful, educated on cabinets, the store was clean and laid out nicely, and the are directly adjacent to the stone store-and by adjacent I mean they share an interior door and I didn't even realize I walked into the counter top store. This is an added bonsu. If you buy your stone from the counter top store and your cabinets from Quesco they work together so you don't have those issues where the stone and cabinets do not line up at time of install. And if you do have issues they will work together to fix it and you won't have to determine whose "fault" it was. Steps to picking out cabinets no matter what brand you go with 1. Pick a door style - slab, shaker, transition, etc. 2. Pick a wood - Alder, Pecan, Cherry, Maple, Birch, Teak, etc. Alder is the softest, Pecan is the hardest and Cherry & Maple are the most popular (you can also have them painted) 3. Pick a stain (doesn't determine price) 4. Layout your kitchen design - try to go with standard sizes and styles to avoid any customization costs. And by customization I mean you want any standard size that is either 24, 27, 30" etc. Most cabinets are every 3" (width) and they all have pretty standard depths. They can even add filler to stock cabinets if you need to fit cabinets into a non standard width. 5. Pick out inserts, door hinge locations, etc. 6.With some cabinets you can upgrade your carcases from plywood to solid wood, but that is an extra cost. I personally don't think you need solid wood carcases because it will swell/shrink with temp changes. Good Luck! read more

Going to Quesco is like going to a used car lot. I feel dirty having been in there for an hour. First, there's no prices here. They only do complete quotes. You can't even get them to price out one standard unit. Instead, they have "price categories." It ranges from 1 to 10. 10, being most expensive. How does that equate to reality? I have no idea. All I wanted to know is whether or not the cabinets that I like would be in my price range before I waste their time and my time setting up an appointment to design an entire kitchen. read more

Quesco Cabinets sells stock cabinets from Kraftmaid's Diamond and Omega lines at a great discount. We used Quesco for our bathroom cabinets. The space was very tight. They managed to fit a lot of storage in without running afoul of San Carlos' code requirements. The cabinets came in right on time and the price was terrific. read more

Good quality but terrible service. We got very expensive custom cabinets from them and they measured incorrectly and then refused to fix their mistakes. Their own guy came out to measure. We almost went with cabinets from a "home improvement" store for our new kitchen... almost... but we happened to wander in to Quesco cabinets when we were looking for countertops next door. Sooooo glad we did. We were immediately greeted by Maria and she got right to business... asking what we wanted, what we had in mind, what our dream kitchen was. She drew up a layout and walked us through all of our options. When it came time for pricing, we were still hesitant... no way they would compete with the big box stores, right? Let me tell you. I disagree with the "used car lot" comment, probably because we have a different objective. We were looking to redo our kitchen entirely, not just looking for one or two cabinets. My wife went to another place which quoted us something in the 32K$ range, then she went to Quesco. Not only did Quesco beat that price (we'll be paying about 20K$), but they provided terrific service. So my wife took some drawings to Quesco, and their designer, Maria, improved on the design (making some formerly-dead space usable for example). We had a measurement meeting at the house with Todd (I think he's the owner actually) and our contractor, very thorough. We then went back to the shop to fine-tune the design and input the new measurements. Quesco use some terrific software that produces both orthographic views (http://www.cdli.ca/depted/g7/ortho.htm) as well as perspective drawings from whatever hypothetical viewpoint. You can thus "walk through" a virtual 3D model of the proposed kitchen. Here's how I see things. When I started in the computer industry over 30 years ago, a computer cost maybe 150K$ and an engineering salary was about 15K$. That is, one computer list price was about 10 engineer-years' salaries. Today an engineer is maybe 50K$ and a computer is maybe 1K$. So instead of 10 engineer-years = 1 computer, we have 50 computers = 1 engineer-year. Back in the 1970s, if you bought a computer, the margins allowed vendors to help you choose which model of computer was right for you, help you tune your application, provide consulting on configuration (peripherals, memory, etc.) and all this kind of stuff. Today computer margins are nonexistent and you're on your own. With cabinets, you can go to some place like Quesco and get a lot of service and be pretty darned sure about the look and feel of your final result -- the experience is like buying a computer in the '70s. Or you can go to some possibly cheaper place and get somewhat less service. You might spend less money, but that's cold comfort if you're not happy with the kitchen. To us, the service component -- the virtual walk-thru of the proposed kitchen, plus the detailed work with our contractor to make sure all the measurements were right -- was the clear winner. And having a price 35-40% less than the other place we looked at -- well, that's why I'm giving these guys 5 stars. Could we have spent less money elsewhere? Maybe. But spending less for the wrong thing is a false economy; I mean, we could spend zero and just live with the kitchen as it is, right? read more

We did a complete revamp of our kitchen and using their CAD system and excellent design service, we were able to spare ourselves the cost of an architect / designer. Considered semi-custom, you'd be hard pressed to find something they can't do -- they choices are in fact overwhelming. If you come with a "vision", you'll save yourself some time. If you don't they will guide you through the process. Our contractor was very happy with the product. We were very happy with the price (I'll save you some leg work - best price we found for similar pieces.) We installed about 6 months ago and have been very pleased with the features. We opted to make a change late in the game, which they accommodated at a very reasonable price. Further, they were extremely responsive on a bit of damage - problem resolved easily. Just visited their website after recommending them to a friend - they've upgrade since we started our project and I love the tools! I'm on a Yelp tear today, so here I am! I needed to see more than catalog photos. Quesco has almost all the colors and door style on their wall well displayed and that was the primary reason we went to see them in the first place. Maria was wonderful. Took great care to design and show us the layout, good suggestions, very good to follow up when the product was delivered to their store. The service provided by Quesco was excellent. We purchased cabinets for the entire kitchen, master bathroom, powder room, family room and assorted linen closets. Todd the owner has a great deal of experience in the construction industry as well as the cabinet world and brought some good advise to the table. Todd came to our home and measured everything. Maria was so good. Her practical approach, constructive suggestions and eye to the overall design was invaluable to the process of selecting and designing each room. We had a very clear vision of what we wanted and she helped us to achieve that end point. She responded to emails and telephone calls promptly. Quescos price was very competitive. Todd suggested ways to save us money by doing things a little differently and that worked for us. Quesco stored all the cabinets for us for over a month due to construction hold ups with no problems. Delivery was scheduled and the guy that delivered worked extremely hard helping us get the cabinets into our house. I felt like we had to drag information and details out of him, and we walked away not knowing very much at all about their products. My client and I went in to order cabinets. The saleswoman was knowledgeable, but in the middle of our writing up the job, she took a phone call and learned she was pregnant! In checking the design concept she printed out, we noticed that the upper cabinets didn't have arched doors as requested. She said not to worry, that the computer didn't show the arches, but the arched doors were in the order. We wanted to complete the order, but she was so excited about going home to tell her husband the good news (about the pregnancy) that she asked us to come back the next day. The next meeting, In making the final order, I assumed what she told me to be fact and signed off on the design. Well, you guessed it. The doors came with no arch, and they said they wouldn't replace the doors as I had signed off on the design. I do on average three kitchens a year, and will never go to Quesco again. read more

Not only did they have an extensive selection to choose from, the atmosphere, sales staff and owner were all amazing!!
