I had KC Paving redo my entire driveway and walkway of pavers (powerwash + polymeric sand) about 1.5 years ago for ~$5000. The result looked ok, but they chipped a few of our pavers power washing them. Overall I would have rated them 4.5 stars. However, we started seeing a lot of cracks in the sand less than 1 year later, and our driveway is full of weeds again now through the cracks. Cracks happen because the packing sand underneath haven't fully settled, potentially because they didn't compact it enough. The last time we had this done through another company, it lasted many more years than that. And my neighbor's house's driveway (which was done by another company) is still crack free during this time for 3+ years. I'm a bit disappointed with the quality of the service. KC Paving originally told me that they dont' expect cracks or weeds to grow within 5 years (although they can't guarantee it). I followed up wtih KC Paving, and they said they might be able to send someone out to fix this free of charge (power blowing and filling in cracks). If so, that's the customer service that would be amazing, and I'll bump this up back to 4.5 stars! read more

In December, we engaged KC paving for a concrete project to redirect water away from the garage so that it does not leak into the garage. We just need rainwater to drain properly in prep for the the raining season. Jorge provided his suggestion and we accepted his idea. The job was done fairly quick and price is reasonable. However, one month later, after we experience a couple of heavy raining days, our garage is soaked with rainwater. When I told him his solution does not solve my problem, his response is he does not live at the property to fully understand the issue and I shall hire another drainage contractor. This company is not competent to do any concrete work for drainage. Now I need to find another contractor to redo the job. read more

Worked with Jorge from KCPaving on a small concrete and driveway paving job. Happy with the end result and he was easy to reach via email and phone. I wasn't around to manage them and trusted them to do the right thing We had a few small snags. The workers left a bunch of things around the first night on the street outside of our permit space and some neighbors complained, they also initially installed our gate slightly off height on one side but were able to fix it with washers. They also ran into some issues getting the curb cut inspected as they had a different inspector come to inspect than the one who approved the work, but it all eventually worked out. Overall seemed honest, and did what it takes to get the job done. He wasn't the cheapest, but his quote wasn't too far off, and he seemed to the most honest guy who took pride in his work. KC Paving actually answered the phone and Enrique was out to give me an estimate within a day or two. He answered all my questions and could not have been more helpful leading up to the actual day the work was done. He even came by on a holiday to deliver cones and signs so I could secure the area around my driveway for their trucks to park the following day. My driveway is 80' long and a very experienced crew led by Robert, one of the three owners, removed all the layers of old asphalt, built a redwood border and put down a 2 1/2" layer of asphalt in one day. They worked quickly and efficiently with Robert checking that every detail was perfect. They left the property completely clean and the driveway looks great. I got 2 bids for a driveway entrance. Both were about $6000. KC noted that it would be $1300 less if the inspector said we didn't need to remove the road asphalt and replace it. Fortunately that turned out to be the case. They billed me the extra $500 for the city's encroachment permit (as explained and agreed). I had failed to grind the stump deep enough. They recommended a change order to the original bid for them to immediately go rent a stump grinder so the bed could be deep enough per city engineering detail. This was an extra $600. Net net, $6000 out the door. KC Paving was professional and easy to work with. I am giving them 5 stars and uploading a photo of the excellent result. read more

This is an excellent operation. I used them to do some driveway work on a long drive and I must say I'm delighted. They patched my drive in a few places, fixed some tree root damage and redid a sewer cleanout. Then they filled the cracks and sealed the whole drive. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish. KC paving was not the cheapest quote I received. What they were, was the hands down best value. Their pricing was about mid-range, but as the project progressed they added on lots of extras that I'm sure others would have easily charged for. What you have here is a professional company and crew fully licensed and insured without the overhead of some frilly Home and Garden advertising budget. Jorge C. came out to do our estimate on our driveway. He was very professional and gave great advice. He was easy to work with and made several return visits to make sure we were getting what we wanted. He even gave some great advice on some work I was doing on the house myself. When the job started, Jorge (another one) lead the crew. Or should I say army? I don't remember the exact number, but there were at least 4 dump trucks and three work trucks lining our block at one point. They even brought in a port-a-potty! The crew was courteous, hard working, and diligent. I saw no shortcuts being taken. The job was done on time and the results were gorgeous. I never thought a paver lined driveway could look so good. Over a year later the pavers look great. The asphalt section has developed one large crack, but were were warned that earth is always moving. KC paving just finished my new asphalt driveway and I am so satisfied with them- Mike did the estimate and worked with me throughout and both owners of this family business were at my job. Their quote was very reasonable and the crew was respectful, were ready to begin at 8 am on the dot and still cleaning up at 5:45 pm. They took up 2300 sq ft of concrete under asphalt and put down the new asphalt with nice redwood borders in two days. It looks great! And just to test it, it poured the night they finished the job and no water pooling. Today they are back repairing some small things that were affected during the job. We hhad just completed a lage project that included a large driveway, walkways, a large patio with addtional walkways and some stairs at my home in Belmont.. After I inspected the finished project, I refused to pay for it because the pavers and the installation were totaly unacceptable. After the project was evaluated by some industry experts, the contractor that did the installation was dismissed Jorge, the owner od KC Pavers came to inspect the installation and was later retained to tear out the previous paver installation and replace it with another brand of pavers. KC Paving paved our yard and built a low retaining wall 6 or 7 years ago. They did such a good job that I told myself to write a review for them one of these days. We are still extremely pleased with the results. They used concrete toe on paver edges instead of cheap plastic edger. I've seen those fell apart on our friend's home in Los Altos Hills. They were very professional and accommodating. Our project was done in two phases - back yard then the front driveway. When they were doing the backyard, there were around 8 workers in our not-that-big backyard at times. I think it was Elisio who gave us a quote. He did not inflate the measurement as the other well- known paving company (S.P.) did. We needed to replace a very old asphalt driveway that had been repaired and sealed too many times. My contact person at KC was Enrique. We had to delay the project a number of months. Enrique's communication and follow up was very professional without being pushy. We worked together to find a date that worked. When the crew arrived it didn't take long for them to assess to demolition part of the project and the old asphalt was gone quickly. The crew worked well together mainly taking direction from the leader who I later met and who turned out to be the owner of the company. Once the project started, we had two modifications that were clearly explained and fairly priced.
