Steak and egg platter, with home fries, grits and choice of bread. They give so much food!

Good food and service every time! This local gem serves your typical breakfast and lunch. When they're not super busy, you walk in and seat yourself. I'm a bit of a regular at this point and they know I love to start my meal off with some coffee. I've gotten their breakfast platters, omelets, and tried their lunch items at one point. Food looks simple but has been very solid. Servers always ask if you need any condiments and always keep the coffee flowing. I recommend this place to anybody who happen to cross into town.

Affordable breakfast in Mebane Area. When lots of people eat at one place only means its really good. Simple Dining experience but well worth the buck!

Great place! Plenty of parking that morning. The food options were excellent. Our food came out fast and it was delicious. Really good breakfast with my daughter. We enjoyed it. Coffee was fresh and a light/médium roast which was exactly how I like it. We will certainly go back. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the waitress could've been a bit more friendly.

This place used to be our Saturday morning go to place. Then Covid happened and we hadn't been back. We actually thought it closed permanently and then drove past one day and saw people in there. Its pretty small on the inside so accommodating our group of 9 was tough but they put some tables together and managed. The only problem is we were right under the AC vent. With 5 small kids in our group we had to deal with them being cold the whole meal. Some of their food has changed as well. Usually their breakfast sausage is really good as a side but the links don't taste great now. The pancakes taste like you can make from a box you buy at the store. The eggs and hashbrowns were good. My wife enjoyed her breakfast sandwich but the biscuit was crumbling. A heads up drinks are not included in meals. So when we ordered the kids meals we ended up paying separately for the drinks, this made our bill much higher than we thought and for 2 kids meals and 2 adults it ended up being $40. For the quality it was not worth that much. It makes me kind of sad how much different it is now because it was our favorite breakfast place.

Great service and delicious chicken salad on a big bed of lettuce and tomato. The hush puppies are great too!

First, Jim is definitely a local joint. Very small restaurant with maybe four or five tables. Service was pretty prompt and they seem to have a really good relationship with the locals as several people in the restaurant seem to be pretty familiar with the people behind the counter. Definitely a good sign in my book. Locals don't usually frequent a spot just for the conversation. I am immediately headed over to Jim's to try it out. And I wasn't disappointed. I ended up ordering the Mexican hotdog and the cheeseburger. The Mexican hotdog was wrapped in bacon with relish, jalapeño, and a couple of other nontraditional items that you would not find a Sonoran style dog. The dog was also a bit on the small side, but it hit the spot. The cheeseburger basket was less than $10 overall so don't expect a huge portioned burger. However, the burger was good, and the fries were hot and plentiful. My favorite thing was the frozen lemonade. A bit on the sweet side, but definitely hit the spot on a 90° day driving in a Bronco with the top down. If I lived in the area, this would probably be one of my favorite junk food spots.

I had occasion to be in Burlington at lunch one day recently, and decided I needed to stop in. Zack's definitely fits that "area establishment" vibe, and people were coming in and out quickly... now I see why. They get you moving fast! I share John C's thoughts: Within about 15 seconds, a gentleman asked what we wanted. We had barely gotten the menu out when he said, "We have hamburgers and hot dogs. Hot dogs come with chili, onions, and slaw." Unlike John C I opted for chili cheese fries, because I am a glutton for punishment, but otherwise, got the hot dogs the same way, but add cheese. Food was out in a flash, and like John, i kind of wish more care was put into it to up the quality. I don't need my stuff lightning fast. Anyhow, just to be honest, I didn't care for the overall flavor of anything in particular. The hot dog franks and bun were pretty average, no toasting or buttering, frank was barely warm. The chili was HEAVY on cumin and pretty much overpowered everything, including the cheese. Chili cheese fries were a bit better, you could kind of thin out the chili and bring more balance to the cheese sauce. I ate these with a fork. I think if I visited again, I would go the burger route and get these for my chili cheese fix. Overall, I am glad to try an area staple, but it just wasn't my thing. At a place like this, there is surely a regular fan base that likes it exactly how it is, and I would never want to change that. Do your thing for them, it just wasn't my thing!

The grandson of the original owner sold the business in 2021, after of 80 years of ownership by the same family. Things have changes some, there is not the cozy feel of a family spot, none of the wait staffs that had been there for years remain, the replacement are mainly young and a bit distracted. The three main components that made the hot dog here great generally remain - great chili, soft buns, and Zack's made in house hot sauce. The dogs on this visit were very good, but I will get them to go in the future.

For dinner, I had the Johnson Club, onion rings, and sweet tea. The club was and still is one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The amount of protein is plentiful, and the addition of the egg puts this over the top. The restaurant is a bakery so the bread used for the sub is soft and fresh. The onion rings were hot, had the perfect amount of crisp and they were not soggy like other places I've been to. Overall, I left with nostalgia and I am definitely looking forward to coming back! Customer Service: Upon arrival, the waitresses welcomed me in and invited me to sit anywhere. I was promptly tended to and my waitress was soooooo friendly!!! It's the southern charm and politeness I miss the most about North Carolina and neighboring areas. Already knowing the sandwich I wanted, I took her advice between the fries and onion rings and she didn't steer me wrong! I appreciate her work ethic and making sure that everyone in the dining room had what they needed and helping a few others (some first timers!) decide on what they wanted. Ambiance: This place is casual, and intimate in a way. It's not a huge space but it's big enough for multiple groups to enjoy lunch or small families to have a sit-in dinner. I highly recommend this place as a stop on any commute between Charlotte and the Research Triangle Area.

One negative, otherwise great pizza, seating, restrooms etc…read more Everything is self-serve, when at cash register giving order and paying with card it asked for custom tip, 18%, and higher! This is a serve yourself, clear the table like a McDonalds. Requesting a tip upfront before receiving pizza and being self serving restaurant I found this over and above. Someone brings pizza to table when cooked. Otherwise it's on you. I spoke with the cashier about this and he said it was the owners thing. Seems like money grabbing to me to pay the bills. I think this will chill more customers than is worth it. Maybe not, maybe just me‍

Tons of great drinks from the usual sodas in cans and bottles to some really cool imported sodas, beer and ciders. They also have a fountain with Puck's sodas which I tried and my husband chose a local beer from one of the coolers. The service was very friendly. Orders are taken at the counter and they brought our food to our table. We ordered off the specials menu so no guarantee the items we got will be available when you go. Everything sounded delicious and given this place has a reputation for being busy I would feel confident ordering anything knowing it is going to be great. I really enjoyed the whole vibe here. I will have to make it a point to come back again. It's about a 45 min drive from Winston but the drive is so beautiful it's totally worth it.

It's our go-to when we're usually too exhausted to make dinner. The menu is huge and somehow everything I've tried is always SO GOOD. Like there are no weak spots?! Some solid favs my family has loved: linguine alfredo, bratwurst, fish and chips, brisket, chicken avocado salad (this might be my fav and it's HUGE), ANY sandwich (favs are the Italian and the duck bacon turkey club), and the pizza! Kids pasta is a fav of one of my kids and a super good deal. The cakes are also sooooo good (but year a little pricey at $8). Great beer selection, we usually just grab something in stock to take home. The kitchen is closed from 4-5PM (I'm usually calling in at 5:01 haha). The staff is so nice! I will say, once in a while, their estimated times can be way off. I'm okay with that though, the food is worth it. One other thing to be mindful of: On big event days (like when there is a show at the Haw River Ballroom), they run a limited menu. They also have had limited menu days in the past when they do seafood events, but I haven't run into that problem in a while. Just maybe check their Instagram.
