Had to update again because we did come back, only because we were in a pickle and didn't realize I threw my kid's cleats away and this was the most convenient stop. Deven on register is a godsend for your store, super friendly, kind and the epitome of what customer service should be. Everyone on the floor, was not there on our last visit and it was a total 180 experience. Everyone was so genuine and helpful, I wish I got the name of the guy helping us because he definitely went above and beyond to assist us in finding the perfect cleats for my kiddo which I really appreciated. Ended up walking out with a new Lego set and also some new sports bras off the clearance rack, such a better vibe with this visit! P.S. And with the amazing customer we have received today, we were shown that they absolutely did have more cleats, an entire tower of them that we missed the last time because we received no assistance. read more

Big 5 Sporting Goods - Only three brands of soccer cleats, nothing BIG about this besides the quantity - Sporting Goods Near Me - Murrieta, California

1/4/28 BASEBALL SEASON has arrived and this Grandma took her boys shopping for cleats and other baseball gear. BIG 5 to the rescue. There's so much on sale right now but nobody on the floor to help. We had to hunt down someone in the shoe dept., and he wasn't very helpful. It was 85° outside and the store was HOT inside. Prices were right for the cleats and baseball glove I purchased for our 7 year old. Just wish we could have found help. I needed someone to size both boys for a glove and a bat. Nobody around so we went to Dick's. The cashier was friendly enough so I will give this place 5 stars because of her. read more

Potential debt fraud. I had to run my card 4 times and immediately after leaving the store my bank called me for fraud. The checker said "the tap doesn't work, you have to hold it for a few seconds" I've never been told that..... read more

The manager nick that was on duty 1-14 in the evening is very sexiest and dicrimitive against women. My girl friend was trying to ask for an item to buy, said the item 4 times and showed a coupon photo and when I tried to help and say the name because he for someone couldn't comprehend or listen then got mouthy with me asking who was purchasing the item and that if I was purchasing then I don't need to talk. It was very disrespectful and very rude and terrible customer service from a Manger not ot mention he took a long time to come out and help with the items. With that said I will not be going back to shop there and will drive an extra 15 minutes to another store to do my shopping. read more

So we came in for a bag stand (boxing) and needed to wait for someone to bring us the "heavy item". Our cashier, Heather, (at least that is what the receipt read), was super sweet, and greeted us well. She asked for the person to come up front to help us, and after what took about ten minutes, a man comes prancing out and going a different direction. When Heather lets him know that he is needed on our side of things, he yells' "I'm coming I'm coming I'm coming" with a harsh tone at the cashier. He waves his hands at her, and is completely aggressive towards her, to the point that my party is getting upset. He finally leaves to retrieve the item, several more minutes later, he comes back, and is again aggressive with the cashier, being obnoxiously nice to us in contrast.. we ended up plucking the item off of the dolly, and walking it to our car to avoid any more interaction with the odd fellow.. I did end up calling on it, in hopes Heather doesn't have to work in such a condition... fingers crossed. read more

This place is a joke. They don't seem to be in touch with reality. Every other store near them is letting people come in as they show up with masks. This Big 5 lets a couple people in at a time so they have a line out the door about 50 feet long. Takes 30 min just to get in. Are you kidding me. You're not making the world a safer place. Look around. Go to Dick's Sporting Goods. You can actually get in without wasting so much time. Btw, just tried timing the line, 45min. And management...everybody in line thinks you're morons. read more

Thank you Mr Devin for the nice service! There's A huge selection of sports goods and items that you could use, even with a decent price and value. read more

This place sucks they need to close and get a real sporting good company in here. Customer service sucks. My 3 year older was about to pee herself and they wouldn't let her use a restroom. I'm going to shit in front of their door tonight so they're employees open the rest room the next time a little kid has to use the bathroom. read more

Went in for a return, 3 employees there had me wait for 5 mins for a manager to come approve the return. Asked them to break a 20, the manager looked at them like they were stupid and looked at me and shook his head. He's the dickhead with goofy haircut. Avoid coming here and don't waste your time. read more

Women, you cannot try on clothes here still as of 12-1-21. So I bought nearly $400 worth. Only kept one item. Brought the rest back. Three of the items skus didn't match 3 of the items on my receipt. Even though I explained that I don't live in the area and have only been to the store once they would only give me store credit, which was less than what I was charged. Even though I was upset by this since I wasn't going to get more clothes to potentially do another hour drive round-trip I still looked throughout the store for something to buy. They don't have hiking socks which is really all I needed so I left with nothing, but the memory that I will never shop here again. Wish I would have seen the bad reviews for this store before shopping here. read more

Other than guns, what is the point of going here? How many Mossberg's does a regular human being need? Mossberg is a shotgun manufacturer, in case you were wondering. I just don't see a point of this store. The prices are higher than at Sports Authority or Wal-Mart. Forget about basketball kicks or decent running shoes. Slim chance for picking up a decent pair of swim trunks during off-season. You'd do much better at Ontario Mills or the elsinore outlet. Shut it down son... read more

Like how most Big 5 Stores will pick up the phone before they open the store for questions. Called in to make sure they had a certain item but was quoted the wrong price and thats why they got a 4 star. When I came in I was greeted and helped out right away, friendly service, quick and they knew how to fill out paperwork correctly. Would come here again for any other needs. read more

Nick the manager was more than helpful when I needed to buy boxing bags and stands. He spent time in making sure I got what i needed and then some. Gavin helped me load these items and i was on my way fairly quickly. All this while the store was busy having a sidewalk sale and of course all of their in house deals. I will go back again and again. read more

Nice shoes, great value....i come here every 3 or so months to get the kids' shoes. Shoe service might be a bit slow but all in all it's all good. The place has cool workout equipment too if you're into that. I've bought workout clothes too for zumba and it's very high quality. Nice thick material. I also bought an Everlast heavy bag stand for the honey, which is pretty sturdy. I recommend this place esp if you have a lot of kids (like me) and need to get them good quality shoes every few months. read more

I was just refused service by the cashier and manager. After standing in line for approximately 5-10 minutes, I asked to purchase my annual fishing/hunting license to which the cashier said she couldn't do it but the manager will in 5 minutes. After 5 more minutes still no service and a lame reply, we're busy with other customers who came in the store later. I will find somewhere else to spend my money. read more

Called them today to check inventory on a "On Sale" item. Salesperson said they had it and would "Hold It" till closing time. Got there 45 minutes later and went to the register and gave them my name and the Salesperson said they couldn't find it. Manager (Bald-Headed Guy) cane and gave the "Deer in the Headlights" look. Then asked me if I called the right store so I went to my "Recent Calls" and dialed the number. All of a sudden the phone between the 2 salespersons started ringing. Enough said, thanked them for wasting my gas and time. Manager just some advice " Know what's going on in your store". Not ti worry another Big 5 BAILED you out!!! Done with this location!! read more

Horrible management, bad service and rude employees. This is the first time I ever walk into store for a purchase and what a sad experience. Walmart has better service than this place! read more

I use to never come to Big 5, Dick's Sporting Goods was my store but after my bf introduced me to Big 5 and got me signed up for their email deals, I've been coming here to do all my sporting shopping. Every time I come, I get the best deals on items. They have one day deals where you literally score on what you're buying. Customer service has always been good too. If you don't get the emails, I'd recommend signing up, they have great bargains for quality stuff. As far as apparel I wouldn't recommend as the selection is limited but when it comes to shoes (soccer and hiking) as well as soccer and hiking supplies, I've been satisfied. read more

Elena is a vey rude manager or supervisor whoever she is. Two weeks ago I bought over $1000 of clothing here and today I came to return couple of things that didn't fit me. She treated me so badly and made me so uncomfortable returning unused and not worn jacket and pants. She does not know how to treat a customer and because of this experience I will never come back here again. We have the right to return merchandise and she should treat a return customer same as a buying customer politely and worth respect and a smile! Plus I had all the receipts and tags attached. She should be fired for treating people like this. read more

Terrible customer service! We went in yesterday to purchase ammo from the ad in the newspaper. Nobody acknowledged us standing over at the ammo counter so my Husband had to stand in the regular check out line just to ask for assistance. Once at the ammo counter, the employee had no knowledge of the advertised mail in rebate. She tried to give us the incorrect one and then said they didn't receive any mail in rebates for that particular ammo that was in the ad. She didn't want to bother with corporate and told us we needed to contact corporate for the mail on rebate coupon. To instruct a customer to do the store's job in incredible. We are quickly reminded why we don't shop at Big 5. Needless to say we spent 30 minutes in the store (mostly being ignored) only to leave empty handed. read more

I appreciate when a store is willing to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer. In this instance I purchased my 10th consecutive annual adventure pass and forgot to pick up the second car pass. (supposed to purchased at the same time as the primary car pass). I came back a couple weeks later (in the same month) and they were happy to accommodate my purchase of the second car pass without hesitation. (I did have my pass and receipt with me from the first pass purchase). I appreciate that common sense sometimes trumps a rule and is in the best interest of the customer. And this is why I will keep coming back for other purchases! read more

I walked in and asked for help, the sales associate didn't know where to direct me to find volleyball knee pads and suggested I ask the manager. I was in a hurry so normally I would just find it myself....then when I paid, same Associate was busy talking about personal events in her life. Oh my must be an off day. 2 stars because I was able to find what I was looking for at a reasonable price :-) read more

I like this store a lot. Every time I've been there, the employees have been very helpful and attentive. Their selection of shoes, clothes and various other sporting goods is very broad, and the prices are very affordable. My only hang-up is that every other store on earth can figure out the new chip feature in debit/credit cards. Somehow, Big 5 can only process your check cards as debit. read more

Horrible experience at this Big 5 due to Elyse or Elcee (Not sure the spelling of her name, was just told by Rebecca that this was the young ladies name). I came in looking for Winter items for myself, husband and 2 kids and had found everything I needed except for a pair of boots for my Husband. I looked online and the website showed the item I was looking for was available and in stock at this location in the size I needed. I walked up to the register and her and Rebecca were talking amongst themselves. When I asked for assistance Elyse because immediately annoyed and rude because I had interrupted their conversation. I asked for assistance in locating the item and she refused to help me stating that whatever was on the store shelves is all they had and that I would have to look through things myself. All of this while I have my 8 week old screaming in the stroller and my 7 year old with me as well. You would think any decent person in customer service would see this and immediately help, but NO. I then also noticed a water spill (see photo) on the floor and notified the same girl and again I received an attitude. It's not gonna be my ass on the line when someone Sues your store for a slip and fall. If I was the manager I would not want this girl representing my store what so ever. Very very disappointed and will now be going to the Elsinore location. read more

There are two identical reviews here with my profile on it. I did not write it. I have never been to that store, nor do I live in the area. Sorry I am unable to delete it and tried to edit it, but response said it is past the 30 days allowed to edit it. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. The customer service was by far the worst I've ever experienced. Sad thing is the one giving the worst service was the so called manager. She was extremely rude it was disgusting. As a manager she should have acted a lot more professional. We were going in to make a huge purchase but were so turned off by the workers we left everything and took our business elsewhere. She needs to be retrained because she's failing miserably at her position and if you hate your job that much than maybe you shouldn't be working there pain and simple. read more

They wouldn't return a box of CO2 because they were the wrong brand for my gun and leaked constantly. He called the manager over who then tried telling me im wrong and that's what's supposed to happen! I told him no it's not and he refused to return the cartridges I bought 2 weeks prior and had the receipt. I ended up going to Carlsbad and they returned my cartridges no problem and ended up buying another gun from them. The Carlsbad manager is awesome! I'd rather make the drive then give Murrieta my money! read more

Poor Customer Service, I wont be coming back here. They sold me a Kayak that leaked and they exchanged me out of it at Big 5 in Big Bear ,but this store has a poor Management staff and a Bad additude towards Customers in general, so I won't go back. I even warned them, No High 5 for Big 5, they don't care about us.My Lifetime Kayak has a big crack and Big 5 won't take it back.....so I lost $400 and they lost me as a customer, P.S. I went to Dick's Sporting Good and was treated nice while I bought a Nice Field and Stream Kayak Angler, and I gave them a 5 Star.....of course. read more

Staff is rude every one every time I've come here they don't know anything about what they are selling made me not want to buy anything

Going on a camping / fishing trip soon and stopped in to take advantage of the items on dale this week on the weekly sales ad. Store is struggling with little inventory and staff do not acknowledge Customers, except when you walk in (and I'm sure this is just a box the cashier is checking, because it doesn't seem sincere). Staff seem friendly enough, so maybe there is just a training opportunity at this store? read more

I've always thought it's nice that we have a Big 5 in the area for affordable sporting goods. If you walk into the store aware that you are going to get necessarily the highest quality stuff, you can still get very effective sporting goods at a good price. I think it's a fantastic place for anyone playing sports non-competitively, or even great for competitive sports if you are looking for the right products. read more

I am all for abiding by rules and such but limiting a plastic pool to one per customer is ridiculous. How is a plastic kiddy pool an essential item where as there is a limit. Manager was rude and stated it was one per household however your sales associate was the one who grabbed them for me with the ladder. A pool is not a gallon of milk or toilet paper or something that people hoard. Get it together Big Five. This location has always disappointed me and this takes the cake. There is such a thing as quality service in business and this store needs retraining. read more

Horrible customer service, walked in at 12:00 pm to purchase a knife and the girl at the front register watched me walk in and said nothing . Would give them 0 stars if I could. Tried to exchange a defective air mattress. Took it out of the box to my tent and deflated to the point we were sleeping on rocks 3 nights in a row. Worst customer service ever! Managers were sitting around talking rather than trying to help employee find wagon in back. Wagon was on sale for $69.99 employee brought one up that was $119. Couldn't find one on sale even though website said they had some in stock. They offered to call another store and put one on hold. Drove all the way over to temecula store and it was not the one on sale for $69. Ended up at dicks with amazing customer Service and they were more than happy to help me. Went camping last week, needed a tent. Had to buy a tent that was affordable but big enough for a queen air bed to fit in. Couldn't find an affordable one at walmart so I called this store, whomever answered was very helpful. I told him what I needed and he took the time to find an affordable tent. Even asked if a queen airbed could fit in and he put me on hold, got the measurements of a queen air bed then did some math and figured out that it will fit in this 8x8 tent. So I go to the store, get the WFS arroyo creek 8x8x56'' tent and purchased it for only 36 bucks. WOW, could not find that at walmart. They asked me to sign up to get coupons and thankfully I did, came later that day spent 90 dollars on extra accessories my hubby needed and got $10 dollars off. Clean store, nice manager, and everyone else was very friendly. Definitely will come back again. read more

The customer service here is was really good. I purchased a instant canopy here for the Fourth of July and was really impressed with how great their customer service was. Unfortunately, the canopy was broken in a couple of places, still functional, but cracker. I called to inquire about doing an exchange and was equally as impressed with the level of customer service I received. They are out of stock on the canopy I purchased, but mentioned they would be ok with doing a refund instead. read more
