No pitmaster, creosote-filled smoke pouring into the meats and out the stack. This is why their bbq sucks.
R. Grant C.

Genuinely the worst barbecue I've ever had. Their "pitmaster" doesn't watch the smoker and builds terrible fires which results in entire batches of horrible, bitter, creosote filled meats. If midwesterners would stop drowning their meats in ketchup, they would taste how awful it is. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Saw the sign bbq and chrcked out yelp. Got me and hubby curious and went the next day. We had the sampler pulled pork, sausge, brisket and ribs. Big enough for 3 people. My fave is the ribs so yummy and tender, pulled pork next so tasty, brisket is so good too and i love the sausage. Our fried got the italian porcheta and reminds me of lechon or roasted pork. The mac n cheese is yummy and love the cheese used. The owner talks to all customers and he'a so bice. Service is superb. The place seems nice and homey. This will be part of our go to places

Wow! The prime brisket was SO good!!! We enjoyed all of the sides from Mac n cheese to baked beans and onion rings. The service was really exceptional- from samples to free ice cream to just plain friendliness! It's a smaller place but plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your food- they also have some outdoor tables. We enjoyed our visit here.

Went to pick up food on the way home from a race. It was busy, so had to park across the street. The ordering was fairly quick, but took quite a while to get the food - but they were busy. I ordered the Rokka Pollo and it was VERY tasty, The garlic, olive oil, and rosemary combo was great. The chicken was also tasty and juicy, but somewhat of a rubbery/chewy texture unfortunately. The fries, as always, were also tasty and well seasoned. However, I do like my fries crispy - and these are on the soggier end. (I usually throw them in the oven for like 5-10 minutes to get them crispy.

I came here with my friend after yoga on a weekday. There are a few spots for parking in the lot and I got lucky to be able to park directly in front. The staff were very friendly and engaged in a lot of conversation. We ordered the chopped salad which was fresh and the petite burger. They were both delicious. They have patio seating which had some bees but the good vibes prevailed. I also ordered my husband the beef sandwich for takeout which he enjoyed. They offered many free samples and even gave ice cream at the end. If you are looking for a one of one experience and support a local business with friendly staff and good food, this is the spot!

10 stars if i could!!! brisket melts in your mouth!!! tri tips are dripping with flavor!!! and you can walk up to the window and ask for samples!!! hand cut french fries & homemade mac & cheese!! rocco is the bomb over and above friendly & accommodating as are all the staff!!! every single one of them!! we were in from ohio and virginia to watch our granddaughter/niece who has qualified in the top 1% of irish dancers in the world for the 2026 world's irish dance competition in schaumburg and could not have found a better lunch than here! for real-we would return again and again if we could. free refills on the homemade orange lemonade, which is perfectly sweetened / not too sweet and not too acidic. do not ever pass a chance at this one!!

We had the food for my son's graduation catered from here, and it was a huge hit! The pulled pork was absolutely delicious--tender, flavorful, and a favorite with all of our guests. We served it on slider-sized brioche buns with the BBQ sauce on the side. Great place for catering or a meal!

I do get a little sad when I come back and don't see something I loved on a previous visit, but I also appreciate that rotating the menu makes room for new and delicious dishes to try! I've had their brunch cocktails and coffee on past visits and have enjoyed them every time. This time, I tried their strawberry matcha latte and it was such a delicious sweet treat! I also love the cozy farmhouse vibe of the restaurant! It makes the whole experience feel warm and inviting. Totally recommend this place!

(??) brown celery, carrots and green beans? Seasonal? Very Disappointing. Seasonal Grain & Veggie bowl was too heavy on the whipped eggplant, and a few pieces of eggplant and grains. Where were the seasonal veggies? Again, Disappointing. Even my martini was not finished. No garnish. A simple step to finish... and it was missed. I'm in the industry, and have been for 20+ years. It's always disappointing when a restaurant doesn't go above and beyond. Provides only the bare minimum. Sorry but you missed the point. There are a lot of restaurants in downtown Arlington Heights. Do better.

Out of curiosity, I decided to check it out. Located across from the railroad tracks and near the Metra station, Dario's is a local institution that serves up tasty sandwiches and more. I liked their sandwiches options on the menu. The variety was good. I ordered their Fiesta Panini that's made with pulled pork, habañero aioli, muenster cheese, red peppers, red onions, and avocado. I wanted something to drink and I saw that they have homemade lemonade with cool, different flavors. I got me a small Guava Lemonade. My panini was freshly prepared. It had a good flavor w/ a nice kick of heat from the habañero aioli (but not spicy in the typical habañero flavor sense). The pulled pork was delicious in taste and texture along with the toppings of muenster cheese, the habañero aioli, red peppers, red onions, and avocado. I should've eaten only one half of the sandwich but I couldn't resist having more, so I finished it. The panini was darn delicious. I liked the restaurant's cozy dining area with outside light coming in. They have a nice patio area as well which would be perfect to sit at on a nice weather day. The staff were friendly and helpful. I liked Dario's a lot and will be going for more. Check them out.

The good about Dario's is the food. I was surprised and thought the sandwich and salad I had was…read morereally good! Haven't had a panini like that in a minute. However, my issue is that I went in with one other person and we ordered two paninis and two cans of sprite (one of each for each of us), with one salad bowl to share. It was $55 dollars after tax. Maybe it's me but it seems like a lot. The service isn't really a question here. It's not bad. They call your name, you grab your food, and bus your own table when you're done. Pretty standard. However, If they did that for you, the price wouldn't bother me as much because thats a proper service. To talk a bit about the restaurant itself, it's small with more space to eat outside than inside, but thats just lovely right now in the summer. The place looks clean too. They had complimentary coffee which was nice. The staff are reasonably young. Probably late high school or freshmen in college but that doesn't mean they can't do a good job. Overall, I don't know if I'd recommend this place to everyone. Im conflicted. I like big portions and quality foods of course, and this was great in flavor, just pricey. To reference the surrounding area, I can go here, or to Emits across the street which is consider the finest dining in downtown Palatine past the Argentinean Bendita and Bella Pizza, and spend around the same amount of money. Still the best panini I've had in a while though.

There's also discrepancy in their menu and what they actually have available as it seems they also display items for the the cafe next door. We happened to arrive during happy hour so some menu items were discounted. They also have a complimentary salad bar. We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. The chicken karaage was prepared well but it had no flavor. I'm regret spending money at this establishment.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.
