Half the restaurant is empty and yet there's a 50 minute wait for a table
    Kristen R.

We've been here a couple times and each time the wait and service has gotten substantially worse. Unfortunately, the restaurant is significantly UNDER staffed in the kitchen and serving staff. Apparently, you can place your name on a call ahead list but I won't be back until they are able to minimally provide sufficient servicen to their patrons.

I have kind of a love hate relationship with Biscuit and Hogs. Love the cheap happy hour drinks. $1 beers (all beers)! Hate the overpriced, non-happy hour cocktails. Very mediocre and expensive. Love the friendliness of the servers. Hate that they are either so new or busy that you barely see them. Love the different atmospheres: dining room, bar, patio. Hate that they are all sooo loud. Love the happy hour food, especially the shrimp tacos. Have heard bad things about all the other food. I still need to try, and so am giving B&Hs the benefit of the doubt. 5* for happy hour, 3* for other times.

I don't know what other people are talking about, this was an amazing experience. The food was top notch and the service was warm, friendly, and fast. Angela was one of the best servers I've had in a while and her recommendations ensured I had the best breakfast I've had out in a while. The only thing I will say is if you're gonna order the pancakes, they are literally the size of a pizza. Do with that information what you will.

Food came out so fast! Got the poutine and short rib sandwich which were both delicious. Definitely salty food but tasted great.

Pro tip: Get on the wait list before you arrive! Massive portions! Service is hit or miss. Expect more pricy menu items but easy to share due to the size. For reference, a waffle or pancake to go is in a pizza box, it's that big!

This Griddle is located at McMillan and 10 Mile, in the same shopping center as The Broken Yolk. Tucked in the corner, it has lots of windows, providing a nice view of trees and grass from the inside. There is also an outdoor patio that looked inviting. The inside is much the same as the other locations. High ceiling, a mixture of booths around the perimeter and tables on the main floor. There is counter seating as well. I'm not sure about the other locations, but this Griddle has the sound dampener squares in the ceiling that, in my opinion, probably keep the noise level down and make it easier to talk. This morning, Thursday, it was seat yourself. We chose a booth toward the back. Our server, Valeria, was excellent. She kept our water glasses filled and a warm up of my coffee before it got below 3/4. She was nice and attentive. A great server. My wife had eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, and toast. I had the Veggie Lovers omelet, hashbrowns, and toast. My wife enjoyed her entree, and I tried the maple sausage and it was tasty. We both ordered our hashbrowns crispy, and the top was nice and brown. My omelet was just OK for me. a few artichoke hearts on top, with spinach, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes inside. The onions were chopped into fairly large chunks, which I don't really care for. I felt it lacked flavor, despite me salting it, twice, and putting salsa on top (not spicy). They give you one piece of toast, which I actually like, because I don't need to eat too much bread. I don't think I'd order that omelet again. All in all, my first visit to this Griddle was very nice and we will certainly be back.

I had the Chicken and Waffle Benedict and can I just say... WOW. The chicken wasn't overly breaded; it was perfectly light and crispy. The waffles were nice and fluffy, and the hash browns were crisp just how I like them. I came with my neighbors, and they were just as happy with their meals. We also tried the mimosa flights with different juices, and they were so delightful! They have two different options, so I tried one and my neighbor tried the other. Let's just say they had us feeling great after. If you're looking for a breakfast spot to catch up with friends or family, this is the spot. Try it -- you'll love it!

I'm not really in favor of having to give your cell phone number to feed into their app so you know when your table is ready, but there you have it. The inside is pretty cool if you are into that "converted warehouse" feel of exposed beam crossed with a country kitchen feel. Tables aren't crammed together, definitely a sense of space. There are booth options as well. And as I prefer, no TVs. There were 2 groups of 14 that were served during our visit, so they can definitely accommodate larger parties. Our server rarely checked in, took 10 minutes to refill coffee after we requested a top off (she forgot), and never ended up refilling out water. The coffee we did get was good though. As always, I'm a hollandaise connoisseur as the foundation for perfect Benedict - my go to breakfast item. So I asked for a sample before I ordered, and I'm glad I did. The Griddle's hollandaise was curious. It was clearly about 25-50% powdered mix (which tastes like nasty beef gravy) with the balance being added clarified butter and a very strong dose of lemon. It was marginal, but good enough. So, I went with the crab cake Benedict. The crab cakes were a bit "fishy," so the strong lemon flavor was a plus. After flagging down our server, I requested a new poached egg as one of them arrived hard boiled. (I want runny yolks as hard boiled are too chalky for my taste.) The replacement egg was delivered very quickly. My guest had the banana Texas french toast special with added bacon and scrambled eggs. Bacon was nice and thick, nicely cooked. Scrambled eggs are pretty much just that. The french toast did have great body to it, but I'm not a huge banana fan. Still enjoyed it though. I would consider this an option for a revisit.

There was confusion with my order at pickup--despite having already paid through the First Watch website, the staff reportedly told my DoorDash driver that the order hadn't been paid for and initially refused to release it. I had to call the restaurant myself to sort it out, which delayed the delivery. When the order finally arrived, it was missing an item I paid for (the Million Dollar Bacon). I called the restaurant again to report it, but there was no apology or clear resolution offered. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and disappointing, especially given that the order was prepaid and should have been straightforward. I'm hoping this was a one-time issue, but better communication and order accuracy would go a long way in improving the customer experience.

The funny thing is, we were actually on the other end of the street for dessert and decided we needed something savory for dinner (not just ice cream). So, we wandered on over to Rare Steakhouse. The atmosphere is somehow both very laid back and Idaho-upscale. If you know, you know. The staff was incredibly friendly and we were tucked into a corner where we could watch the Boise State game on TV. No major appetizers on this trip but I did ask for my clam chowder to come out first. And ya'll...this is the best clam chowder I've had in the area. I honestly was not expecting to like it as much as I did. Highly recommend! My husband and I shared the prime rib and it was also very tasty--and a good cut, too! Easily enough for both of us with a few yummy potato sides. The only reason for knocking it down a star... The water was kind of weird. Our waitress assured us it was triple-filtered but it had an off-putting taste to me. If we're ever in the area again, I'd honestly probably bring a water bottle. Nonetheless, the food was the star and that's the most important thing.
