The most amazing bread to start
    Raquel A.

I honestly had never even heard of Lafayette before, and now I'm wondering why nobody talks about it more. From the outside, it feels like you've been transported somewhere far away from Brickell. The dark wood, rich textures, plants, and overall vibe are gorgeous. Inside, it gets even better. The velvet banquettes, two-level layout, and vintage feel gave me major 1920s energy in the best way possible. There was a DJ spinning when we arrived, the bar was buzzing, and the entire staff was incredibly friendly. Lisa was our server and she was an absolute gem. Super knowledgeable, super sweet, and she made the whole experience even better. We ordered the tomahawk special for two and wow. Cooked perfectly. The drinks were strong enough to let you know they didn't forget the alcohol, and the sides were just as good. What I loved most is that it's nice without being intimidating. You can dress up if you want, but you don't have to show up looking like you're headed to the Met Gala. Great steak, great service, beautiful atmosphere, and somehow still feels like a hidden gem. I'll definitely be back whenever I want a good steak and a little escape from reality.

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday to a good steakhouse. We went to Marion for his last birthday, and ever since then I kept noticing Lafayette, so it has been on my list for a while. From the moment you walk in, the motif pulls you in. It truly feels you've been transported to another place, even to another era, which I LOVED. My boyfriend came hungry so we definitely made most of the menu. We started with the loaf bread - pretzel like on the outside with the fluffiest center. The butter melted off the bread! We shared the Wagyu sliders next, and they were out of this world. The sauce just takes it to another level. The Miso glazed salmon was amazing and we paired it with the Yukon mashed potatoes - they were so creamy! The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce made the steak well balanced. Of course we got the truffle Mac and cheese and it did not disappoint. I also got the truffle pasta (which wasn't on the menu but I asked for it and they made it for me!) For dessert, we got the lava cake, but don't be fooled this isn't your typical lava cake. It's more like cookie, half cake filled with hazelnut and vanilla bean ice cream - I was blown away. The experience was excellent. The music was on point, service was great, and the food definitely delivered.

Loved everything about this place! The ambience, the beautiful dining room, the cozy bar and most of all the service. We stooped in for happy hour and it was fabulous! Arnold, our bartender, was friendly and a pleasure to speak with. We loved his recommendations and he makes a great martini. We tried the lobster roll and the Kobe Beef sliders. The sliders were cooked to perfection and so juicy. The lobster roll was good, but not the best I've ever had. It was beautifully presented and had a nice flavor. The Kobe sliders were outstanding and I can't wait to return and try their Tomahawk steak. I highly recommend Lafayette. It was a pleasant dining experience.

We managed to snag a reservation for Valentine's Day, and while the experience had its highlights, there were definitely some mishaps along the way. First off, the tables are ridiculously close together--so much so that getting into our seats without bumping into someone else's food was nearly impossible. We were practically dining with other couples, joking that we were having a group Valentine's Day experience. Our waiter was... odd. The interaction felt incredibly forced and unnatural. When I informed him that I was allergic to crustaceans, he responded with, "Oh, allergic to shellfish, got it." I clarified that they're not the same thing, and he just stared at me like I had three heads. How do you work in the food industry and not know the difference--especially when it comes to allergies? It honestly stressed me out for the rest of the meal. We initially wanted to start with the beef carpaccio, but they were out--bummer. Instead, we ordered the octopus, steak tartare, and deviled eggs. The octopus was hands-down the best we've ever had--cooked perfectly, tender, and flavorful. The steak tartare was also really good, but the deviled eggs were bland and forgettable. Wouldn't recommend them. Before we could even finish our appetizers, our tomahawk steak arrived, and the staff literally took our plates out of our hands while we were still eating. Given that service had been pretty slow up until then, the sudden rush was both surprising and rude. That said, the tomahawk steak itself was phenomenal. Cooked and seasoned to perfection, we had no complaints. The broccolini, however, was flavorless and unremarkable, but the creamed corn was absolutely to die for! It's a must-order, trust me. To finish, we tried their Ultimate Lava Cake, and honestly... I need to know who thought this was a good idea. It sounded strange on the menu, and it tasted even stranger. Just not good at all. Overall, we might return because the steak was excellent, but we're not in a rush. Our waiter could have done a much better job, but shoutout to the gentleman who was refilling our water and clearing plates--he was amazing. If I remembered his name, he would've gotten the whole tip!

Came in for Miami Spice and we couldn't be more ecstatic about the service. They were super friendly and helpful. Marie who helped us was great and she consistently checked up on us. The food itself was the reason I'm bringing the stars down. The steak was chewy and overall the foods didn't have a ton of flavor. Felt like things were slapped together and brought out in an assembly line. The actual inside of this place is super nice and well thought out. I'd recommend if you're doing drinks here. Great environment for a pre game or a date. Cheers!

This restaurant is an absolute gem, especially if you're a meat lover. The meats & sliders are cooked to perfection--juicy, and seasoned with that unmistakable French finesse!

I am reviewing based on HH experience only. Fantastic ambiance - dark, intimate, gorgeous interiors. The drinks are out of this world by the most amazing bartender/cocktail master "G". They offer great HH bites with sliders being my favorite. I liked the restaurant so much, I brought a group of ladies as my next visit. Everyone loved it and we will be coming back for dinner soon.

The place is decorated beautifully. It was quite empty when we arrived for our 8:30 reservation, which made me a little skeptical. However, the food and service were good. They have a selection of large steaks to share with your group. Overall great experience. Ideal spot for a birthday or celebratory dinner.

Had a lovely dinner at Lafayette and was genuinely impressed with most of what we tried. The standout dish for me was the sea bass perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. It was paired with carrots in a curry dressing, which was surprisingly well-balanced and added a great depth to the plate. A really well-executed combo. The shrimp cocktail was also a hit super fresh and served with a creamy avocado mousse that added a nice twist to a classic dish. Elegant and satisfying. Only miss of the evening was the sorbet extremely sour to the point it overwhelmed rather than refreshed. I could've done without it. Service was attentive, and the atmosphere is elegant without being stuffy. Overall, a great experience with a couple of memorable highlights. Would definitely return!

This place is so elegant. As soon as I walked in I was pleasantly suprised! This is the perfect spot for date night , anniversary or special dinner. The waiter was so help and nice. We did same day reservations. The decor is IG picture worthy! The food was so good! My favorite was the seas bas! They also have a live singer . We went on Saturday night it was very quiet and romantic

Perfection! Classy, beautiful, amazing food and great service. A real gem for those seeking an elegant and sophisticated steakhouse for Happy Hour or dinner. They have the very best staff. The owner and managers are always checking to make sure you are well taken care of. A shoutout to Daniela Lucia, a most wonderful manager with a great memory and welcoming demeanor. Every time I bring a new person she gives us a tour. They offer a Secrets of the Sommelier class - perfect for a group in their beautiful wine cellar. Check out their ultimate dessert experience with the Sundae Trolley. On the weekends they have music and if you want to party - their other restaurant is Marion nextdoor. Highly recommended for those seeking a truly sophisticated experience.

I think they fit Miami well, and are slight twists in classic drink options. Our bartender was awesome. She was super knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations as we decided what to order, and you can tell she really put effort into making sure the drinks were good. The drinks were really good! My only complaint is the price. Of course handcrafted cocktails are expensive, especially in Miami, but wow. The drinks were really small, and had so much ice that they ended up being not very many sips at all. They were definitely good, but the very small size for almost $20 a drink was kind of outrageous.

The bar was lit, poppin' and vibrant. We were waiting by the end of the counter where they checked out other patrons near the sitting area. We were overlooked many times... I locked eyes with one of the bartender and she completely looked away from me.. several times :( took about 15 minutes and we reached our arms out and flagged bartender Reilly. Her greeting and attention was genuine so I was happy to get her. Unfortunately, she got busy and we got the initial lady that ignored us. She was not kind, not attentive and didn't really want to help us - she was very fake. With that being said, we had to remind her of our drinks after 20 minutes of placing the order, in which she responded with an attitude "it's being made. We're busy" -_- -_- :( the attitude was not needed. We watched others that came in before us being served. :( I was completely annoyed and upset. She didn't even bring the drinks to us like the other bartenders were doing, she made us get it. Poor service from this one bartender while the others were happy and servicing their patrons. After our first drinks, I noticed she spoke to her colleague and he came over and asked if we wanted to close out.. . Wtf kicking us out? We said no and he opened a tab. When she noticed we were ordering more, she was a bit more attentive. So wrong. Luckily, the drinks were delicious. Perfect. We did end up coming back to the Lasseter and got a gentleman bartender that was so kind and attentive and made our drinks even better! The attention to detail and love he made in my drinks, so that is why I decided to make make this a 3 stars rather than two. He saved this place. The toilet sitting area is very warm, not very air conditioned properly so expect to be a little warm especially after a couple of sips. It's also the walkway to an actual big restrooms for the whole building. The drinks are VERY pricy but the setting is perfect and makes up for it. Unfortunately, the service was not up to par. Disney priced drinks without the Disney customer service. Do I want to come back? Yes. Am I going to be picky with the vibes coming from the bartender and chose who to go to? Also yes. Hopefully, I can increase the rating.

The biggest thing for me was the overall energy and engagement from the staff. I'm naturally a pretty social and engaged person, especially when I'm sitting at a bar, and I made an effort to interact with the bartenders. I just didn't really feel that same engagement coming back. Nobody was necessarily rude or disrespectful--it just felt disconnected, and the energy was a little strange to me. I also didn't realize until I tried to pay that the bar doesn't accept cash. Maybe that was posted somewhere and I missed it, and once they told me, it wasn't a big deal. But little things like that, combined with the overall interaction, affected the experience. Another thing I didn't realize until receiving my check was that gratuity was already included. I wasn't verbally told about it, and I personally didn't see it disclosed anywhere beforehand. From my understanding, an automatic gratuity or service charge is required to be disclosed to the guest before the purchase, not something they should only discover when they receive the check. Maybe there was a notice somewhere that I missed, so I'm not saying there wasn't one, but I definitely wasn't aware of it. I think that's an important thing for guests to know upfront, especially because someone could easily add another tip without realizing gratuity was already included. Ironically, the one person I genuinely connected with and had a good conversation with was another guest at the bar, not a member of the staff. That interaction actually helped make my time there more enjoyable. For me, hospitality is about more than serving a drink. Especially when someone is clearly open, friendly, and trying to engage, that's an easy opportunity to create a connection and turn a first-time guest into someone who wants to come back. I felt like I gave plenty of opportunities for that interaction, but it just never really happened. I still had a good time because I can have a good time pretty much anywhere, and nothing happened that would make me say Lost Boys is a bad bar. It just didn't feel like the staff cared much about enhancing the experience beyond serving the drinks. So four stars because I respect what the place is and can see why it works as a neighborhood bar. It just didn't give me a reason to come back, and personally, I don't think I would.

Like any Miami-ite, I'm always looking to soak up all the cultural accoutrements the Magic City has…read moreto offer: food trucks, eating halls, sports events, car meet-ups, that one art museum in downtown I forget its name. Anywayssss, when I caught the winds that there was a new sound bar in downtown, I NEEDED to be there. The concept of the sound bar is some type of Asian thing, I don't really know. But where in Asia there might be a few monks sitting around in silence listening to gongs or whatever, Miami goes BIG! Finding parking in downtown Miami on a Saturday is virtually impossible unless you bribe a valet servant with cash. So that's what I did. My ladyfriend and I arrived early to the sound bar, and there was already a hearty swarm of brodents and thots lined up to get in. Some crack head outside was shouting about IPA's. I told the door servant that I knew the DJ or something like that, and he let us right in. Once inside, the bar has that edgy big city, small hallway type of vibe. You could barely stand around in there, let alone get to the bar to order a drink. The mix of flapping gums and mixologists concocting cocktails made for a cacophonous distraction from the actual "music" we were there to "listen" to. My ladyfriend and I ducked out across the street to Black Market Miami Bar where the game was on and you could actually order a drink that didn't cost $50+. After a few libations, we headed back to Miami Sound Machine Bar (they need to put 'Miami' in every bar's name down here in case you forget where you are). There was a weird looking guy playing depressing vinyls with singing in different languages. I was more in the mood for something upbeat and groovy like salsa or merengue that I could dance to with my girls. Although I did hear the 12" Andrew Weatherall remix of Happy Mondays "Hallelujah" at some point, a staple at the Haçienda nightclub in Manchester - an institution that shook the music world and changed club culture forever. The head servant at the bar looked like Nirvana (yes, one man looking like a whole band). He was jaded and rude. I don't blame him! As the night wore on, the crowd got larger and more deplorable, and the room got smaller and smaller. I got stuck in an awkward conversation waiting to use the bathroom. I don't think sound bars are for me. Pros: The bar across the street had really fair drink prices, and the servants are polite and efficient. Cons: the ratchet yuppies that inhabit Miami's nightlife, always on the prowl to ruin a subculture with their tackiness.

I know it normally books up most nights so I figured if we got early we could snag a couple spots. My plan worked. We had a very nice bartender who got things going. We both got a creative drink from there menu. The DJ arrived the same time as us so he was just getting set. We were there long enough to hear him blend in about 5+ songs. I was digging how he was shaping the set from some chill song to some that had some pep. It was just long enough to know that next time we are done this way I think we will check out the Sound bar again.

The bouncers outside were nice to us, and the line to get in was not too bad. There is only one elevator going up, but it's just a short ride up. Once we got up, the music is loud, the lights are going, it's dark, and it's packed. All great signs of a solid and popular spot. I don't drink alcohol anymore, but my friends were able to get attention pretty quickly from the bartenders. There was a section there where I felt like I was being packed like sardines, but once we moved we were in comfortable spot. My feet started killing me since I wore heels the whole night, so to my delight, I found out there was an area to sit, and that pretty much saved my feet from falling off. The rooftop is such a vibe. We were able to get a section with a table by the balcony railing and see the downtown area in all it's glory with the lights and the Brickell sign in the background. It was thee perfect spot for photos, and we took advantage of it and had our mini photoshoot there on the spot. I was rather surprised that this place started to shut down by 2 am, I had the impression that FL goes until 5 in the morning, but it was no big deal since we were starting to wind our evening down anyways. I am thankful we got to experience going here, it truly made our night special for our bride to be.

The Mule is a standout, and the White Cloud (gin, sake, lime, and yuzu foam) was lovely. For food, the buffalo chicken empanadas were tasty. I'd skip the pork bao buns, as the meat was overcooked, but our server easily swapped them for the hamachi crudo, which was fantastic. Service was very pleasant, and the music set a great vibe at the perfect volume. Overall, it is a great rooftop spot that I would recommend.
