The Birdman Special with shredded chicken
    Holly E.

Went on a Tuesday to take advantage of "The Bird Man" special which includes a rotisserie chicken, rice and beans, pico de gallo and tortillas for $15. They happened to run out of rotisserie chicken by the time I got there but they offered shredded chicken instead. Got the hefty bag to go and they did not skimp on the shredded chicken. Everything tasted pretty good but did wish the chicken was less dry. Also really appreciated the freshly made tortillas. You can even see the lady making it up front! Overall, while it wasn't the best Cali-Mexican food I ever had, it was definitely worth the bang for the buck as the leftovers lasted a few days. The friendly service here also makes this a solid neighborhood spot.

This place is amazing. The Chilaquiles Burrito with steak is what i got. So great. Didn't take too long.

On a recommendation, I stopped by here for lunch on a weekday. A Brooklyn neighborhood I am vaguely familiar with, a recommendation was welcome, and this is a modest spot on a commercial street. Their lunch deal sounded good, a roast chicken platter with a soft drink for only $9! Order up front as you walk in. I got yellow rice, choice of black or pinto beans, with a bit of salsa, corn chips and tortillas. I also had a lemonade. Seats and tables were on the mezzanine at the back. You get to eat with real utensils. A real deal under single digits!

Wowwww, this restaurant was amazing. The flavor and quality was phenomenal. The food is super clean. The corn tortillas is made fresh. The juices had no additives. The customer service was also exceptional, they made sure we were happy and checked up on us a few times!

Incredible lunch special deal has gotten me hooked! For less than $12 dollars during lunch hours Monday-Friday enjoy a full meal that includes a beverage of your choice. The location is perfectly situated in a warm and cozy part of Brooklyn. You'll be delighted to have helpful customer service for those who can be a bit indecisive (like myself). Excited to try many more dishes and come back soon. The cherry on top is that they also have great taste in music

I hear their meat tacos are quite good, however I'm vegetarian and can only rate the food I ate. I had three vegan tacos-- 1 came with no pal, 2 with zucchini. I liked the zucchini better than the nopal, however both had in common that they lacked any kind of texture and were too 'watery'. I was able to pick up and eat the first taco but by the time I got to the other two, the tortillas were completely soaked. I really wanted to the like the place, it's quite charming with fun interior, but those tacos are not something I'd eat again. My friends were raving about the Al pastor (which also looked much better!) so it's probably a good spot if you like meat, but I can't recommend the veggie tacos..

    Outrageous California Burrito

Amazing place! We got the outrageous california burrito and it was the largest burrito i've ever seen in my life... It was absolutely delicious and I was a bit worried bc I really hate lettuce but I think I enjoyed lettuce for the first time in my life with this massive burrito. There's a self-serve sauce and toppings counter, and service was pretty quick! The place is quite small and was super busy when we went so fair warning that it might be difficult to manage getting a table if you go.

The tacos here are decent but unfortunately overpriced at $6 each. I got here at 3:00 but wasn't able to order the lunch special. It was pretty empty at the time that I got there.

I'll preface this by saying La Taq may be one of my favorite (if not, favorite) Mexican spots in the city. The meat in both our taco and the nachos was delicious, and the cheese blend was on point. Unfortunately, I do have to dock a star because everything was dripping in oil - I'm hoping this was a one-time thing because everything was SO GOOD outside of that. Service was friendly, and their burritos look soooooo good. Would come back to give a burrito a try for sure!!!

La Taq is RIPPING IT UP in Park Slope. The taco/burrito menu is expansive and delicious enough to give you TOUGH decisions to make. Believe all the photos -- the meats are so flavorful and ingredients so fresh, including the hand-rolled tortillas. My tops picks: Rachel's Taco (semi-fried shell!) Carnitas Michoacan DO NOT SLEEP ON THE CARNITAS. It is drippppping with flavor and richness. One of the best carnitases I've ever tasted. The service is outstanding. Do not wait to stop in. Thank goodness for La Taq!

Baja Burrito with Al Pastor & Carne Asada

Yummy, slightly pricey burritos. Service is quick (unless you're getting a Chimichanga) and easy. The atmosphere is busy in the front but there is seating in the back and some bar tables outside. The carne asada is delicious and they pack a lot of meat in. Burritos are big and will likely be two meals.

Delicious and humongous burritos with friendly service- I'm not a local but if I lived in the area, I'd be getting food here all the time! My friend and I visited at 11am on a Sunday morning- throughout our meal, we saw many customers come in to pick up burritos/tacos so I can tell it's a popular spot for the locals. To order, just go up to the counter, tell the staff member what you want, and then pay at the end of the counter. You'll pick up your food there, and then can grab a seat. Service was very quick and friendly. When you're done with your meal, make sure to clean up after yourself by dropping off your tray and plates at the designated station. My friend got a variety of tacos and some guacamole and chips. I opted for the Chula Vista Burrito (al pastor w/ beans, rice, grilled pineapple, pineapple Colorado sauce and the La Taq salsa)- this was a huge beast of a burrito, and quickly became a fork and knife situation. I see what they mean about the LA burritos, it's really go big or go home! The burrito itself was fantastic. Meat was juicy and tender, the sweetness of the pineapple blended so well with the savory flavors. Check out the little salsa bar near the cash register!

    Super Nachos with Carne Asada

Run, don't walk, to La Taq. From the friendly staff to the generous portions and mouthwatering meat, you're guaranteed to leave happily satisfied. The super nachos can be a meal on its own and have the perfect ratio of meat, cheese, beans and toppings. The tacos are stuffed and have awesome flavor in every bite. The salsa bar has 3 different spice leveled salsas, which is a compliment to any dish. This restaurant itself gives homage to LA and you would think you're there with the authentic flavors in every bite. I will dream about these nachos until I'm back in town and can order them again.

Most of all, what I really appreciated with every bite is that I wanted more and that it was so unique compared to anything else that I had ever tried. I thought the tasting menu was a really good deal, but you should also consider booking just a la carte because everything was so solid. You can tell when the chips served alongside the guacamole are so delicious and so unique that the rest of the meal is going to be incredible. I will say that it did seem slightly understaffed. Our waiters did the best they could, but dinner took longer than expected. It was still a great experience for both those on dates and those there with friends!

I loved all the sauces that they give to each table that I couldn't decide which one I liked more. The drinks were very good as well. We got the deconstructed margarita and I really enjoyed it as well as the pina colada cocktail. Service was a bit on the slower side but to be fair, there weren't many people working the tables. Also one of our dishes got served to the wrong table and then never came :( definitely wanna come back to try the tuna tartare which was the dish that didn't get delivered.
