My wife and I were in the area early, waiting for one of our cars to have an oil change completed. Decided we wanted to go grab a bite to eat and came across this place. When we got there, we were told it would be about a 10 minute wait to get a table, which was not a problem. Good thing we got there when we did because it started to get packed after we put our names on the waiting list. I started out with an iced caramel coffee to drink. It got the job done, and I could definitely taste the caramel syrup that they put in. For my entrée, I went with the combo plate... 2 pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. My wife likes to say that I am the pancake expert. I can be picky about how my pancakes are. I will say, these pancakes passed the test. They were very nice and fluffy. Along with the syrup, they melt in your mouth when eating. The eggs were very fluffy as well. A lot of places you go will sometimes overcook scrambled eggs, this place cooks them very well. The prices for meals here are unbeatable. I believe everything that I got in my combo plate was $10. So you get great bang for your buck when dining here. Wow! This place deserves all the hype. While the initial greeting was a bit rushed (a simple "dining in or takeout?" instead of a warm welcome), the phenomenal food completely made up for it. Seriously, the portions are HUGE! I ordered the meat lover's omelet with hashbrowns and cheese - I feel like it was easily a quarter-pound of deliciousness - and couldn't even finish it all. The omelet itself was perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor. This is a place that clearly knows how to make an omelet! The quality and quantity are both fantastic. When you think of typical diner food and restaurants the outside appearance doesn't say much except for the fact that the parking lot is packed! First clue that the food must be good. I like trying out as many of my favorites at once as possible. Eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, French toast. Eggs were light and fluffy, biscuits were a light cloud and buttery flaky and delicious with out the sausage gravy was that was a peppery thick and creamy. The service was amazing!!!! This was my first time going here. I was with a group of 7 people. It took them a few to get us seated. I ordered the southern burger. It was delicious and very well cooked. The fries that came with it were good but not really enough. Our server was very good. Kept us refilled and was checking on us regularly. Definitely worth your time going here. Love this little place in the heart of Burlington. I had some time one morning so I stopped in here and sat at the "bar" counter. Service is so friendly and attentive. The coffee cup stays full. Stopped here for lunch today with my toddler, husband (who was in uniform) and my mother. We placed our order quickly then the waitress never stopped to check on us even when our drinks were empty. 50 minutes later when the table next to us that got seated after us got their food, I flagged down the person that brought the food and asked where our food was. Another woman, not our waitress, came to tell us our waitress never submitted our order and they just submitted it. After 50 minutes of waiting she didn't even order to rush our food. We asked for it to go and finally the waitress came to apologize. We felt this was intentional because the waitress never made eye contact with us and ignored us. This place is not friendly toward law enforcement and service was awful. Somehow my toddler was still happy but only because we brought Cheerios. The food smelled good but the terrible experience ruined all our appetites. Also the booths were quite beat up so don't wear shorts and save your legs. read more

I'd seen pictures on this restaurant's Yelp page of the Cheeseburger served here, and I knew that I'd have to try that sucker at some point - and today at lunch was that point! We had dropped off some client info and were looking around for a spot for a nice early lunch that provided some variety, and Park's it was. They serve breakfast until at least Noon, have 2 or 3 lunch specials, a number of every day plates, Fried Seafood options, as well as burger, dogs, sandwiches, and salads. We settled on Spaghetti with Meat Sauce (with Garlic Bread and a Garden Salad for $6.50), and The Park Burger with FFs. The salad was out quickly, well sized, and very fresh tasting, enhanced greatly by the very nice dressing. The entrees followed quickly, and each was excellent. The Spaghetti was served in the typical restaurant manner, with the meat sauce spooned over the noodles, but not mixed. When I make it at home, I leave a very slight amount of pasta water in with the noodles and return them to the pot, and add a cup or so of the meat sauce to them, and mix well. Then I add more sauce once the noodles are plated - this helps get plenty of sauce on the noodles - noodles are nice, but sauce rules!. The meat sauce here is excellent - thick, meaty, with a nice tomato based taste - very much reminded Alice of the taste of her Mom's meat sauce. The garlic bread (Texas Toast style) was very nicely done, crunchy not soggy. The burger was just outstanding - the beef patties were well sized, then were perfectly cooked on the flat iron grill, with a nice, flavor enhancing outside crust forming. There was plenty of cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a perfectly sized kaiser bun. This is a very, very nice burger, and cost $6.29 with a nice side of Fries included. Folks can wildly chase the perfect, $12.50 "gourmet" burger (you know the one - grass fed, locally sourced, humanly slaughtered beef with a fat content of 5%; huge, flavor smothering brioche bun, or even better a PRETZEL bun; and a choices of weird toppings that includes everything but the cat's butt; and a side of Sweet Potato Fries to complete the experience) - me, I'll take this superb, diner style cheeseburger with the awesome flavor that the "gourmet", culinary train wreck will never come close too, and I'll use the cost saving to take home a nice slice of Chocolate Pie, which I did. The service was very nice, the food excellent, and the prices reasonable - and this is twice now, perhaps a pattern is developing. read more

We accidentally walked into the park about 15 min before closing. Once we realized this we offered to take our food to-go but the staff insisted that we stay and enjoy the food that was being brought out. Food came out FAST. Tried it for the first time yesterday and I have to say it was disappointing. Service was mediocre and my food arrived with cool eggs and home fries (which were not as requested). I did get replacement fries as we were leaving. Staff does have a " I don't give a cr@p attitude". They were two positive things, my wife enjoyed her Western omelet and the pancakes were very good. We hit "The Park" this morning for the first time. It was outstanding. It will not be our last! We both ordered the Hamburger steak and egg platter. We both normally like our beef rare, but never expect it to cooked that way at breakfast. Well, no it wasn't, It was delivered well done but was the tenderest, juiciest, flavorful well done hamburger steak I've ever had. ( turns out they will cook to order) Even the eggs were a higher quality than you find at most restaurants. I heard a lot of good things about the Park, so I finally tried and man, I hate that my experience wasn't that great. We walked in, this girl asked us how many people and she didn't ask my name or anything and just walked away. I wasn't sure what to do but I saw a couple of empty tables, so I just assumed we would get our table eventually. 5-10 minutes later, I keep looking around and that girl looked at me. She didn't say a word like follow me or whatever but I just understood her signal somehow and got our table. We got seated and this nice lady got our order. I gotta say, they are very good at refilling coffee. I think we waited almost 40 minutes for one waffle w/ eggs & french toasts w/ eggs and bacon. I probably had 10 cups of coffee while I was waiting on my food! Overall, this place was a bit slow, food was OK. The park is a delightful restaurant! They serve both breakfast and lunch, and both types of food are outstanding. I will typically either get the ribeye steak sandwich with onion rings, or a country ham and cheese omelette with a biscuit and gravy. Extremely disappointed that they stop serving breakfast at 12 noon on a SUNDAY! Brunch is something I look forward to on the weekends /after church and I feel robbed of this joy. I sat down at 1205 and my breakfast request was refused. I feel that any other small establishment should listen and be more attentive to their customers. Ended up eating here bc I was starving. Got the pattymelt. It was pretty good. But fries were a bit too salty. Server was nice. She explained that their grill is too small to maintain breakfast and lunch orders. Word of advice- upgrade your kitchen to accommodate both. Food seems pretty good, I think they'd benefit from extending brunch hours. Typical Greek diner without the enormous menu that most often accompanies them. Stopped in for lunch on Sunday and right away I could tell the locals love this place! It was crowded, it was HOT due to no AC, and it was obvious due to the interaction going on that the waitresses knew the diners. The inside is in need of some TLC, especially fixing the AC, and a little more creativity with the average tasting menu. Our large crowd got a variety of items ranging from the Park Burger, Spaghetti with meat sauce, Cheesesteak, and Chicken Souvlaki. The burger was good but kind of a messy burger. The cheesesteak was actually spot on and very meaty. The spaghetti was average canned sauce with a lot of ground meat added to it. The souvlaki was decent skewers with pretty tasty chicken. The sides of Greek salad was excellent, but the fried squash was the typical frozen bag of breaded squash you'll find at any Greek diner. All of this says that the locals are going to love this place, while someone looking for diner food that's a bit more creative will not! If for no other reason than....it's hot in there! read more
