Chicken burrito was very well portioned. It's on a 14" tortilla & stuffed with rice, beans, and avocado. The menu said sour cream, cheese and sour cream but those were less present in mine. There's counter seating and well ventilated and shaded seating in the back. Great to get a meal during the day. Big benefit was the chips on the house with a salsa bar in the back. read more

It feels redundant even writing this review given how widely loved Bkyln Burro is. This spot hits with a burrito that I think I've had more than any other since living in the neighborhood. They pack it tight, with always fresh staples like rice and beans and incredibly tasty guac. My go to is the C.hill Rey (chile relleno) w/ pinto beans--and chips and guac on the side. And since the chips are so good, you should check out their variety of homemade salsas. Some of them are wayyy too spicy for me lol, but my friends w/ higher spice tolerance love them. If I'm ever lost about what to eat for dinner, or in a slight hurry and just need something reliable, Bklyn Burro is a no-brainer. read more

We ordered: * Carne asada burrito (no guacamole or pico) $15 * Panda Special (Al Pastor and Shrimp) $20 * Tamarindo Agua Fresca ($4) * Jamaica Agua Fresca ($4) * and got complimentary tortilla chips I ate almost half of my burrito and had nothing but rice and beans until I finally reached carne asada. But unfortunately I found a lot of hard chewy pieces / gristle towards the end. ): my boyfriend enjoyed his panda burrito that had Al pastor and shrimp -- he enjoyed that they were big size shrimp too. We did both mentioned how different the tortilla is compared to home. Not bad, not great, just can't pinpoint it. We did enjoy their salsa bar (definitely get their mango and pineapple salsa). The agua frescas are delicious and refreshing, definitely order those. Also the service here is great, I didn't catch the name of the man who helped us, but he was very nice. The stool seats at the bar are very uncomfortable to sit on but the table has a hook for your backpack / bags with an illuminated light. The food is ok and it's close so we order from there a lot -- I'm sure we've ordered more than 50 times. Tonight we ordered three burritos and a quesadilla, and all three of the burritos were totally dry -- no cheese, no sour cream, no avocado. (We ordered one of them with no cheese.) Fine, it happens, someone messes up. We ate the dry burritos -- we were hungry -- and then I called them and asked for a refund, and they told me they wouldn't do it unless we brought the burritos back so they could inspect them. I said "That's impossible, we've already eaten them," and they said "Sorry, no refund." Fantastic way to treat your customers. Also the chicken is lousy. read more

I'm actually sad it took me so long to get food from here. I've had Mexican food from nearby places and they don't compare at all. I ordered the chicken tacos and they were so delicious. They also are very affordable especially for how well they stuff them. I went with my friends and they gave us free chips for the table, which was nice. My friends also had the Al pastor tacos and chicken quesadilla - both rated highly. They have a salsa bar so you can add to your meal at your liking. This will be my new go to casual spot. read more

This is one of my go-to spots in the neighborhood because it's consistently good! My favorite burritos are the "el bandito" (delicious stewed pork, I think with tomatillos, rice, etc.) and the "el snob" basically a vegetarian burrito with everything but the meat! The salsa bar is everything - I love the chipotle sauce and the green sauce. Service is great and (mostly) quick and efficient - depending on how busy they are. I also love how they have a "baby burrito" offering which is just a smaller version of the burritos on their menu. Definitely worth a try! read more

Good burrito spot if you want a quick fix. The steak in my burrito was really tasty and chewy which I enjoyed and this spot is vegetarian friendly as my party is vegetarian and found this place to be her favorite burrito in the area. The guacamole they put in the burrito is different from the guac they have for the chips and I actually prefer the guac they put with the chips as it has more lime and spice in it! I wish they made my burrito with the guac they put with the chips. Things to note: Always order black bean with your burrito over the pinto as it's more flavorful. Been here twice, coming from the Bay Area I had high hopes, but overall the place is mediocre at best. My recommendation is to try it once, but if you're like me and don't enjoy the food, don't come back like I did thinking the next time it would be different/better. I ordered the garlic butter shrimp burrito that comes on a soft flour tortilla, filled with large sized shrimp, deliciously seasoned rice avocado and cheese ( I order the burrito without beans) The first time I tried the shrimp burrito I thought it was a fluke. How could this burrito be this good... omg this burrito is amazing 10/10. I have gone back to B'klyn burro multiple times and the taste and quality of their food is consistent. I always for forget to take a picture of their food, because I am too busy devouring their food. I've also ordered their chicken burrito and it's delicious and the ingredients are incredibly fresh and tasty. This is my new favorite place to get burritos. Recently Burro had its 7th anniversary and promoted $7 burritos all day long. So I was surprised that the two veggie burritos I ordered came to $18. I was told the veggie burrito has a two-dollar surcharge (even when the price is reduced by over half - no proportionality there). So all this time I've been paying $15 because I don't eat dead animals while those who do pay $13. Justification: the vegetables are specially ordered for the veggie burrito. So beware of the veggies in your burritos, meat eaters, if there are any - they must be vastly inferior. This really put me off the restaurant. read more

It is legitimately tragic that this place, which produces a great replication of San Francisco-style mission burritos, cannot for the life of them figure out how to work with modern delivery apps. A solid local find! This is my new go-to Mexican place. I had a perfect Friday night dinner with a pollo asado burrito bowl to go, which took about 15 minutes with a few others waiting in line in front of me. The bowl was $12 (including avocado!!) and there are plenty of meat or meatless options to try. The cashier gave me a little bag of chips while I waited--perfectly crispy and salted. The bowl had chicken, rice, beans (a choice of black or pinto), tomato, cheese, and avocado. It was DELICIOUS! Everything about it was perfect and I have no complaints. I was given a complimentary bowl of chips that were super fresh and crispy, with a slight hint of salt. I was really hungry and started snacking and was halfway through them before I knew there were salsas on hand. I ordered a burrito to go, which I'm eating as I type... YES, YES, and YES! Unlike a lot of places that sell their burritos with more rice than anything else, this burrito is full of beans, cheese, and all the other typical burrito ingredients. Also, you can choose between black or pinto beans, whole or refried. Currently, I'm close to the end of the delicious, fat ass burrito, and still have not detected arroz, and don't really care. What's not to love about B'klyn Burro! I love this place as my go to just got off the subway from work and I really want good Mexican spot! They have the best nachos in the area in my opinion and I have to search far and wide for anything that remotely resembles Tex-mex nachos. I first stumbled into B'klyn Burro 2 summers ago and we sat out in their back and enjoyed some of those delicious nachos after a day of day drinking. Highly recommended! But they have other options other than nachos you can partake in like all the yummy staples-tacos, burritos and quesadillas. You can of course pick all the different t meats or beans and veggies. And while you wait they give you little baskets of chips with salsa on the side. It's a small establishment with just a few tables for sitting when you first walk in but when it's nice out their backyard area is very nice. When people tell me, a native Southern Californian, that they've found great Mexican food somewhere I'm usually pretty skeptical. I'm here to tell you that this little spot is super legit if you are craving a Cali style burrito. The staff here is so so so nice, they have a burrito named after the man, the myth, the legend, the neighbor Jeffrey Wright, what more can you ask for? Well, I ask for more of their delicious house made salsa which they are happy to hook me up with. Also they have nice value priced drink specials. Disclaimer: Local restaurants need our help and support now more than ever. It's almost a miracle that many have managed to hang on. That out of the way, it pains me to leave this review. I want to support our local businesses and really try to overlook poor experiences and mistakes. However, I can't in good conscience not share my experience. I ordered through UberEats tonight, and the order showed up lighting fast. All good. After unpacking the order I found that the order was incorrect. I ordered quesadillas, but received burritos. No biggie. One might even think I got upgraded. All good. The problem is we specifically wanted quesadillas...again no biggie, I'll give them a call. All good. I spoke with Pepe, who was a nice guy, and explained the mixup. I let him know it's not a big deal, it happens, and that I'd like the items I ordered sent out. He mentioned UberEats can be inconsistent and to call next time and we'd be taken care of. I thanked him, and politely let him know we really wanted what we specifically ordered and it was THE reason we ordered in the first place. Pepe let me know that if I ordered again through the app it could take a long time and to call back in the future and we'd be taken care of. I politely thanked him for the gesture but that we'd prefer to receive what we ordered. I let him know we were right around the corner. Pepe finally did commit to sending out the correct order and that he'd want the delivered food items sent back, because it was "too much." I still don't know what that means. Weird, but ok. I thought to myself, wouldn't this normally be a "tax" for the mistake....Keep the mess up, our bad. I didn't care about what we had, and still wanted the original order. Pepe called back to confirm it was being sent out and reminded me to return the original order. I let him know that I would but that the food had been handled and a bite had been taken out of one of the items. He said that it was fine, that he could give it to "his guys" to eat.....wait what?????? Covid....hello???? Total record scratching moment...... To his credit, Pepe did get the correct order out quickly and threw in some chips with an apology written pin the bag. Unfortunately, the only thought running through my head was that the food that was sent over was someone else's recycled order. Fast and friendly service, amazing burritos wrapped perfectly, consistent quality. We don't normally dine in but they recently added a cute back patio with benches and a TV; the main area by the counter gets crowded, and for good reason. This place is always busy. Don't skip the salsa bar either -- I wish they bottled that stuff! The chipotle salsa is a favorite. Did I mention your order comes with chips?! That never happens in NYC. I am a San Francisco native. I am constantly looking for Mission style burritos because for some reason it is nearly impossible for people in NYC to replicate this type of burrito. I very much wanted B'klyn Burro to be the one, but I was really disappointed. Let me say though, I really like the vibe here and they do use good quality ingredients. But the burrito I had was just really dry...allegedly there was guacamole and sour cream, but they were nearly nonexistent in my burrito. Also, I don't mind that they toast their tortillas, even though that's not really how Mission style burritos are, but the toasted texture combined with the overall dryness really was not working for me. I'm willing to come here again and give it another shot, because it could have just been an off day or one of the cooks didn't have their shit together. I ordered delivery from them about 3 weeks ago for the first time and have eaten there every week since then. First time I've had Mexican and enjoyed eating the end bit of my burrito (the tortilla bit with no filling) because even their tortillas are flavorful! A+ for salsa bar (the green salsa is dangerously delicious, I could eat it by the gallon.) Additionally, I really appreciate that when we mentioned in passing that there wasn't sour cream on our burrito last time the person who rang us up made sure we got extra and thanked us for coming back.
