$12.14 chicken tenders with visibly burnt breading. Unseasoned, bland, yet tender chicken. 2oz of honey mustard sauce tasted typical but nowhere near enough to cover the taste of the burnt breading. Disappointing. Had potential to be good but fell solidly short. To be fair, the piece on the left was double the size of what is presented in the photo.
Rarely am I compelled to write a review on Yelp unless the place exceeds expectations or falls short. This location is in the latter category. Ordered on DoorDash a deluxe chicken sandwich with waffle fries and a side of ranch. Besides screwing up the order (received a normal sandwich with no coleslaw) the amount of chicken in the sandwich is for lack of a better term, pathetic. The chicken was dry and virtually non existent. The sandwich comprised of entirely burnt batter with very little chicken inside. I'm not sure if they could legally call this a chicken sandwich. The side of ranch (which they charge $1.50 for; I know, DoorDash overcharges) was enough to consume with one waffle fry. I appreciate Bird-N-Bun looking out for my calorie intake but I would have appreciated a full container of ranch, especially when I'm paying for it. In hindsight the small portion was a blessing in disguise as the ranch was rather bland. The waffle fries were the only decent thing on this order. I have no complaints there. Overall a very poor experience.
If you order from these guys through Uber eats and it goes to the location at 615 North Western, a cloud kitchen, you can forget about getting your order in a reasonable time. I was told that the delays are up to 45 minutes. I don't know about other locations, but if your order ends up at this location, forget it!
That was nasty. Looked for hot chicken within 5 min of house; next time, we'll drive. Checked out this place that seemed sketchy on Goigle/Yelp, yet people had reviewed it. It has two names; one on Google, another on Yelp. I like my Baby's initial response, "On Daisy? It can't be good." But he trusts me and my unique talent to search out deliciousness. I tried to warm him that's not what I was feeling this time, so much as laziness. So, we drive up to an innovative warehouse space. Food pick-up drivers are grabbing dishes from food lockers. Meanwhile, walk-ups (us) order from a kiosk. Kiosk has about 20 restaurants and their menus within. 5 stars for innovation. After this, it goes downhill. Place has a few tables and chairs for eating, but area seems sketchy for evening dining. Service is engaging, so plus there. I saw operation...Commercial refrigerator; each restaurant seems to have a door. So...fresh frozen heated up, maybe? Well, our sandwiches were 1) greasy, 2) missing slaw on one, 3) bread, 4) same heat, even though we ordered differently. Fries were good.
Please aware that your pick up or delivery orders are cooked inside this closed warehouse under unknown food quality control. This warehouse does not have sign of food rating. Furthermore, what you receive is different from what you see on Bird N Bun website. You are buying a food prepared by Uber and DoorDash workers at their kitchen. It is very disappointing. This yelp rating is misleading.
Bird-N-Bun is a go-to and I absolutely love the sandwiches. The chicken is fried perfectly and juicy, whether you order original, spicy or deluxe. The loaded fries are very good, but the fries themselves are kind of whatever in terms of flavor but with everything else going on they kind of get away with it. Would be awesome if they loaded the original and spicy sandwiches with coleslaw like most other fried chicken sandwich places, so 4 stars for poor fry quality and having to pay extra for something that comes standard most other fried chicken places. Delivery is always fast, which is awesome when your hungry in a pinch. It's a ghost kitchen so there's not much in terms of ambiance, but the service is usually good if you go to pickup.
Placed my order online and away i go! This chicken joint is located at the daily diner long beach on daisy. I love trying the different places here which has over 30+ vendors which is amazing with more to come. Pretty good chicken here. Got the SPICY tenders and let me remind you it's spicy as hell. Next time the original only! The tender were good though and the waffle fries was seasoned well also. And the spicy bird sauce was excellent. Soda only were like $3.00 for a can which is pretty high for a location like this. I would come back again.
A TRUE happy accident. On our way back to Orange County I was looking up just any type of fast food type of spots. The very first place with great reviews were Bird - n - bun. When we pulled up I have to admit it was a little confusing. I didn't quite understand what they were going for. But I assume because of covid they changed up their whole set up. We were able to order on iPad for a handful of spots and wait for our order to be placed in a locker for pick up, for essentially contactless pickUp. I landed on Bird-n-Bun, I saw that they had amazing looking chicken sandwiches, fries and sides. My eyes immediately landed on the vegetarian bird. A vegetarian twist on their classic chicken sandwich. So I thought to my self, challenge accepted. When I tell you, the taste, the presentation, the consistency, the flavors down the very last crumb were amazing. I didn't miss the chicken aspect of this chicken sandwich and I for sure wasn't lacking any type of spice or flavor. Be sure to add the fries, they are hot and seasoned well!
With COVID / social distancing concerns being the new normal it was interesting to come across this restaurant with that business plan already set to go. But would this place with the absence of server-to-customer relationship still provide the experience and flavors to warrant a return? The answer is yes! At first I wondered why is the price so expensive as I pressed my own buttons to own order and pick up my own bag of food from a very impersonal locker. But their cha-ching is in the super juicy and crunchy piece of chicken with a flavor sauce worth the price. It's definitely worth getting the spicy bird as it's not "spicy"...
I'm always in the search for the beat chicken sandwich. Today's choice was Burd-N-Bun. It's a local place for a Long Beach foodie like me. Before I rate the food, let's talk service, location and price. Service is zero contact. You order online and pay online. Pick up and that's it. Very convenient for covid. Location is obscured. Low key. But very well lit at night and always someone there. Price was well worth it. I spent almost $100 to feed my party of 5. We ordered 5 sandwiches, 5 waffle fries, two orders of tenders and 5 drinks. Now, food: chicken sandwiches proper. No complaints. No big impressions either. Almost basic. But good. If that makes sense. Waffle fries were well seasoned and good texture. Tenders were a nice size. A little bland for me, but good. Their house sauce or comeback sauce whatever, was probably the worst sauce I've ever had lol not a complaint. But seriously, not getting that again. Major Downside is paying $2.50 for a canned beverage. It was worth a try, but not coming back. Want a better sandwich, try my other reviews.
It had been a while since my last visit, and I was craving a bomb fried chicken sandwich. I recalled last time thinking the bird sauce needed a bit more "oomph" so I ordered a side of the spicy bird sauce as well. Alone, the kick from the spicy sauce might upset my stomach after a few bites. But in combination with the regular bird side? Perfection, baby! I like that they aren't stingy with the pickles. I opted out of their waffle fries this time since I had some yummy potato salad waiting for me in the fridge. But those fries... *drool* The chicken tenders are also bomb here. Nice big pieces of white meat chicken, nice and juicy on the inside and great with many dipping sauces. I like this shared kitchen location. So many options to choose from (still got many more I haven't tried). I've noticed a trend with already 5 of the places having that round sticker with their brand on it. I finally tried Bird-N-Bun via Ubereats and I had an okay experience. My boyfriend and I both had the same thing; an order of waffles fries and the spicy bird with pepper jack cheese and bacon. We also got a few different sauces such as ranch, bird sauce and the spicy bird sauce. I enjoyed both bird sauces but prefer the spicier version. Onto the food, the waffles fries are literally Carls Jr. waffle fries but on steroids. They tasted fluffy and yet still had that nice little crunch to them. The sandwich on the other hand was just decent to me. It wasn't bad but it just didn't leave much of a long lasting impression on me. Though the texture was good, I personally felt that the food was just a little too overly salty for my liking. Overall I don't hate Bird-N-Bun but I'm not sure if I'd be back. 3/5 read more

Absolutely horrible and disgusting. Fried chicken was overcooked to the point it was burnt. Waffle fries were overcooked and too hard to even bite. Also, how do you FORGET to put your own SIGNATURE SAUCE on the sandwich? They really sent me some dry burnt chicken and bread without their own branded sauce. They did however put the pickles on there which I requested to be left off. Also, I paid extra for sides of ranch and did not receive them. They literally got every single part of the order wrong. Avoid this place at all costs, I wouldn't even eat this if I was starving. read more

I like how soft the buns are. The spicy chicken sandwich was pretty good with pepper jack cheese and the waffle fries were a bit stale. This neighborhood is a little sketch. The food packaging is basic. I would order from this place again. I do recommend to try it at least once. read more

Found this place through Instagram. They were advertising $5 sandwiches, so why not? The area was little sketchy. Very industrial like. Parking is through an alley. The sandwiches are pretty meaty. A great deal for $5, but I wouldn't pay more than that. This is nothing like a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I would compare it more to Popeyes chicken sandwich or maybe Chick-fil-A. I would come back for more only if there are more promos/deals read more

They do a yummy chicken sandwich and their spicy seasoning is delicious. A simple meal with pretty standard coleslaw. Order from daisy diner and although the food was delicious, on this particular day, it took about 40 minutes to review my order. Hoping they aren't always that backed up. read more

O M G 26 business kitchens...in an beat up alley (tires), homeless dodging (she was literally reaching inside putting blue duct tape inside my car window), confused direction drive thru (cars were coming from east and west inhibiting a clear path smooth exit...with a parking lot a half block east in said alley). I have NEVER been SO confused and SO disturbed by unclear directions, deceiving texts (order ready 45min early only to wait 45 min upon arrival), and pittsy serving size, no alley security! I don't even receive Amazon packages in a closet! Let alone good! I will take my to a trustworthy establishment, which is what I thought I was doing. read more

This is a ghost kitchen. The food looks and tastes like dining hall/cafeteria food. The chicken and waffles and loaded fries were definitely not worth 30 dollars. They weren't terrible, it's just not worth the money. It's like Dennys but with smaller portions. read more

Their spicy chicken sandwhich is like a fancier version of Nashville fried chicken. The quality of the chicken meat is good. The meat isn't dried and is tender enough. I am actually quite surprised that even with delivery, the chicken remains still crunchy even when it's cold. The sandwhich is large, but the chicken is larger than the bun. It has enough spicy kick in the flavor, and you won't notice it until you bite into the middle of the sandwhich. I'm a fan of this fried chicken sandwich. The delivery was also pretty quick. read more

I'm writing this review with dirty hands from that fucking delicious bird sauce. Let me say Bird-n-buns is the most delicious place I've ever ordered from. I had them two days in a row now and I'm set on making this a regular purchase. Don't even think, just do it. I swear this chefs getting his dick sucked before making any meal because I've never tasted something as delicious as Chef of Bird-n-buns chicken sandwiches! The passion behind this chef shows in his cooking. Ooooh just do it!!! read more
Wow! Soo good and soo juicy. This was my first time ever trying it and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The deluxe bird chicken sandwich was on point. The chicken was tender, not dry at all, good flavor and perfectly crispy. The coleslaw, pretty refreshing and adds that needed color to the sandwich. I really liked the mustard pickles. The "secret dressing" was pretty good! The bread was well toasted and not hard or crunchy at all--I bet it would taste amazing if they used Hawaiian buns! Omg. If they had an upgrade charge for Hawaiian buns I would definitely pay extra! Still, good tastin' buns! Lastly, the waffle fries were okay, I don't think I would get them again since the flavor wasn't really there for me, also I didn't like the consistency of the fries once you bite them. Super easy to order, you go in, there are signs and a kiosk touch screen to other from, you then input your phone number and you get an alert when ready for pickup. Honestly, for how big the sandwich is, you are getting a good deal! I ended up saving half of it for later because I got full after a few bites and with the fries. Totally recommend! read more

Bird-N-Bun is the perfect place to grab some grub! Their sandwiches have generous portions of chicken that are fried to perfection! Ordering is also super simple via their website or App. It's super easy to customize your sandwiches with or without sauce or pickles. They even send a text when your order is ready to be picked up. Easy peasy! Go out and give these guys a try, you won't be disappointed! FYI : Marshmallow Bar in the dessert menu is pretty much a Rice Krispy treat. read more
Absolutely fantastic. Ordered thru Grubhub and everything came out just as expected, which rarely happens to be honest. They followed the directions so well, which is hard to find that these days. Now that I have tried this place via online, I am looking forward to check it out in person.. Rating : 4.7 / 5. I even tried calling to let them know how good the food was. I couldn't find a phone number to reach out to them. May be next time. This place truly deserves it. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu. read more

Always looking for an adventure, we loaded up the fam and placed an online pick up order en route to a new place for chicken sandwiches. Online ordering was VERY easy. Not having an idea what type of location we were looking for, and a confused GPS, we drove down the alley past the pick up door twice before understanding the "PICK UP HERE" sign was our destination! We never saw one note that we'd arrived at Bird-n-Bun. Into a door, through another door to a pick up window. We knew it wasn't a restaurant, no seating, and they discourage pick up, strongly suggesting Postmates delivery. But looking past the friendly lady at the window, we could see what appeared to be a very clean test kitchen area. Our food was ready, as promised, and everything in our 3 big bags (for 7 people) was correct. Plated the food at home and dug in. Man, it's AMAZING! We had one holdout, a picky eater, so we just put him in a closet. The sandwiches are huge begging the question "where do they get those chickens?" The slaw was perfect, beware the sauce might be a little spicy for some. I had to pause and drink every couple of bites but I couldn't stop eating it. I ate about 1/2 before I had to call it, wrapping the other 1/2 up for dinner, but I think everyone else ate their entire sandwich. Soft bun; it was a perfect sandwich. And the fries are notable as well, crunchy outside, soft inside. There are so many chicken places now, Chick-Fil-A, Raising Cane's, all fast food chains, but Bird-N-Bun nailed it. It's appealingly different. Great sauce. And very reasonably priced. It's worth the trip, down a dark alley, through an unmarked door. You won't be disappointed in this (really) hidden gem. read more

I won't say how many times I've ordered since this place opened, but ordered again, and this time a few extras for my co-workers to try. Many of them are loyal chick fil a followers and I knew an endorsement from them would guarantee more business for this new spot so that they'll be around for a long time. They were blown away! Fried chicken tenders barely fix in the container, and was flowing outside the bun. The chicken was super crunchy and the meat was juicy and flavorful, as it always is. I think the owners recognized me after having ordered so many times, so I was surprised to see a few extra cookies in there even though I didn't order them. It may just be because they're new, but feels good to know the business owner is paying attention to every ticket, controlling the quality and integrity of the product! Keep it up guys! read more

The hype machine strikes again! Got my BOGO today and the verdict is in.... meh. Don't get me wrong, this is a much better sandwich than any you can get at a fast food chain and you can tell they use real hand breaded chicken and homemade sauces. The problem is that the sandwich is nothing special. It's the kind of sandwich that you won't regret having once in awhile but you won't go out of your way for one. I'm sure they're super busy right now since they just opened, so I'd give it another shot in a month or so. But for me, the flavor just wasn't anything to write home about. Side note... the real winner was the chocolate chip cookie... just not for $3. The champion in Long Beach remains Cluck and Blaze. read more
