Shredded beef Lunch Bowl and Horchata Aguas Fresca

Incredible lunch special deal has gotten me hooked! For less than $12 dollars during lunch hours Monday-Friday enjoy a full meal that includes a beverage of your choice. The location is perfectly situated in a warm and cozy part of Brooklyn. You'll be delighted to have helpful customer service for those who can be a bit indecisive (like myself). Excited to try many more dishes and come back soon. The cherry on top is that they also have great taste in music

I hear their meat tacos are quite good, however I'm vegetarian and can only rate the food I ate. I had three vegan tacos-- 1 came with no pal, 2 with zucchini. I liked the zucchini better than the nopal, however both had in common that they lacked any kind of texture and were too 'watery'. I was able to pick up and eat the first taco but by the time I got to the other two, the tortillas were completely soaked. I really wanted to the like the place, it's quite charming with fun interior, but those tacos are not something I'd eat again. My friends were raving about the Al pastor (which also looked much better!) so it's probably a good spot if you like meat, but I can't recommend the veggie tacos..

I'll preface this by saying La Taq may be one of my favorite (if not, favorite) Mexican spots in the city. The meat in both our taco and the nachos was delicious, and the cheese blend was on point. Unfortunately, I do have to dock a star because everything was dripping in oil - I'm hoping this was a one-time thing because everything was SO GOOD outside of that. Service was friendly, and their burritos look soooooo good. Would come back to give a burrito a try for sure!!!

Thanks for the love and great energy & food ooh say cheese handsome

I discovered this gem on Instagram and made the trip from Long Island to Brooklyn the very next day--and it did not disappoint. From the moment you arrive, the air is filled with the irresistible aroma of authentic Mexican herbs and spices. The juicy, flavorful chicken tastes like it's been prepared with care, love, and a deep sense of tradition. The service was top-tier--warm, welcoming, and genuinely positive. That kind of energy matters, especially when it comes to the people preparing your food, and you can feel it here. The pico de gallo and guacamole paired perfectly with the tender chicken--absolutely delicious. And the margaritas? Both flavors were spot on. Everything lived up to what Francisco, the owner, promised--even down to a great conversation about La Taq's humble beginnings and the passion behind it. It's inspiring to see a dream still thriving on a Park Slope block, serving generous portions of high-quality, flavorful food. Gigi with the shades will definitely be back--this place speaks for itself. xoxoxo

La Taq is RIPPING IT UP in Park Slope. The taco/burrito menu is expansive and delicious enough to give you TOUGH decisions to make. Believe all the photos -- the meats are so flavorful and ingredients so fresh, including the hand-rolled tortillas. My tops picks: Rachel's Taco (semi-fried shell!) Carnitas Michoacan DO NOT SLEEP ON THE CARNITAS. It is drippppping with flavor and richness. One of the best carnitases I've ever tasted. The service is outstanding. Do not wait to stop in. Thank goodness for La Taq!

Yummy, slightly pricey burritos. Service is quick (unless you're getting a Chimichanga) and easy. The atmosphere is busy in the front but there is seating in the back and some bar tables outside. The carne asada is delicious and they pack a lot of meat in. Burritos are big and will likely be two meals.

Delicious and humongous burritos with friendly service- I'm not a local but if I lived in the area, I'd be getting food here all the time! My friend and I visited at 11am on a Sunday morning- throughout our meal, we saw many customers come in to pick up burritos/tacos so I can tell it's a popular spot for the locals. To order, just go up to the counter, tell the staff member what you want, and then pay at the end of the counter. You'll pick up your food there, and then can grab a seat. Service was very quick and friendly. When you're done with your meal, make sure to clean up after yourself by dropping off your tray and plates at the designated station. My friend got a variety of tacos and some guacamole and chips. I opted for the Chula Vista Burrito (al pastor w/ beans, rice, grilled pineapple, pineapple Colorado sauce and the La Taq salsa)- this was a huge beast of a burrito, and quickly became a fork and knife situation. I see what they mean about the LA burritos, it's really go big or go home! The burrito itself was fantastic. Meat was juicy and tender, the sweetness of the pineapple blended so well with the savory flavors. Check out the little salsa bar near the cash register!

    Super Nachos with Carne Asada

Run, don't walk, to La Taq. From the friendly staff to the generous portions and mouthwatering meat, you're guaranteed to leave happily satisfied. The super nachos can be a meal on its own and have the perfect ratio of meat, cheese, beans and toppings. The tacos are stuffed and have awesome flavor in every bite. The salsa bar has 3 different spice leveled salsas, which is a compliment to any dish. This restaurant itself gives homage to LA and you would think you're there with the authentic flavors in every bite. I will dream about these nachos until I'm back in town and can order them again.

We arrived close to closing (about an 20 mins) on a Saturday and the staff had no sort of issue with it. They were super nice about letting us stay and eat in (we did not choose to eat inside) and took our order. They were fine with everything on the menu, even the chimichanga that takes some extra time to fry and make. The food was ready within ~15ish mins and was delightful. The service also gave us waters while we were waiting for our food. Overall, really nice staff. The vibes are somewhat retro and very casual with a few tables of 2-4 inside and 2 stand up small tables outside. The food itself was nice and solid. I ordered a Chula Vista burrito and while the flavor was there I did find it a bit dry (could use some sour cream or something). There was a lot of rice and beans and it is stuffing for one person to finish down. The pork was flavorful but after a while it becomes a struggle to keep eating and I probably should have added on sour cream or something else to the burrito. They provide hot, medium, and mild salsa but that wasn't enough. They also provide limes and a few other toppings. Will come back when I'm in the area and give this spot another try.

    Chimichanga with salsas and jalapeño

La Taq is a California inspired Mexican restaurant in Park Slope. On my two most recent visits there were lines out the door, so it is certainly a popular spot, but does it live up to the hype? The store itself is fairly simple. In the front is a counter where you can order your food. For most patrons, that is going to be a burrito or tacos, which are prepared immediately in front of you (chimichangas, nachos and a few other items are prepared separately and brought out to you). The decor is inspired by California, and towards the cash register there is a cooler with all sorts of drinks on display (beer, Mexican Coke and Jarritos, etc). Once you have your food, if you are dining in you will notice an upstairs area with seating (which can be rearranged on request to accommodate larger parties). There is also a salsa bar with mild, medium (chipotle) and hot salsas, as well as pickled jalapeño and carrot and lime on offer. The menu is extensive with California-style Mexican food, including tacos, burritos, a chimichanga (very exciting given the relative difficulty of finding them in New York), nachos, quesadillas, and even what they call San Diego fries (fries with guac, salsa and sour cream, with a meat of your choice). As you'd expect, there is a California burrito (burrito with fries inside), and there are a number of choices of meat and not-meat. On my trips I've sampled the chimichanga (very good, though maybe a bit less fried than I had hoped) and the nachos (very good as well). The burritos are not for the peckish, and are easily some of the largest in New York City (observing my fellow diner it looked as though most people opted to attack with a fork and knife rather than attempt to actually pick it up and eat it. All this represents a fairly compelling option for California style Mexican food in Brooklyn, and it certainly outdoes a number of other more generic Mexican spots in the area, though I do not know that I could give this place 5 stars when compared to other Mexican options in Brooklyn. By no means is it an insult, and I will certainly find myself in La Taq again soon.

Amazing tacos! Fresh ingredients and great flavor. This is a perfect casual spot for tacos, burritos, and more. Everything was so fresh, we loved the taco shells. The staff was very nice to us. I appreciated the salsa station as well for personalized taco experience. Would love to come back here

I ordered the mini burrito with carne asada and pollo and it was delicious! I lived in Santa Monica for 10 years and there is a place called Tacos Por Favor off of Olympic and Pico and totally reminded me of that place ! A taste of California Mexican here in Park Slope! Can't wait to go back!

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.

4.4 and rounded up. Ambiance 4 stars…read more Food 5 stars. Service 4.3 stars. AMBIANCE: Walking to the restaurant from the subway, it's located on an unassuming block at the corner of 4th St and Havemeyer in Williamsburg, front of store doesn't particularly stand out. Walking in they've decorated with creative, crafty (in a good way) touches--the multitude of ropes draped from the ceiling add dimension to the ceiling and the bar back wall is composed of wood pieces forming a multi-colored herringbone pattern. Textured glass pendant lights hanging from the ceiling throw mini geometric patterns across the dark walls, and vibrant canvas artworks add pictorial interest along the walls. FOOD: YUM. I can see why this place was jam packed on a Saturday night, and reservations are needed. Strong recommendation for their tasting menu at $58 pp, what a delightful meal! 8 sharing dishes and 3 desserts were perfect for a party of five, and drinks are separate though you can add a cocktail pairing for $47. For each main they provide a serving per person, and the desserts are shared. I came hungry and was so full by the end of the meal--everything was delicious! - grapefruit guacamole w/house-made chips: the grapefruit chunks were "meaty" and surprisingly went really well with the guac, it added a different citrus element than the usual lime. Comes with a small bowl of maybe 6-7 chips and we asked for two chips refills since the chips to guac and salsa ratio was low. - spicy faroe islands' salmon tartar: tasty and I liked the latin flavors and corn, snow peas, a touch of wasabi. Flavors of the sesame-soy-truffle-lemon vin and crema got a little muddled. Relatively more "generic" dish of the evening though I was here for it! Any dish with fresh tender salmon, I can't complain. - blue crab and carrot tostada, generous shredded crab salad on top of freshly crisp blue corn tortilla. Topped with pumpkin seeds, dill, cilantro, and saffron-orange aioli. - three cheese & artichoke 'queso fundido': served in a very hot ceramic pot and super melty and delicious, eaten with the fluffy grilled pita and green apple slices + salsa. One of the top picks of the evening. - roasted bone marrow and chorizo, served as tacos with fresh blue corn tortillas, and added a sprinkle of pickled onions--does that sound amazing? Bc it was AAHMAZING. - spicy chipotle-guajillo shimp 'diablo' (not spicy): served with pumpkin tortillas and three accompaniments on the side--mushroom chile crisp, horseradish crema, celery 'salsa macha". Part 2 to make your own tacos was another hit! Our entire table agreed if they sold the sauce for the shrimp we'd all buy it. - heritage pork osso bucco 'carnitas' with Fall-spiced black mole, sour cherry mostardo, calabrian chile pesto: cue drooling now. This part 3 of the tacos was served on pumpkin tortillas; the meat was practically falling off the bone, tender, juicy and flavorful. - buffalo-style com 'elote: sooo good too! A little messier to eat since it comes drizzled with spicy hot sauce butter, feta, lime aioli, cilantro, though totally worth it! - Desserts: --green tea matcha churros: comes with two little pots of spiced mexican chocolate & passion fruit sauce. Warm, sugary and crisp without being too sweet. --pumpkin spiced-vanilla flan: topped with sour cherries, cocoa nibs & toasted seed 'trail mix", if you love flan you'll love this, so smooth and creamy with a bit of crunch and tang from the cherries. --pistachio tres leches cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry, using an olive oil cake: we all agreed this was probably the best tres leches we've ever had. The pistachio nuttiness and the creaminess from the milks paired well. SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive service though it was very loud in the restaurant and they had to really shout. There was a delay in the middle of our meal I think bc kitchen was slammed, after the entree we waited about 35 min for our desserts. Considering they limited the seating to 2 hours and about half of our party arrived 20 min late, and accounting for the long wait pre-dessert, they did us solid by extending our table time by about an hour in total. Also great that they brought the first dessert out with a candle for my friend's birthday.
