Stopped in to try the baked goods. Tried the brown butter mochi donut, black sesame rice krispy, ube cinnamon roll and passion fruit and creme brûlée malasades. The brown butter mochi donut was not what I expected as it wasn't a donut but more of a bar. It had the consistency of mochi with a chocolate topping. It was not very sweet which was nice but also there was not much of a brown butter flavor. I would not order it again. The ube cinnamon roll had a wonderful ube flavor to it. The cinnamon roll itself was unfortunately was not super soft. If not for the texture this would have been up there with my favorite given the great ube flavor. The black sesame rice krispy treat was really good. The black sesame flavor was very prevalent and the rice krispy was soft, gooey and chewey. The star of the desserts was the passionfruit malasades. The passion fruit was my favorite as the curd had a strong passionfruit flavor that was citrusy and bright. The texture of the malsades was nice and airy and sugar coated. The creme brûlée malasades had a nice crunchy sugar shell just like a creme brûlée however the flavor was not very strong. Overall the desserts here are quite tasty and they have unique asian flavors.

Really cool breakfast spot and loved the farmhouse vibes and decor inside! There were a couple of tables and luckily we snagged a table without an issue. You walk in and order with the cashier. There are so many options of baked goods, I wish I had the appetite to try them all! We ordered the ube sticky bun, char siu bun, and the breakfast sandwich. The savory dishes were fresh and tasty! The ube sticky bun was our favorite! The ube inside was super authentic and delicious. Cant wait to come back for more!

Quick Service, Very Cozy Atmosphere, Delicious Pastries and Breakfast. The house congee and ube french toast were so delicious. I want to come back and try more of their sweets!

I asked her for some recommendations and she suggested one of the frozen drinks. I'm so glad she did because I have been craving it ever since! They have a few frozen drinks to choose from, but I went with the cold brew + hazelnut truffle. It's made with housemade hazelnut milk, cold brew, cacao, frozen bananas, housemade coconut caramel, maple syrup, vanilla, and seasalt. Trust me-- it is just as heavenly as it sounds! I forgot to get photos of it because I drank it so quickly--sorry! The space is so cute inside and it's in a fun area to wander around, right in the heart of Lincoln Square. Can't wait to come back!

That brownie I had was delicious and actually satisfying for a sweet tooth like me! The rose latte was enjoyable and once again, they had gluten-free bread to offer for the sandwiches/paninis. Not only that, they are actually a dollar less than the regular one because they say it's smaller. Less - you read that right. Anywhere else they up-charge for the gluten-free version, even if it's just frozen Udi's. It wasn't so here! Note: their savory stuffed pastries like the spinach ones and potato ones aren't gluten-free because they're brought in by another vendor.

The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

We were looking for a nice, sit-down cafe and there are a decent number of tables but almost all of them were occupied so seating was limited and it was hard to really settle in comfortably. The drinks were fine (although a bit pricey) and they did take a while to come out (it was crowded but most of the people already had their drinks). There was also a slight mix up where one of the drinks was missed which was eventually resolved, but again, added to the overall wait and slightly disorganized feel of the visit. Nothing was really bad, but nothing stood out either. It just felt a bit overwhelmed by the volume of people compared to the space and speed of service. Decent drinks and nice decor but long wait times and limited seating made the experience less enjoyable than it could've been.

First Sip is a bespoke cafe with dark walls, art and many china cups in a dynamic sculpture. The baked items have some light Asian influences and has a wide coffee list. We ordered two lattes and a couple of baked goods. We then sat down and waited, and waited, and waited and waited. I got up to find out where our drinks were and they finally arrived. We waited some more and then went up to ask where our baked goods were and they weere like "oh we forgot" and I asked them to heat up one of the items. We then waited and waited and finally gave up. When I got up to remind them, they shrugged as the item in the oven was pulled out and sat there until it was cold. We asked them to put it in a bag. Now there were two servers and not many people. We are fairly mellow but this experience was totally unacceptable. We will never go back to this cafe.

It was better than I ever expected! There are about a million pastry options, first of all, which is the BEST! No shortage of sweet or savory options here. Second, the coffee menu was also awesome! I got a creamsicle iced something or another and it was soooo yummy. My boyfriend was very jazzed for a geisha coffee pour over and drank it with his pinky up of course because, fancy. The ambiance was PHENOMMMM truly can't get over the vibe. Every detail inside this place was so carefully curated and well thought out, it was stunning. Everywhere I looked I couldn't stop admiring something, from a sconce to a tabletop color to a bonsai. Everything was stunning. It was also so much bigger than I expected! I loved that there were so many different rooms and different seating options. In chatting with a team member, they offered us a little tour which was really the cherry on top. My boyfriend got to share his joy and knowledge of coffee and get a behind the scenes look at how they do what they do. Thank you, Milli by Metric! We truly can't wait to come back!

There was already a small line of guests with the same idea, but we were able to get on the waitlist. While waiting, we checked out the small coffee shop inside the gallery and browsed the furniture, which helped pass the time. Our wait was about an hour before being escorted to our table in the courtyard. Initially, we were placed at a low coffee table with couch seating. It's a cool lounge style setup, especially for drinks, but not ideal for a meal. It would have been pretty awkward trying to eat comfortably. We asked to be moved and were told that table preferences should be requested when joining the waitlist. Since it was my first time visiting, I wasn't aware of that, and it also wasn't asked by the hostess. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us and moved us to a table in the wine cellar. The wine cellar had a completely different vibe, dark and moody, compared to the bright, airy courtyard with its beautiful glass ceiling and natural light. We ordered the lobster roll and the RH Burger, both with fries. The food came out fairly quickly and was well-presented. The lobster roll was served on a buttery brioche with just the right amount of seasoning, and the burger was juicy and flavorful. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately for us we were a table for 3 and despite having mad that reservation weeks in advance were placed in what was obviously just 2 two tops pushed together. And not in the main atrium area. Look it was still a beautiful atmosphere and our company made it a lovely evening. Why don't they have a liquor license here? Ok the food. The burrata salad, so nice and summer fresh. We also had the crispy artichokes meh. What saved my night was the chicken salad. The crispy bits...amazing all through the salad. So good. Let's talk dessert, the butterscotch crème brûlée so good. Coffee and a port wine.... Good, but where is the cheese board. This place would benefit from real liquor and a desert cheese board. I mean I must believe that RH has a cheese board on offer somewhere. Anyway, nice evening and decent food in a mostly lovely place.
