This restaurant is horrible. Please don't go here. They were rude and incompetent. I asked for cheese on my eggs and when I opened my container, it looked as though they kicked my bag before they gave it to me. When the employee asked the shift manager to change it. She said very rudely, "well what she want me to do." This was horrible service. I would never go there again. Disclaimer. This picture was taken while I was sitting at the window in the drive thru. I didn't move just opened the tray and this is what it looked like.

October 4, 2025 To…read moreWhom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from the Bojangles location at 1909 North Church Street in Burlington, North Carolina. On October 4, 2025, I placed an order through DoorDash that included a 100-count chicken Bo-Bites, four apple crisps, two sweet potato pies with icing, six Bo-Berry biscuits with extra icing, and house-made ranch dressing. The total cost of this order before tip was $117.52, and after including tip and delivery fees, the total came to approximately $133.49. Upon receiving my order, I discovered several issues. The sweet potato pies were completely missing, and the icing--which I specifically requested and paid an upcharge for--was not applied. The four apple crisps I ordered were also missing, and instead, I received four Bo-Berry biscuits, which are less expensive. The six Bo-Berry biscuits did not have the extra icing as requested, nor did the four substituted Bo-Berry biscuits that replaced the apple crisps. The house-made ranch dressing, which is a key dipping sauce for the Bo-Bites, was also missing. If the staff had at least applied extra icing to the four replacement biscuits, I could have somewhat understood their logic in substituting the crisps, but that was not done either. These repeated errors, especially for an order of this size and cost, demonstrate a lack of care and attention to detail. The customer service I received afterward was equally disappointing. It took me four separate attempts to reach someone at the restaurant, as my first three calls were answered and immediately hung up on. When I finally got through, the woman who answered--whose name I could not understand because she mumbled--spoke to me in a dismissive and unprofessional tone. Rather than offering to resolve the issue, she told me she would "give me what she thought was right," despite the DoorDash redelivery status clearly outlining what was already prepaid and owed. Not only is that response unprofessional, but it is unethical to profit from items that were paid for but never fulfilled. To make matters worse, she cut me off mid-sentence and hung up the phone, which is completely disrespectful and unacceptable under any circumstance. I contacted DoorDash support following this call, and they offered to redeliver the entire order. However, when I followed up with the restaurant, I was informed that the apple crisps were out of stock and that no refund or full remake would be provided. Instead, they would only send the missing pies and ranch and considered the matter closed. After the redelivery, the order was still incorrect. I received only two Bo-Berry biscuits instead of four apple crisps, two ranch cups for 100 Bo-Bites, and two sweet potato pies--again without icing. I know from experience that the pies must be taken out of their boxes and placed into styrofoam containers for icing to be applied, and since I order them this way regularly, this clearly shows that proper preparation was simply ignored. This entire experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially given the size and cost of my order. It was clearly intended for a gathering, and not having essential items made everything far more inconvenient. The lack of care, poor communication, and unprofessional service reflect a serious disregard for customer satisfaction. I have already informed DoorDash of these issues and suggested they review their partnership with this location, as it appears the staff is not properly trained to handle customer service or fulfill orders accurately. I am requesting a full refund for the missing and incorrect items and ask that this matter be addressed to ensure other customers do not experience the same treatment. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely, Alyssa Thompson Thompsonalyssa091@gmail.com

It's time for me to get my Book Out Of all the best food that I've Took Out If you're in the Deep South Put 1 thing in your mouth Cajun Chicken and Shakes fresh from Cook Out! Not to be confused with Coked Out, which is what your one friend in Los Angeles is. This is the other Cook Out location that I stopped for a chicken sandwich on the same night as the one in Durham, because I needed extra chicken for the gym. They had a super super cute girl covered in tattoos, very extraordinarily pretty, and she made it a five star visit. So she was hitting on me and took pictures of me (on my phone) even though it was raining right outside of her drive-thru window. The chicken sandwich was excellent (cajun chicken grilled, extra cajun) and I love how late they're open and it's close to the highway - so I couldn't really like this place any more than I do. Remember to always Rock Out with your Cook Out when you're in Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, and such. Not sure where Such is, but I think they have them there. The Backyard Burger and Banana Shake and Sweet Tea are all amazing too. I'd rather Cook In than Cook Out. Actually that's a lie. And I: Needed to borrow reading material. Should have gone to Book Out. Needed help robbing a bank. Should have gone to Look Out. Needed help winning a chess game. Should have gone to Rook Out.

I had occasion to be in Burlington at lunch one day recently, and decided I needed to stop in. Zack's definitely fits that "area establishment" vibe, and people were coming in and out quickly... now I see why. They get you moving fast! I share John C's thoughts: Within about 15 seconds, a gentleman asked what we wanted. We had barely gotten the menu out when he said, "We have hamburgers and hot dogs. Hot dogs come with chili, onions, and slaw." Unlike John C I opted for chili cheese fries, because I am a glutton for punishment, but otherwise, got the hot dogs the same way, but add cheese. Food was out in a flash, and like John, i kind of wish more care was put into it to up the quality. I don't need my stuff lightning fast. Anyhow, just to be honest, I didn't care for the overall flavor of anything in particular. The hot dog franks and bun were pretty average, no toasting or buttering, frank was barely warm. The chili was HEAVY on cumin and pretty much overpowered everything, including the cheese. Chili cheese fries were a bit better, you could kind of thin out the chili and bring more balance to the cheese sauce. I ate these with a fork. I think if I visited again, I would go the burger route and get these for my chili cheese fix. Overall, I am glad to try an area staple, but it just wasn't my thing. At a place like this, there is surely a regular fan base that likes it exactly how it is, and I would never want to change that. Do your thing for them, it just wasn't my thing!

The grandson of the original owner sold the business in 2021, after of 80 years of ownership by the same family. Things have changes some, there is not the cozy feel of a family spot, none of the wait staffs that had been there for years remain, the replacement are mainly young and a bit distracted. The three main components that made the hot dog here great generally remain - great chili, soft buns, and Zack's made in house hot sauce. The dogs on this visit were very good, but I will get them to go in the future.
