BJ's never disappoints. There are many food items to choose from and the service is always great. We love sitting in the bar section and luckily we were able to get a booth. I had the Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos, served with Black Beans and Chips and the Tacos had this really tasty Coleslaw. My husband's plate came with a mini Pizookie, so we shared it. It's served warm with Ice Cream. It was good, although way too sweet for me. By the way, our Server Jessie was awesome. read more

Let me start off by saying this was a very, very disappointing visit. We got there at 4:30pm, loads of open tables. The young hostess sat at the table, put the menus on the table and walked away.. My wife and I proceeded to sit there for a solid 20 minutes, during these 20 minutes six additional tables were seated around us. They all had their waters taken to them. Some of them placed their orders and some of them received their water and their drink orders and their food orders within that 20 minutes, we sat there waiting for our waitress, our waiter to come take our order. Finally, we got up and went back to the hostess desk and asked the hostess if she could find the manager she asked her a problem and I said yeah we haven't received any service since you saw us and she goes. Oh where did I see you're at and let me tell you we were out in the middle right by where she was standing seating all the other people. She went on to find her manager, which took exactly 11 more minutes because she could not find the manager. When he did show up, clearly, he must've been outside because he came in with sunglasses on his head. He introduced himself he said what can I do for you? I want to explain to him how we sat for 20 minutes and no one waited at us and we waited another 11 minutes to speak to him clearly there's some issues with customer service. He tried to offer us to buy us dinner and try to make it up to us, which was very honorable the sad part about all this is they weren't that busy and there was waitresses and waiters all around us and no one took the time to find out why we were sitting there and not being helped. The top it all off the hostess who is young is just stupid. She's young and dumb and stupid. Clearly BJ's brewhouse needs to do a lot more training with their customer service in the front of house. this was a horrible experience and I will tell you that we'll probably never go back to BJ's brewhouse again. I really can't say anything bad about the food cause we didn't get anything. We didn't even get a glass of water so I will tell you this there are a lot better options in Reno Nevada than BJ's brewhouse. read more

Company's coming and I wanted to have a nice meal here for when they get here from a long drive from Southern CA. BJs came through with a meal deal with pizza, garlic knots, fettuccine Alfredo, and a caesar salad. The all meat pizza was delicious and I enjoyed the crust. Burger night is the way to go especially with the Smashburger as you get extra meat so that's my favorite and with the guacamole appetizer you can spread onto the burger so you don't have to do it separately Anthony was our waiter again. Let's just start off by saying Saint Anthony is one of the best absolute best waiters. We sat in the bar area for happy hour. We've had him before. He is always super friendly, super courteous, super helpful. Anything to please the customer which is the way it should be. There was a little snafu on my order which he told the manager, and the manager corrected it immediately, which I was very pleased about without even hesitation. Although BJ'S isn't exactly my favorite lunch spot anymore, it is still nice to come back to when there's a craving for a Pizookie. So, it is nice that they have the $13 pizookie meal deal. I tried the chicken bacon ranch piadina and it was good, but super messy. The fries were incredibly perfect, but the ranch needs work. I tried the strawberry shortcake pizookie and honestly thought it was going to be way too sugary, but it was just enough and ended a craving for something sweet with strawberries in it. Been going here for years and the south Virginia is our favorite location. Always clean and the staff has Always been so nice. Its a big place and I love the wall of beer names. They have a good selection of beer. Something for everyone. They also make their own root beer too. They have a big menu with out it being too overwhelming. Everything from salad to pizza to burgers to comfort food. They have gotten rid of some of my favorites over the years like potato skins and more , sad but I guess they had to make room for other things. The food isn't anything too special and run home and tell your family about but it is their food is good and we've never had a problem. Except for the ranch..it seemed watered down which never used to be like that.. They have $13 lunch specials which is what we got today. It comes with your entree and a small pizookie. I got a smash bacon and cheddar burger and my pizookie was the oreo and cream.. my fiancee got the chicken Bacon ranch piadina..its like a quesadilla..and the strawberry shortcake pizookie.. BJs is a typical chain where you can get some good items. One of my favorite drinks is here called the pink Cadillac but more recently I got a holiday drink with a little melting snowman marshmallow in it and it was yummy! I also tried their gluten free hamburger. The bun was good. Burger was a bit overcooked and next time I need extra cheese. The white cheddar mashed potatoes (GF) were DELICIOUS. My favorite thing to eat here used to be the enlightened chicken tacos on little pitas, but now my unfortunate gluten intolerance missed that. They have a dedicated gluten free menu. The middle tv at the bar is the biggest but a little blurry so that was the loss of a star. read more

My first and last time to this location. BJs is usually a safe bet, but not this time. The wait staff were very rushed and we felt like an inconvenience. My burger was very greasy and I received what looked like a half order of sweet potato fries. The fries were all small broken pieces. It definitely looked like the end of the bag. I really go back-and-forth with BJ's. The first time I ever went was when I moved to Reno in 2012 and my mom, my dad, and I really loved eating there on occasion. Since then, it's really just been a restaurant that's convenient. My most recent visit was on a Wednesday after hot yoga with a friend. Not the bartender, not the server, but a customer sitting next to us let us know the deals of the day for the week and Wednesdays happen to be burger day. All of the loaded burgers are 12.99 with unlimited fries. We decided to split a burger and share a couple plates of fries lol. The service was OK that day, I think the bartender/server was a substitute, but I will say they were very generous with all the extra side orders of salad dressings we asked for. The food was fine. Not great not awful. Waitress needs to learn her job a little better. She told me they don't have any low-fat dressings, but you can see oil and vinegar and balsamic on their website. Chicken on the salad semi bland, but I guess expected for local. I feel like the food is always good here but the ambiance is hit or miss depending on the day. You need to make a reservation on the weekend, but are typically safe in a weekday. Giving the South Reno location a chance after a bad experience at the Sparks location. To start off, our server was great but both of the hostesses were not friendly in any way, and they were borderline just rude. I may just be used to how friendly everyone is in at the smaller local businesses, but it's just not acceptable to be all grouchy to your customers. There is just so many local options around, so the sheer amount of money the bill is, for food that isn't great just doesn't check the boxes for me. We were super stoked as we started this meal, drinks were good, service was solid at the table and we were set and ready. the food did come decently quick, but when it came, the fried chicken and the wings were a mixture of burnt and/or just unclean old oil. As you can see in the pictures. The table next to us actually was so upset about the burnt onion rings that they sent them back, but to be fair theirs looked worse then out stuff. The fries we got were solid, even the pickles, but the chicken was a big miss. I will give it to them, the kids pizza was solid, the salad was nice and fresh and crisp, and the non fried stuff was nice as tasty. But come on frying stuff is the easiest part. I am in awww of the great customer service we were given with our to go order last night and want to thank Yun Cha for taking care of our problem above and beyond. Our order was not made right so we sent it back to be redone before we left with it to go home. Unfortunately when we got it home it was done wrong again. I called to complain thinking there was nothing they could do. After explaining our situation this lovely person took it upon himself to hand deliver another order himself. Customer service can be non existent sometimes and this blew my mind. We live across town and it was a Friday night and I know the place was busy. I didn't think my experience could get worse from the last time I was in... but BJ's managed to pull it off. We arrived at 5:30 PM. The hostess told us there was a 10-minute wait. 5:45 PM rolls around. The hostess tells us it will be another 15 minutes because she doesn't have a server available until 6 PM. But why did you tell us a 10-minute wait? We waited another 5 minutes past 6 PM before finally being seated. A 10-minute wait turned into 35 minutes. Not a great start, and the same issue I had last time when visiting. I did speak to the manager before being seated and expressed my frustration about the inaccuracy of the wait times. To be transparent in this review, she did end up comping a single appetizer as compensation for the awful wait. That's good, I guess. Then came the food and drinks. Ordered iced teas and a beer. The new Co-Hoperation beer was completely flat. No bubbles whatsoever. I asked for a new beer, and the second one, Pirahna Pale Ale, was better. The server then informed us they were out of lemons for the iced tea... what? How can a massive restaurant like BJ's be out of lemons? My dad tried to order the salmon. They were also out of salmon. This is a joke, right? Then came the appetizer. Ahi Tuna Poke. The avocado was not fresh. It was browning severely. At least it was comped... Then the entrees. Mostly everything was ok. Nothing was great, but nothing was terrible, until my dad bit into an onion ring and the literal grocery store produce sticker was still on the onion. He informed the server, and she responded with a confused "OK". It's not the food experience that has been the downfall when I go to BJ's, though this visit wasn't the best. But between the poor wait time accuracy and the brutal inconsistencies, I think I will have to stop visiting this BJ's location. What a shame... I've noticed the overall rating for this location has dropped significantly over the years. It's not a surprise to me at all. I hope management will step in and turn things around. We were a group of 12 adults, and she managed our six separate checks like a total pro. Everything was smooth and hassle-free. I ordered the fish and chips, and it did not disappoint -- delicious and perfectly cooked. Between the great food, excellent service, and fun atmosphere, BJ's has definitely earned a spot as my new regular go-to. Highly recommend, especially if you're coming with a larger group. Bumping up the BJ's ratings to five now because the focus on customer service and the incredible regard they have for their guest satisfaction is just over the top and so appreciated. We came in on a Friday evening around 5:15. We jumped on the waitlist via Yelp ahead of time and then proceeded to realize it was still happy hour when we got there so I headed to the bar to order some drinks and an appetizer while we waited for our table The mule and the Kentucky Mule were fine. The chips and salsa were plentiful and a great way to start off our night, but it was the conversation with the bartender. I think her name was Madie that made it that much better. I've been scoping out bar tables while I waited for our food and drinks at the bar and saw one that I was gonna snatch, but had to grab my family first when she saw that the table had been taken and we couldn't sit there to continue enjoying happy hour she said hey I hope you know that because you're with your family, the restaurants are always happy to extend happy hour pricing to the tables. Just let your server know. This is such a pro tip because the kids wanted to enjoy the mini pizzas and we thought about having another drink so when we did get seated, we spoke to the server and she's like oh yes, of course we can definitely do that. Just check the bill at the end in case there's any errors and I'll make sure it's corrected. We ordered our food. Today me and my Wife went to happy hour as we have since 2005 when we moved down the street from this location. Today when we recieved our bill, instead of the usual $7 for a 22oz beer we were charge $9.99 each for 3 beers. Told the waitress who was nothing short of spectacular at her job, 'The 22oz beers were billed at full price of $9.99.' She said 'thats not right' and walked away with the bill. Several minute later the Manager shows up to our table and says sorry but the price is $9.99 for 22oz beers, it's not a discount today. I tell Her we have paid $7 on wednsedays for 22oz beers for several years. She says thats not true as it has never been $7. Why would we order 22oz beer at $10 when we can get a 16oz for $5? Why would you offer the 22oz then and not mention this? Wedensdays have always been $7 for 22oz beers since they started the Wednesday special. It got a little heated, customers on either side watching, 6 beer brewers standing behind us disucssing the days brew watching, I got loud as I was arguing we have paid $7 in the past. She informed me the price was always $9.99 and I was wrong. I said what if I could show you a reciept with the $7 22oz beer would she be surprised. She said She would like to see it. Well here it is, if you want more images of previous $7 beers I can provide many more. I'd been to this restaurant YEARS before and it was great; not anymore. Lunch on a Saturday was winding down so there was no reason for slow service. They now serve your food on a metal tray with a piece of parchment paper on it. That's ok, but the tray was sticky. Speaking of sticky, the booth was sticky, the table was sticky, the divider wall was sticky and looked like things have been splashed on it for years. Food was okay, just had a bacon burger (they did cook it to my preference). My friend ordered the chicken club, asked for cheese and ranch for her fries. She got no cheese and had to remind the waiter about her ranch. Spilled liquid under a table next to us never got cleaned up (we were there for 2 hours). Just a complete let down. They need to shut down and do a deep clean on this place or have a deep clean done at night. I won't be back. :( read more

I came here the other night to meet up with my sister-in-law before going to a movie nearby. It was very crowded and lively, and I felt lucky to be able to grab a table in the bar area before she arrived. It happened to be happy hour so we took advantage of it by getting a couple of their $5 Dark Horse Chardonnays and the $7 Avocado Egg Rolls from among the many offerings. From the regular menu we shared the Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts (yum! we loved them!) and the Enlightened Seared Ahi Salad (very generous portion). Our server was super friendly and attentive! When they came out my mom's dish looked great! My 24$ chicken Alfredo looked awful. Like they dipped one noodle into the sauce and the stirred it around in the rest of the noodles. It also comes with broccoli IN the pasta who have broccoli in a chicken Alfredo? Menu also said a garlic knot comes with it. I said I'll give them the benefit of the doubt I tasted it and let me tell you it was bland and dry and awful. The chicken was well seasoned I liked that but the pasta was just horrible. The broccoli same thing just bland. Not good the bread knot was just a bread knot no garlic whatsoever. Very disappointed.
