The menu was overwhelming but in a good way, so many options that sounded so delicious. However, it was a weekday so i inquired about them having happy hour, which they did but they didn't initially give us the happy hour menu when sitting us down. I brought one of my boys the Llewelyn's special and the combination of his hunger and how finger licking good Yardbird's signature dish is that I've earned his undying gratitude. The Deviled Eggs appetizer slaps and the bread pudding dessert are must orders. There's a varied selection of beer, a crazy wine list, and after a full meal the Penicillin had me seeing stars. Stopped in for solo lunch and ended up deciding on the fried chicken and Brussels. I got a glass of rose because my first drink option from the menu wasn't available at the time. The chicken was juicy and fried nice and crispy. The salad was fresh and dollop of potatoes was good also. The Brussels that I only ordered because when I asked what came with the chicken, the server told me nothing but a little garnish. You can tell right away that they use fresh, high-quality ingredients in everything they serve. To start, the ambiance of the restaurant in general is kicking. Everyone from the bartenders, servers and other patrons are smiling and having a great time. The energy is light, fun and in a sense, feels like home. And to boot, the cocktails and food are chefs kiss. The manhattan was absolute perfection. Skillet cornbread = fire. Came here for the Power Lunch, which I expected to be a quick, budget-friendly option. Unfortunately, service was really slow even though the place was nearly empty on a Friday....maybe two or three tables inside and a couple outside, including ours. Appetizers came out quickly, but our entrées took almost an hour. Not sure why it took that long for a sandwich and wings. Gratuity is automatically added, which might explain why the service felt just "okay"....not bad, but definitely not great either, really just "okay". Since we stopped in Miami before a cruise, we decided to try Yard Bird. Sadly, they were still serving brunch, so that's what we had. The location is nice, on the corner with a large sign, so you can't miss it. Clean look and lively music. Unfortunately it was full on a Sunday morning, so the only seats were outside. We didn't have a reservation, so I can't blame them. I'm glad we were able to be accommodated on such short notice. Our waiter was great. We were waited on and served quickly. I ordered a drink and the crème brûlée waffles, which came with a side of strawberries and whipped cream. It was great for a rather warm day. I wish I'd had the appetite for their famous chicken and waffles, though the actual waffles had slight burnt bits, but after coming off a long flight, I was more interested in sleeping than eating. Wow. What a surprise to walk into this place on a Friday evening, around 6:30 and find it nearly empty'. I used to live across the street in it's heyday and would see the lines that would begin at 4. I went with a few solid recommendations from fellow Yelpers, and I'm glad I did. Lewellen's Chicken was absolutely delicious ,a bit over seasoned and but cooked just right. Still a true standout! The All-American plate had great potential with a fun concept, but a few things missed the mark. The greens were a lovely, homey touch, but the bacon was unfortunately extremely hard with an off, inauthentic flavor. The sausage didn't quite impress either. The Shrimp & Grits had great flavor and was a solid pick, though I personally would've loved a creamier, cheesier texture to the grits. Just a small tweak away from greatness. Appetizer wins: the Fried Green Tomatoes were crispy and delicious, and the Bacon Jam Jalapeño Deviled Eggs were bursting with flavor ,definitely recommend those! Service-wise, Edwin did a great job attentive and polite. The person who brought out our food, however, could benefit from a bit more training on how to handle questions or concerns. That said, the front desk hostess was warm, welcoming, and truly personable. Nice brunch restaurant to visit. The placeis clean and has nice decor. When you first walk in you will be greated my a friendly host. We didnt have a wait so we were seated immediately. Our waitress was pleasant. My only advice would to be more attentive. We had to constantly ask for refills, silverware, condiments and etc. We ordered the skillet cornbread, hold trinity hash, fried chicken, mac n cheese, and smoked brisket rancheros. Another great meal at Yardbird! I never pass up the opportunity to dine at Yardbird whether it's Texas, Vegas, or SoBe. This time around, it was during Art Basel weekend and I happen to be celebrating my birthday. We made reservations online and were quickly seated when we got there. It's been no less than 4 years since I last dined or had drinks at Yardbird. Selected by a friend who visits once a year, we got a reservation and were quickly seated. The Hostess was amiable and courteous. Our server, Paul, was professional and amusingly conversational. Opening with some of their fruit juice/ice tea mixes to accompany biscuits and chicken biscuit sliders. We were off to a great start. Various mains delivered quickly. Lobster Mac n Cheese is decadent and hearty. It's quite tasty and loaded up with a 1-ish pound lobster. The cheese is thick and gooey over a chunky fusilli. In my opinion, too much dish for one person. Likely better as either a table starter or shared. The short ribs are a perfect personal plate. A generous square of braised beef over mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. Seasoned perfectly; slow cooked so that it falls apart with no need for a knife. Chicken n waffles is a notorious mainstay. Too much tasty fried chicken and crispy waffle - leftovers are inevitable. Caesar salad with fried chicken is uncomplicated, but served with chilled crisp lettuce. A safe but excellent call. Party of 4 shared a house key lime pie with fruit. It's rare to find a key lime pie with the right balance of crust, tart filling, and not too sweet. This was exceptional and an ideal share. Ambiance is party variable. Subtle lighting bordering on dark. Party of 2 is romantic. But, 4 plus is a fun atmosphere. Pricing is on the higher side, but SoBe competitive. I need to tell you about this experience because I'm still processing how disappointed I am. I loved Yardbird in Vegas, I celebrated my-birthday there and I loved it. So when I saw there was a Miami location, I was genuinely excited. It turn out to be a horrible experience. On one not so busy evening, I sat at the bar, ordered a glass of beer and told the bartender I was ready to order food. I was waiting for quite some time before the food finally arrived. However, when the food arrived, I had no utensils to eat it with. The bartender finally realized and she gave me the utensils. I ordered Big Easy Shrimp & Grits - $36 + tax (one of their "classics"). All the shrimps were burnt, dry and hard. I did not want to send the food back because honestly I started to not trust the service here. When I finished the food, I was trying to find the bartender and asked for the bill. She seemed not ready, but I needed to use the restroom so I asked another server where it was. When I stood up, the bartender shot me this suspicious look like and she made a comment but another server explained to her that I needed to go to the restroom. She seemed to think that I was doing a dine-and-dash. Seriously? The bill came, and 18% gratuity was automatically added, which maybe explains why nobody seemed motivated to provide great service? For $36+ for one dish, plus automatic gratuity, plus terrible service, I expected SO much more. This experience has me questioning whether I'll ever go to another Yardbird location anywhere. The Vegas spot set the bar high, and Miami absolutely demolished any goodwill I had toward this restaurant group. When the food doesn't match the price and the service makes you feel like a criminal for going to the bathroom, something is seriously broken. Save your money. There are too many amazing restaurants in Miami to waste it here. Would not recommend. Would not return. read more

Ordered a variety of dishes and I'm bummed I missed the rib presentation. Clearly best dish. Chicken was good but needed a little more temperature. Brisket sandwich and fries were solid. Love that this place is big, with ample seating both inside and out! Southern food with a bit of a twist - I'd say it's all elevated :) We were seated quickly but were sad to learn that they no longer offer lunch specials as they used to. My cousin and I ordered the BLT fried green tomatoes which were delicious and uniquely done. The presentation was lovely and the flavor was delicious. We also got the caesar salad, which was good but nothing out of this world. I think if I were to get it again, I would ask for extra pickled grapes (it came with two total, sliced in half haha) which made the salad stand out! Lastly we got the brisket sandwich with truffle fries. It looked pretty big, but the bread was like smashburger hamburger style where once you grabbed it, it flattened which made the dish smaller than it looked. To be honest, I preferred the sandwich without the sauce it came with! Overall the meal was good, but it was definitely pricey considering the portions weren't huge. Okay, yum. I had a little staycation on South Beach recently and after an afternoon of perusing Lincoln Road, I stopped at Yardbird for a late lunch/early dinner. They were still serving their brunch menu when I stopped it - and I had such a hard time choosing (I definitely need to come back to try the cinnamon roll, shrimp and grits and the mac and cheese). I sat at the bar and had fantastic service by Ricardo; he was great at giving me recommendations for food and drinks. When I said I was contemplating the fried green tomatoes, he let me know I could order just one, instead of a full order - which was such a win! And they were delicious - the only thing that made me sad is that you can't just order the pimento cheese with the bread basket! For my entree, I tried their signature fried chicken - which is something I definitely don't usually order - and it was so juicy, and crunchy, and flavorful. Literally delightful. I also completely ate the simple salad and the mashed potatoes and gravy that came with it. I tried three of their lighter, fruiter cocktails and they were all delicious and clearly made with such attention to detail. I definitely want to come back for dinner to try some of their more booze-forward cocktails! For now, I would recommend the Toes in the Sand, Sippin' on Trouble, and Lime and Dandy (it tasted like a key lime pie, but without being too too sweet). And finally, while I was stuffed, I grabbed dessert to go - and opted for their banana cheesecake pudding - and yum. Served to-go it was a bit deconstructed - but definitely didn't take away from the taste. Yardbird was such a hit with my friends! Everything we offered was rich and decadent. My friends' favorite were the creme brûlée waffles, but I wish they had a little more filling. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken and egg sandwich and mac and cheese though! They are known for their fried chicken and I 100% understand why. The chicken was perfectly crispy and moist inside. We kicked things off with a killer gin cocktail with pineapple, and the cornbread starter was just the right sweet-savory note to begin with. My husband ordered the Low & Slow Brisket Dip (smoked brisket, caramelized onions, Swiss, roasted garlic aioli, horseradish cream) with truffle fries, and I had their Crispy Chicken Biscuit Sliders, plus sides of mac and cheese, southern street corn, and crispy Brussels sprouts. We have been to the Yardbird in Vegas, we have recommended the Yardbird in Vegas. So on a recent visit to Miami we decided to go casual. The first misstep is the high top tables ACROSS from the open kitchen is not a "chefs table" so we opted for outdoor dining. After 8 minutes I went in to ask of someone was working the section. They assured me yes there were waitstaff. After being passed by the same man 3 times with no acknowledgment, my husband went in to say we were leaving and would they tell the manager. The hostess turned her back on him. So he asked to speak to the manager. When she arrived, she did not address him so he started talking. She did not even acknowledge that we were upset. The deviled eggs were addictive, and I'm still craving the BLT stack. I love good fried chicken -- and let's just say, only bones were left on my plate.
