Great little restaurant. The waitress was awesome and the atmosphere was wonderful. I had the scallops because reading previous reviews they said they were great and they wasn't lying they were fantastic! My son got the mahi tacos and he really liked them. What a great find! Food was delicious, the shrimp and lobster appetizer were perfectly cooked and served chilled. So delicious. I had the pan seared grouper also perfectly cooked and seasoned. Huge menu is overwhelming.... but you probably can't make a bad selection. Everything looks amazing. Servings are HUGE!! Heads up... the firehouse shrimp and scallops are really really hot!!! French onion soup is pretty darn good .... corns beef hash for breakfast, not so much. Maybe the Caesar Salad makes up for that because it's very good. The staff are all friendly, beer and wine are $$$$. Overall you get your money's worth... just stay away from the hash. read more

Ended up here when another restaurant was closed. Food was delicious and super chill atmosphere. Lots of locals, they seemed to all know each other, which is a great sign. We are visiting the Keys for a while so we will definitely try to come back. Highly recommend. PS... not a water view but catch a sunset then head in for yummy food. read more

Very very very BAD experience we had today. I deleted my nice review and I am writing a bad one because the way how they've changed is the really bad way what it is very sad. First of all, you guys are treated us so bad today, I couldn't believe. We came to BR tonight to check if we can have a some dinner even if it's a Memorial Day. What we've seen a parking lot with tags from Philly to New York but - it was not crowded fortunately that's why we decided to stop there. Oh well, my husband was waiting at least 15 minutes for a hostess but nobody came to him and talked to him. Then he went to get me and my baby, we walked in and finally some new (again) waitress looked at us and said that we have to wait to be seated and she put us in a waiting list BUT - it was NOBODY behind us in a line and at least 3 or 4 tables available for seating, also people were leaving but because it was a 2 of us and baby she decided to put us behind because, I guess, they were relying on tourists and big company in this holiday to make some money. Secondly, the menu now is kinda bad to compare to the first time when BR was open. Food was delicious, service was awesome and menu was great. Now everything is pricey and food is worse as well as menu - they've cut it off at least three times less than it was. Third of all - service. You guys MUST work on it. As soon as owners had changed the service became a worst part in this place. Always new faces and unfortunately faces aren't so friendly. Also - raising prices isn't a bad idea but when you provide food and service better than it was before - definitely. Otherwise you gotta think before you change a prices which weren't so cheap. Now all I see is a restaurant that just makes money on tourists. Such a shame. read more

Cute hole in the wall with delicious food! We stopped by on our way to Key West around 4:30 which was 1/2 price apps for happy hour (3-6). We got the fish dip & conch fritters which were the best we had so far! For our entrees, we ordered the jumbo panko parmesan crusted shrimp basket, bourbon chicken sandwiches and mahi mahi tacos. Super fast service with friendly staff too! We will be back soon. read more

When Rooster took over the Big Pine Restaurant we gave it the local try. The food was hit or miss in the beginning but not too bad, especially the burgers. But the quality has been going down and this last meal was the worst. Rubbery chicken cutlet with below average sauce, Parmesan cheese was powdered and we ordered a burger which was huge but for some reason the meat was off. They forgot our plank fries which was okay because we didn't finish the food. It is a cute little neighborhood spot but the food is so sub par. read more

We had lunch there today for the first time. It was outstanding! The Lobster roll was huge, had all Lobster meat, was fresh and as good as what I had in New England. My husband had the ribs-they fell off the bones. The portions were all huge, the food fresh and delicious. Our server, Rita, was awesome. Absolutely will go back!! read more

We were excited the Bucktooth Rooster had the impossible burger. The best veggie burger ever. We visited the restaurant 7 times, each time my husband ordered the impossible burger. All 7 times, they got the order incorrect. He always asked for no lettuce, no tomato, no grilled onion. Add raw onion. Each time , he had lettuce, tomato,and grilled onion. The last time, a few nights ago, he told the waitress I do not like anything that comes on the burger, please make sure it does not have grilled onions. He says they get it wrong all the time. She says I'll try, but I won't promise. What kind of response was that ? We should have left, but we were taking our visiting son and daughter in law out to dinner. Sure enough, burger arrives with grilled onion, lettuce and tomato. She told my husband she will fix it, be right back. He said forget it. Why not get it correct when I asked the first time? I had one of their punch cards, so my dinner was free. This same waitress brought our ticket and proceeded to circle the tip amounts and told me I tip on the original amount. I tipped her 20%, but really shouldn't have left her anything. A gratuity is not mandatory. She was rude to even mention a tip. And as soon as I signed my receipt, she came and removed it. Never has a waitress ever, unless the place was closing, ever picked up the receipt, ever, as Long as we were still finishing our drinks. As soon as she did that I regretted leaving her a tip. Stopped in for lunch, their chowder special was a lobster bisque. it was AMAZINGLY good, big lobster chunks (so it really was a chowder) Ruben was our server, he was very nice and happy to help. Oh and the cornbread that came with the LB, was the most moist delicious I ever had. We also got the Mahi Ruben, it was good, but not amazing. The portions are very generous. Excellent food! I had the shrimp and chicken pasta and so did my uncle. I can't believe the excellent taste and flavor. Some of the others had liver and onions. Some had roast beef and chicken Cesar wrap. I would recommend the pasta without hesitation. My family stated this one of their favorite meals while in the keys. Good job! read more
