This was probably one of the best meals I habe had in a while. It was a little pricey but was a lot of food. For someone like me who can't eat that much in one sitting. First visit here most of us enjoyed our meals. Ribs were good, kids enjoyed burger and wings. Husband got the French dip which he thought was just ok. Had a really great waitress, Soledad. Very friendly and helpful. Went back a couple days later for lunch. Got the blackened grouper....not impressed. Had a different waitress who forgot several things we had asked for. Was disappointed with the second visit. With the fish, 2 burgers, side of shrimp, and an order of appetizer wings, we were at $100 with standard tip. No drinks, just water. My fault for not asking how much the fish was since it's not listed on the menu. read more

We stopped in here for breakfast at 10:30 on our way to KW. It took a minute for anyone to acknowledge us standing there waiting. One lady told us to sit anywhere we like. A waitress came to our table and said the kitchen stops making breakfast at 10:30 and they don't start serving lunch until 11:00. The place was full of people. This is the stupidest restaurant in the history of ever. Who turns business away like that?! read more

We were on our way back from Key West and found this stop for an early dinner which had very nice ambiance (tv for the kids). We had excellent service and portions were huge. The nachos were very good, could have had a little more fixings in the middle. My daughter had the chicken parmigiana and it was excellent, served with a huge portion of ziti and focaccia bread. My husband's burger was pretty good, fries and cole slaw was excellent. My garlic finger wings were also excellent, crispy yet flavourful. Some of the best I've ever had! Came here with my family after visiting one of the state parks. Small restaurant with a lot of locals. We enjoyed our meals, they were a good portion and came quickly. Everything tastes fresh and home made. The only downside we felt was a smaller menu at brunch. Overall a great place. read more

The food was that me and my friend ordered was great and full filling. Although, my parents got a 29.99 fish pallet. We expected a large plate of fish but what came was not at all what we expected. There was probably 6 pieces of 4 inch fish strips, and about 4 shrimp. NOT WORTH IT. The fish had a weird taste in everyone's mouth and was gross. Let me say first, the people I ate here with would rate this a 4 or more. And, the service was excellent and the food very good. Its just to be consistent with what I like, and for those who read my reviews I give this a three. It is a little fancier than I prefer. For example the bread has nuts and fruit in it, that would be the breakfast toast. While many like this its not my thing. Im pretty sure I could get regular toast and would ask for that next time. For lunch one day I had a Cuban sandwich, which was grilled- not my preference. Not that theres anything wrong with that, just not my preference. Had eggs grits and ham for breakfast. The ham was awesome, the grits a bit dry, I prefer creamy, and eggs are eggs. There was a lot of food in all cases. One friend got pancakes and sausage. It was huge!!!! For lunch one of my group had a seafood dish that she thought spectacular. This place just opened and I can honestly say it's the best place to eat on Big Pine! The food tastes fresh not frozen & is of good quality! (I hope every other Big Pine restaurant takes note) The burgers are huge, juicy and delicious! Portions are large and service is friendly! They did a great job remodeling & updating , the place looks light and bright and certainly more modern than the old restaurant,which had a musty smell and was very dark and drab. Big portions, great food, HUGE menu, best restaurant within an hour. Nice value. Wish I would have eaten here more often while in town. Drove to some other islands chasing food but wish I had ended up at the buck tooth rooster. I could have eaten here every day. If there is a wait for a table, you can stand at the hostess stand, or sit outside. Or wait at the bar if seats available. 4 tvs, 2 had fishing on 2 had baseball on 4 different shows. Great little stop just after the turn off for No Name Key. Super fast and friendly service. Had a omelette and my fiancé had the breakfast burrito. Love the fresh fruit instead of potatoes. Great stop on the way too or from Key West that will get you tasty food quick to maximize time in the sunshine. Definitely recommended popping over to wander around No Name Key after! read more

Great food and large portions but the service leaves something to be desired. We've been here a few times and had issues each time. Even though there were a lot of people waiting on a Sunday morning we were seated within 10 minutes. We had 4 people and everyone of us loved the food and the service! The lobster roll had more than a full lobster of meat and the Rueben had some of the tenderest corned beef I've ever tasted! We all plan on going back several times while we are here!! read more

Good food, the breakfast menu ends at 10:30 though. A modest brunch menu is available after, but if you want a full breakfast, stop by earlier. Food was hot and plentiful. Dining room was a little warm for our tastes, but it is Florida in June, so that's most likely to be expected. Fries were great, although my Philly was just ok. My wife enjoyed her eggs with biscuits and gravy. Good chow, reasonable prices, service was good. We'll make this our regular pit stop on the way home every year. read more

At first I was apprehensive since we had to wait a bit to get seated but it is well worth it, so much we went back the following day! I do not think that there is anything bad on the menu. There were 5 of us and we ordered various plates to try as much as possible. They have the BEST conch fritters I have ever tasted. We also tried the ribs, seafood pasta, calamari and shrimp appetizer, fresh fish sandwich, wings, ultimate seafood platter, key lime and peanut butter pies. All were excellent, we actually looked forward to eating the left overs! Yes, they serve you so much food that you will end up taking something home!
