For an affordable but AMAZING meal, bigham does not miss. Wing nights get very very crowded so go early (6 pm is my rec) and order to your hearts content because your bill will pretty much always come down to $20 max!

I came here for an office get together in the back room. The front of the tavern was quite active and extremely loud with enthusiastic patrons. I do believe one of our pro teams (hockey) had won that day. Making my way to the back room took a bit of finesse. Once there, it is a pretty large room. We had a wreath making party and appetizers. There were huge tv screens everywhere. The staff that attended to us were pleasant snd efficient. Parking could be an issue. I was fortunate to squeeze my little car into a spot right across the street.

Bighams is probably my favorite place to go for a meal in the Pittsburgh area. It is the best bar food you will ever have. Awesome atmosphere, especially in the summer when the outdoor areas are open. They also have some of the friendliest workers you'll ever come across. I've never had a bad meal here, but some of my favorites are the wings (bt original, hyena, dingo, hot garlic, and cluckin bbq are the best), rueben, pierogies, buffalo chicken dip, and all burgers. Getting their cheeseballs (hot cheese bites) is an absolute must. They go perfectly with their delicious homemade ranch. Great way to start the meal.

Wings were delicious!

My wife and I arrived in Pittsburgh and wanted a place with excellent food and a great atmosphere to watch the hockey game. Bonus points for being in Mount Washington, which allowed us to ride the Monongahela Incline up and the Duquesne Incline down. Yes it was a bit of a walk but Bigham Tavern was worth it! It was a Monday night, so there was also live music. Crowd was reasonable and we were seated at a comfortable table with a good view of the television. Our waitress was awesome, so patient! Her patience was tested because we don't drink much and wanted to order the food gradually throughout the game. We benefited from happy hour pricing for a tasty pickle dip and glasses of wine. We added some outstanding wings, so many great flavors to choose from! Next phase was an outstanding gluten free pesto and mozzarella pizza! Crust was too good to be true! The game was rough at first but turned around in time for me to order the Big Ham sandwich with a side of kale salad. The sandwich was delicious and served on a pretzel bun. The kale salad was an awesome side dish, tons of flavor! The game kept improving and we enjoyed the rest of it in the bar area with some great fans. Lots of televisions. Great neighborhood vibe! Will gladly return when we're back in town!

Met up with friends for a birthday celebration on a Monday evening. Bigham Tavern was hopping, the restaurant stayed consistently full and live music was playing in the dining room. Our friends were already seated in the front room when we arrived. Our waiter did a great job with our party of five and even split the checks. I was impressed by the menu. My husband got the smash burger and fried pickles, a staple for every pub and I ordered the mediterranean bowl and deep fried cauliflower. The smash burger and homemade chips were fantastic, I ate his other half for lunch the next day. The fried pickles and cauliflower with dipping sauce was thoroughly enjoyed by the table. My Mediterranean bowl was good... it was missing a grain like quinoa, couscous or rice, it was more like a layered dip. I still had half the bowl when I was done with the pita. I took my leftovers home and added some fresh greens and bread. Delicious!!! Regardless, I really felt like Bigham Tavern cares about quality ingredients and offering good food choices for their customers. It's clear this restaurant is a favorite in Mt. Washington and I would be really excited to go back and enjoy their outdoor dining area.

We came to Bigham on a Saturday night and it was packed, but we were seated immediately outside on the covered patio. I ordered the French onion burger medium well and my son ordered the smokehouse Mac and cheese. Although the flavor of my burger was great, it was very dry and extremely well done. The pretzel bun was very soft and the onions were a nice addition. The smokehouse mac and cheese was rich and creamy and came in a fairly large portion. Lastly, we ordered the wings and I found myself wishing they were crispier. Based on other reviews, I may have just had a so so batch. ‍ The ranch was delicious though. The tavern is located in a neighborhood so on street parking is your option, but it wasn't hard to find, so that was a plus.

What can I say - this particular Arsenal Cider is crisp and tart - think chardonnay- pairs PERFECTLY with Buffalo chicken Mac- not pictured- hot wing sauced morsels of fried chicken in velvety cheddar with blue cheese over cavatappi. Add a side of broccoli for balance. Comfort food level bliss achieved fun 2 man band played this Monday evening - good vibes. My partner enjoyed his Nugget Nectar draft, and one-off daily special of meatloaf, which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli - just what winter ordered! For whatever reason, an old picture of hot chocolate is showing

Nachos

Bigham is a staple for upscale bar food. Their nachos are some of my favorites in Pittsburgh. The service is hit or miss, but I love going there for trivia, wing nights (they have so many sauces to choose from) and sitting at the bar.

I've been to Bigham tavern a few times and I've never been wowed but the food and service is is usually good. Although last night the host was pretty unfriendly. Not the best first impression. One of the only "regular" dining options in mt Washington. Clean and bright dining area although the bathrooms are not great. The wings are very good and we enjoyed the Lou Q and Hot Honey sauces on ours. We also got the loaded fries and the fried cauliflower. Pretty underwhelming portion sizes for the prices. Overall an OK experience

Chris C.

On wednesdays they have 75 cent wings. Beer is also cheap 2.75 for a 16oz. So worth it. Ton of rly good wing flavors

Great food and lovely service! Came for the flower festival and glad I stayed for lunch. Sat out on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful day!

Wings absolutely, 100% and unequivocally lived up to the hype. Excellent service. Fun atmosphere and great beverages.

For starters, we ordered curry and chips, which were a hit. The corn beef, cabbage and mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had and my husband's bangers and mash were delicious. (Clean, comfortable, clean restrooms ) We love to try new places to enjoy a meal at when we're in Pittsburgh. Piper's Pub was a very pleasant surprise. We found it on line and we were not disappointed. We highly recommend this pub when dinning out in Pittsburgh.

Seriously, I am still thinking about it…read more I got the toad in the hole, and my husband got the shepherd's pie, and when I tell you I have found some of my new favorite food in all of Pittsburgh, I mean it. Everything was absolutely incredible, and I genuinely cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu. And the whiskey chocolate pot de creme was the perfect way to end an amazing meal. My only complaint? The Scotch eggs only came with 2 halves. I could have happily eaten more! The staff was incredibly friendly, and while there was a bit of a wait for the food, that's understandable when the food is this good. Trust me, it is SO worth it! The atmosphere is very much a casual pub vibe, with multiple TVs broadcasting football games, so it's a great spot to grab a meal, watch a game, and enjoy some seriously amazing comfort food. Honestly, I'm already planning my next visit. If you're looking for a new favorite spot in Pittsburgh, this place needs to be on your list!

BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports. Very high Pittsburgh atmosphere going on I will be back so many times and absolutely worth going Downtown for

Not to mention, they offer semi-strong long islands for $4 all day, It's sort of a premixed concoction that's just okay in my opinion. Nothing to rave about...but enough to lure you in for price and continue to get you in for more libation. lol Lefty's is a nice and fun hangout spot for friends for sure.and a great way to get into the mix of Pittsburgh natives (people from the surrounding area). The bar is a pretty narrow space and gets packed pretty quickly, but it is a great space to watch sports and chat with people. There is not a lot of seating space as the space is relatively small, but it is still comfortable while standing. Although crowded, the bartenders are quick and efficient with drink orders. If only they sold food, this spot would be perfect. However, there are several shops and restaurants along the strip to grab a bite to eat. In all, cool little dive bar in the heart of the Strip District of Pittsburgh. Also a great vibe and place to meet up with friends for a few drinks or a pit stop while site seeing the downtown area.
