We had a driveway that sloped towards our house and sections were cracked and missing due to tree roots. Jose was able to construct a new driveway from demo to pour in 4 days. He takes pride in his work and works hard along side his crew. They were also accommodating to my requests during the form building, which I appreciated. During the estimate and planning, there were a few difficulties in communicating my requirements, but this was true for other companies I contacted so not letting it impact the review. After getting a new fence put in, we decided we want to give our yard a face lift too with a colored stamped concrete. Reached out to a bunch of Yelp companies and Centenos provided the best quote-couple thousand cheaper than others from Yelp! Now, they're not licensed and Jose did not give an invoice for the project which made it more risky since this isn't a cheap project and was not sure if he was going to change his quote later on but we took a chance and went with him anyways because of his attractive pricing and solid Yelp review. On the first day Jose came to mark the area and gave us a book with stamp design and color to choose from. He then left for another job and his crew didn't come till much later to start demo. They broke down the old cement, cleared everything we had in the yard, prepped with rebar/gravel, and started pouring/stamping all within 2.5 days Overall, Jose and his crew did a good job but his guy didn't do such a good job cleaning up and we have to tell Jose which he says he'll come back in 1-2 days to power wash again. We didnt hear from him for a week so we thought we'll have to do it ourselves, but after a week of waiting and his crew came suddenly showed up and did a better job power washing the footprints they left. read more

I interviewed multiple contractors for a concrete job at my own house. Jose was clearly way more competent, detailed oriented, and experienced than all other contractors I interviewed. - He promptly responded to every single text message, regardless of the time of the day. - Unlike the other contractors, he was able to get a concrete truck delivered at 7:00 am. This was critical, given how short the days are in December. No other contractor could commit to get the concrete delivered before noon which would not have allowed enough daylight to do a fine job of the finishing touches. - His price was quite reasonable and competitive. - He promised to bring 3 additional people to help pour and finish. Instead, he brought 4 helpers which helped finish the job during the daylight hours. - They did a beautiful job of framing, pouring, finishing, and cleaning up. Was looking for some concrete maintenance and repair work - namely, getting some trip hazards removed from the driveway slab where over time and due to a 65 year old redwood tree (roots), some slab cracks and lifting had occurred. I did get a few other quotes, but none were really consistent with the job I wanted done - as well, the costs were considerably more than I was prepared to pay. Working with Jose and his crew was easy; the cost he quoted me to grind down the high areas was exactly what I had expected - even paid them an additional $100 for some work I added on the day of the work - again, Jose and his crew were very accomodating and easy to work with. I would not hesitate to hire Centeno's Concrete again. His crew was on the job promptly at the time promised, were respectful of my property and the neighborhood - no problems with parking; no jobsite radio; no nonsense - they got right to work and kept busy until they finished; aside from an occasional stop to get some fresh air or a drink of water and they kept their lunch break to 30 minutes - saying a concrete contractor was a class act may be hard for some folks to grasp - but Centeno's was impressive. Work quality was also as expected - job safety, same; as some of their work was directly next to the public sidewalk, I noticed they immediatly set out of couple of orange cones to warn any pedestrians of their work. They made very good preparation like adding a layer of rock base and matrix of rebars. They also ordered good quality of concrete and 10+ people working during the pouring. It took about one week from start to all done. Their quote is reasonable. Other contractors I talked may quote a bit lower but may pour concrete directly on dirt, not use rebar, or mix the concrete by hand and pour it piece by piece. Worked with Jose and his crew on our driveway reno. Stamped concrete, 2 different patterns and 2 different colours (borders and center), 850sqft total. We already had in mind what we wanted so we defined and instructed the details for the layout design up front. And with that, Jose did a fantastic job. Demolition was quick and clean, laying the gravel and putting down the rebar, all in a couple of days. Then the coloured concrete came in (for a 5in thick setup) following by the stamping. Jose's team took time to finish details around the edges (soil, grass, sprinkler...) and finally applied the sealer 2 weeks later. The result came in better than expected, with a good contrast between the 2 colour tints. I'd highlight a few things: Pros: execution, planning, cost, communication, reliable Cons: no "sample" of coloured or stamped concrete (know what you want) Overall, experience working with Centeno's Concrete was good, results are great, price was very reasonable, and will see how our driveway will age over time. read more

I wanted to give a quick shout out to Jose and his crew for doing a splendid job on installing a stamped concrete back patio. He was incredibly responsive, gave us choices from the cheapest options to the more expensive solutions and worked with us to get it to where we wanted - no pushing or compelling us to go one way or the other but just giving us the pros and cons and letting us decide. Once we made a decision, he and his crew came on time to dismantle our existing patio and replace with the new one.
