I'm telling you, don't judge this book by its cover! When you first pull up to this place, it's not the most aesthetically pleasing looking location. The first time we went it was pretty packed so we had to wait. They got through the parties before us very quickly and we were able to be seated in a good amount of time from waiting. They have a very large menu with many good options that anyone can find something they'd like to try. Something that caught my eye was the skillet entrées that they serve. I went with the south of the border skillet. This includes Chorizo, home potatoes, jalapeños, green peppers, onions, eggs, avocado, and mixed cheese. I mean... what a combination of items! This was great! The potatoes were cooked to be nice and soft, the chorizo had excellent flavor, and the jalapeños were the perfect amount of spicy kick that took this skillet over the top. It's also supposed to come with a side of beans. As a guy who doesn't eat beans a lot, I asked them could I substitute for a different side and they suggested that I get their rice. This was very good as well. We were constantly checked on, drinks were refilled all the time even with asking and very well taken care of. The prices are very reasonable. Uggghh.For the life of me I don't understand what the other reviewers found redeeming about this filth hole. Old carpet dingy and misleading menu! The omelets state clearly they are served with toast and pancakes and a side! That is an outright lie and I don't do well with that! Prices are a lot for what you get and this dirty run down place. After my son's baseball game we came in here to grab a bite to eat. It looks a little sketchy on the outside but it's super cute inside and I love all of the real plants! We ordered our food and everything arrived hot and delicious. Prices are very affordable and the portion sizes are good. The food I had was spaghetti and it was as good as homemade and there was way more than I could eat so when I was done eating I asked for a to go box and took my leftovers home for lunch or another meal. My first experience was great. Subsequent visits not quite. Especially to go orders....check everything before you leave the restaurant. Make sure you check the meat in your burger was cooked as specified. Burritos filled with everything -looked great- but no flavor. They need to season. They are busy--so that might explain it. A friend invited me on an adventure to try this restaurant and we were super excited and scared all in once. It's an old motel/hotel building. Inside cozy and warm. May I say, We can't wait to go again!! The staff was very welcoming, friendly, the service was outstanding and the food HOT, delicious and made perfectly. Our first visit and I'm not 100% sold. I tried the biscuits and gravy - very bland. I tried the potato soup - very bland. My husband had an omelette and pancakes. The hamburger steak I had was good but the star of the show was the fried squash which was epic! The hash brown casserole was tasty as well. My wife and I were visiting a dear old friend when we realized we needed to get lunch. Our friend recommended this restaurant, and we were so happy she did! My wife had the pot roast while I chose to get the homemade meat loaf with mashed potatoes and collards. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our server, Carla, was so very friendly and kind. Everything here was very mid level. Nothing was bad, the biscuit was definitely dry. Very dry. The hashbrowns needed some oil or butter. The facility is ok looking but looks really beat up from the outside. The service was fine and they keep the coffee full. After reading the positive reviews, I decided to try it but I was disappointed. The breakfast menu is very limited. I asked if I could get the breakfast combo without the meat. The server said, yes, and then proceeded to charge me for the other items a la carte (and the prices were not posted). We were not given napkins, oleo (no butter here), or creamer (no dairy here). I had to get up and go search for them myself because there was no server or staff member in sight. No refills for tea. In my mind it was very overpriced compared to other breakfast restaurants in the area. I paid 3 times what it costs me in another local restaurant that has excellent food and service. The ambience was nice, loved the music and plants, we love when we feel welcomed in small restaurants since we are people of color there have been times we feel out of place and get looks from others but here not at all the server ask how many and we were 8 so we had to wait around 8ish minutes for a table but ended up with two booths near each which was fine with us. Historically slow slow slow, when it comes to weekends. The place is pretty small only about twenty tables. The food is good but it will take a long while. Here is our scenario, we got there and had a "10" minute wait that turned into almost double that. We sat at 1104 and our order was taken within three minutes of sitting down but it took over 27 minutes to get our food. I would just say it is not a place to go if you are in a hurry.
