Amazing Food, Incredible Drinks & Fantastic Service!…read more What an absolutely fabulous experience at Moonshine Grill in Austin! From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was fantastic! Jessica took great care of us and made our visit even more enjoyable. The ambiance was also really nice, with cute rocking chairs out front and lots of mirrors all over the walls. We had the grilled cheese sandwich with burnt ends, and WOW! The combination of the amazing onions and gooey, delicious cheese was out of this world! We also ordered the sweet potatoes, and I cannot say enough about how good they were! Perfectly sweet and absolutely delicious. Seriously, SO SO good! And the drinks? The lavender lemonade was AMAZING! Refreshing, delicious, and the perfect complement to an already fabulous meal! Between the incredible food, fantastic drinks, and Jessica's wonderful service, this place was a winner all around! If you're in Austin, Moonshine Grill is definitely worth a stop! We loved every bite and sip!

We somehow snagged nearby street parking and a table for two with no wait despite it being a busy Saturday evening after a UT football game. Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

Our server said he was also the head sommelier. He had great wine & food recommendations. Tuesday is half off wine bottle night. So we splurged on a really nice bottle. It was delightful! Table side Caesar salad (10/10). When I say get it! I mean just get it!! It was absolutely terrific. I loved the semi spicy bite of the garlic. All I can say is I would never come to this restaurant and not get the Caesar. The only way you will not love the salad is if you are sensitive to strong garlic that has a little burn. For me it was just freak'in fabulous!! Not gonna lie, it could be bigger because I wanted more, but I loved every bite!! Truffles fries (10/10) were not just hot. They were piping hot!! Perfectly cooked. Wonderful. Japanese F-1 Filet. (10/10) I went for the higher grade cut of filet & it was so worth it. Simply wonderful. Cooked med rare & just right. The seasoning was great. The salt seasoning was spot on. I thought I was going to have leftovers since it was 8 ounces of meat. I struggled towards the end but I finished it all. Much easier since we only had fries & caesar as sides/starters. The bar & lounge area were so inviting. I could imagine coming here & just grabbing drinks (and the Caesar cause that's a must) and calling it a day. I had a great anniversary celebration dinner here! Dinner was just absolutely wonderful. Since it was our anniversary they gave us a complimentary sticky toffee dessert which was rich & so tasty. In summary: Wine was great, Food was great Service was great Vibe was great. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. I so very much, unequivocally recommend this place!

My favorites were the center cut filet (cooked to perfection) the meatball appetizer, the Caesar salad, and the butterscotch signature cake, dessert. The creamed spinach and mashed broccoli were not really my taste. The restaurant was dark and moody, and beautifully decorated. and the servers... Oh my goodness, the wonderful servers! It's worth returning just to receive that wonderful service. Verdict: wonderful!

We told her we were there for a birthday celebration and she took us to our destination. The interior restaurant is nice. There are several places that you could be seated at. For this occasion we were taken to the vault room which seats up to 25 people. After socializing and figuring out where we were going to sit the group of waiters came in. They were all friendly and did an excellent job during our dinner. We had a limited menu but it provided some delicious options. We were served some bread to start. The bread was nice and thick and paired well with the butter. For the soup or salad course I ordered the artichoke, potato, and leek Soup which had flavor and was a good. For my entrée course my husband and I shared our choices. I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon cooked medium and my husband ordered the Perry's famous pork chop. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. It was tender, juicy, and delicious. The pork chop was tender, sweet, and blew me away. We were served sides of macaroni and cheese, grilled asparagus, and brussel sprouts. I don't really like brussel sprouts so I didn't have any. The asparagus was okay for a vegetable and the macaroni and cheese was good. I didn't eat too much of the sides as I was focused on eating the steak and pork chop. The dessert options were a dessert trio which came with cheesecake, lemon meringue, and a chocolate crunch or a flourless fudgy chocolate cake. My husband and I shared. He chose the trio and I chose the chocolate cake. The trio was okay. The cheesecake had some sort of orange on top of it which I didn't really mind but I liked the cheesecake by itself. The lemon meringue was my favorite in the trio. It tasted exactly how it should with a lemon flavor and a fluffy meringue. I didn't really care much for the chocolate crunch. The chocolate cake was really good. It wasn't overly sweet which I prefer. Overall Perry's Steakhouse was a great place to go and enjoy a birthday celebration with a group of friends. The vault provided a cool atmosphere, the service was great, and the food was really good.

Being that we didn't order an appetizer I felt like 2 hours for dinner is crazy. That said, beautiful and clean restaurant. The pork chop is amazing, and make sure you split it with someone. Glad we got it to go since everything took so long. I would go back, but with hope that the service was better.

I have seen too many high-end restaurants' servers who are either too-salesy on expensive items (but don't really care what diners truly prefer) or overly professional (e.g., disingenuously hyped/smiley like Mr. Beast but seemingly going with the motion), but Ayhan recommended the perfect wine after knowing that I don't like dry and took care of us the whole time with impeccable charm, which appears to be pretty hard to train. Sidebar- my husband and I got in a little argument on El Niño vs. La Niña but Ayhan and the team of servers carried on calmly and demonstrated excellent professionalism. Food was as great as expected but Ayhan solidified my five-star rating for Dean's Italian Steakhouse in Austin.

We were greeted with soft, warm bread and butter, and I always appreciate when a restaurant serves whipped butter with bread. We may have over-ordered, but everything came out delicious, so no regrets. The A5 wagyu was seared perfectly. I love grilling steaks at home, but I don't fully trust myself with A5 yet, so this was such a treat. Both the lobster and bone marrow were rich and delicious, and they also did their mushrooms really well. The only dish I probably would have skipped was the tuna tartare, which didn't stand out quite as much as the other dishes. All in all, we had a very successful birthday dinner and a really lovely experience from start to finish.

Maybe I should've ordered more of their main dishes to try next time. The Caesar salad was overwhelmingly pungent with garlic and the lettuce was too soggy. Wagyu burger was dry, not cheesy or juicy enough. The fries were also stale, not crispy or fresh like I was expecting. The deviled eggs were at least decent. It was creamy. The best dish was probably their fried chicken and honey biscuit but I've also had better at other places. Happy hour deals weren't that great either. On a positive note, decent service and chill atmosphere inside.

The crab fried rice was a great side, loaded with sweet lump crab and a perfect match for the steak. The dry-aging cases near the dining room are a fun touch and a good sign of how seriously they take their beef. The desserts were just as memorable. We ordered the carrot cake and the chocolate mousse cake. Both were fantastic. Then the staff surprised us with a complimentary classic crème brûlée, the crackly caramelized top was the perfect finish. The little touches (being handed a single red rose when checking in) made the evening even more special.
