This hobby lobby is huge! Their prices can't be beat! I love hobby Lobby. Unfortunately, my experience here today left then with 3 stars. I was almost hit by a cart an employee was pushing. I stopped before she could hit me but it was her attitude that left a very bad impression on me. She didn't say a word but huffed off. We came for fabric. The store is very clean and organized offering great displays of decor and furniture in artistic placements. My main goal was to acquire some miniatures for birdhouses I was refurbishing. I found quite a few, which cost considerably less than Amazon & eBay. I also picked up other decor and my purchases came to $50. The lady, who checked me out was very friendly and welcoming. I've been a loyal Hobby Lobby customer for years, but my experience at the Temecula-Palm Plaza location last night was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it. I urgently needed a specific console table (SKU #1537612) for an event the next day. After calling the Hemet store and learning they didn't have it in stock, I called the Temecula store and was told it was available. My husband and I drove 30 minutes out of our way specifically to purchase it. When we arrived, we inspected all the available consoles in the back furniture section and found multiple issues: one had slashes on a leg, one had a chip on the top, and another had visible paint marks. The only console in acceptable condition was a floor display near the front--even that one only had a minor scratch that my husband could easily repair. The display also had a price tag on it, and there was no signage indicating it was "display only." Naturally, we asked an employee if we could purchase the display model at a modest discount. The employee checked with the manager and returned saying the manager refused to sell any display items. So we asked to speak with the manager directly. That's when things went from disappointing to unacceptable. Manager Adam Bower approached us with an extremely dismissive attitude. He repeated "display only" with no willingness to hear our situation or even consider a solution. When I tried to explain that the items in the back were damaged, he cut me off with a curt "OK," showing zero interest in helping. His only suggestion--"order it online"--was pointless since the item wouldn't arrive in time for our event the next day. Both my husband (who has extensive management/customer service experience) and I were shocked at his lack of professionalism, courtesy, or even basic customer care. Hobby Lobby is a customer-facing business, and the way we were spoken to and brushed off was astonishing. To make matters worse, Adam ignored the fact that the display items were tagged with prices and lacked any "not for sale" signage, which would reasonably lead customers to believe these items could be purchased. The entire interaction left us frustrated and without the item we needed, despite driving out of our way and trying to work with the store to find a solution. Thankfully, I spoke with Deanna in customer service the next morning, and she kindly listened and assured me she would escalate the issue to the District Manager. I hope Hobby Lobby addresses this promptly. No customer should be dismissed the way we were--especially when they're trying to make a purchase and when store practices give the impression that display items are available. Hobby Lobby has always been a favorite store of mine, but this incident left a very negative impression. I sincerely hope no one else has an experience like this at this location. read more

My husband and I are frequent shoppers of Hobby Lobby. We LOVE shopping here. That is until today. My husband had bought lots of Fall/Christmas decor yesterday, and when he was putting the decorations out, one of the pumpkin decorations had to have had a hairline crack we didn't see. Don't bother coming here... I forgot my wallet and assumed I could use Apple Pay but the cashier (didn't get his name, older white guy) went out of his way to make a scene because I didn't know you couldn't use it. I asked if I could set my cart aside and come back. I started walking away and he screamed at me to put the cart elsewhere, causing the most embarrassing scene. He called his manager, Susanna, over to hold my cart. I came back 2 hrs later and the manager left my cart sitting in an isle where everything was taken out of it... I openly asked her if it was intentional because her cashier was mad at me and all she could say was she can't control what people take and it sucks. Piss poor excuse and both crappy people... Susanna clearly doesn't have much customer experience and is zero help. Couldn't even bother apologizing for her associates outburst or for getting caught INTENTIONALLY putting my stuff in a random isle. Why are your only two cashiers slower than molasses? Wait in line for 30 minutes for damn decorations. Waste of time and money. The least you could do is provide decent customer service but your manager Susanna is terrible example. Today I picked up 9 pieces of art that I had professionally framed and I am 100% satisfied, as always. Wow, just wow. This is my 2nd Hobby Lobby I've stepped foot into and I must say this one takes the cake. Selection.... this one has it. Great customer service... this one has it.... location... I mean it is right off the highway (cha ching!). Plenty of parking and super busy but that did not waiver once inside, the store is plenty big with aisle that go on and on and on (see picture attached). Again, looking for event decorations ideas and getting pricing for an upcoming event. There was a deal and ad that ended on Saturday with a new ad that started today. I did end up making a purchase (two times, as I had to go back and pick up something else) that was not even on my list of items I was in need of or searching for at all. That is how this place gets you! The set-up is amazing, the elegance the store brings makes you want to buy everything and set it up inside your house. Not to mention walking into the bathroom felt like I was walking into a fancy bar or restaurant entrance. Will definitely be back to visit when in the area! read more

Won't be back. 2nd time I've been "talked down to" by cashier when I asked a simple question. Today I was yelled at in front of lines of customers waiting for checkout. She literally raised her voice and then berated me telling me what the 50% off sign on the endcap really meant. I said I work retail and anytime we put a sign up on a fixture that says 50% off, That's what we're gonna give the customer 50% off the price. I said I don't work for Hobby lobby so I don't know what your procedure is, but I believe it's universal Any store you go to. After I told her she really didn't have to come at me in such a nasty way, she then said "well I'm sorry but it's been a really rough day and we're busy so...". I told her maybe you should take a break. Going to the mgr on duty she said she'd talk to her. I'm sure that never happened. I also witnessed that mgr yelling at the older supervisor guy because he wanted to take his lunch. This place has the most rude and unhappy employees. Such a shame. read more

I stopped by Ross in Murrieta, and Burlington as well. My mission today was to update my decor for our July 4th celebration. I was so bothered by the fact that neither of these stores had any thing..... not one stitch of RED, WHITE & BLUE!!!! Shame on those stores!!! I love HOBBY LOBBY. I knew I could count on them for this theme. However, the women who run register could use a course on friendliness. I spent close to $200 here today. The gal moved right on to the next customer and only said "Thank you," when I said "Thank you," first. Let me give you a crash course: 1. Greet: Hi how are you? Did you find what you came in for today? 2. Smile 3. Say goodbye: "Thank you for your business. Please check back with us soon, as we have new merchandise daily." Something is very dissatisfying about customer service here. It's Just a bunch of grumpy people who act like everything is a race. I truly cherish this store and ALWAYS find what I need. They go all out for the holidays and the Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas decorations are fantastic. We've shopped at Hobby Lobby for years but we recently moved and almost our entire house has been decorated with Hobby Lobby. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and professional. read more

I visited this Hobby Lobby yesterday. It is huge and I ALWAYS find great things to look at, muse about and of course buy! it is clean, the music is soothing .. I even heard Christian instrumental songs. All of this was wonderful, until I checked out. First, I'm standing in line and a cashier yells "This line is open".. vs. addressing the next person in line. Quite naturally, customers who were behind me rushed to be helped. I followed suit, but, to add insult to injury, was not even looked at, greeted nor did I receive a response from my cashier Robin when I said "Hello" to her. The entire transaction took place with no acknowledgment at all. I was taken aback at her poor customer care and felt completely unwelcome by her. I write this review because I think customers (who choose to visit AND SPEND their hard earned money at your store .. over others) deserve better and companies need to train and expect their employees to acknowledge and greet people at the very least. read more

Great selection of items!! Always great prices when items are on sale. It's my go to place for holidays

It would be beneficial to go over customer service, employee handbooks, and prices with your Temecula store. We went last week, and I witnessed every employee in the store chatting it up and having a wonderful time. At first I almost wanted to sign up to work there, as they were clearly happy about their job, and who wouldn't be? You get to stand around with your pals, offloading a box or two, and have a good time, all while being paid to do it! This would typically be ok with me, as I believe if your happy, you may work harder, but then I started to notice a manager calling for aid over the intercom system. Now, I watched as almost every single employee kept their conversation going without missing a beat. As if they didn't hear it. I continued throughout the store, from time to time hearing the request for additional help at the front, but still employees not making a move. Like they didn't hear it at all. Finally finishing my purchase, I make my way to the front. By the time I arrived, there were only about 4 people ahead of me. My party watched patiently as the two check registers tried to rush everyone through, as groups of employees watch, and some even chat up the register. Then they do something crazy!... I watch as the registers go from two down to one. Two people are ahead of me at this point and when I turned to look, the line was almost wrapped around the inside of the store. The manager was calling for people by name to come to the register after she made several attempts to call them as a group. Yet, she still made no move towards a register to help. The other employees near her made no attempt either. We could see that people behind us were getting frustrated, some even began to put their items back and leave the store, others start getting vocal. When they finally did begin to come forward, the manager began funneling the patrons to the isles that began to open. Unfortunately she failed to pay attention to what she was doing, and several people in the beginning of the line watched as those at the end were able to pay for their things and then leave. Yes, she was actually making those in the front of the line sit and wait, while the others were able to go first! Obviously, some left in a tantrum. Others tried to wait it out patiently. Those who got to "cut" in front of the rest of us gave their sympathetic smiles as they left. I truly was hoping that one of them would send us help, but I think they thought we would be ok. The little old woman finally was able to place her items on the register and tried desperately to explain what was happening so that the error could be resolved before anyone else became unhappy. However, after 4 failed attempts to get anyone to even look at her (including her own cashier!) she gave up, and quietly paid for her belongings, issuing each and everyone of us still trapped a heartfelt but sympathetic smile. After witnessing several (more than 10) people leave who came in the line after I did and even after a few behind me, it was finally my turn. I excitedly put my belongings on the register and was going to keep my mouth shut about the line, to do my part to help quicken the pace. No more than three items in, the cashier calls for the manager. I tried to ask the reason, but they jump over my concern to discuss the matter among themselves. Overhearing, I realize that one item has no tag, and they want the price. I offer up the price, and the manager does not even skip a beat when she tells the cashier that she is sure that the item is part of a package. Did she think I opened the package and took out one item? Yes. That was made perfectly clear when she proceeded to tell the cashier that we needed a price check on the whole package. Again, I explain the price, and even offer up the exact same item, this one with a tag. (I was buying two) still not convinced, she proceeds to instruct the cashier to call for help on pricing. I then proceed to explain that I did not want the item any longer and was content with buying only the one with a tag. This also was not allowed. That same blond headed manager insisted once more to the cashier to check for pricing. It was at that moment that several people seemed to get bit with the Karen bug at the same time. My usually quiet driver spoke out at the injustice. He rather loudly insisted that we be able to pay for only the items that had a price tag, and that the employees let him leave immediately. Two gentlemen behind us also agreed, and with that, the manager scurried away like a rat. She made no attempt to acknowledge anyone's complaint. She made no attempt to hear anyone out. She made no attempt to calm the situation. She made no attempt at all. She ran! Admittedly, if several men started to become vocal in my direction, I might pee my pants too, but if it was my job, I'd have listened to them all despite the pool running down my leg. read more

I guess I just found my new store to shop and look around for a while!!! I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of decor and bn furniture pieces they had from themes to colors! Everything was nicely set up! They have a good and selective amount of decor to other things such as flowers and sewing. They did have sale when I went but at the register not everything was on sale. The entire store is stocked from top to bottom and I love it. Regardless of what theme or color you are looking for, you will find it here. They also have awesome deals and sales. Pretty good Hobby Lobby location. One of the bigger locations I've been to, and I enjoyed seeing all the variety it had to offer. I especially liked the selection of wall art! They had so many really cool canvases and framed pictures that would make great additions to a home or office. I got a really cool one for my baby's nursery! This is a warning to all non-white people shopping at this store. I am white and my wonderful husband is Filipino. Beware of Paula, one of the employees here. This person very politely and cordially helped the white customers ahead of us in line. And then she helped us. She was a little short with my husband but nothing to write home (or a Yelp review about). Right after we got out my husband had a change of mind and went in to return 1 item of the 15 or so we purchased. I should have gone back inside with him but I stayed with our daughter right outside instead. When he came back out he told me this woman, Paula, scolded him in front of other customers as he was standing at the register and accused him of not reading the signage regarding the item correctly and then proceeded to apologize to the people BEHIND him! This is completely uncalled for behavior. Why pick on him? He is always so polite and considerate. I'm sorry Hobby Lobby, we have loved and supported you for many years but you owe my husband an apology. No one deserves to be humiliated for returning one item! Shame on you! read more

I love Hobby Lobby but I left the store today feeling like I'm not a valuable customer. I paid my $33 items with $100 cash and quickly the cashier Kathy H asked someone to come over. The person came over , didn't even say hi or look at me and put the $100 in the machine which should be enough but nooo, he had to put the $100 up in the air. Then he told her, "you're good". No eye contact or anything. Or even explaining why they have to do what they did. Made me feel like I'm a criminal and trying to buy things with counterfeit money. I worked in retail for many years and they should have treated it a little better instead of trying to see if I'm a thief. I'm glad I got my Kit Kat chocolate candy. Every year I plan a theme for my tree and buy all of my ornaments, ribbons and holiday decor at Hobby Lobby. I can stand the busy and packed house. I spent an exorbitant amount in the past 3 weeks and finally returning some of the stuff that I did not use. I go straight to the refund line. Waited almost an hour and I was accused of returning the items I was trying to return again. The clerk was rude and did not want to hear what I had to say. She stated, we can look to see if you took this off the shelf. I told her do it. I did not steal anything. She refused to call a manager. The lady next to me stood up for me. One hour later the assistant manager shows up. I told her that I never returned anything since I bought all of my items. I told her to look at the video. My integrity was questioned and I was hurt, insulted and embarrassed. Worst customer service. I finally got a gift card for the amount but simple fact that the clerk was not willing to look outside the box to trouble shoot the situation is beyond unacceptable.
