I have been shopping at this store for many years. I buy Dr. Scholls tennis shoes....regular price $59.99 but sale price this week was $25.00 for the Prodigy shoe.... The customer service when buying shoes is outstanding ad I was helped right away and they had the correct shoe and size. The customer service at checkout was poor and is terrible everytime I shop here. Young girls up front that have terrible customer service skills. They are not the least bit concerned about the paying customer. Management needs to do a better job training them. I went in tonight wanting to do an adventurous hike with the kids tomorrow. I asked for service, and I got great service. I explained all my needs and ( I think it was the store manager) helped call the right person for the shoes and personally helped with my questions about water on hikes and the best way to get all the gear I needed for 5 kids, with me. I was expecting to go in there and spend a fortune on new soccer gear for my two kids. They were fairly priced and I got out of there feeling like I got my money's worth. I wanted to write a review however about the excellent customer service I experienced at this location. Shopping in Hemet is rough. Most stores are messy and have rude associates (and ghetto customers). I was pleasantly greeted by a man named Jeff. I'm guessing he was a manager because he was really great. He helped me and my kids find the proper soccer cleats, shin guards and socks. He even helped my daughter try the shin guards on in the store to ensure proper fitting. He went above and beyond! The cashier named Needy was friendly and I am thrilled we still have an affordable, enjoyable, sporting goods store in Hemet. I will definitely be back!!! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. Asked if they were getting any dumbbells in stock over the phone, they said they were the next day so I asked if I could possibly reserve them. They said no. I came in the next morning 10 minutes after they opened only to find that they were already sold out, and that they were taking reservations of the items before they opened the store. I love Big 5 wish they were across the country I was working in the area and they seemed to have what I needed each time I went in. It's on the main drag and has lots of parking places. Every week they have coupons in the paper I normally get a good deal on shoes sometimes it takes a little while to get help in the shoe department. read more

I have been going to this BIG 5 for several years, and it really has seldom disappointed me. There are generally discounts and active sales going on quite frequently. In addition, they carry everything you may need; I have bought various styles of shoes, clothing, hats, fishing materials, and much more from this particular store. In addition, I have never had a problem with the staff; I cannot remember a negative interaction with the staff. There is always parking available, and this shop is farther away from the larger retailers in Hemet, so it isn't usually as busy. I feel that this makes the experience more individualized since there are less people around. You feel like you get more "special" treatment, and finding help if you are looking for something isn't a hassle. read more

I love Big 5. I go there all the time. Except this time I went to your Florida store in Hemet. Not very good service. Most employees were good. The very tall manager has a horrible attitude. Walks around all nonchalant like he owns the world and literally ignores people standing in front of him asking questions. Also noticed the other employees had a dislike look on their face when they look at him. I walked out before any transaction was done and I will avoid this store from now on. Hopefully you'll fix this before more people choose to avoid the store as well. It's better to go way out of the way or a different store altogether. When in Hemet and needing certain items Big 5 is a good place. It seems they always carry ammo I do not find at other stores when they have it in stock. Staff is friendly and helpful in getting you what you need. I came here mainly for a bore sight, however I happened to purchase a fishing/gun cabinet, sun glasses some ammo, and pellets too. I went over here because the ad had a sale on Avia running shoes for $29.99. I looked around and it's your typical Big 5 with all the sports gear and accessories that you need. I went to the shoe section and found some other Avia's for $19.99. They had my size and it was such a great deal. 4 stars for having other sales not listed in the ad. read more

This is a great place to go if you know what you need and can get in and get out. If you need help with anything, you could have an issue. Customer service hasn't always been the greatest, but they usually have some good sales going on. read more

If you want sports equipment this is the place. But they have small varieties. For example I needed shoes for running long distance track. They only had one kind and it was in a terrible color. They didn't have racing flats either. But they do have everything you need for whatever sport you partake in. read more

This place is ridiculous. I took my kids in to buy soccer cleats and the cleats were all over the place. Not organized at all. There was a pair of cleats my daughter wanted but it only had one pair in the box. We asked for help to find the other pair and the staff member says that usually happens when one pair is missing. WHAT? He advised me to look for another pair of cleats. So my husband seen a pair way at the top of the shelf that was unreachable and it so happen to be my daughters size. He asked the same guy if he can get that pair down. So he does and hands it to my husband. My husband looks at it and asks the staff member why is it dirty and this fool says well when it sits in the box too long it gets dirty. The soccer cleats literally looked like someone used them and returned them. That is just disgusting and the worse part is the fool try to sell it to us. How is that great customer service? We found a pair my daughter liked so we went to check out. I asked the cashier if that was normal to have dirty soccer cleats sitting at the top of the shelf that is supposedly new. She just shook her head like do you not know how to speak. This Big 5 Sporting Goods in Hemet is just unprofessional. I wonder if I report this matter to their corporate I wonder if it would change.
