However, we decided to use this Company because Carlos (Company Owner) was very friendly, professional and gave us a competitive price. We made a design on the spot that met all our expectations with 4" of 6 sack concrete and trace control joints, removal of an old plum tree and 3 big stumps, as well as trimming all existing trees on the property. The team created cutouts for all trees and roses filled with River rocks including weed protectors as well as creating drain trench filled with beautiful rocks. They were always available to answer all questions & scheduled our project in a timely manner that was very appreciated. Carlos made this huge process so easy. We could not be happier with Melvin and his team (Carlos Jr, Rudy and oth.) for a GREAT job! Our Project was done in 8 DAYS with outstanding results. This team arrived every day early in the morning, got to work right away and always cleaned all the areas after completing the daily project every evening. I worked with Alliance Interlocking Pavers across two projects in 2024 and 2025, spending over $30,000. While the owner, Carlos, is a genuinely friendly and charming person, the overall experience left me with mixed feelings. The first job (pavers) looked nice at first glance, but the quality wasn't 100%. I had to point out several issues, and while they were addressed later, it became clear that the crew didn't always follow high standards unless you brought things directly to Carlos's attention. Unfortunately, the second job (landscaping) was even more disappointing. The quality dropped further, and despite reaching out multiple times over four months to have issues corrected, no one ever followed through. I was promised several dates for a return visit, but after five attempts, no one showed up. It's frustrating because the team has potential, and Carlos is great to talk to -- but the lack of consistency and follow-up really took away from the overall experience. read more

Fantastic work on a complex, steep driveway with various bends and slopes all around. Carlos started with various detailed mockups for us to review to envision the end state. Visualizing the scope and design was extremely valuable since we had no idea what to expect. The upfront time devoted to design and various options was extremely valuable. The excellent service continued with the very detail oriented crew that did an outstanding job throughout the entire end to end process. The team was very efficient as they were in and out within about a week. The rest of the time was devoted to cleaning up and closing some open items. I highly recommend AIP. My new pavers are so beautiful. I I did receive three different bids and AIP was the least expensive. I also hired Carlos because he is very nice. His crew also did a great job cleaning up and getting the work done in a week. Carlos took photos from the house where I found pavers I liked and created a mock up photo of my driveway. That was a game changer for me. He also dropped off some samples of the product a week before so I could see how the product looked in the sunlight and in the evening. So we had a pile of pavers that needed to be put back in place. Carlos prepared an official estimate. The team did a great job. In terms of cost, we spoke with one other company that did not want to do a small job and wanted to re-do our entire back patio which was not what we wanted to do, so umm, no! We looked for a long time for an honest, reliable, reasonable contractor who would do an excellent job of installing pavers with beautifully finished borders, could make helpful suggestions to our design, was pleasant to work with, who listened well and translated our vision into reality. We finally found Carlos and his team who just finished replacing our driveway and front walkway, and installing a patio in our back yard. Carlos and his crew did an awesome job every step of the way! Here is why Carlos and Alliance Pavers receive an unqualified 5-star rating. CARLOS Carlos was very patient with all our questions before the project started. This investment of time upfront made the project run smoothly, and allowed Carlos to quote us a price that was fair to him and to us. Carlos either came by, texted or called almost every day to check on progress and make sure everything was done to his and our satisfaction. He responded very quickly to all texts. Soon after he visited our house, Carlos gave us a detailed estimate and a firm and fair price. He worked closely with us to find the best price on the materials we selected and extended his contractor's discount to us. He always told me in advance when there would be expenses for additional material, such as polymeric sand or decorative gravel. He was cost conscious on our behalf and made sure we had enough material, but not too much left over. I felt completely confident that Carlos would take care of every detail, would clearly communicate all our requests to the crew, and that our project would turn out as beautifully as the driveways and patios Carlos had previously completed. Three of the 10 pallets that were delivered were the wrong color. It took a few days and a lot of legwork, but Carlos tracked down 3 pallets in the right color. It took extra hours to work out the exchange with the manufacturer, but Carlos totally took care of it, and communicated to us regularly throughout. THE TEAM Carlos' team did every job - large and small - excellently, including installing irrigation controls, moving sprinkler heads, digging out tree roots, sinking a clean out drain, neatly stacking old pavers on pallets to be recycled, running conduits for electrical and irrigation under driveway and patio, scrubbing the new driveway and patio, re-sodding the lawn where pavers had been removed, and rinsing the walls that were dusty. The demolition and prep crew (Melvin, Yciro, Rudy, Cary, and Dave) worked very hard and very efficiently. They worked well as a team. Uvelio and Daniel, the paver laying team, were amazing. They laid both small pavers (3"x9") and large (19"x32"), heavy pavers (120 lb each). In both cases, they were nothing short of perfectionists. They solved a number of tricky angles beautifully, cut pavers exactly, and consulted with us whenever there were decisions to be made about the pattern. They are true artists. And nice, to boot! Every team member was respectful of our property at all times, and respectful of our neighbors. Arrived on time and left everything neat and orderly at the end of every day so the area was clean and safe. At the end of the project we were astonished at the attention to restoring our yard to its original condition. THE WORK The team quickly and efficiently demolished and hauled away concrete driveway in just a few hours with minimum disturbance to our neighbors. Two large areas were excavated to the proper depth, and at the proper slope to drain water away from the house. It took just 2 days. You can tell how skilled someone is at laying pavers by how they prepare the bed and how they finish the edges at the borders. Uvelio and Daniel were able to execute our non-standard design very well. They communicated at every stage so we could together figure out how to handle smooth transitions at some of the weird angles. Uvelio and Daniel are master craftsman who take pride in their work. On the last day, Uvelio and Daniel arrived at 8 AM and did not leave until well after 6.30 PM, working later than usual so they could finish the job on time. As they were leaving, Uvelio saw a paver he didn't like. He took the time to remove and replace it. You can tell the character of the man when you see what he does when he thinks no one is looking. We hired Alliance to modify an existing installation with the expansion of the permeable paver area by a little over 300 sq ft. Alliance also power-washed our existing 8-year-old pavers and you can barely tell the old from the new. We bought our house as a down-to-studs fixer-upper 16 years ago and have had many contractors, from excellent to hellish, and Alliance is definitely among those we'd welcome back. Carlos communicated clearly and promptly. His team worked diligently, was responsive to feedback, and proposed good ideas for small tweaks to my project design. The job was to expand and regrade our driveway, pave it, and install new stone retaining walls along the front yard ( + a french drain along the side of the house). the home looks fantastic (and I'm confident the work has increased our resale value). French drain was effective: it poured a couple of days after the install and we had 0 water leakage in our basement. I'm too embarrassed to show the "before" picture - half a dozen 8-12in sinkholes in my backyard pavers, courtesy of a hundred generations of gophers - that made it more like the Sierras than the burbs. Carlos's guys arrived first thing Monday morning. By Tuesday lunch, they had removed about a thousand old paver stones, leveled and deweeded the underlay, laid a new drainage pipe, then meticulously cut, relaid, powerwashed, and polymeric sanded the entire thing. I had my backyard redone by having Alliance Interlocking Paver perform the job of removal of cracking cement, packing dirt and laying pavers. Incidentally, I had a 10-foot long French drain placed 8 inches below the cement level. I made sure that we covered the drain being connected to the PVC pipe which ended at the front sidewalk. Trusting they are replacing the drain, I did not inspect that the drain is actually connected to the PVC tubing. Incidentally, after a good storm we had on 2021, I had flooding in the garage! I consulted a contractor who pointed out that the French Drain was not connected to the PVC. I called Alliance regarding the drain and that response I got was that it has been 4 years since the project was completed... I am Not going to trust Alliance Pavers and hire this team at you own RISK!! Very unprofessional......... read more

Carlos gave us bad advise to reuse the old pavers. They look faded and awful. Polymeric Sand from the joints keep coming out. His contractor tried to fix it but still sand comes out and the joints have gaps and many cracks. He never showed up once the work was started. He is not responsive once the work was completed.
